Select Home Warranty Repair of refrigerator Freeze

1. Called Select on June 12, 2022, freezer not working in new refrigerator.

2. June 19th, 2022, you contractor finally came to the house for diagnoses and ordered parts.

3. New part installed July 2, 2022, late morning temp 55 Degrees. Buy 9PM the freezer still at 55 degrees so I called Select again and told them it was no better.

4. As of today July 6, 2022, it's still not repaired.

I personally made multiple phone calls to Select and continue to get passes around. I ask to speak to a manager and not customer service again, and though they said they would it still hasn't happed!

Is this what you call customer service? Maybe that's acceptable for your company but in my career over the past 40+ years this would be grounds for immediate dismissal if we ever treated our customers this way.

My hope is that this reached Joesph Shewm or James Wilson, so they know how their customers are truly being treated.

Select Home Warranty Replacement.

Select home warranty had a service man come out to my house for my dryer. They were from Sears.

Part was ordered but when we came in it didn’t work. I ordered a second apart and it came in broken. The third time it was ordered it didn’t work at all with the other part that came in earlier.

Sears home warranty guy said that he would go ahead and contact select home warranty to replace my dryer. Since it happened in the first 30 days of my service they will not replace it at all.

I quit their service about three weeks ago because the plumber didn’t come for three days and he was supposed to be there and didn’t call either. Plumber said they don’t call him back either. So I quit the service and yet I can’t get a new dryer because it happened within the first 30 days of my joining. Usually the warranty companies I’ve had in the past they always Mail me a copy of my contract. This company did not.

Also didn’t tell me that they weren’t covering it when they came out here.

Sears warrants their parts for 90 days yet the parts didn’t work.

Select says they only warrant for 30 days.

Select Home Warranty Home warranty breach of contract policy number 1063401- demand for payment of 8500.00

I have two outstanding claims that were never resolved and I want to file two small claims lawsuits. I need the agent of register to do this - I have called and emailed regarding my two claims for over 8 months and in Feb. 2022 my warranty ended and there was no way I wanted to renew. I still have a air conditioning claim outstanding from sept 2021 and a heating claim from dec. 2021. I called and emailed over 200 times with no action or response.

I submitted all receipts and I finally had to hire a contractor to install a new air conditioning unit since the compressor failed and a HVAC contractor to install a new unit since the 2 blowers needed replacing. I submitted invoices and had the contracters speak directly to agents of the company with no action or assistance. Express pros determined the compressor on the air conditioner failed and new a/c unit was needed. No response ever.

Select home warranty was unable to find a contractor for my heater so they told me to get my own - so I had NOW heating and air come out and they submitted the needed repairs. All receipts were submitted to Home select warranty multiple times and no response. I am now demanding payment for 8500.00 for money spent for both units. And I need the registered agent of the company and address to start litagation. Linda Reely [protected]

Select Home Warranty Refund for the second and third year that was prepaid

I paid $1125 for three years services. After one year of unsatisfied services and continue to denied claims for one reason or another, I requested to cancel as of my first year of the contract and ask for the balance of second and third year to be refunded. I received the check for $414.63 today. When I called to ask why I do not get $750, the person tried to tell me they have to deduct my first claim paid from last year and $75 for the fee. I have follow all their instruction when to call and submitted all my written notice according to my contract. They reassured me there will not be a fee if I called within Jun 1st thru Jun 19th to cancel since my first year contract is Jun 19th. Also the only claim paid was last year which fall in the first year of the contract. It has nothing to do with the reminder second and third years of my refund! Therefore I should be getting $750 and not the $414.63.

Desired outcome: To get my reminder refund of $335.37

Select Home Warranty Select Home Warranty Platinum Plan

I purchased this plan last year and, since then, have submitted six different claims for various issues (plumbing, electrical, AC, irrigation) and ALL SIX have been denied for one reason or another. We had pre-qualified these types of claims PRIOR to purchasing the policy, in a supposed recorded conversation; however, no one seems to know where that recording is.

The latest denied claim is a result of us having more than one HVAC unit in our home. The company states this is not within the purview of the policy and that we should have purchased an optional rider for the second and third units. This is information we were NEVER told before now, as we submit a claim.

This company has a bait and switch philosophy and all consumers should STAY AWAY from Select Home Warranty. STAY AWAY.

Been having the same issue. We were sold a bill of goods by sales stating if we cant fix the appliance we will replace it with a like unit. I have had 3 claims and even though they are very polite they seem to never be able to find the parts so they offer $150 as a cash reimbursement that is impossible to comprehend when you have to buy a $1000 dishwasher or $750 dollar microwave. The excuse is always we only pay the "Depreciated value" Total BS.

Select Home Warranty Home Warranty

I am a single, legally blind female senior who recently purchased a new home. New to the area, and not knowing any reputable plumbing, electric or HVAC companies, I purchased a home warranty from Select Home Warranty (SHW) company. After the warranty period began, I called SHW about a problem with my hot water heater. I went through the claim process and after a week of waiting for a technician, I received an email from SHW stating they could not find a technician and I needed to find my own. I did not know about the reimbursement option, and no one I talked to as SHW explained it to me either. I had to pay the cost myself. I had been "covered" by the SHW "warranty" for less than a year and they left me to fend for myself. I felt that I had been scammed out of $1934.96 ("warranty price") and all I got for my money was excuses and no resolution whatsoever.

I contacted SHW again about a warranty issue. On Monday May 16th I called because I was having a plumbing issue. After my phone call with the manager, I received an email to call the "escalations team". On Thursday May 26, called and spoke with Nicholas. We discussed cancelling my policy and getting a refund. He then proceeded to tell me that he did not have a computer to send me information about a refund to me. He could talk to me but could not send me anything in writing. Nicholas did tell me he would have billing send me the refund information.

I received an email from Ron Smith a "manager in the executive customer relation department", to call him. I returned his call Friday May 27. From the beginning Mr. Smith was aggressive, rude and kept trying to bullying me by interrupting me and talking over me. I asked him what SHW would pay as a refund of my policy. I asked for that information in writing. Mr. Smith told me that he could tell me about the numbers over the phone but not in writing, he said that the billing department could only provide those number and his would be an estimate. I asked him to send me the estimate via email and he agreed.

I have not received any information regarding my cancellation/refund options and no technician has been sent to my house to work on my plumbing issue. This has been almost a month.

Select Home Warranty Wont cover the item she is trying to claim that an electrical outlet is an appliance not an electrical component

SHW says the install of item is not covered. because it is an appliance. The item is an electrical outlet and a gfi outlet. They repaired one in 2021 with the same problem in 2021. without issue.

your representative put me on a long hold and then ended the call after he promised to get me someone who could help me.

SHW is in breech of contract.

Select Home Warranty Refund

We have tried for over three months to be reimbursed by our home warranty company for the service that was completed on our home back in January. In addition to getting the run around to get someone to take a look at the leak in the plumbing that was leaking through the ceiling of our garage from our master bathroom, we finally get in touch with someone and they told us someone would contact us in a couple of days. Another two weeks went by after many attempts to contact the company. Our property manager found someone to take a look at the leak and he quoted us $585. However, they finally sent a plumber who wanted to charge double the amount. Because the leak was badly damaging the walls, we decided to go with the first plumber. This was after the company promised we would be reimbursed up to $500. It is now June and we have been trying to get reimbursed since February/March. Every time we call, they tell us to look for an email within the next 24-48 hours. We have tried several times. The second time they told us it was because they sent the check to the plumber instead of us, even though we sent a claim showing that we already paid the plumber. They promised to rectify the situation and to wait another two days (even though a month had already passed). We called again a few days ago and we receive the same spill that it is being escalated to the back office and wait another two days (now almost two months since the original contact). This time we waited three days to giv ethem time to get their act together. Now they are telling us that the request for the email to send us a release to reimburse us for money owed to us is still processing. After more heated conversation, she comes back onto the phone and reverts back to the original problem, which is the plumber was sent the check and we have to wait some more for the problem to be fixed. Meanwhile, we cannot cancel our service until we receive our refund.

Desired outcome: We would like our refund. Also, we would like for this company to be identified as using fraudulent practices.

Select Home Warranty every claim is denied

I have submitted multiple claims ( heating, plumbing, refrigerator, dishwasher, etc) and all but 1 have been denied. The refrigerator was the last straw, the claim was denied prior to anyone even coming out to look at the refrigerator.

The funniest thing is I have the most expensive plan and yet nothing is covered. I would hate to see what the simplest plan covers. lol

I will definitely tell all my friends and family to not use Select home warranty.

Select Home Warranty Claim #: [protected] & Claim #: [protected]

Since purchasing this home warranty, I have submitted a total of four claims. My first claim concerned a plumbing problem, which was taken care of within a 24-hour time period. My second claim concerned my septic tank. My third concern was another plumbing problem in my second bathroom. My fourth claim concerned an electric socket (1) in my kitchen.

The 2nd claim was denied after the septic needed to be pumped before the problem could be fixed, a loss of $60.00. They apologized for the sales representative giving false information concerning septic tank repairs and offered a free claim to have my air conditioning evaluation. After reading complaints on air conditioning replacement, repair & maintenance, I declined their offer.

For my last two claims, I've received e-mail messages stating:

We do apologize for this delay as our dispatch department is still working on your claim. Unfortunately, our technicians are backed up at the moment. In an effort to expedite your claim you do have the option of Securing your own Service Provider to come and diagnose the issue. 1. All consumers are given a $100 pre-set Authorization limit. 2. Reimbursement is ONLY available for covered repairs. Please see the Terms and Conditions. 3. If the total repair is above the pre-set $100 Authorization limit, please call our Authorization department from 9 am est-7 pm est at [protected] before you perform any repairs. Failure to obtain authorization for the repairs may delay the processing of your reimbursement.

4. Please email the repair invoice to [protected]@selecthomewarranty.com and include your policy # and the Authorization # if applicable.

5. Once received, you will be sent a "Reimbursement Form" to sign and send back, please allow 30 days to receive your check (A waste of time after reading other complaints concerning reimbursements from Select Home Warranty.

Realistically, I both know that due to COVID-19, contractors' rates and the cost of supplies have risen. If I were to submit an invoice over the amount that you will pay, my research reveals that Select Home Warranty will refer to your contract and quote a section concerning the claim, which gives them the authority to disapprove the claim.

So customers are in a no-win situation and must pay for the services that they have submitted a claim for.

Desired outcome: I am requesting a refund for the remaining months of my contract. I am requesting that the administrative charges be added to the refund amount. I expect to receive your check within a timely manner of less than 30-days.

Select Home Warranty Air Conditioner

I am very displeased with this home warranty company. They will not replace my unworking AC compressor. They give too many excuses not to fix it. But the biggest problem is that no agent can speak English in a way that I can understand. Their workers are all foreign with thick accents. The words they say have compassion and empathy, but they are only reading from scripts. There is no feeling from the heart. It is a business that sucks money out of the customers and doesn't give back. I don't know why they say they are number one in the nation and I feel their advertising is dishonest.

Details:

In September 2021 our AC stopped cooling our home. They booked an appointment, but then canceled it because it was below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. They said to call in the Spring. We called in the spring of 2022 and they sent out a man who said we needed new refrigerant and it would cost $838 because it is old freon, not manufactured anymore. He denied that we needed a new compressor. Select won't pay for new refrigerant and they wouldn't get us a 2nd opinion. We got ourselves a second opinion who said we needed a new compressor. Select won't replace the compressor.

Desired outcome: We wanted to have our 21 year old compressor replaced with one that worked and would cool our house.

Select Home Warranty Garage Door Opener Repair Claim #[protected],,Policy # [protected]

We filed a claim for non-functioning garage door opener. It was denied1/4/2022.

Indicating a garage door was not covered under our policy. It was not the garage door that was defective but the actual garage door opener which has to be replaced. The claim was denied out of hand and no technician was called to inspect the opener or the door. I feel this was not good service and the claim was denied out of hand. I would like to speak to someone one on this issue simce there was a mechanical motor failure that was replaced and I feel we should have been reimbursed but certainly better customer service.

Desired outcome: I would like reimbursement for the replacement of the garage door opener dince no technician was sent to my house to inspect the issue and the claim eas denied out of hand.

Select Home Warranty Not honoring claim for home warranty

The home I live in is 5 years old and I purchased it 6 months ago. My agent paid to Select Home Warranty $500 to cover home appliance repair. I called Select Home Warranty to place a claim. My air conditioning unit had a chemical odor emitting from vents. They sent an A/C technician. The technician went into the attic and located the problem as the fan unit had burned out. I am 77 years old and live in Arizona where inside my house the temperature is 90 degrees. The technician sent pictures for the repair and was waiting for approval to proceed. Select Home Warranty refused to honor the request. I was told I must present 3 years of maintenance. I purchased this home 6 months ago and I don't know the previous owners. My complaint is this company will find any reason not to honor the home repair request. I asked to speak to someone who could waive that condition but could not get beyond the entry level person answering the call. I was told if I could not provide 3 years of air conditioning maintenance, they would only pay $150 toward the repair of $970. I am retired, on a fixed income which is one reason my realtor purchased the warranty so I would not have to worry about repairs.

Desired outcome: Honor my request to pay the entire bill for the repair my A/C as submitted by the A/C company Alpha Mechanical LLC.

This company refused to honor a claim regarding a leak in the basement pipe. This should be a quick plumbing fix but they refused to process the claim. When I canceled my policy, they charged me a $75 dollar cancellation fee. Terrible company.

Select Home Warranty Home Central air conditioning repairs

I began having an issue with my Home Central Air Unit, on Sunday May 8th, 2022. I sent a request via your Web site, selecthomewarranty.com/claims and got no reply. On Monday May 9th 2022 I called select home warranty at [protected] and made a 2nd request via telephone. I waited 24 hours and called again On Tuesday May 10th. On Wednesday May 11th 2022I made a #rd request via telephone. On Thursday May 12th 2022 I made a 4th request via telephone and this time I was contacted by a repair company that promptly came to my house and made an inspection on my outside and inside central air unit. He informed me that the issue was the compressor and needed to be replace. He further informed that he would contact Select Home Warranty and inform them of my repair problem. He further said that he would probably be back in the morning to make the repair. His inspection of the inside unit indicated the coil was clean and in working order. On Friday May 13th 2022 I called the repairman and learned that he was told that Select Home Warranty was going to contact me concerning this repair. I then called Home Select Warranty and inquired as to why the repair was not being done. I was then informed that I needed to take pictures of my central air unit and submit a maintenance report of my unit and email this to Selecthomewarranty.com/claims so that my issue could be resolved.

After eleven days they have still not resolved my issue. They inform me that my case is under review.

Select Home Warranty is not what it is supposed to be, I may be a scam.

Select Home Warranty Denied claim without probable cause

AC unit was not cooling properly so I contacted SHW to file a claim. The company sends out a technician who diagnosis a Freon leak and low Freon so the claim was not covered. I hired the company 4 days later to come out and replace the coil system and during install they discovered the compressor was inoperable. A diagnosis of the compressor and recommendation to replace the entire unit was provided to SHW. The claim was just denied citing the technician reported the issue was attributed to the leak, lack of maintenance, and age of unit. All are complete lies and untrue. When I called customer service to speak to a supervisor Bell ext. 0165 insisted a denial could not be disputed and the resolution team was accurate. This company wants your money but refuse to do the right thing by covering your equipment. I’m in contact with an attorney and will pursue legal actions.

They are supposed to cover us for repair or replacement. A tech came out and was unable to repair my dryer. Between my wife and I, we have logged at least 30 call with Select Home Warranty and they have given us the run-a-round. I have been without a dryer for more than two months now. They are polite and courteous on the phone an pretend they are escalating the repair or replacement but nothing is done. we have received no call backs from them ever! You never get the same technician twice. They are a scam and I would say DO NOT BUY SELECT HOME WARRANTY!

Desired outcome: Repair of replace the dryer as per my contract!

Select Home Warranty I need HVAC serviced/repaired - got no service after 4 calls

Called 5/10/2022 with issue - Upstairs HVAC not cooling and may need maintenance - got email on 5/10/22 at 10:15 saying "issue you are experiencing is maintenance related" and that "Maintenance related issues are not covered by your policy".

Called 5/10/2022 - to determine status of claim. Apparently a second email was sent on 5/10/2022, but not received by me, saying the claim was rejected. I reiterated that the AC was not working and was then asked to provide 3 years of HVAC maintenance records. I bought the house less than a year ago (7/23/2021) and did not have 3 years of records. Spoke to a resolution resource who indicated that the initial claim would be adjusted, and a technician sent out to repair.

Called 5/14/2022 - same story as above - said they would send an email updating claim - no manager available to escalate issue to.

Called 5/16/2022 - same as above - wanted 3 yrs records - got a resolution resource when threatened to cancel policy - got an email technician would come in 2 to 3 days.

Desired outcome: I want the company to perform services contracted for without the need of four phone calls.
