I recently had to file a claim for one of my three cars covered by State Farm. I was very surprised to be told that I didn't have rental car coverage for a repair that is estimated to be three weeks. Interestingly, I do have it on one of my cars (the newest) but not the other two. I didn't know that I had to proactively tell the State Farm agent I wanted rental car coverage. Apparently State Farm doesn't think it should have informed consent even though the cost of rental car coverage will exceed my deductible and may get close to the cost of the repair. I did not explicitly request it on my one car but there it just happens to be covered. Why? Is this a State Farm initiative to blind side policyholders? I'm getting no answers. State Farm also required I install a used engine that they specifically picked from a garage. It was not usable but it set me back even further. No accountability as my expense increases. My email is [protected]@gmail.com. I prefer not to provide to many details publicly on this site.
Desired outcome: One week to full coverage for rental car.
Drive Safe and Save
Although this program provides great discounts, the mobile app is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE, especially when using mobile data.
It is not incommon to take 4 minutes or more to load trip data.
State Farm needs to get control of its IT department and improve the app or risk losing (more) customers. This problem has been known to the company for some time and it unconscionable that the problems remain unresolved
Desired outcome: Reasonable performance when operating on mobile data rather than a wifi connection to the internet.
lack of return call on calls about claim
I have been calling the handler on claim # 3321J322F numerous times since 10-15-2021 for an accident that happened on [protected] in N.C. The van involved belonged to my mom who resided in Florida as do I( I was/am her guardian ). She passed last December and my niece was to buy it. After having taken it to her in N. C. she was hit by another driver ( police report filed ) and I was contacted by State Farm on a claim. I misplaced the paper I wrote the information on, so it took a while to get information on whom to talk to about this. I have said in a couple of my messages that I work 2nd shift and the best time to reach me is before 2 pm and that I would like to have this resolved before the end of the year. Thank you. Jean Davis [protected].
Aaron Rodgers
I have been a State Farm customer for the last 38 years. While I like Aaron Rogers he is no longer a good person to be representing your company. I think you have to let him go and hire someone who believes in science and best medical practices. His position on vaccines is not one that your company should accept. By keeping Aaron, you are becoming part of the problem.
Angie Moore
Desired outcome: let Aaron Rodgers go.
Car Insurance
Stay away from this agency and State Farm. They are useless in all matters. They are especially useless when it comes to problems and issues. If you have a "Payment plan", they will charge you a different amount each month with no explanations whatsoever. When asked for an explanation as to WHY each month's payment number is different, they don't provide an answer other than they will look into it. They never do and they never get back to you. This agency and State Farm has now caused me to lose 10 days of work, and has forced my son to miss 10 days of school because of their incompetence. They have no clue what they are doing, and they will cause you many hours of problems. I thought going with a local agency after 31 years with Liberty Mutual would be a good thing. Boy, was I wrong. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired and they refuse to get back to anyone concerning issues or problems. They will be happy to provide you a phone number so YOU can try and resolve problems, but they will not lift a finger to help you. They walk away from problems and instead rely on the customer to take care of it. I had a policy with them for 19 months and will not be renewing it because of the lack of help and service from this agency. Go to another insurance agency that values your business. This agency could care less about your business. There are many insurance companies that value your business. This is NOT one of them. You have been advised.
Desired outcome: Report to NYS DMV that this policy was in effect and that there were no Lapses.
injury claim from auto accident
Claim # 40-20KP-54P I have spoken to 2 adjusters and they refuse to budge on their offer . After spending 700 dollars out of my pocket they do not want to take anything into consideration . It was a minor accident but that does not mean that i was not injured, all i am trying to do is try to recover part of what i have spent on pain management -nerve block, chiropractor charges, and the botox injections as well as x- rays, mri's and ct scans. All i am looking for is to try to split the cost, it is not my fault that my age tends to make things worse . I had nothing to do with causing the accident other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time and state farm driver are able to text and drive . If the amount i am suggesting maybe state farm needs to refund what my insurance companies have spent rather than 1/2 of my out of pocket.
Desired outcome: simply split the out of pocket expence
Claims
I got into a car accident October 2nd. And I have had to call almost everyday to get the claims department to do anything. It sat at one of your total loss lots for over a week. I called to see what was going on and the lady at the claims department was confused to why no one has looked at my car 6 days later. And it took another 6 days for them to then move my car back to the body shop. Where they started working on it. And realized it could not be saved. Because one of your team members only estimate half of my car. I am about to lose my rental car and your team could careless about it. I've talked to one of the manager with no help. Every time I've talked to her she has made me feel like I'm an inconvenience and not willing to help. I am just trying to move on with my life but your team is dragging their feet to get anything done. I am frustrated about losing my rental car because I have to live my life too. I can not go without a car.
Desired outcome: Get this done.
Home systems rider.
Trying again, not sure it went through the first time. I have a 30 year old furnace that won't start up. It needs at least $1000 in repairs. It operates at 65, % efficiency or less. I keep my house at 67 degrees in winter and my last heating bill back in March was over $160. The logical thing is to replace the furnace. But State Farm will only pay for repair after repair, with a $500 deductible, till it stops completely and bites the dust. So the rider I have been paying for is worthless. They are supposed to consider restoring it to capability, efficiency, and reliability with repairs but since repairs can't be guaranteed, because it is so old, they aren't. So I plan to drop the rider.
Desired outcome: $2000 toward the new $4000 furnace I am being forced to buy and have installed with updates.
service
I inquired an insurance quote from a State Farm Agent Guy Matsumoto and he did not respond back to me. I called and left a second message and he still did not return my call.
Auto Insurance: Safe n Save program
A premium reduction program that requires installing a module that they will send you to be connected via Bluetooth APP on your cell phone. This implementation is required to get premium reductions based on driving habits, mileages, etc.
However, when trying to install on cell phone.. following stated instructions, the APP will not download to phone.. no matter one follows their stated protocol and implementation steps.
Their website does not respond to inquiries for assistance.. their website appears to be designed by an "anti-social" technical team to obfuscate customer service requests. It is not user friendly as it is not obvious whee to go for assistance... and since I cannot implement the Safe n Save APP as it is not downloaded by using their designated text address to do so.
I contacted their tech support function via website but have never received any contact to resolve problem. Thus, I can only conclude their "Safe n Save" option is a great sales tool, but... as a non-functioning item, State Farm can proceedurally not discount my premiums. They appear to "blame the user" instead of taking responsibility in fixing a problem.
Desired outcome: I want State Farm to assist in the installation of their required cell phone APP to make it work, and enjoy a lower premiums.

Like a good neighbor the thief are there. Yes the thief are there. If your going to do business with State Farm don't do it with the one in Scottsville Kentucky on Veterans hwy. When you go with them you get a beacon on which detects your driving to get a discount for safe driving. Which I thought? We had problems with this beacon from day one. We told the so to call agent named Jeannine we had problems. We got hounded email after email to turn it on or rates will go up. told her it is on. Still didn't work, sent us another one, still didn't work, we brought the situation up to her. Before you know it the rates went up almost $60 a month. Over the negligence of Jeannine. We called her and now suddenly she is always busy with a customer. Apparently they are quick on taking a withdraw out of the bank, but not there to answer your question when they knew they were well Jeannine was in the wrong. My bottom line she is a thief without the gun. They promise you all this and that, but end results they steal it back. If you go to this State Farm, don't deal with Jeannine she is rotten at her job and a liar and a thief and can't deal with her problems that come with the job and the broker isn't any better he knows nothing when it's his company. Wow real Winner. Guess next step is corporate.maybe we can get straight answers. If I can I would give this thieving company a -5 and that's being generous, fair warning to the public like a good neighbor them thieves are there. Not to mention Jeannine calls my
wife and says if I have anything to say to her she would gladly hash it out with me.sounds like a verbal or physical threat to me.real proffesional to your customers.
Desired outcome: Direct outcome is we want credit back to $60 of Jean Ines mistake not calling us and not taking g care of our broken device like ask to months Go
safe n Save is a clever marketing idea... fails for some policy holders as the APP is not loaded on cell phone with no notice as to why. Seeking tech support at State Farm is a non-sequitur as no one responds to inquires. Seems like by intent, as a sales inducement it is very appealing since I am retired and drive very little compared to most policy holders. Like most large corporations these days it's run for the benefit of those that run it.. and ruin it for customers. If I was a stock holder, I would show up at meetings and demand exec's either be "good neighbors" or find other employment... it would be one small step in the right direction for me, a consumer.. but perhaps start a movement to make "free enterprise" adhere to it's fundamental ethos: "consumer sovereignty" .. i.e the consumer is "sovereign" in deciding a company's success or failure.
CLAIM 13-06b5-88l
For almost 2 years, about 10 people were assigned. None of these persons sent an adjustor for appraisal.
Very difficult contact with these people, both through pandemics and working from home, and avoiding these people immediate help in the assessment of the damage.
After a very long time, the leader sends me forms to be signed and certified by a notary public.
Despite meeting all these requirements, State Farm refuses to pay compensation for damages.
State farm gladly accepts money, thank you for being customers for many years, but refusing to cover the losses for damage.
This is a parody, a circus on balls, SHAME.
Renters Insurance
I experienced a loss of all my personal property- everything I own because of Hurricane Ida damage and STate Farm wants to low ball me and tell me to get my items that have been sitting in water from a roof being blown off, repaired. For everything I had they want to offer me $2700 and then take off the $1000 deductible to give me $1700. I guess that is how it goes when you spend all your money on commercials with big names like Aaron Rogers and Patrick Mahomes. What a joke!
Total like of communication from state farm on claim
On 8/1/21 a car left the road and damaged our property. 8/2/21 I reported the damage to State Farm. Did not hear back from them so I called them again I think on the 8/13. Was told to send them pictures of the damage and that they were waiting to talk to their insured party. That I should go ahead and get quotes for the damage. Which I did and sent to them on 8/16. One of the issues was damage to a very large oak tree. Large area of bark was peeled from the tree.
In the documentation I sent I express my concern that the damage may cause the tree to rotten or die later and what was my recourse. I never received any communication from State Farm. They sent me a check for part of the damage. With no explanation. On 8/18 I sent them and email and again on 8/24 about the open issues of the damages not paid and the issue about the oak tree. On 9/21 after not response to my email I resent to the Claims website under my claim#. 9/16 the claims website still shows it assigned but not actions taken. I called State Farm and spoke to an agent and after being put on hold for a while was told I needed to get someone to come out and treat the tree and that they would pay the addition items they did not pay for on the original quote. I realize my complaint my seem petty but I am the victim. This is a company that does not communicate and could care less about being fair to the person that their insurer did damage to. Our damage accrued on 8/1 and it is now 9/16 and our claim is still not settled. We are not talking $10, 000.00 our materials and labor total was $1672.00 and some amount or agreement to the damage of our wonderful Oak tree. I cannot imagine having to deal with this company on a back wreck.
Desired outcome: We are not unreasonable we feel that State Farm should come look at our tree and give us a reasonable settlement or a recourse if the tree dies and has be removed at a later date. It is very large and would cost alot of money to remove.
Non Payment of claim
I had an open claim with State Farm due to the negligence of their insured driver . I had submitted an email to close the claim a month before the two year anniversary of the initial filed claim. After waiting a few weeks I had not heard back, so I resent a email stating again I would like to close the claim and move forward. The settlement was a small amount, just enough to cover my out of pocket expenses for medical appointments and insurance deductible. Ericka Beard was my representative and she could care less that her insured was at fault and had every excuse not to pay me. I'm very disappointed that I'll never recover my out of pocket expenses. I received a call back yesterday from state farm and they said there is nothing they can do because Texas has a two year limitation law. State Farm is horrible and I would never use them for any coverage on my vehicles. So please be careful out there and I pray you never have an accident with State Farm! They don't pay, they delay, they make excuses, horrible company!
Desired outcome: Out of pocket medical expenses
Home Owners Insurance Policy
To whom it may concern,
My husband has been with State Farm Insurance for 40 + years. We married 21 years ago and
subsequently I was from that point on a State Farm customer. We've had our occasional accident
throughout the years as well as you insuring our teenage son who had his fare share of incidents. To be
expected I'm sure given his age, car choice, and extremely high premiums into consideration.
We recently made a move to live in our Arizona home. I have worked as a Registered Nurse for
the better part of 45 years and had 3 home's insured with you at one point along with many vehicles.
Currently going through a refinance process on the only home we have a mortgage on now we
were informed by Wells Fargo that we needed to have our insurance policy rewritten to reflect primary
residence vs. rental dwelling. This was an oversight on our part seeing as the permanent move from
Lincoln, NE to Tucson, AZ was a little stressful with a lot of loose ends to tie up.
Our insurance agent Karen Cole informed us that an inspection of the property was necessary
prior to a possible policy change. We were horrified and downright insulted with the results. We were
told that the Lexis Nexis report indicated that our homeowner's insurance policy should be canceled
based on a Junk vehicle in driveway and Junk in the backyard.
The 2001 GMC 1500 Crew cab with 120, 000 miles in the driveway currently being worked on is
actually worth 9 to 15K currently. Junk?
We are only a few days away from closing on a refinance and our homeowners insurance policy
has been canceled because we have a messy back yard.
Thankfully my husband is a veteran and USAA was able to help us with a shift of our
homeowner's insurance and auto policies swiftly or it might have derailed our refinance we've been
working on since the beginning of June.
No words can describe how we feel regarding the treatment we have received from State Farm
considering we've been with them for so very long. I would imagine our paying into their purse totals
more than one million dollars over the years. Now that we are getting older, my husband retired, and
me nearing retirement, the fact that they would treat us this way after several small auto claims is
ludicrous.
If you, State Farm, wanted to cancel us you could have just let us know! The last second
scramble to find a new insurance company on the verge of our home refinance added much stress to
our lives!
If this is how you take care of lifelong customers and veteran's we are glad to go.
Regards,
Crystal Overman Tyler
Cari Fallen agency
I have been overcharged on my homeowners insurance and soon I will be overcharged on my auto insurance. I have sent this agency many emails and have been told several times everything is fine, which it is not. Having been a State Farm member for nearly 4 decades, I can honestly say this agency office is an embarrassment to State Farm. My expectations are not that high. All I want is a phone call or an annual face to face meeting to review my various lines of coverage to ensure I am neither over insured or under insured.
Desired outcome: Results
Homeowners insurance claim 01-12r5-36v
Claim was opened 10/20/2020. I have received very unprofessional adjustors and supervisor. Craig Hamby, Savannah Wilson, Dalia Glass, and Angela Pierce have made this experience a living nightmare. As of 8/18/2021 my home is still not complete. I have been lied to continuously through this process. I has been very difficult to find a contractor to complete my home. On 8/17/2021 I was told no more money was available to cover my hotel room by Angela Pierce. I asked her for her supervisor number and she did give it to me. I have not received a return called from Mr. Tennessee Williams. I have called his number a hundred times with no answer. Its sad this company employees would risk a lawsuit then take care of its customer.
Home owners insurance
I am complaining about bob scittina state farm agent he dropped my insurance because I had 2 claims sent me a cancellation letter then said he didn't said I had to get roof done i did then said he wouldnt reinstate didn't know i was definitely dropped now I haven't had insurance for months he played mind games.
Desired outcome: Reinstate my insurance
Unethical practice in resolving home owners insurance claim
I had to recently file a claim due to damage on my home. Claim number 22-21D177M that occurred on June 18, 2021. Your adjuster came out and evaluated the scenario and I then received two checks from you dated July 5, 2021. I held these checks (104870628J and 104870625J) until July 19 (10 business days!) and proceeded to follow the required steps to process the payments and deposit them into my account. This required me to go to a Chase Bank (my lein holder) and have a manager (Chris Oliverio phone: [protected]) do the requirement of signing off on them. Amazingly 5 business days later you help yourselves to my account and claim a stop payment on one of the checks.
My first question is: HOW was Chase Bank able to process this check per the requirements"? Is this your common way of operating? Alienate your customers? I REALLY DO NEED MY PROPERTY REPAIRED and WHAT EXACTLY HAVE I BEEN PAYING HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE FOR?
Second question in regards to the accompanying paper work. Your adjuster's information is totally inaccurate! On page 7 the Deck dimensions are entered at 10' x 12'. Actually my deck was 12' x 16' until the tree tore it off my house and it will again be 12' x 16'. I WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS DISCREPANCY!
Third Due to this situation I have been struggling to pay my contractor and currently have an area on my roof that is allowing water into my attic. This incident of the tree falling not only destroyed my deck but it also landed on my electric feed line from my electric company to my Metermast which ended up severely bent and pulled from the roof. The boot at the bottom was cracked beyond repair as well as the Mast itself and needs total replacement, along with the surrounding shingles that also need replaced on what is a brand new roof as of 2019 and it was a tear off on top of that! Again I will not accept a lower level of repair due to "Age of Roof"!
That being said, AM I MAKING MYSELF ABUNDANTLY CLEAR?
