Steak 'n Shake drive through wait, general poor service

Arrived at drive through at 7:18 pm to get shakes and burgers for myself and my sister. Didn't get to the ordering station until 7:45pm. There were only 3 cars in front of me! No one should have to wait 25 minutes at what is considered a fast food restaurant. When I finally spoke with the employee to give my order, she interrupted me to talk to someone behind her. Then, she came back to the microphone and asked if I had been helped yet, even though she was just talking to me!

Steak 'n Shake cleanliness

We love Steak and Shake food! However the one closest to our house is always filthy. The floor looks like it hasn't been mopped in years. The black wall that divides the booths is also in desperate need of cleaning. There are grease and hand prints all over it. The tables are also wet from being wiped down when they seat you. There is always lots of food on the floor---see photos. We usually get fast service, but we have to try to ignore our surroundings.

Steak 'n Shake foreign object found in my shake

went to your location in elkhart indiana on cassopolis st today and ordered a chocolate banana shake as well as some sliders. my boyfriend started eating his shake with a spoon when he got a mouthful of electrical tape ! this is beyond disgusting . i called them to complain only to be told the manager wasnt available but would return my call. to which was never done.

Steak 'n Shake drive thru order

I don't normally eat out but when I do I try to find something cheap and filling.

Fortunately steak and shake meets that standard which brings me great happiness when I have the chance to go out.

I recently learned that you can also add Frisco sauce without getting charged extra which is great. So it is with these two pieces of info that I decided to make a drive to steak and shake for lunch. Since I move from job site to job site I appreciate the drive thru option.
I ordered a double steak burger with cheese with frisco sauce, and as I'm driving back to the job site I was very pleased with the quality of fries and the salt quantity on them.

Unfortunately I open up the burger wrapper excited for my favorite part of the meal only to find my burger has nothIng on it but cheese. I ordered the frisco sauce with it and it was on the receipt but someone didn't take the time to see that I had not just asked for things not on my burger, but I had also asked for sauce.

So now I am back at the job site, too far away to return my burger or simply ask for sauce, slightly disappointed that my decision to go to steak and shake was marred by such a simple mistake. Could you do anything to help resolve this issue?

Steak 'n Shake hours of operation

Tonight after I got off work I stopped by my local 24 hour steak and shake and as I pulled in the drive thru was blocked by the food delivery truck so I went in and was told by the manager that they were closed for "maintenance" and would reopen in 3 hours. I thought 24 hours meant all day every day. Guess I was wrong. Good job sunset hills steak and shake...said on one ever.

Steak 'n Shake service

The waitress is apparently to busy flurting and having a attitude to actually do her job. She took the mans order that was with me and then walked away. Then, it took her about 10-15 mins and us complaining to the manager to have her finally come back and get my order. Then a crawd of men come in from a baseball game and they was served with all their food before I revieved mine. By that time my friend was done eatting and I had to get it to go ...what an experience.. Never will i return...

Steak 'n Shake drive thru service at 12:15am

This is not the only time I have had an issue with this particular store, on Outer Loop, in Louisville, Ky. Currently the store has a B, which concerned me to begin with - but my boyfriend and I got a late night craving for Steak n Shake, so we went. After waiting in the drive thru line for about 15 minutes or so, we get to the pay window to find out that the "Visa card reader wasn't working". Also, when the drive thru window opened it was so loud inside the kitchen, that we had to ask her to repeat what she has said. Since she had already given us the milkshakes we also ordered, she said to keep them (after we tried to give them back, due to not having any cash on hand). Once we got home and I tasted my strawberry cheesecake milkshake, I literally had to throw it away after 3 bites and stirring it quite a bit. This is not something I would normally do because I rarely even order milkshakes, and only treat myself every so often. I'm telling you this so that you can hopefully get this store together.

Steak 'n Shake service

While waiting for 2 larger parties to be sat and the staff to catch up on cleaning tables we were there approximately 10-15 minutes in front of the register. The complaint isn't in the wait I've been a server I know how it works, it's in how people walked in front of us and were sat immediately while we stood there. I don't know any ones name and I don't have anything against them i just want there to be some oversight on the hostess and seating arrangement. Thank you.

Steak 'n Shake service

On July 20, 2017, at around 7:00 p.m. we went to the SNS on Page, in Overland. We walked through the door and no one said a word to us. We stood there looked around waiting to be seated. We saw that there were maybe 3 tables that had people, all booth tables and some other tables needed to be bussed, there was a worker (maybe on break) sitting with someone talking, there were no workers on the floor except one that was standing behind several people at the counter paying. The worker who was standing like she was in line to check out just looked at us and went back to looking at her phone. The place looked like no one was cleaning up and nobody seemed to care that new customers came through the door so we turned around and left. The complaint is we weren't acknowledged and the place was a mess.

Steak 'n Shake phone calls/service

Every time I can either the huber heights or the miller lane Steak 'n Shake, nobody ever answers the phone...no matter what time of day it is. Also, every time I dine in at either of these two locations my service is subpar. I waited 8 minutes to be seated last night at the huber location and then another 15 for a server to come. There were employees just standing around talking and on their phones. The food came out quick so that was a plus. I just don't know why the service is never good and why I can never reach either store.

Steak 'n Shake cleanliness of restaurant.

Visited your Vero Beach FL location at approximately 2:30 7/25/17. My family and I sat in the SW corner booth. While waiting for our food I noted the following: The floor was filthy, the ceiling tiles were water stained, the vent and light fixtures are filthy with dust and mold. The window shades were dirty with condiments. Both bathroom were discussing. The track behind the booth seat cushion had french fries and garbage in it . The sides of red chairs were black with filth. Everything is sticky. Salt shaker literally left oil on my fingers. There was food and garbage under the other booths. The clear booth dividers were dirty. The windows were filthy and had dead bugs on exterior edge. The glass on claw drop games, gum balls and toys machines needed cleaning. The service was very good and so was the food. This restaurant needs a top to bottom cleaning with heavy chemicals.

Steak 'n Shake my order was messed up and person at drive thru was rude

We went thru drive thru at the stake and shake on clyde park in michigan. Ordered a number 14 with no mayo and a jalapeño crunch, also ordered an regular m&m with banana base and a small oreo cookies n cream. They hand out the shakes which ended up being in the wrong size cups. The m&m was in a small and the oreo was in a regular. We told the kid that wasn't correct, no i'm sorry no nothing, just a snotty attitude and "fixed" it. After we leave we start eatting our shakes. First my oreo was banana base (Gross, I hate banana), it was basicly milk, and there where m&m chunks in the bottom, sor they didn't even bother getting a new cup, that's not cool. The m&m was just plain vanilla and wasn't even mixed well, there was a solid cunck of vanilla in the bottom, then to top it off my husbands double stake burger had a butt load of mayo on it. We were not impressed, usually get good service, but that was ridiculous!

Steak 'n Shake customer service

Went to have dinner at the SNS on Chesterfield Airport Rd in Missouri and wasn't acknowledged for seating for 10 minutes. The hostess was unprofessional and then when we were seated no one came to the table for 15 minutes. We therefore got up and left.

This is not the first time this has happened and has happened at different locations. This problem is getting worse.

There was only 5-6 people in the restaurant and I can see why since the service at Steak n Shake has increasingly gotten worse.

Steak 'n Shake staff mopping while we were eating and left puddles of water on the floor which was dangerous. bad attitude of person accepting our money.

On the evening of July 24, 2017, my friend and I took her two great-grandchildren to your location on Airport Rd. As we were finishing up, a staff member proceeded to start mopping around us. She created a dangerous situation by leaving puddles of water where we had to walk to leave the building. The section where NO ONE was sitting was left un-mopped! If I had fallen, I'd have owned that store and I told the staff just that. I saw no manager in sight and no one came forward to see what the trouble was. Then as my friend was paying for our food, the staff behind the counter was nasty and short with her.
My resolution to this would be to replace the manager on that shift (we were there around 8:30-9:00 p.m. and to better train the staff ( I saw the cook on his phone). I especially think you should replace the inadequate mop buckets so there is a minimal amount of water on the floor.

Steak 'n Shake cleanliness around restaurant

Pulled up to drive thru to see this and it's ridiculous that it looks like this . The service is so slow and the employees take their time getting orders out because they spend more time talking to each other . This is the worst one I have ever been at . Nothing good to say about this Steak n Shake . Needs someone to come in and clean this place before Osha and BBB is called . If this place was on a time scale we all would get our food free it's how slow it is and the food is disgusting and cold .

Steak 'n Shake food/manager

Arrived at SteaknShake Statesboro on Saturday evening. Several tables available to sit but was not cleans for patrons. My wife and I were seated approximately 10 mins. The restaurant was not busy and had no waiting. After being seated, the waitress came over to take our drink order. She was extremely nice and helpful. Approximately 15 mins we were ready to order. She took our order and brought us 2 waters back to the table. Approximately 15 mins she bought our shakes but not our Shooters which is what we ordered. We were 2/3's or the way finished with our shakes and our food come out. We immediately had a problem with our food. We noticed there was very little meat on the buns and I lifted the bun off. Unbelievable! The smallest piece of meat did not even cover half of the bun size. The waitress did not come back to the table to check on us, so I flagged another employee down and ask to see the manager. We sat there for several minutes without acknowledgement. We requested 2 more time to see the manager. After 20 minutes, we got up and went to the counter and told the person at the register that we were not going to pay for food and we were disappointed that the manager completely ignored our request to speak with her. We are Christian folks and I have never in my life have had a manager ignore the customer completely when a problem arose. There wereno2 other families with problems that she also ignored. She continued to work on the line making burgers. This is where she needs to be permanently, not in management. You do not ignore a customer. You are in a customer service industry. Unacceptable! I ask for the managers name and the owner's name. She will be reported to the owner.

Steak 'n Shake service

Just left the location at hurstbourne lane louisville. Waited about 10 to 15 minutes. About 3 tables occupied in the entire place. Not one person approached us after being seated. Not to mention one guy had his truck parked directly at the front doors sitting in his car with the passenger door open having a smoke break, in uniform. We left and have zero plans if ever returning. This is a good area of town and is very disappointing. Please fix this place and bring back good service and good food. It was as if the servers were debating on who was going to wait on us. Yes they saw us. Time of visit 5:39.

Steak 'n Shake service

I visited steak n shake sandy springs location. I ordered a frisco melt and strawberry shake. I waited for 26 mins. To only b greeted by an angry female. Didn't catch her name but she is short and hair was in a high bun. I assume this was the same lady screaming at the guy with the dreadlocks on the grill. She didn't really seem to be having a good day. But I cant say it was all bad, if it wasn't for the friendly service I received from the server with the two pigtails and the guy on the grill allowing me to have the shake for free this would probably be a location I would have not return to. The guy was very sincere with his apologies for the delay and the server kept me entertained.

Steak 'n Shake rude and very disrespectful

i came in at around 5 o clock am i seen that the restaurant was busy n didnt mind waiting on my food. i asked the grill operator after waiting for approximately 30 min how long on my food till i get it cause i have been waiting he was very nice n professional n he went n made my food and i got it hot n fresh while the short girl named Erica was saying that all carry out food would be last n i got very upset n ask to speak to a manger and the grill operator stated that he was the lead n charge n his name was jay she was very rude n u shouldnt have anyone in your resturant that can care less about the guest that decied to dine in or carry out

Steak 'n Shake building and overall appearance

Hello, I have no complaints about the food or service cause they were good. My complaint lies with the appearance of the building and property. As a franchise I would assume you would want your business not to be tainted by appearances of a business. I went to the steak and shake in Turkey creek on Parkside drive in Knoxville Tennessee yesterday. I did the drive thru. Now I rarely go there so I was appalled at the appearance of trash everywhere. Now this isn't trash from one day. IT'S accumulation of trash. It was all over the landscape. The Windows of the business were filthy. With that said I can honestly say that I won't go back to this particular site. It's really sad that the local businesses in the area are well maintained and this one looks so trashy. Makes me wonder what the inside looks like. That's it and hoping y'all can get someone to clean up the area cause it's your franchise name on the building. Thank you...Donna Roy
