Read full review of Publix Super MarketsI am so upset over what happened today at the Publix Pharmacy located at 10935 S. Jog Road in Boynton Beach, Florida.
This evening when I opened the bag to take my pills, it fell out of my hand. The bottle that Publix Pharmacy gave me was glass, which I was not aware of, It spattered everywhere. I have been taking these pills for over a year and never was given them in a glass bottle. Slivers of glass was all over the pills and my tile floor. I thought it was odd for the...

It use to be a pleasure shopping at Publix Supermarket at the Pavilion Fayetteville GA, however, the nectarines are old and mushy same with the grapes. The oranges were bad too. This is not a one time incident it is happening more times than not. In additional the person responsible was rude when I visited the store on Friday, March 19, 2021. I was standing in line, many people were buying crabs it appeared they were running out of stock, because the gentleman was giving the customer in front of me the scraps. So that I didn't continue to stand in line any longer I simple asked are you out of crabs. He pretty much told me to wait my turn.
The store manager may need some training to ensure the store is operating according to Publix standards.
Desired outcome: Customer service training and fresh produce in the store at all times.
Pharmacy
my wife went to the Publix pharmacy at 4402 Curry Ford Rd in Orlando Fl, this has always been her favorite store and she knows everyone there and visa versa, she was at the Pharmacy picking up 2 prescription for me, the rep asked for my info and pulled 1 prescription and when she asked about the second the rep said it had expired, when she said she had brought in the bottle showing their was a refill the previous Saturday to have filled and let them know the prescription would be expiring the following day they said they did not have it in stock but would be able to order it and fill it by Tuesday, now the rep says its expires and your not going to get it, this infuriated my wife and she continued to explain the prescription was valid when she brought it the previous Saturday, the Girl said (sorry for you) and at that point my wife asked for her manager, the assistant Pharmacy manager Daniel Motta walked up with his arms crossed and said what's the problem, my wife explained once again that she had brought a valid prescription that she was told would be filled and now she is being told its expired and you will have to go back to your doctor and get another one, that was the whole point of coming to Publix, to get it filled before it expired, the Pharmacist acknowledged yes the prescription was valid at the time but was now expired and he can't fill it.
at that point he retuned to his station and my why wife asked a young man behind the window if she could get his name, it sounds like the Pharmacist overheard her asking and he walked and he walked back over toward her and banged his fist on the wall saying (its right on the wall for the whole world to see) when she looked his picture was hanging on her side of the wall.
today I was in Publix with my wife and I told her I was going to go ask the pharmacist why they did not fill my prescription, but when the rep told him what I was there for he said he was too busy and I could tell he had no interest in looking at me or talking to me.
the rep and the Pharmacist are very unprofessional at this store and it sad they make the store look bad.
Desired outcome: retrain your Pharmacy personnel on good customer service, totally unhelpful and unprofessional
Drinking Water Product
I have purchased many gallon jugs of Publix Drinking Water since I moved to Florida in early November, 2020. The last two jugs I have purchased contained water with a strong odor resembling algae. I began to feel ill after consuming a small amount from one bottle and threw it out. After smelling the same odor on the second bottle, I also disposed of it.
I am not interested in being reimbursed the $1.96 cent total of my purchases, but I am extremely concerned that Publix is distributing water that can harm the public.
If I wanted to drink water with a strong offensive odor, I would drink the local system's tap water, one which bears a terrible sulfur smell. The official information regarding the processing of the offending product is listed below:

On 12/11/2020 I ordered a large chicken salad sandwich, the same sandwich I have ordered 100 times before. The service person refused to fill the sub roll with enough chicken salad. I requested to speak to a manger. Jay Alvarez manager told me that they are not going to add any more chicken salad to the sandwich, which was not enough to fill the sub roll. Mr. Alvarez started talking down to me and told me that they never filled the sandwich. I was charged an additional three dollars for the same sandwich that I always ordered.
I am a 75 year old senior and have been shopping at this Publix since they opened. Mr. Alvarez insinuated that I was lying. I felt that I was being discriminated because of my age. This is not the way seniors should be treated.
Sincerely,
Harold Marks

Customer service discriminates
Is Publix only hiring dumb people?
At 8:30 am, there are 3 old jack fruits on the shelf. One in a state of decay. The two other ones are also overripe because they have been there for almost a week. Nobody buys entire jack fruit.
I ask to cut me a quarter of the biggest one. The stock clerk tells me he cannot cut it. 4 days ago I actually got a quarter from another, elder employee in the same store and at the same table.
I insist and explain. But he turns to another employee and both walk away. It takes a long time for both to return even while there are NO bags of oranges and NO strawberries, and a number of customers looking for fresh fruits. The shelfs are half bare or messed up with bruised fruits, still at this time.
Finally both return with the dubious claim that the manager refuses to let them cut the jack fruit.
Imagine. They are unable to sell the whole fruit so selling them in smaller chunks would solve that problem. They won't do it and let the fruits rot further.
I've started to shop at Bravo (now Key Foods) because the employees are smarter and don't discriminate against the customers, because that's what I think it is: discriminating gives them power, or so they think.
But of course, the customer's power is in the pen.
Employees not wearing masks
Publix 535 Tamiami Trl S. Venice, FL 34285 Store 802 Totally support the customer mask requirement! However a male employee who usually is stocking, pulls his mask far below his nose. Publix Pharmacy at store # 746
I moved to Florida in 1991 in good health and began shopping at Publix then and still do. Your slogan "Where shopping is a pleasure" was really true. All Publ x employees were always smiling and greeted you with a smile and asked how you were and if there was anything they could do to help, no matter which store I shopped at.
My car was rearended I 1999 and I had back surgury. In 2003 and again in 2005 my car was rear ended. Each time I was stopped at a red light. I was declared disabled by the state of Florida in 2006. I cannot stand for more than a few minutes without having severe pain that radiated down my left leg. As well as constant neck pain that goes down my left arm. I spend 80% of my day lying down on the couch or in bed. I have a difficult time sleeping as I am awakened every night from the pain.
I do have a 1-2 hours each day when my pain medicine allow me to move about somewhat, still in pain but lessened. I wear special sneakers with large springs on them that reduce the shock to my spine I get with each step. Prior to getting these I could not walk 50 feet, could not even walk the dog. Wearing these greatly improved my life. But if I stood in one place for more than 1-2 minutes my pain would increase.
I received aproximatly 35 spine pain treatments from Dr. Chun over the next 14 years. None of which did much to releive the pain for more than a few days.. Numerous pain medicine were tried with Morphine the most effective.
I have several surgeons
.
I have been getting my prescriptions filled at Publix #746 since 1992 without any problems. The Publix pharmacy manager, David was a pleasure to work with. A real professional. A few years ago he retired and his assistant, Alan Karpe was offered the position but turned it down. He told me he did not want the responsibility of the position. The manager position was was given to Sivilay Keovilay. Sometime in 2016 Alan began telling me he did not like me taking so much pain medicine. He told me I should not be taking Didlaid. I talked to my pain doctor and he agreeded to drop it. I told Dr. Chun about having to lie on the couch each morning usually untill noon, waiting for my slow release Morphine ER to started working. He gave me a prescription for instant release Morphine IR to take each morning. This lowered my pain lever faster and allowed me to move off the couch earlier.
When Alan saw that Dr. Chun had given Morphine IR he said he said I should stop taking all Morphine. I told him that I listened to him about the other pain medicine but I cannot stop taking the only pain medicine I was on.
He began to complain to me every time I went to pick up my medicine. Eventually he would make up excuses for not filling them. First he would say that the doctor never sent the prescription. I contacted Dr. Chuns office and they assured me that they had sent the prescription over electronically. Next Alan said he was out of stock of it. When I found it had come in he said he was waiting for the insurance to approve it. I told him I was paying cash for it and he did not have to ask the insurance for approval. But he said he still was going to wait for their approval. Then he said he needed to get Dr. Chuns approval. I could not understand why he needed his approval as he was the doctor that wrote the prescription. He called my doctor and we would do a 3 way call and after the doctor told him to fill it he would tell me to hang up so he could talk to my doctor without me hearing what he was saying.
After seeing Dr. Chun for 15 years he retired December 2018. A new pain management doctor, Dr. Adams took over his practice. He continued to prescribe the same pain medicines as Dr. Chun. Alan got very indignant to me and told me that I souldn"t be taking Morphine. He called Dr. Adams and tried to stop him from prescribing Morphine. I received a call from Dr. Adams nurse and she told me" I needed to find a new pharmacy".
I had only been seeing Dr. Adams 3 months but had never actualy met with him during my appointments. On my 4th visit with Dr. Adams I was scheduled for a"Medical treatment"on my back. I was uncomfortable with him giving me a treatment without ever meeting with me and discussing my back problems. I began looking for a new doctor.
Alan told my wife that I was faking my pain. He also accused me of doctor shopping. Even though I had the same doctor for 15 years. He said he would not fill my Morphine prescription. Thinking that I wasn't going to be able to get it refilled. I had to cut back on it. I had some left over from the previous month and wanted them to last as long as I could. So instead of taking them 6 per day, I was forced to only take 2 per day. This caused my pain level to keep me bed ridden most of the day. I started looking for a new pharmacy. I was having a hard time finding a pharmacy that would take a new customer looking to get Morphine filled.
I spoke to Sivilay, the Publix pharmacy manager about this, but all he would ever say was he would have to talk to Alan. He seemed to be afraid to make any decision without talking to Alan. After trying to get my prescription filled for weeks. I was told to pick it up on May 5 2019. Apon picking up my prescription, Sivilay handed me a note when he handed me my Morphine. It said that they would not be able to fill my morphine any more and to go somewhere else. It was hand written on my prescription paperwork but it was not signed.
I began seeing Dr. Ycaza. My new pain management doctor. My first apointment with him was on June 10th. He asked me when was the last time I had my Morphine filled. I told him my Morphine ER was filled in April and my Morphine IR was filled in May. He went onto the state drug prescription site to see when it was last filled.
He found there wasn't any Morphine entered for me since March. I showed him the emtpy bottles that were filled at Publix #746. His nurse contacted Publix pharmacy #746 and asked them why they stopped filling my Morphine. They told her that it was because I had failed my drug test. This was an lie! I have never ever failed a drug test my entire life.
A few weeks later my wife called Publix pharmacy #746 to see if her prescriptions were ready for her to pick up and Alan started yelling at her. Saying how rude she was. He said he was going to sue us. She was so upset she hung up. Alan then called back. I answered the phone. He said he wanted to talk to my wife. I said"do I need to get a lawyer?". He went into a rage and put the phone down but he did not hang up. I put the phone on speaker. I could hear him yelling to the other employees about how terrible my wife and I were to him and how we were both drug addicts'. He went on for 10 minutes, while my wife an I listened in. When he finally picked the phone back up,
I told him we had heard every word.
No apology, nothing but more yelling at us.
Another time another Doctor had prescribed another controlled substance. The doctor had sent in 3 prescriptions electronically (1 for each month) to Publix # 746 and I picked up the first months supply. When it was time to get the nexts month supply, Alan said they do not have any prescriptions for the refill and that the doctor never sent them. I called the doctor and he said he is absolutely positive he sent them. My doctor resent the 2 remaining prescriptions in and I was able to get the 2nd months supply refilled. This is not the first time this Publix has lost controlled medications prescriptions have have been sent there.
I have transfered my prescriptions to Publix #798 and have had the doctor resend the 3rd months supply resent to this publix to get it refilled.
I went to the new Publix and did some shopping. I went to get some Publix decaffeinated cola. There was none in the isle. I went to the store manager and told her that. She told me it was because of Corna virus. I can understand this but when I asked about other items that the store stopped carrying she said Crona was the cause for everything, even the items that the store stopped carrying years ago. She never offered to look in the back so see if there might any there. Another manager did this the last I was there and found a case of cola, in which I bought the entire case.
I went to the pharmacy to pick up my Morphine. A worker got it I paid for it and was ready to leave. The pharmacy manager was at the counter and asked her, why do I have to call every month to get my RX filled. She printed 2 copies of the RX and said she could not fill it before the date my doctor said. The paper said not to fill it until the 25th. But it wasn't filled until the 28th and only because I had called. I guess she thought I was concerned about having to pick them up at 2 different dates. Her idea was to delay filling the early prescription 2 days every month until the were both on the same day. So I would be without my pain meds for 2 days each month. for the 3 or 4 months. She said I rolled my eyes when I heard of her idea. She asked me what I wanted her to do. I said"all I wanted was them to fill my prescriptions when they come in". Apon hearing that the she exploded, She grabbed the papers on the counter and said she was done talking to me and if I didn't leave she was calling security. Within 5 seconds she was on the phone calling security. I couldn't believe what was happening. All over asking a question? Is it too much to ask to have my prescriptions filled?
I was surrounded by big guys and the store manager started yelling at me to leave the store. Instead of finding out what was going on she escalated it further by calling the Police. I said I was leaving and turned to pick up my Paid prescriptions. She said I could not take my RX with me. I grabbed them and left the store before the police arrived.
Someone needs to look at the store video and you will see what happened. There was a employee standing at the pharmacy register and she saw everything. I understand a customer says I was rude. She was not there when the pharmacy manager called security or the reason she called, as there was none. I'm sure this customer would been as upset as I was if the was threatened to be arrested for asking a question. There was no need for this extreme action.
I get a call from Publix corporate pharmacy supervisor, Jason
He calls to tell me what happened at the store. He has yet to ask me what happened. He says he will look into it and I tell him to look at the store video. He says he will. Few days later he says he looked at the video. Again he starts telling me what happened. Again never asked me what happened. What he says does not make any sence. He says I went to the customer service counter and said Racial Slurs to the employees when I asked to talk to the manager about the store being out of decaf soda. Then he says the customer service employee looked up the Pizza I was asking about. what? I never told the counter employees what I was asking about and it was not pizza. and why would they do that if I was saying"Racial Slurs" to them? Then the reason the Pharmacy manager called security was because she thought I was going to attack a customer. The customer that walked up to me to yell at me while I was pushing my cart toward the register to pay for the items in it. I had to put the phone down because I having chest pains.
It looks like the morphine was being smuggled out and sold at street value and you were told the dr had not ordered it yet...
Unfortunately it's the managers who prove to be worthless and spineless but highly trained in smuggling large quantities of food out thru the back door at 1 am.
Gouging of meat andToilet paper prices
Before the pandemic Publix sold a 6 pack of charmin for $6.99 and pound of ground sirloin for $5.99, The same charmin is $9.99 and the ground sirloin is $8.99... Thats $3.00 more per item, Walmart a half mile away sells the same two items for $3.00 less same as it was previously, meat increases should be the same yet Publix is way higher, There are many items at Publix that have increased significantly and I feel it more gouching then anything else,
coronavirus
What does it take to limit the amount of customers coming into your stores. I thought the order was to stay at home. Publix only cares about how much money it makes and does not care about the health and well being of your employees and customers. Remember it takes only one to spread the virus. If you are leaders then show you leaders and not follow what everyone is doing. Do the right thing and limit your customers coming into stores. Don't wait for things to happen and then do something about it. Be proactive and not reactive. I don't think your founder would be proud of how you are handling this pandemic.
Meat department
Today, 04/04/2020, I have a complaint about the Meat Dpt Assistant manager whose name is JOE, but I didn't get his last name. When you order groceries they sent a receipt with one amount and they charge $20.00 more to the credit
card After you paid for delivery plus tips they take extra 20 dólares
Taking advantage of the. Pandemic and old people
I called why that extra charge and they said because the groceries were most expensive but the register
bill was twenty dollars less
I will never use their service again
Shame in a company that abuse their customers at this time No wonder the world is going down
This is what Publix is doing for their customers
Price gouging
Publix stores is price gouging the eggs. The same 18count large eggs are $1.59 elsewhere, Publix has it for $2.90.
The 30 count eggs in Publix used to be around $4.48 now since COVID-19, the raised it to $6. 49. Blatant price gouging is illegal. That is the only store that eggs cost so much more. I advice you to look at their other product items as well. Location of the store is Dallas GA 30132
Publix prices have sored 35% since the Covid started. They do the same during huricanes.
Foul taste/smell
Hollywood Fl 03/19/2020 - BEWARE! Publix purified gallon water tastes/smells chemically/soapy/salty. For about a week I have drank almost the whole gallon (heating up cups of water in microwave for coffee) before figuring out it's the water that's the problem! First, I thought it was the instant coffee so I bought new coffee but that was not the problem. Then I bought new cream but that was not the problem. Then I changed my dishwasher detergent but that was not the problem. Then I started thinking maybe my tastebuds are off and needed to see my doctor as by now I'm having stomach issues. A week later...this morning (after smelling the almost gone water right out of the plastic container) I found the problem, it's the Publix purified gallon water itself!😵 BEWARE! Bad Publix Purified gallon Water: Pro Feb 12 2020 07:07 F5, Exp Sept 09 2020 PLT 12-595.
Price gouging
So let me say at a time we are ALL in a situation we have ( most of us not faced before) Publix is greedy!
I placed an delivery order for over $800.
Because I have a rental property that is usually booked. I buy grocery's day to day.
I had nothing is to why $800. I tipped $100, because I knew how bad the stores were!
Upon trying to place another delivery order for $250. But this time I noticed a service fee. Besides Tip & delivery charge and you are already told prices are higher because of convenience. So I look @service fee and it says optional so I take it off, well it won't let my order go through, says error. So finally I leave it on...ding ding ding...my order goes through.
So when I look at my $800 order I see I paid $30 for their service fee. How crappy!
Bread Vendor
I shopped at the Lake Mary Pointe, 601 Weldon Blvd. Lake Mary, Fl. this morning, Tuesday, 3/10/20. I was in the dairy section when the bread vendor ( tall Hispanic) was laughing loudly and slamming the bread flats one after another... Also his laughter and conversation was over the top with someone he was talking too on his bluetooth airpods... I also noticed he was wearing sunglasses and just acting totally unprofessional.. I understand its great to love your job and glad he's working but his actions are more for a warehouse setting than a grocery store such as Publix. Just thought you should know...
From my experience the hispanix do a fenomenal job as long as they are well supervised. Blacks however want to show discriminating power. Unfortunately it's the managers who prove to be worthless and spineless but highly trained in smuggling large quantities of food out thru the back door at 1 am.
grocery department
My husband works for a Publix located in Venice Florida.. The manager is great but in grocery they swear all the time in front of women FU_K... Plus many other words.. Also the grocery clerks throw boxes at manager which can be seen on camera in front of customers.. One employee also said to another employee that you can brush you teeth on my [censored]!! Very...

I am the customer that doesn't return. One of the reasons I went to Publux and paid a little was because of their customer service. However, the Deli Dept in your Forest Ridge location leaves alot to be desired for... waiting times are lengthy, the women working their are rude. In the whole store the Deli Dept is truly atrocious! The wait for cold cuts sometimes is over 40 minutes and then your are spoken to rudely. I waited in line with over 7 customers, when it was my turn the lady rudely said she couldn't take the order because all the blades needed sharpening. So I couldn't purchase my cold cuts. They lady was furious because I said that was unbelievable. You would think with how busy the deli dept. they would be prepared at always have one machine serviced and working. I believe this is a management issue as well. Whoever is running the Deli Dept at this location knows how busy this store is and therefore should prepare the volume of customers you are to receive. There are never enough people working which in turn why the customers have to wait so long. Imagine are the blades going dull at the same time? Talk about inefficiency at it's best. They should be on top on things like this! By the way the store manager was there at the time and saw how rude and obnoxious this women working conducted herself. The parking situation has become equally difficult so it's a shame but I refuse to be treated in a disrespectful manner when I am giving you my money!
cake engraved wrong
So with today 10/16/19 being boss day and having the great boss that I have I decided to do too Publix and get him a cake. I asked that it be engraved with "Happy Boss Day DAN and I even spelled out the name for her but unfortunately when I got back to work and presented it to my BOSS it was then that I noticed she spelled his name wrong (even after I spelled it for) and she put DAE instead of DAN. I called the store to make them aware of the mistake and all they could tell me was to bring it back and they would scrape off the name and spell it right. That is very POOR customer service especially when I told her the spelling so because of the time restraint and not being able to take it back in my opinion my boss day was ruined.
Very POOR customer service from the bakery.
Sorry about that but...How come you didn’t look at the cake right after she wrote on it or before you left. And that shouldn’t ruin your day, a lot of worse things happen in life, illness, death of a loved one etc.
Stay cool 👌🏽
