Unhelpfulness and worsening of issue and considering switching companies

Incident: Was using my phone, watching YouTube, no issues, when internet stopped working. Found out later in the day that I was unable to make/receive calls or texts. My husband called straighttalk-they told him to have me call back in the morning. I called in the morning-after a few useless attempts to get the phone working (switching it off/back on, searching my address) she told me to call back in the evening. I told her that didn't work for me, so she transferred me to her supervisor. The man said he was trying to connect me and asked to wait. There was no music to confirm I was put on hold, just silence. I asked politely if he was still there and there was no answer. He had hung up on me. I called in the evening and was put on a call back list. After 22 minutes, I was called back. The man did the same attempts and proceeded to call the network provider. He tried for 40+ minutes to call while keeping me on hold. Afterwards he told me that the provider was closed for the day and to call back in the morning. I was so upset that I waited a total of 71 minutes, that I was being patient, and I was being polite just to be told I'd have to call back in the morning that I started to cry and hung up. I called back in the morning (2 days of issues-0 solutions). He actually tried some other things to try and fix the problem and I was having faith that this guy would fix it. Got to a point though where he asked if I'd be okay with wiping the phone clear "like a new phone". I told him to hold on so I could take some pictures off so I wouldn't lose them. After that he walked me through it. Everything on my phone was erased. Then we went to start up my phone. The phone said I needed a wifi connection to set it up. The man did not tell me this and I was located at a place with no wifi. He just told me to find a place with wifi and set it up on my own and see if it works or buy a new phone (I don't have a lot of money to do this) and set a new phone up. I started crying again and hung up. He tried to "call me back". But he literally let the phone ring just once, so I wouldn't had a chance to pick it up anyways. I believe he just went through the motions of his workplace policy with no effort to actually see it through. So now I'm stuck without a phone, everything cleared from it, and everyone I spoke with just gave up when they didn't know what else to do. I've lost 2 days worth of call/text/data that I've paid for. I haven't been able to do my work this morning because I've had to deal with this. If there is an emergency with my child no one can reach me other than through my work phone. Very anger inducing and frustrating and I was trying my hardest to be patient and polite.
Desirable Resolution: someone to fix my phone, tell me why I need to stay w/this company and extra time on my phone for the days that I have paid for and lost. Otherwise I will be switching companies.
What a terrible customer service!
Oh darn, I must confess that they have the worst and the most unorganized customer service consisting of a bunch of idiots who were recruited by chance, I guess. Just judging by the way they tried (they didn't) to help me. They have no clue what's going on, they are poorly aware of the products and are not trained at all. I am sure I haven't encountered customer service worse than them. Horrible!
Online order
I ordered a phone online on 11/24, my bank account was charged and I was to get overnight shipping. The order was never processed or sent and I have spent hours on hold and being transferred and no one can find my order or give me any further information about the order other than it was not sent. I was transferred to more than ten departments and supervisors and was told "I guess you are out of luck". My order number is 5656230 and email associated with the order is [protected]@Yahoo.com.
Slow cellular data - false advertising
Worked with Straight Talk on an issue concerning slow cellular data. They offer 8 GB of high speed data and then they throttle down the speed after the user has hit the 8 GB cap. I currently have phone with them with plenty of high speed available and yet I am getting slow speeds. When I run the Speedtest.net app on the phone with WiFi off I consistently get .01Mbps download speed and .01Mbps upload speed. It makes mobile data unusable. I can't even load a webpage let alone stream video. We have tried new SIM cards in the phone and I have spent over 20 hours on the phone with them. I have been transferred to over and over and over and over. I finally was able to talk to a supervisor at the corporate office in the Philippines and she told me that she didn't know. Straight talk claims they already contacted Verizon concerning the issue but the same manager that told that also has refused to call me back. The phone is an Apple device and I spoke to Apple about the issue. They ran diagnostics on the phone and told me the phone does not have issues. Apple said it is a Straight Talk issue.
Customer service
I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S7 from Walmart. Called straight talk customer service to put my own phone number on my new phone. I told the representative that I wanted to put my own phone number on to my new phone. He told me to hold on and he came back on the line and said you are all set I changed your phone number. I told him I did not tell you to change my number I told you to put my number on my new phone. He was very rude and informed me that I told him to change my number. He continued to argue this fact with me. I finally said to him that he would need to get my phone number back because I cannot change my number. He said hold on while I try to retrieve your number and the next thing I knew there was another rep on the phone asking me if he could help me. This continued through several different reps for about 3 hours of me trying to explain to them that I was on auto renewal and they had already charged me while they responded to me that in order to get back my own phone number I would have to go into Walmart and get a new 45 dollar card. So, I told the next to the last representative go ahead and charge my credit card but I will be disputing the prior charge that has not ended yet until Nov. 4. She says has your credit card already been charged? I said that is what I have been trying to tell all the reps. Oh, well I will have to transfer you to someone who can help you with that. This seriously had to take almost 4 hours are you kidding me. The next representative did in fact successfully get my number back after several more minutes. This was the worst experience I have ever had with straight talk customer service. I had just been praising them on their customer service skills for quite some time and recommending them to other people. Would I recommend them after this terrible experience probably not unless there is some great resolution to this horrible time that I have had because I had 10 gb, and only paid 46 month before this now thanks to a mistake one of the reps made I have none of this any longer and it took me a long time to get this cost.
Customer service technical support and refunds
My service has been going in and out for the past 3 weeks. I called to complain about it. And to see if it can be fixed. The lady I first spoke with checked the service area. Even tho I had 4g service I could not send text messages! So she transferred me to another dept to get a refund on my phone. I sat on hold for 20 minutes, finally got someone on the phone and told him about the issue. He said he was going to look into it and to hold for a second. Next thing I know I was put back on hold for another 20 minutes. Then I got hung up on! So I had to call back and wait on hold again for 15 more minutes only for the guy to tell me that he cant give me a refund bc there has been activity on the account. No [censor]! It goes in and out all day every day! Ill be switching to verizon thanks to him. Im sick of these idiots! Thanks for wasting my time for nothing!
Complaining about straight talk wireless and their [censor] customer service
I had lost my phone while back and was phoneless for about a month. My mom upgraded to iphone 7 and gave me her iphone 5s she bought understraighttalk. I bought a prepaid service card for 45$ at walmart and had ordered me a sim card for this phone I had received from my mom. When I got it I told them if they could put my old number [protected] number on this phone I had just received. Well here's where [censor] started. They transferred my moms number [protected] to the phone she had jus given me and had to expire her service to do so. I called them back kinda irritated and asked for them to fix it and said they could not. That they would have to send a new sim to my mom for her to get her number back. And now my mom won't have a phone for a week and she needs it. And now I won't have a phone for two weeks because you guys [censor]ed up. They said they can't send me a sim until my mom gets the sim and gets her number back. Come on man. And I had to explain to my mom what happened that I guys [censor]ed up but she [censor]ing me out like it's my fault man. That's not cool. I'd appreciate if u guys apologize and let my mom know that all this was out of my control because you guys caused more than just a simple transfer [censor] up. You ruining my family relations and that's not cool at all. I need you guys to reimburse my moms service that she missed while waiting for her sim to get here. It wasn't her fault. I need u guys to let her know about the inconvenience and a sorry or something man. Me coming from hawaii. I'm telling you guys now that you guys are lacking aloha. Ok I bought a new phone for straight talk and I bout the whole year phone card cause I have a 2 yr old and he is going outta state with his mom for a year so I got the 1 yr plan so I can keep in contact with them... I went to add the airtime and it said the airtime card has already been used... Now im pissed off cause I just bought it and to be able to keep in contact with my sons mom... Im bout 2 seconds away from filing a huge lawsuit on straight talk... I either want my money sent back or striaght talk send me a 1 yr plan... This is [censor] and im bout fed up with straight talk... Something needs to be done before 2 weeks cause thats when my son is leaving... Thanks

I bought a refurbished galaxy s5 it did not work when I got it call them they said they would send me a new one and send me a return label for the old one said I should get it in three days.waited 3 days called them they said it would be there in 3 days again.waited 4 days no phone called again told me then that they needed to send me a return label and then when they received the old phone they would then send me my new phone.still waiting might get in 2 weeks.wow worst company I have ever seen.but I am not surprised my wife had the same thing happen to her about 6 months ago.
Cellular data and phone plan.
I bought a brand new Galaxy S5 through straight talk and got the 45$ plan, the first month was halfway decent giving me near 3G speed up to about 6 GBs when i was promised 8 GBs at 4G speed. This month i bought the same plan which is 8 GBs of high speed data, and when using internet my service was running at 2G speeds. Ive been the whole month with a slow internet service, and ive already called straight talk customer service and when prompted, the representative acted like she cared about my problem and immediately hung up on me without resolving the issue, when i tried to call back it said that straight talk was no longer open for service for the day. Im very disappointed in Straight Talk and what they like to call a business. Also my "high speed" data was cut off at 7 GBs instead of the 8 that was promised.
Activating my phone
I wanted to use the Bring Your Own Phone to Straight Talk. I got online and checked my phone compatibility and it said it was compatible on 8/17/2017. I went to Walmart to purchase the activation kit and was told by Walmart to call Straight Talk to be sure it was compatible because the kit was non refundable. The customer service person on the phone said yes it was compatible. I bought the activation kit for $56.99 with tax. Tried to activate my phone the next day and after being on the phone with them for 2 hours they said there wasn't anything they could do, my phone was locked and not compatible. I was bringing my Verizon phone...Verizon phones are not locked. I was frustrated and asked about getting a refund for my activation kit because Walmart told me it was not refundable so he transferred me to someone else who either dropped the call or hung up on me. I want a refund of my $56.99 because I was mislead both from their website where I entered my IMEI number and by their customer service rep over the phone.

Since the recent update my Straight Talk phone has not been receiving or able to make any calls. I called in Monday with 9 calls after being hung up on because they apparently were tired of trouble shooting. Finally to be told I need a new Sim card. It arrived today. Five more calls. I use this phone for business, I repeatedly told a man to not change my phone number, I'm which I've had for eight years. I had told him at least ten times. He told me to restart my phone two hours later (bc it can take two hours to program). I did, only to find out my number had changed 1 hour and 38 minutes later, the lady hung up on me while I was on hold. She was suppose to be checking to see if my original number was still available. I called back again. For almost two hours the guy worked to get my number back. However, my voicemail is gone. I can't even get those now for my business. I can't see who calls at all because the calls still don't come through. The manager tells me someone put the imei number I'm the system but not on their page. So now I have to wait five more days, now I can't even get a voicemail to bid work. Nothing they can do they said. Sorry, they said. Every one of them. Apologized for the prior person hanging up, then did it themselves when they couldn't figure it out. I waiting on hold 25 minutes while a lady "took notes". Only to find out no one else could find these notes ... Highly unprofessional. Losing tons of work. They could care less.

Today I called in to inquire about any possible incentives offered by your company. My phone isn't in good shape and I wanted to know if I could lease a newer model phone.
The CSR that handled my call was the rudest person to date that I have ever spoken to as a paying customer. He threatened to cancel my phone service, cursed at me, called me a liar and refused to transfer me to a supervisor.
After all that chaos, a woman got on the phone and transfered me to a supposed manager. After the call I discovered my phone had been disconnected. I called back and was told that my phone was reported stolen. I was told to prove that I didn't report my phone stolen or wait 72 hours for a response from a ticket that was submitted.
I have the calls recorded and will be seeking legal advice.
Not only do I pay for monthly cellular service, I also have your home phone service. I work in a call center and I recommend your company to all my customers because of your affordable rates.
After my experience today, I have lost faith and trust in your company. I am asking you to restore that and rid your great company of ignorance like what I encountered today. I was able to record some of the call. Please pull my number [protected] and listen to the call. I am requesting something be done or I will take my services elsewhere.

Unethical behaviour
on July 1st, 2017, I purchased a cell phone at Walmart, in Queensbury, N.Y. the product serial # was [protected]. The cell phone was a Samsung Galaxy J7. Then on July 2nd, I called in to Straight Talk and asked for a 3 month service card. I used my Visa card for the payment. My bank made payment on 07/05/2017 of $141.31. When I went to use the phone, for some reason it kept telling me that I had no service. I thought that for some reason the visa payment did not go through for some reason, so I went and bought a 1 month card at Walmart on on 07/24/2017. The service pin # was [protected]. The phone continued to tell me that I had no service. At that point I called Straight Talk, at [protected]. I gave them all the info that they requested, and they said that everything was ok and asked me to try the phone again. Still got the same result. they said to wait 10 minutes and try again, and then call back.I did this.Same result. I called back and was hung up on 3 times before I got to talk to a rep who did take time to try to help me, but after several more attempts, still no service. The rep finally said that the area that I was in was not getting the signal. She then told me to go to another area and try I did this and once more, no signal. The rep then suggested that if I continued to not be able to get a signal I should take the phone back to the store, which I did on 07/25/2017.The store refunded my money for the phone. Then I rememembered that I had another cell phone that I had through StraightTalk when I lived in Arizona. I called Straight Talk again and asked if I could have my time put on my old phone # [protected]. That was as far as I got, because no would talk to me because I could not give them sim # or the meid #. I attempted to explain to them that I had returned the phone to the store, and I no longer had access to this info. They said that they could not help me without that info. I was upset because I just paid Straight Talk $186.31 and I am not getting anything for this. I hungup then called later, and got the same results. I would appreciate it if I could be reimbursed the monies that I have paid for a service that I never received.( $186.31)
Wireless / sim card
I called 6 days ago to get a SIM card because they said they couldn't reactivate the one I had, decided to call & make sure it was sent, nope she lied and from reading through your reviews this is your common practice if I'd have known I wouldn't have even started with Straight Talk the woman sat there and took my address and all my information and didn't send me a card crappy service.
Guess I'll try out the new Comcast Mobile it couldn't be any worse same price and better services

Ok I called about my cell phone service and to have them fix my problem. And the guy I was talking was rude and lied to me about my service and when I asked to talk to his supervisor he said that I am talking to one. And when I comfronted him about him lieing to me. He said well well that's before I seen what service you had. And he tried to tell me that my phone wasn't the same as my wife's phone even though they are the same and made the same. And he tried to tell me I didn't know what I was talking about. Me and my brother both work on cell phone towers I know how it works. I need to know what can I do about this person that was rude to me. If you not going to fix this. I will file a complaint with the BBB. And they will fix it..

Straight Talk Reps or rude and disrespectful. They hang up on you and won't help with a problem. On top of that Straight Talk will steal your money. They won't refund for a products not working. So sad. Will never use them and I will tell everyone I know and also have them tell everyone they know. Also sad is this complaint has to be 350 letters long to even get someone to look at it or respond. SMH
Bring your own phone

I am very disappointed with your bring your own phone plan. I recently bought a Samsung galaxy s8+ unlocked phone for the bring your own phone plan. Sadly my new phone was not compatible with your service. If you have a plan that says bring your own phone why does the phone have to be compatible if you bring it over. If it's not compatible your basically telling people to buy a new phone. You also basically only have one color of s8+ orchid gray. I would have liked midnight black. To say the least I am very disappointed.

i called 10:27pm est // and spoke to rep marecor ID: 512973 in tech support// i explained to her that i never ran out of data in one week and that she look into it and if she could reset my data because i never had this issue before. she told me she that i have one gb left and that she cant reset my data because . i told her i saw a 12min video on youtube to see how fast my data is being taken away and it showed one gb was taken away for 12mins . and i dont understand how thats so. well she refuse to reset my data and transfer me to another women name shahanie ID: 516148 Now i dont know if they was even being truthful with their ID(s) but they second one said she can not reset my data aswell and hanged up in my face at 11:49pm est.

First they need to hire American speaking people. Second stop robbing the consumers. When theres a problem with there service fix it plan and simple. My complaint is the same as every other person on here. Ive waited for over an hr to speak to a supervisor, Ive been sent sim card after sim card, my reload card was nevered credited back to me straight talk stole my $45.00. CSR thinks turning the phone off then on will slove their defected product. Their phones as well as their CRS REPS are not that great. Just another reason why Donald Trump says keep it in America.
