cleanliness of room
I was scheduled to stay at the Red Roof in Waco, TX. 720 S Martin Luther King Jr
My room was absolutely disgusting (I've taken photos and am willing to provide them to you). There were bugs in my room (dead and alive). Globe of hair on shower wall, blood in the shower. My door latch was broken. The outside of the building looked great. Inside is disgusting. I was able to obtain a refund but thought this needed some attention. After combing through more reviews online, this hotel is going to fail if not addressed.
700 larson st, jackson, ms 39202
Man behind the counter to check me in had zero customer service skills. He took 5 minutes to even address me when I walked in and the only words he spoke to me was "Room 332" as he threw my drivers license and credit card back to me. I proceed to my room and walked in to the nastiest room I have ever seen. There was coffee still in the pot, used soap still in the shower, hair and hair accessories in the bed, hair, lint, and other unidentifiable things all over the floor, which was quite sticky might I add. If it wasn't for the fact that I didn't arrive until 2am and my kids were exhausted, I would have found another hotel. I do request a full refund. The photos online advertising this location are a joke. This place is filthy and I will NEVER return. I am unsatisfied to say the very least. Gross, Gross, Gross!
problem
I stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Winchester, VA on 10/19/18 and 10/20/18. There was no problem on the 19th, but I had a long day of celebrating a family reunion and a wedding. When I came back to the Hotel sometime between 12 and I a.m. the door would not open. Thankfully my brother was with me to drop me off and he went to get the super. He tried hard to open it and had to get a key to change the battery. He tried for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes keeping me out in the windy cold weather. Not to mention I was exhausted and just wanted to go to bed. Finally he put me in another room which was smelly and dirty. I took pictures of smudges on a pillow and smears on the bedspread. Then I realized all my medications were in room 245. I need them for many reasons and feared I would not be able to sleep. I went back to the office and asked the man to please call an emergency service to open my door. He asked me to give him 30 minutes. It was longer than that and he came to get me so I could remove all my belongings since he had forced the door open and I would not be able to return to it. He had someone help me bring my belongings to the dirty smelly room. Those sheets were clearly not fresh but I just wanted to sleep.in the morning when I checked out, I told the woman Judy Thompson that I would need to be compensated for all of this. She took $50 off my bill. I told her that wouldn't be adequate, and she told me I would have to speak to the property and pointed to the cards on the desk. I called on Monday and it was asked to speak to Judy Thompson the name on the card, she said it was her who was there when I checked out and I would have to speak to the property manager. I asked why she didn't just take a message for me at the time if that is what I would have to do after calling in. So she took the message. After not hearing back, I called again and spoke to another manager who took all my details and told me she would relay the message to the PM. They got back to me and told me no charge for the second night. I said it stands to reason that I should not pay for that night since I didn't get my nice comfy room but how are you going to compensate me for all the wasted time and discomfort and forcing me to sleep in a dirty smelly room? She checked again with the PM and said that was all the compensation they felt was necessary since there was no problem on the first night. I am not happy with this and for all the problems feel you should further compensate me under the circumstances. Please tell me how you can fix this problem and make me feel less cheated.
hotel room bug infestation conf#: [protected]
Dear Owner,
Conf #: [protected] Purchased 2 nights checked in Oct 19 however we checked out Oct 20 due to infestation of cockroaches and other bugs.
I attempted to send an email yesterday but apparently had to many pictures attached and it did not send. See video at the bottom.
We had planned on staying at your hotel for 2 nights as we were in need of rest. We checked in very late Friday night and slept in til late.
When I got up I say several signs around the room that made me feel it had not been cleaned very well or at least the floor swept.
Then when I saw a live cockroach crawling on the wall I knew the room had not been recently exterminated. I killed it flushed it and tried to forget. Then as I walked out of the bathroom saw a larger cockroach, and over by the desk/lamp table saw another live one that was smaller than the one near the bathroom.
As my husband was shaving there was a very small one crawling on the bathroom floor. There were at least 4 different sizes of cockroaches in our room not to mention spiders. I have multiple photos that are date and Town stamped.
We could not stay the second night after seeing all of those live filthy cockroaches in our room.
I am requesting a full refund for our stay. I have stayed in many Red Roof hotels and have never stayed on one in such poor condition.
Sincerely,
Patricia Lesofski
cancellation cost
I booked a room at the Johnson City Tennessee location and when I arrived I was getting some things out of my car and had 2 different men make comments toward me and continued to look back at me as they were walking away. One of the men came back by my car 2 more times. By this time I had gotten back in the car and he done the same thing, made comments and staring back at me. I was alone and did not feel safe at that hotel at all. I called and cancelled the reservation right then. I don't feel that I should lose the $76 I paid for a room at a hotel I did not feel was safe just being in the parking lot. Yes I read the cancellation policy but my safety was more important and it should be with your company as well. Thank you
Tracy Murphy
room, amenities
Room is ok but light doesn't work over the sink, the top bed cover was dirty, the air doesn't work properly, and there out of toilet paper. I paid 340 for a week here and it's been rough. I was intending to stay a month here but everything is outta wack, and I'm not too happy about the conditions of the room or service. I cant even get a roll of toilet paper.
hotel
The last time I stayed at the Red roof inn located in Hattisburg Mississippi was August 17. On September 6 a charge of $343 appeared on my credit card. I contacted the hotel right away. I was told "yeah I know exactly who you are and the charge is a mistake and will be taken off. I immediately called my credit card company and filled a with dispute they charges. I submitted all my documents. They ruled in favor of the merchant without letting giving me a chance to respond to the statement he made. I disputed that decision and asked why and how could that happen. I was told that the owner of that RED ROOF INN LOCATED IN HATTIESBURG, Mississippi respondedand and told the credit card company that I presented my card to him September 1. He picked the wrong day! That is my birthday and I had people around all day long. I did end up getting my money back. But not the cash BREAKAGE DEPOSIT FEE that I paid.
I paid a $50 cash breakage deposit. The owner told me I could not have that back because there was blood on the sheets. NO BLOOD! My son had gotten Nutella on the sheets of 1 bed out of the 2 rooms we had. I know for fact that Nutella washes out because we have been eating it for quite a while now.
Still that's NOT BREAKING anything so why did I not get my BREAKAGE DEPOSIT back?! I called. I emailed. Nobody from red roof Inn nor the chain itself has gotten in touch with me except for an email with that said they were sorry to hear that my stay didn't go as well as I would have like that. The stay wasn't the problem. The problem was and still is the con artistic that runs the hotel. Already found another overcharge that was charge to my card a second time. $200. So they still owe me $250. But it would be nice if somebody from the red roof Inn guest relations would call me back.
The red roof Inn is not a nice hotel. It's a very practical hotel. You don't get a room key until you've already paid. They never contacted me and said they would be charging me again or that there was a possibility of being charged again. They, I should say HE, was just hoping that I wouldn't notice. From not getting any responses from the RED ROOF INN hotel chains guest relations and from the actions of the owner himself, my personal opinion is that he has done this multiple times to multiple people. Again that last part is just my opinion. and the actions of the owner himself my personal opinion is that he is done this and multiple times to multiple people. Again that last part is just my opinion
Warning! If you do stay at a red roof inn especially in Hattiesburg, Mississippi only use your credit card through a third-party app like Hotels.com, Expedia, or whatever else. Just do not give your credit card information to the hotel itself.
reservation
I just stayed at the Red Roof in Herkimer, NY 10/8-10/9/18. I booked these rooms through a wedding blocking back in March! I needed 6 suites, which I booked all under my name. I was told 4 suites would be on the 1st floor and 2 would be upstairs, which was not a problem. 2 of those rooms were a 2 nite stay 10/7-10/9/18. I specifically asked to have my elderly parents on the 1st floor as we were told there was no elevator. He said that wasn't a problem. Well, of course my parents arrive on 10/7 and not only did they get a 2nd floor room, but the farthest away from the other guests. Multiple complaints were made and no compensation to my parents. I would think if I booked rooms for a wedding party we would all be together.
We were told about the breakfast, where the room was which was a walk from the suites that you pay more for...but were not told of the times. Naturally missing it.
The rooms were nice and clean.
I stay at Red Roof quite often, but am disappointed in this stay. My parents were the ones that suffered the most having to climb the stairs for 2 days.
I feel they should be compensated for their inconvenience.
room condition
Price was right but room conditions were not acceptable. Did not contact front desk for one night stay.
Noticed room was musty. Since it was warm out, the AC was on. It was a wall - under the window unit. I checked the removable filters. Since they can be cleaned, I rinsed them out. See pictures attached.
Also non-moveable windows were very dirty inside and out.
Room could use a painting.
red bumps all over my arms/ money back
I stayed at the one in Neptune beach and woke up with red bumps on my arm. I tried to get my money back and they denied me! I'm very angry with this hotel when a costumer wakes up with red bumps in the morning, you would think they had respect to give them the money back! I'm trying to get ahold of who's in charge. Pls call me [protected]! My bumps were really bad the first morning I woke up! It's gotten a lot better but it was all over my leg arms and etc!
floors, bathtub, caulking,
We stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Merrillville, Indiana on Sept 14th 15th. We had been told previously that the motel had recently been "revamped". It is possible new furniture had been brought in, but the general condition of the room was not the best.
The first thing we noticed was a large stain in the bottom of the tub. We tries to rinse it away, thinking it was possibly residue from a cleaning agent. It did not rinse away. The caulking around the tub was in need of repair; in some places it looked like mold was collecting.
The freezer in the refrigerator needed to be defrosted for sure. Two other friends staying down the hall also complained about their freezers.
The final complaint I had was that the floors were dirty. The bottoms of my feet were black and I washed them off and took the washcloth to the office to complain. I was told the floor cleaner leaves a residue that in turn collects dust and dirt. This is not acceptable.
On a positive note, the linens were fresh and the water pressure was good.
Sadly, I won't be staying there in the future.
motel room at red roof inn
I booked a room off of Priceline for last night September 22, 2018 at the red roof inn in Virginia Beach Va . I wasn't expecting perfect since it was cheap but I sure wasn't expecting a room full of mildew & mold. The bed sheets, bedspread, ceiling, walls had it everywhere. It was terrible. Isn't that against the law due to health regulations? We ended up leaving and going home instead of staying at the beach. We were charged for the room and I think it should definitely be refunded. The people at the motel were non concerned. They were rude & unfriendly and could care less .
accommodations customer service
Upon checking in to DeFuniak Springs Red Roof Inn be requested a king room the only such room available in an empty parking lot had a dead battery in the door lock mechanism so we werr .oved to a double room in which we found several burn holes in the bedding and busted light bulbs in lamps. We went for breakfast early returning by 9 30 to find our room had already been cleaned and we couldn't access it.
tv not working
After seeing that the TV was not working in our room I went down and reported to reception. Young lady told me to try rebooting it by unplugging from the back of the TV and the plug. This did not work. The receptionist was overworked as there was a constant flow of people coming through and walking in, she could not get up to let have a look at herself and did not offer us a change of room. We book into hotels occasionally from our camper van to experience a bit of luxury by watching programs on TV .
Please advise as to compensation for this lacking in service.
The coffee in the breakfast room was also very weak. Undrinkable.
Look forward to hearing from you.

price gouge, unscrupulous practice
*Update 9/20 - i called the hotel manager, Robin, directly and she said rates were already increased to football games in town... BS! - there was a hurricane and games were cancelled. They still didn't decrease room rates and charged the same rate during deplorable conditions of the hurricane. She also told me today that I wasn't welcome in their hotel anymore due to the complaint. Jay, the Regional Executive, has t even bothered to reach out to me to hear my complaint. * Raleigh, NC - Anyone else stay here last weekend during hurricane Florence? No power, partial
power, no air conditioning, water soaked floors, no elevator or ice... all for jacked up to $129 a night rooms ($40 more than the usual rate). No cancelling reservation for reward stays. Penalized and losing reward nights for checking out early due to the conditions. The hotel wasn't sold out. Prices should have been dropped, not increased, under these conditions. This is taking advantage of impacted individuals and price gouging! Even today, any and all possible discounts were not available (veteran, red hot deals, AAA, senior rates, etc...). I have reached out to hotel management and corporate offices. Thus far, no response other than "Sorry. Hope to see you again". I am contemplating a formal complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Please advise if you have concerns and a complaint as to business practices and we can circle wagons for a comprehensive complaint to BBB and make media outlets aware. Management can blame rates on it being an "event weekend"... WHAT? The event was a hurricane! Desk and housekeeping staff was as helpful as possible. However, I question management. Jay Moyer is the Regional Exec and refuses to even contact me to discuss and even refuses to refund my last night (on which I checked out BEFORE checkout the day of).
I am a red roof inn member. I stayed at the red roof inn located in Lexington NC location. I only stay at a red roof inn because they are pet friendly which is awesome. I have stayed at numerous locations along the east coast and quite familiar with the fees. We stayed at this location because of the driving conditions due to the hurricane.
When I was quoted $159 for night which was approximately 8pm. I immediately stated that this was price gouching. The attendant said due to the weather that was the cost and that all of the hotels in the area was booked.
I then said to him -come on that's not ok. He then stated for you I will charge $99. After the stressful conditions we were just ready to check-in. After applying the senior discount - we still ended up paying $119. We know this was not the standard rate. This was not ok!
The date was 9/16/2018.
If any additional information is needed please let me know.

I have now contacted the Better Business Bureau, three different investigative reporters for television stations here in Raleigh, two reporters for local newspapers, and the public relations company that handles all of red roof Inn. I am so sorry that you also had to deal with something like this and hopefully there will be some type of investigation and restitution if enough people complain. I also have filed a formal complaint with the North Carolina attorney general for price gouging. Jay Moyer Is the regional executive for the area that includes North Carolina and he did not even bother returning my phone call.
customer service and check in at the red roof inn galveston tx
Today 09/10/2018 I booked a room at the Red Roof inn on priceline.com and had confirmation of booking on hand when I tried to check inn I was informed that not only did I have to pay a cash deposit I have stayed here before it's never been necessary the front desk clerk was extremely rude and unprofessional. She informed me that not only was my card declined but I had not used the card I had a receipt for there was no way she could help me. I called priceline who immediately called the hotel and the clerk didn't answer the phone for over 20 min I was in lobby watching her there were no guests waiting or being helped I had to tell her 3 times that priceline was calling then when they finally got through she informed me that the safe fee of 1.50 declined the charge not so I had confirmation she said I only had to pay 42.00 but had already paid 50.00 for reservation before the depisit. Booked a king room got a double. The power outlets don't work on one part of the room when requested a manager or supervisor was informed they have the day off there was no one in charge today apparently and I had to look this information up myself to complain about the service and way my husband and I were treated.
red roof inn rooms
I booked 3 rooms in preparation for the hurricane. I booked these rooms because they were pet friendly. When we arrived the front desk employee was excellent. We entered our rooms and was shocked to find the rooms dirty. The bedding was stained, dirty and had burn holes. The bathroom was moldy, the floors were filthy so filthy that we would not take our shoes off. The rooms smelled so bad from cigarette smoke it was unbearable. The absolute worst thing was the roaches crawling all over the walls. One room was so bad the hotel clerk moved him to another room, which wasn't much better. The only difference between the first room and the second room was a microwave and a refrigerator, the room was just as dirty. We paid $73 per room plus tax and we all slept in our vehicles that night and left first thing in the morning. My cat went under the bed and when I went to retrieve him there were condoms, restaurant take out containers, and other filth under the bed. No one has cleaned under that bed in a very long time. I will be writing corporate asking for my money back since we never used the 3 rooms. We wasted time and money and still put our lives in jeopardy by leaving during the hurricane. But we had no choice, the rooms were horrible and are not fit for habitation. Unfortunately, there were no other hotels that had vacancies due to the hurricane.
horrible service and customer service
My husband and I checked in on September 13 thru 15, 2018 when we checked in the room smelled, had roaches, and the refrigerator didn't work, later on that evening we told someone at the front desk about the refrigerator, he offered us another room but we told him we wanted to stay cause I cleaned the room to help it smell better. The clerk assured us he would get the refrigerator replaced and called maintenance. Maintenance came to the room and knocked so light I wasn't sure I heard a knock, he waited until we fell asleep and tried to enter without announcing who he was. The next day we told the front desk and they sent someone to our room when we were gone to replace the refrigerator, I am not sure who did this but someone stole my husband's cell phone while we were out between the time of 9:00 a.m and 9:30. We reported this incident to the front desk and was told the incident would be investigated and someone would call but the was 3 days ago. This place was installing cameras when we were checking in but still no result. I have filed a police report and left a message letting the owner know the phone will cost $75 to replace because of my insurance. I still haven't heard from this place and every time I talk to someone all I hear is " I'm sorry that happened". I need to call the building inspector and health department on them
cockroach in the room
9/15/2018 I stayed at the red roof plus in Austin Texas . I got a standard suit on the 3rd floor, once I open the door to the room, I turn on the lights I see 3 Cockroach crawling on the wall . I went to the lobby and talk to the person in charge the gave me a better room but the suit room had dead Cockroach by the toilet .
I couldn't leave all the hotels where booked due to the football game
terrible stay at red roof inn mobile alabama, i-65.
Paid for Supreme King room. NO coffee pot. NO hair dryer. Roaches in nightstand drawer. Outside trash containers running over. Sink faucet stuck, drains very slow.
Very arrogant front desk person at 7:30 am. Very disappointed. Have been a loyal Red Roof Inn Redicard member for several years now. The 1800RedRoofInn staff is always helpful when making reservations. Paid $75 for this room and what a mistake that was. Very convenient location to the Interstate. I would not advise staying at this hotel under any circumstances. They seem to be well under staffed.
Expect a lot more from Red Roof Inns.
