warranty rejected after 1 month usage!!!
Hi, I am Itumeleng Freetz and bought an Essential stove last on [protected] at Eloff Street and the stove worked for a month. I returned this to Shoprite in Kagiso 0n 18/08/2017 and the lady by the name Rosemary rejected my claim and said the stove wasn't looking "OK" due to dark plates. This rosemary came shouting from their top floor and so unprofessional and uneducated, telling me the stove is not a claim. i want a refund or exchange.

checkers retail store - service & products
Todate 9 August and still no response from Checkers Forrest Hill. This happened on Thursday 27th July approx. 2:30 in the afternoon, we went to your Checkers branch at Forrest Hill. What Cheese promotion! Upon arriving in the half empty Checkers, we proceeded to the cheese where you have a special on buy one and get one small one 230g free. After not finding the smaller one, we had to go seek the Manager, who in turn told us it was a “rain check” and that we get a slip of paper and have to come back to collect the 230g another day. What type of special promotion is that, when the actual signs for cheese special does not specify t&c’s etc.
Odours The shop in the area by the meat and the dairy products had a very unpleasant, foul smelling odour which is off-putting when you want to purchase products.
Express till & tellers The express till had two ladies working, we were a queue of 5 people, whereupon the one lady just got up and closed her till, as tea time clearly and proceeded to walk off. There were only two till operating on the normal tills and it seemed staff were in training on the day. The shop was not at all busy, so no excuse for the long delay at the till waiting.
Some of the shelves were empty and staff loading stock onto shelves taking up space and areas not tidy in walking aisles.
Service Overall a bad experience at your Checkers branch and will definitely not go there again or refer your Checkers to anybody in the area. It suits us, as we live within the area, however will have to continue on to Kyalami Corner. There is not customer services at your Checkers branch and the Manager needs to treat customers with a little more manners.
Thank you and trust you can look into this matter and take it up with the relevant staff concerned. Some feedback would be nice.

I'm so angry at the moment, I bought mince meat and vors and other staff in limpopo bochum shoprite when I get home there's no mince meat and vors in my plastics, I guess the till packer mixed my grocery with the other lady who was in front of me, when I called the office, they checked with the cashier and after they told me that there is no vors and mince and they told me there's nothing they can do, so now I'm not going to cook because if them and they don't care...please tell what I should do

I was at Shoprite ( Thokoza-Khumalo street) on Friday morning, purchased some items there, went to the till and asked the cashier (Sonto), there were three ladies standing around. So I asked Sonto (Cashier) if she had R200 in her till she said No...before she could even finish her sentence Thandeka Modikua* said its way too early for withdrawals. So I asked her if she can check in other tills, she looked at me and said “I don’t know if you understand when I say we don’t have money” she rolled her eyes. So I thought to myself she was the manager…standing there with her hands in her pockets + sticking attitude. She then spoke to older (nice) woman-old enough to be my mother to check in the other tills if there was R200? What happened to respect for older people and where is the customer service in that?
This lady asked me nicely to follow her to the 4th cashier and I was assisted professionally by Mpho but behind my back this Thandeka girl kept on talking and making fun behind my back and I just looked at her and walked away…the girls around her were laughing. She went on and on as if I was stupid.
I have never been treated like this in my entire life at Shoprite, therefore I will not tolerate someone to talk to me like that because I also work with important clients and I make sure that I give my best service. I take my Job SERIOUSLY. I don’t judge a book by its cover, just because I didn’t look good enough for Thandeka that doesn’t give her a right to give me an attitude. If she didn’t want to assist Sonto, she should have just walked away because she was just standing there looking pretty.
I will not be humiliated and when I come to your store I don’t ask for free items, I buy with MY own money. Thandeka needs training on Customer service.

I will like to complain yesterday on the 18 July 2017 around about 6:30 pm, I went to Shoprite Checkers. At Chrisani mall in Vosloorus. I went to buy a baby formula for my bay, a Simililec formula 2. They keep me waiting for about 30 minutes then they told me that they don't have a price for the formula. And even when they ask the Manager the manager was not interested in assisting with getting the price they I had to live without getting a formula for my baby. I was not happy and very disappointed.
falsely accused of stealing facial wipes
On the 11th of july 2017 I was falsely accused of stealing facial wipes by the security at shoprite store, he then shouted and swearing saying (Angombuza ezakheni uyabophana yena akadlali) at me infront of everyone and then he locked me at the backroom of the store for an hour until they decided to reverse the cameras after that they found out that I did not came near that section. The thing is he never apologised to me. Today I decided to report him to store manager but she took security's side. I feel so humiliated and disrespected about this matter and I hope you will make a follow up about this issue.
no returns, even though item is on warranty
in December I bought a stove at shoprite (Tembokwezi ) in Mandalay, from last week it was not working properly, everytime i plug it, power tripped, so i returned it because its still on Warranty. The Manager by the Name of Kenneth Mafa Refused, stating that It is working on the shoprite Power, I meant how does one compare household power with that of Retail Shop. He was Very Rude !

My name is Tebogo Andrew Mtuedwa I am very unhappy to see how this store discriminate against its customers my question to the manager of this store is do you assume that the only people buying there are Muslims? why not everyone is catered at this store couple of days I went to the store to buy me pork meat but there was none and is not just to say is finished they don't sell it at all but you find 2-3 fridge shelves filled with hallal meat. I might be wrong and I will apologize if I am what I saw is pure discrimination against customers, we have Shoprite at Charlesville, gugulethu and Lansdowne they all sell pork WHY NOT Athlone ?

lucky star canned fish
I bought a lucky star canned fish today and as I opened the can to cook it, some awful foul smell came from it like it was rotten or something... I checked the expiry date and it was bb year 2020... I ignored the smell and then added it to the pot, and ewwww the smell came out really worse... The canned fish was rotten period!

I went to acornhoek shoprite store to buy dog food for my daughter's puppy and while paying for the food the manager was called to the till cause she was needed. She stared at me and finally told me that the reason she was staring is because she couldn't believe that I was buying food for a dog while there are people out there who needs food. She asked me if I didn't know any poor people in my area that I can buy food for instead of a dog. I asked her if she ever had a pet and she replied with a sarcastic no. And I responded that I don't blame her, she wouldn't know how to treat a dog. Although she apologized I still feel very offended. Shoprite please teach your staff on customer care.
they said the eduloan card transaction did not go through whereas it did, and they haven't reimbursed me.
the incident happened on the 1st of June 2017 at the mafikeng shoprite supermarket. where by i attempted to purchase good of the amount of R499.38 but the cashier after swiping my eduloan card told me that the transaction could not go through, i left everything there and went to another supermarket, where i realized skome amount of money was missing from the card, i went to school and they gave me an account statement proving that the transaction at shoprite went through. i notified the manager at the shoprite and they checked to see if myy stury was valied, and indeed was. the promised to refund me by Monday 05/06/2016. i waited that Monday but still, there had been no refund.my contact numbers are [protected].

Good day my name is maphatsoe senyane cell no. [protected] email : [protected]@gmail.com. On sunday morning just around 10h00 I visited one of your liqour branches in aliwal north. I want to buy a bottle of wine for my family, to my suprise when I was about to pay the cashier said he's waiting for the manage who was apparently on the other side of the store. We waitied for about 5 to 10 min as the cashier couldn't do any transaction. This lady (manager) came in very arrogant didnt even greet nor apologise no explanation what so ever, talked to the cashier and then wanted to leave the store. I called to get wantes to talk to her " she told me she doesn't have to talk. I was bad disappointed thinking of the manager can talk to us openly on the floor that way then who's gonna give the best services on this? I really angry. I didn't have choice but to buy that wine cos of time but i'm not sure I would be able to go back to that store.

I have a huge complaint with regards to one of your employees Mr. AE Cottage currently based at Shoprite liquor Blue Downs.
On Saturday 28th May 2017 @ 17:20 an incident accrued
Then liquor store usually close its doors when there are too much people inside giving everyone a chance to buy and get out then they are letting in only small groups at a time. Which is understandable because the shop space is so small.
Upon being 1st in the line I stood there for 30min waiting to be send it whilst Mr. AE Cottage let other people in even though I have been standing there for a while.
One guy come from behind to ask why he is doing that after he complaint he pushed the door open because this AE Cottage was unfair by letting people in only he knows
This guy that came from behind then went in and I followed because the door was now open then your employee (EA Cottage) pushed me against my breast and even when I asked him to please stop he continued pushing with his fists against my breasts.
This man not only touched but hurt my breast and I have witnesses people I don’t even know that even shouted at him asking why he is harassing me like that.
I went in and bought what I needed and upon me leaving I wanted to take a pic of his name badge since the casher refused to give me a pen to write down his name
Mr. AE Cottage grabbed me again assaulting me and said I am going nowhere I was extremely upset Firstly don’t any customer have the right to complain? secondly, I stole nothing I was a paid customer that was handled like a criminal kept behind closed doors. I was in tears because this man has no same to be so aggressive towards me and everyone in the store can see then I turned to the casher to ask why am I kept here if I did nothing wrong the casher replied that I must wait for the manager the manger came after 15minutes and I explained what had happened and he said I did not wrong they should let me go, I left the Shoprite liquor in tears.
Not only was I violated and assaulted by a man but I was treated as a criminal as well No one came to help what is this world coming to.
I am only sending this email today because my breast got swollen very bad afterwards and I am in a lot of pain.
I will be going to the doctor later today and If I don’t hear from you with regards to the above matter I will be laying a formal charge against FBS Security and Shoprite
With all the #MEN-ARE -TRASH going around on social media I don’t think anyone would hesitate to assist me in this matter

very uncomfortable temperature in store
No matter what type of day it is sunny, rainy or snowing, the store is so unbearable cold. Many customers that are going through the isles are shivering and stating how ridiculous this is that we have to rush through to get back in our cars to blast the heat and recover. Shoprite is the largest in brodheadsville and has the right idea with ceiling fans pushing the heat back down. I can't imagine how much the electric bill is . Sad that no body really seems to care about it. I know management states that there is nothing that they can do. I feel i can not be uncomfortable while shopping. Till something is done, i will go to shop rite.

I went to Shoprite Phumulani mall, when I get to the point of sale I asked the cashier that can I withdraw R80, they told me ( with attitude ) that they don't have it and looked away as if I'm rubbish infront of them. I then asked them again hoping that they come up with a solution " I only have R80 in my card what should I do now? They just told me go to another till meaning I should go and que again, This whole thing didn't sit well with I went to the Manager and complain, Managers apologized and try to get a person who assist me, when I get to that lady I was told that I can't withdraw because the card I was using it's written Mr on it, I then explain that the card it's for my son he's a minor he's only 7 years old, I'm then the one who can get access to the card until he turn 16, then I was told that I can't be assisted.

On the 23rd of March 2017 I visited Shoprite Randfontein Station Mall, Money Market Department. Three cashier ladies were present and only one was busy assisting a customer. They were chatting continuously without informing us that they are on break or whatever their reason were for not assisting us. Numerous complaints came from behind me and that is when the second lady started opening her system and decided to assist a customer that did not even queue. My argument is why do they not inform "us" the customers of any delays. Their service is appalling and unprofessional to say the least.

I was at shoprite today and bought hot cross buns when I got to the office it was old I then immediately threw it away. This is not the first time this has happened but I didn't bother complaining. I also bought smoked fish that was rotten and also samoosas which was sour. I was nausea and threw up immediately I could have been infected with food poisoning this is ridiculous. I support shoprite everyday and this is the service I get l am very upset and thinking of taking this matter further.
