I have been to this Steak and Shake twice and had to wait a rediculous amount of time for service. The first was Saturday, March 24 at 622PM. There were 3 cars in front of me when I pulled in. At 640PM, it was finally my turn at the order board. I was asked to wait, 10 minutes later, they took my order. At this point there was only one car in front of me. At 700PM, I got to the window, I paid for my order which were two combo meals, a double steakburger, fries, and milkshake, and a triple steakburger, fries, and diet. At 718PM when I left the drive through, I looked in the bag and had two sandwiches and one fry. The shake was awful. Tbe fries were cold. I said ok, they had a bad night. On Friday, April 6 at 445PM, we pulled in the drive thru. There were 2 cars ahead of me that already ordered. I was ask to hold on, they took my order at 452PM, there was one car in front of me. I ordered the same exact meals as before. At 513PM, my order was handed to me, without my drinks, it was shoved into my face and the window shut. They were not apologitic when they gave me my drinks. My fries were cold. Both my sandwiches were made incorrectly.

Orlando, FL 32817. I started frequenting this establishment about 10 years ago. The food, staff and premises was always excellent. My 98 year old neighbor and I have been going most Saturday mornings for breakfast and it was always crowded with regular customers. About 4 to 6 months ago I noticed the decline of cleanliness, although the food and service was still very good the first thing you notice is the odor of stale, sour dish rags. The floors and the restrooms are not kept clean and the odor is not something that you can ignore. After giving the place several chances, I'm sad to say that we will no longer be going back.

Sunday April 8, 2018 we visited about 3:30. Got right in with no wait but table had a funny sour smell. Server Emma was great but other servers who were cleaning tables not so much. Not much wiping down of the tables before setting up again. One server drew our attention when she dropped a placemat on the floor and it floated across the floor to our table. She came and picked it up and put it on the table she was setting. More training on sanitary requirements is needed at this location. Please.

When we are traveling we go to chain type restaurants because we know what to expect. This Steak 'N Shake does NOT live up to that expectation. I understand that it is a franchise and the owner does not have to participate in corporate specials and deals BUT why wouldn't they. Steak 'N Shake does lots of promotions and spends lots of money advertising their restaurants! This restaurant does not honor coupons, does not participate in corporate specials. I feel duped and I am sure I am not alone. Most people will go ahead and eat there once rather than go find another diner! I suppose that is what the owner is counting on. To wait 15 minutes to be seated only to find out this isn't really a true Steak 'N Shake! We left! Why would corporate let a franchise continue to operate under the Steak 'N Shake name that has so many terrible reviews? If we can't trust the name when we are traveling we will have to find another chain to stop for. I shouldn't have to take the time every time I want to eat to search for reviews. I should know what to expect! Check the reviews on Yelp, Maps, and their own Facebook page! Complaint after complaint!

I came here at 10:30 pm on Saturday April 7th, I came through the drive thru and had to wait 30 mins till I pulled up to the window, when I pulled up everyone was giggling and talking, messing around and I'm assuming that's what probably took so long, when I got my food the order wasn't correct and I had to wait another 10 mins for my food . I work at fast food and no customer should wait more than atleast 15 mins in the drive thru especially with as much people that were in their. They need to work on their team work one Guy was just standing their talking while he could have been bagging the next orders or finding some way to help. The fries were also not fresh after waiting 40 minis and then got cold fries I was upset . I come here maybe 2-3 times a week and I never get any forks either not sure if you guys just don't have them or I've never gotten one with my Mac and cheese.

I went to Festus Steak n Shake at 8pm on 4/6/18. I sat in the drive through for 45 min. Before I got my food which wouldn't have been so bad if it had been worth it! I got the wrong burger! I asked for dressing on the side and it was all over my salad! The 2 shakes I ordered weren't even full and the was ice cream all over the outside of the cup! To top it all off there was a hair in my chili! I have never had such bad service and I am not a complainer and never have complained but this was by far the worst experience ever!

On April 6, 2018, I always take lunch at 12:30 p.m. I ordered only a double guacamole sandwich and waited for 30 minutes. Other customers were ordering and I sat there and watched customers receiving their meals before me. The cook said that my sandwich would be right up, but I still waited. Finally another cashier came up and ask was I helped and I told her I have been waiting for 30 minutes already, it was already 1:00 p.m. She went and gave me my sandwich, but it was cold. This kind of service at 2929 Crosslake Drive, Evansville, Indiana 47715 should not happen to any customer.

I was at the steak ‘n shake on N. 21st street in Newark Ohio & the waitress I had (Kayla Corbin) didn't check if I needed anything, which I did and I had to get up and ask another waitress to get me refills. My food was cold when it was brought to me and I watched her stand in 1 place the whole time I was there! I've had this waitress before and each time she's had me sit and wait for almost a hour.

Steak and Shake on Lawndale Ave in NC has a very rude & unprofessional employee Michell H. Went today during lunch time and had the Worst experience. She started out rude & rushing over drive thru intercom so I should have known this was going to be a bad service. Once I finally reached the window after 10/15 mins waiting she hands me my milkshake which Im guessing was made at time of order due to the liquified state it was in AND loose top. After she handed it to me as soon as I brought my hand back inside my window it literally spilled all over myself & inside my car! I was livid. I attempt to hand it back to her as I wipe myself & car. She ignores & proceed to hand me bag of food. Are you serious? I tell her can you take this & remake. She says oh no we cant take once in your car. Now Im extremely pissed as if she didnt see this whole thing unfold from a not secured top. I say are you kidding me she says its policy now finally handing me napkins. Im still holding leaky cup outside my window she says he will make you another can you pull up. I sat there for like 8 mins before walking inside to see why Im still waiting. Noone acknowledges me OR 5 other people that have just walked in standing & waiting. Growing more annoyed I walk to counter after 5 mins a girl ask how can she help so I tell her. Michell yells from back its coming & rolls her eyes. Are you serious? More time passes Michell brings shake and hand it to me and says do you have it.. first of all I HAD the first one with the unsecure top. She is real disrespectful and I could have been too but decided she was not worth causing a scene. I will NEVER go back and will be sure to inform on all social media platforms!
fresh banana milkshake
I went to the steak and shake on 96 in Franklin, Tennessee and got a frisco melt with a fresh banana shake. In the bottom of the shake was something black that I have no idea what it was. I almost ate it if I wouldn't have looked. It was black and kind of squishy and very disgusting. It almost made me throw up and for sure made me loose my appetite.
Whatever it was, looked very disgusting and could have caused me to get sick.

We just drove a roundtrip of 60 miles to go to our nearest steak & shake. We went to 3892 Baldwin Rd, Auburn hills, Mich. What a mistake the restaurant it's self was so dirty, there was food & napkins in the back of my bench. Silverware was dirty my husband & ended up sharing silverware because we couldn't get anyone's attention. Our server, I never did get her name, she was the most horrible person unfriendly and her expression was total stoneface. There were only 3 waitstaff working and you couldn't get anyone's attention for anything. Finally just before we left a manager came out to bus the tables. We always make sure to frequent Steak & Shake in any state we are traveling through but we may have to rethink this. Definitely a big mistake driving there today. The food was not up to it's usual par, cold like it had been sitting

My wife and I pulled into this steak and shake on Easter at 11:41 for 2-double steak burger meals 2- coupons #[protected]) all the lights were on as it was a normal evening at a 24hr. service that I have been at before at all hours of day and night, we had an unusually long wait while waiting behind another customer, when we got to the drive up speaker to give our order we were told that they were understaffed, there were four cars ahead of us, I told the person that we were the last people in line and she would not respond back, I think that this was the wrong way to handle the issue being all lights were on as a normal business day and then not giving us any response back, I would have to think that a person would get some response to the question that we were the last people in line but instead there was none, I think this was a very rude way to handle the situation, I just want the management at Steak N Shake to know that I am very unhappy at the way this situation was handled by the attendant on duty. Thank-you for your attention in this matter.

I visited the STeak N Shake in Bartlett Tn on higway 64 on April 1, 2018. My complaint is a result of poor service in regards to time spent in line and the overall quality and accuracy of my order. I placed order number 537202 @ 8:00 p.m. I ordered a #4 combo which should have been a double cheeseburger with bacon and a cookies and cream milk shake. It took about 12-15 minutes to receive my order which was also prepared incorrectly and served with cold french fries. The patties appeared to be smaller than usual, the burger also did not have bacon on it.

I submitted an online order on Sunday that was scheduled to be picked up at 6:23 pm it took until almost 6:50 to actually get the food. That's not really the big deal I understand that it's Easter and they were busy. However the woman manning the drive thru got exceptionally rude with me. She asked me if I had a web order and I said yes that was me. She came back with a shake in her hand and asked me for 8.50 and I just said uhh I shouldn't owe you anything. And she followed up by saying "honey what did you order? Were you the web order?" When I said yes again she got snippy and said "that's what I asked you". I waited another 10 minutes probably before she knocked on the window of my truck and pushed the food into my hands saying "good lord that was complicated". I'm not complaining about the food or time I just don't think people have to be that rude. I've worked in food service and as such I am incredibly nice and friendly when dealing with resturaunt so I really don't need attitude from an employee when I'm being perfectly respectful and polite to them. My family and I were just at the restaurant at 790 E Merritt Island, Merritt Island, Fl. We were not happy with the cleanliness of the restaurant. We sat at a booth that was next to the servers area where they pick up the food and there was garbage on the floor, food on the floor and the garbage can was overflowing and the servers were walking through it and no one bothered to clean anything up until we said something to them. All this was visible as soon as you walk in the front door as well as where people were eating! We finally said something to our waitress and they did a half-hearted effort to clean it up, emptied the trash and swept the food up that was in front of the area where they picked up orders but still left some garbage on the floor. After that I witnessed a server pick a dirty napkin off her shoe and then proceed to serve food without washing her hands. I was also noticing that there were several large areas of tile that were busted and missing leaving holes in the floor. I will not be revisiting this store anytime soon! I have attached pictures.

Worst experience ever. I came with my husband, my sister her husband and their 3 kids. We sat down and waited for a server for 10 minutes. Flys were everywhere. And waited for an HOUR for food. I asked the waitress how much longer and she said we were next. She didn't give me a time frame just said our order should be up next. We wait another 10 minutes. Finally we can't wait any longer. My husband goes up to just pay for the drinks we recieved (and no refills whatsoever) and asked the lady to speak to the manager. She goes to get him and he rudely out loud said, he didn't have time for this. So we walked out. I will not be back! I could maybe understand the reason for our service if they were packed or something or maybe short staffed but they weren't. How does a place that has a fast food drive thru take over an hour to give you food? Highly upset that no one even cared enough to check on us or give us an update or try to rectify the situation. Not a way to run a business. This place just opened and they are already getting off to a rough start. I won't be back and I will spread the word to others not to go.

Restaurant was filthy. Waited an hour only to receive cold food. Cooks were not wearing hair nets or hat. It was 6pm. This was my first and last visit to this location. My referral came from a reputable person. A manager came to the table to discuss my complaint and offer me a free milkshake. As stated, I had high hopes for a pleasant dining experience. Not pleasant AT ALL.

I recently went to the Steak 'n Shake in Inverness Florida. 3/26/2018
There were only 2 waitresses on duty. They had to buss tables, and take table orders, and also run the register! Our drinks didn't arrive until 15 minutes after our order was taken. Another 10 minutes for our meal to come.
There is an area for patrons to place to go orders. They came and went before we even had our drinks!
Our waitress had a table of 4 get up and leave before getting and paying for their meal because it took so long for them to get it!
I went to this same restaurant last year and got the same bad results.
This eatery was way understaffed, the waitresses were in tears!

Staff is rude, not even worth going back. First they forgot my sprite, and the cook acts rude about it. She asks drive thru to make it for me. The drive thru girl does and brings it to me. I then ask if I can purchase the steak and shake seasoning. She was like oh I can put some in a container for you, which she starts to do. Then the African American female cook says to her don't waste your time on that they aren't tipping you. Seriously!? Is this how your staff is trained. They have no idea if I planned on tipping or not, anyways she then stopped and brought me a little container with literally nothing in it. I then said can I purchase the seasoning again. She walked away and I had to wait another 8 minutes before someone would come help me. All while my food is sitting on the counter. (I ordered 35$ worth. I should At least not have to deal with that). Merritt island location. I am extremely unsatisfied.
