complete disarray in the restaurant.
I live in Port Charlotte Florida and have been coming to the Steak and Shake Restaurant restaurant for quite a few years. I have never seen such disorganization in a restaurant in all my life. No matter what time of the evening I go in for dinner either the shakes don't show up until the meal is completed or the meal is completed before the shakes show up. Most of the time the wait time for a table is unheard of as most of the tables are sitting full of the previous customers dirty dishes and no one around to clean any of the tables.
I don't believe their has ever been the same manager at any given time always a new face of managers. My guess is this is a training restaurant for another facility.
I really don't have a clue what needs to be done but thought that someone needed to know about this service. I have held off writing to you about this but this evening was the top and needed to be addressed.

food poisoning
My dad, boyfriend, and I went to Steak and Shake on Saturday, April 14th around 7pm. My boyfriend and I go to college at Michigan State University, and my dad lives in Grand Rapids, so we rarely eat together. We all ordered burgers and shared a shake. On Monday morning, April 16th, we all had horrible food poisoning all day. It consisted of constant diarrhea and vomiting. I am writing this complaint to let you know that something they served us must have been bad to get us all this horribly ill. Also, there always seems to be a large wait staff whenever I attend any Steak and Shake, and the wait for food and drinks takes forever. I am very dissatisfied and upset for getting so sick as a result of eating here.

Just got back from Merritt Island Fl s&s w/ my salad, started eating it I found a whole romaine leaf old and wilted. My chef son stopped me from eating it telling me his restuarant can't sell it because romaine lettuce is contaminated by some bacteria. So I called the restaurant talked to some kid, I told him the same story, his reply to me "call back if you get sick"
Like I'm going eat it now! I thought that was extremely rude and disrespectful. When are you going to do something about Merritt Island Fl restaurant?
unethical behavior
Went to your fields ertle location in ohio, and i'm appalled by the attitude of a specific man that works there. I unfortunately didn't get to take his name as I was absolutely fuming before simply walking out, but let me just explain.
The man was the person behind the grill. He had sent out two wrong orders, and when the waiter came back he said the man should pay more attention to what he's sending out. Chef then proceeds to scream about how this poor man should shut his mouth, pay attention himself, and put his glasses on because that's what he has them for. Threw the food he'd received and then proceeded to stand there fuming instead of remaking the orders. Absolutely appalled. Respect your elders. I don't care what you have going on in your life, that man deserved none of that repulsive treatment. Manager shrugged it off like it was a daily occurrence. My brother ran back in to tell the poor older man that he appreciates him and to thank him. Apologized on behalf of the cook. I've never seen such blatant disrespect. Makes me sick. Won't be returning here if this is how employees are allowed to treat each other, behind the scenes or in front of a whole dining room with little children.

About 8:10pm at your 17325 Lorain Ave, Cleveland, OH 44111 location, my boyfriend and I went to get a quick milkshake through the drive thru; chocolate banana with whip and chocolate without. The woman taking our order was very snappy and rude. The way she talked and interrupted was just uncalled for. When we would talk she would cut us off with an attitude. When we daid what milkshake she said "What?!?" as if irritated we could even imagine to bother her. I don't do this. I don't complain. I work at Panera with customers 6 days a week. I understand things can get difficult or downright frustrating at times, but you put on a happy face and try because the customer has nothing to do with your rough day. She didn't swear. She didn't throw food or do anything crazy, but she had enough attitude and angry face to make me want to mention some thing. Not to get her fired but maybe someone tell her hey, there's no need to be absolutely rude and cut people off when they just want a milkshake after working hard all week. I was pretty upset and offended after leaving. Just to describe her; she has curly hair, a little bigger, and has a pissed off face. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

We stopped at the steak n shake #444 in Lawrenceburg Indiana after taking our family members to the airport, we were not aware that at 5:00 am you can not order breakfast until 6:00 am. Which was fine with us.
The man was so rude about it when we tried to order breakfast, so we said okay and we ordered something else, then a lady came in to order a go order ten minutes later and she ordered breakfast and he told her they didn't serve it until six am, but then he said that's okay, I will fix it for you and he did. I was really puzzled by that. I don't think that was very good customer service

refund
I went to Steak n Shake on 10555 Ulmerton Rd, Largo, FL 33771 on April 4th and they messed up on my order and over charged my order and i haven't gotten my refund of $9.95. Its been 2 full weeks and I haven't gotten my money back. Its [censor]ed that I haven't got my money back. I want my money back. I don't know why they can't do their job right. I dont wanna back here again.

My family and I visited your colonial heights, va restaurant april 17, 2018 around 8 p. M., we were the only customers there at the time. We were seated immediately and waitress walked over to take our ordered, we did tell her at that time we had just finished a game and probably would need a refill shortly, probably about 15 mins we needed refill only to have one of us finally getting up to go and found someone to get refill there was 5 of us, I feel they should come by and check on customers periodically. But not only that there was at least 8 to 10 employees working but not doing nothing; of course the cooks were, the floor was so sticky my shoes was sticking to the floor, window cleaning was so smudge, and one person was sweeping part of floor and took the boom and brush whatever was on the booth on the floor, did not go back and wipe down with a sanitizer. The tables needed wiped down, mustard was dried up in several containers and the containers were so sticky on the outside, they need to be wipe down. With all the being said the food was good but I would not come back for a long time and would not recommend anyone. Meanless to say I was nervous to use the bathroom. The employees were nice, very polite when they checked up on us
how employees are treated
I am currently employed. We are getting treated unfairly. I have been there going on 6 months. I was promised to start training on breakfast hours so I could get more hours then they go behind my back and hire someone else to do those hours. I've been there 6 months and she has been there 3 weeks and get 37 + hours. They yell at us and cuss at us. The reason they can't keep employees cause they constantly lie to us about thing we were promised

We were at the steak and shake located in Wentzville, MO. Our service was very slow, my son didn't get his milkshake until he was done eating. Worse than that, the place was less than half full and we watched at least 4 sets of customers leave because they were standing around waiting and no one would clear any tables. Every empty table was full of dirty dishes. I was shocked to see the workers filling ketchup bottles and ice machines while customers walked out. A waitress dropped a tray of milkshakes that customers had been waiting for forever and all of the workers just stood there and laughed.
I'll not go back.

I attended the Steak and Shake on Monroe street in Toledo Ohio the other day, and I am THOROUGHLY disappointed in my visit. Everything started off good at first, I got seated quickly, the food was good, and my waitress was nice however the ending was what turned it into a terrible experience. My friend and I went up to the counter to pay, where we stood for over twenty minutes with no help whatsoever. We made eye contact with every single employee, and nobody came over to help us pay, or even bothered asking someone else to. There were even people just standing around behind the counter, but nobody would come assist us. After making a big commotion and still having no employee come over, we were about ready to set some money on the counter and just walk out. And this certainly isn't the first time this has happened. Eventually a line started to pile up behind the counter, and somebody was forced to come over. It was very noticable how annoyed I was, and the cashier was extremely rude. After being treated like this, it is questionable as to whether or not I will be back. The poor service near the end made me completely forget about the rest of the trip and left me in anger. I really hope some improvements could be made in the future amongst the staff.

My husband, daughter, and I went to the store because that do kids meals free. So we came in and got seated really fast thought it would be great. Well we waited 10-15 min before anyone had walked over to us mind you the restaurant had 4 wait staff that I could see and only 5 tables so it was slow. After we had to basically flag someone down to take our order. We waited 5 min for drinks which we were not given straws or anything else we asked for. Then we waited and additional 15-20 min for food which was made wrong and we sent back. When we got it the fries were cold and hard and the sandwich my husband ordered had barely any sauce on it. Whatever I didn't say anything cause we had waited so long. We just ate and when we tried to leave I had to get up and find someone for a box. Then at the counter we stood there for about 8-9 min before anyone acknowledged us and when she did she was rude and then it took this woman like 10 min to check us out she was slow and had an attitude. Whenever we went to go leave we all were at our vehicle and the woman followed us out to our car and said we had to come back in cause the machine was not working another 5 min. This has been the worst experience ever at this location I am not the kind to complain but this was ridiculous for a slow night it should not have taken so long we have come before with a busy store and have been in and out in 30-45 min. Trust me won't be back here. Terrible night!

We waited 20 min to receive our shakes and our food for 30 min. While we were waiting the tables all around us were not bussed, the floor was black and sticky. It had food all over it. It looked like it hadn't been mopped in months. The bathroom trash cans were over flowing and the floors were just as bad in there. The ketchup and mustard bottles had food stuck to them. When we finally got our food and shakes. The food was ice cold and shakes were completely melted.

I went to the Steak and Shake at 2am Saturday morning near the Great Lakes Crossing mall in Auburn Hills Michigan . I ordered two cookies and a cheese fry. The Manager was mad because she had to ring me up .The cook kept staring at me and after 10 minutes he said oop I forgot about your fries. Look at picture of my fries the gave me. It made me feel since I was in a Security uniform they treated me this way.

I went there with a group and he took orders from everyone and skipped over me. I understood that because he was busy so I went up to ask him if he could take my order and he was very rude and told me that he was too busy and that he would get me later and to go away.. even then I was a little mad but I understood because there were a lot of people. The thing that makes me mad is the fact that I sat there for 2 hours waiting and he never took my order and I went home without eating anything. And when later talking to my friends they all agreed that he was very rude.

I've visited the Steak 'n Shake in Lynchburg VA on 4/11/2018 at 9:12 according to my receipt and the lady who took my order was the RUDEST person I've ever seen. She was very unprofessional as her and th cooks were cussing so loud everyone heard them, they were talking about other employees that work there, I spent $19.50 on a place that I was completely unsatisfied with! Roanoke location is ten times better! I'll never be coming back to Lynchburg!

Recently my family took a vacation to Indianapolis, IN to visit family (wedding). During our stay we all went to Steak 'n Shake at 11040 Pendleton Pike, Indianapolis, IN 46236. Store # 30 on April 7th 2018 @ 6:36 PM (our servers name was Devonte.
Our order number was 404834 and had a party of 5. Ticket total was $33.62
During our time at this particular Steak 'n Shake everyone of our orders were prepared incorrectly! Not one of our meals were right! Also one of our parties meals didn't even get served until the rest of us were done eating! Besides all the meals being messed up, our shakes were all wrong too! It also took us about 45 minutes to even get our food and shakes (and they weren't even that busy). This was the worst experience we've ever had at ANY restaurant! Hoping to receive some kind of restitution/reimbursement for this disaster we went through. We still have the receipt if need be.

can't get baked beans after eleven pm
We enjoy going to steak and shake in the evening after having a few drinks and every time we go we can not get your signature baked beans because they state that they do not make your signature baked beans after eleven pm. What kind of business is that for you and your signature food when a customer comes in expecting to get hamburgers and baked beans and can't get it. I mean really come in.

On Mon, 9 Apr 18 o/a 3:30 p.m., I waited for 8min and 3 sec before a waitress came to my table to ask me had I been waited on. There were 5 customers, 2 each dining together and then myself. There were 2 waitresses manning the floor. This same waitress who finally came to my table had already walked into the area I was sitting 3x but each time ignored me. After she took my order, I went to counter to ask for manager. Informed him of the above. He was very apologetic.
When I returned to my table, my burger and fries were sitting on the table. The burger, a single with cheese, was not as I requested (with onions only) and the fries were not hot. I got up once again to find a waitress to request onions on my burger and hot fries. After returning to my table, I decided to leave considering how things had already transpired. I'm never comfortable with returning food if it's not to my satisfaction the first time around. I went to counter again to ask for manager so that I could let him know that I had had enough and was leaving. While waiting for manager, I observed the two waitresses in a conversation and disbursed when they saw me watching them. At that point, I assumed the conversation had been about me. The manager eventually came to the counter and stated he stated that he was re-doing the order. I apologized and told him I didn't know who was fixing the order but just didn't feel comfortable at this point receiving food again.
