Straight Talk Wireless Data consumption & practices

I have been a customer of StraightTalk for a number of years, and have always used the plan that contains 5gb of data monthly. Within that time I have never exceeded the 5mb of data within the allowed 30 day plan.
As usual, on my renewal date I renewed my services of unlimited talk & text, with 5 gb of data for 30 days.
However, two days later I received a message stating that I had consumed 5 gb of data within TWO days, and my services were stopped at some instances and slowed to 2g at other times.
I contacted them twice and rather than any type of investigation or any consideration that maybe they were wrong... they refused to even think the mistake just may of been theirs, there was NO consideration on their part in any way on the matter. I was granted the only option of restoration of my data was to purchase ANOTHER 45.00 plan.
Rather than me telling them what I had done with my service, they informed me where and what I had done with my service.
Would you know today, I received an offer via text to purchase more data, for only $10.00 more I could speed up my data. For a multi million dollar industry to conduct business in this way is appalling and rather sicking, I will be finding another provider, and advising everyone I know to do the same.

I too have been a straight talk user for YEARS and I am too having issues with DATA! I have NEVER had a problem with 5gb of data in a month until they got hit with a lawsuit about it, after they had to payout money to people for false advertising, I have been having issues every month with my data, about 2 weeks before my service runs out they put me down to 2g's (ain't no way I'm going thru 5gb of data in 30 days by myself when I'm on my phone the same amount I have always been on it AND I even have data saver on!) So now they up it to 8gb I just put mins on my phone a week ago and they have ALREADY sent me a text I've exceeded my data usage.. Ain't no damn way! Ive done figured out that when they cut u off and put u on 2gs they DO NOT stop Ur data it keeps running so by the time you put mins on your phone you are already almost at the 5 or 8gbs! I'm getting so tired of this being an EVERY month thing!

They just cutted off my high speed data almost weeks before I needed a new service card. I called them twice and was told my high speed data was used up! Each month my h-data seems to get shorter day wise! I always sing out of all signin sites to cut tge connect in order to save h-data! I also limited my time on these sites! Both reps tried to get me to buy a new data card. The last told me that the 2 G speed was used up! These people are trying to maje their customers pay more for the service we have already paid for. No customer appreication or thank from them. I've been customer for over 8 years! After mentioning a possible class action suit they restored my 2 Gb data.. I check my data usage and amazingly it was 5.01 Gb uses. This was after I tried to access the Web after being turned off

Straight Talk Wireless Unlocking my iphone

iphone 5 phone number [removed]
Name on Account: [removed]

I joined straight talk 9 months or so ago and paid over $300 for the iphone that came with the plan. I moved to Canada on a work permit in February 2017 which meant I had to cease using my monthly plan. Consequently, I need a service provider in Canada and would like to continue using my iphone so I called straight talk and asked them to kindly unlock my phone. I was transferred to the unlocking department and was told that straight talk only unlocks phones if you have used their service for 12 months. I asked if they could make an exception as I have moved to a different country and there is no way I can continue using their service right now. I was continually told that I would have to use their service for 12 months.

I asked to speak to the manager and was transferred but conveniently for straight talk, the manager could not hear me an ended the call. I called again two more times and was told the same thing and asked to speak to their supervisor and was told that a supervisor will call me back but I have not heard back.

The problem I have here is that I have not gone to another service provider in the USA. I moved to another country and an exception cannot be made? Straight talk advertise that they are a no contract phone provider but this is a lie, false advertising, misleading and a scam. If you are not unlocking the phone until 12 months have passed, you are 12 month contract service provider! I think its utterly disgusting that straight talk will not unlock the phone, I am living in a different country, there is nothing I can do! I cannot use their service even if I wanted! in that case they should be refunding me the money that I paid for the phone! If this does not get resolved, I will be going to the media and exposing straight talk for the scam they are!

The same thing happened to me. Without service for over a month. Had to buy a flip phone and new number because I couldn't get ST to unlock my phone to transfer to AT&T so I could get service where I live. I didn't want to change, I've been with ST talk for years...so when they informed me I had to stay with them 12 months, before they'd unlock the phone, all I could think was didn't I buy a no contract service? I did, but I don't remember being informed of this unlock 12 month waiting period. (was it in the fine print I'm sure I didn't read) I too, want to know how they can get away with this. I've no idea why the signal died from ST, but it did. Why I wanted a no contract phone, in case that happened I could sign up with a service that does work. I have it now, but I've lost the phone number I've had for years. It was my landline number...it's been such a mess. Money I spent that isn't going to be refunded. At&t getting money for a service that isn't going to go through. ST taking this months auto paymt. I'm not Rockaffella, but I wish I was today. I'd sue them. Dang...hours spent on the phone trying to fix it. But it's unfixable. So the auto payments were canceled today. I'll miss that smart phone. But boy did I get an education, a costly one.

Straight Talk Wireless Customer service

I have been without a phone for a total of a week and a half. Between ticket orders and sim cards not being mailed when they were supposed to be. Spent full days being sennt from one person to another never getting anywhere. A 45$ phone card wasted, never got to make one cask or text. It's been an absolute nightmare and i still have no service. Will probably be stuck all weekend with no phone. I have lost work and other important phone calls during this time. I am beyond furious and wish i had chosen a different provider.

Straight Talk Wireless Straight talk customer stole my net10 account

Found out today that my net10 wireless account was canceled by someone with a straight talk account on 3/20/2017. The really horrible part is that they took the automatic payment from my net10 wireless account to pay for the straight talk account on 4/10/2017.

I have the transaction id number that lists a phone with an imei that isn't mine and an email from straight talk thanking me for the payment even though i'm not a straight talk customer.

And, neither net10 or, straight talk seem capable of rectifying the situation even though, I have given them the name and the phone number of the offending party.

I am a low-income individual. My youngest son is autistic, and my oldest is sick. If things were to get worse with either of them I would be royally screwed without a working phone.

What I want now, is for both companies to admit where they dropped the ball-I mean, they let this guy cancel my account without checking with me to make certain it was me!

I would like the money for the current service period refunded ($38.12 usd) and I would like both companies to cover the price of my buying a new phone as my current one has been compromised as well as transferring to a new carrier who is not part of their network.

Straight Talk Wireless customer service

Two weeks ago, I called straight talk's customer service line to order a new sim card for a previously activated phone. After being on the phone with the lady for over an hour, I received the incorrect sim card. The sim card I received was for the phone we we're already using. However, I called again today and a man named Don informed me that I had the correct sim card. It is 3 or 4 times the size of the correct sim card.
Previous to this, I had to wait 72 hours for a phone to be activated while I spent 10 cumulative hours on the phone with customer service.
We will not be continuing service. I have been on the phone with customer service more than my husband uses his phone. We will be switching him back to Cricket and paying the extra $5.00 a month for significantly better service.

Straight Talk Wireless customer service /phone galaxy core prime

Purchased Phone and the service a year ago and for the last 10 months I have had nothing but complaints and have called and called and still get the runaround from people that swear they speak English but their accent is so thick you can't understand them and then they want to be belligerent and rude and nasty I would recommend a class action suit against the whole company because Verizon will be taking all of your customers. My phone gets too hot and burns you. Plus apps close on there own or not open at all. Like FB, FBMSG, chrome, Google. Customer service said that maybe the apps updated and no longer work on my phone. Really how #### stupid can you be or think that we're that damn stupid. Verizon is now offering the same thing. You can bet that when my card runs out, I would've switched before then. Let's just remove all warning labels and let natural selection take its course. I may be crazy but I'm not as mentally challenged as these so-called tech's and customers service people. Telling Me that my phone is Verizon when everything has "Samsung Galaxy Core Prime" It's a Samsung product.

Straight Talk Wireless data usage throttling

I have been a straight customer for over 2 years. Almost every month, my high speed data would be slowed to worse than dial up speed. I decided that maybe there was fine print that i had missed with the 45.00 a month plan so i switched last month to the 55 dollar a month plan so i could have more data per month (10gb). Yesterday, I reached 8.74 gb and it was slowed because i had supposabley reached my limit. Upon further investigation, i discovered straight talk is under a law suit through the Federal Trade Commission because it has done this to so many people. I will be filing with them today. The company rips people off, and 90% of the people that work there dont speak english. I would strongly reccomend everyone else who has this problem to contact the Federal Trade Commission.

Straight Talk Wireless number and time transfer

my husband lost his phone and a friend gave us a phone to use to transfer his number to, this phone is exactly like the one my husband lost. Well I tried to transfer the stuff to this phone and they told me I had to take it to wal-mart, so i did I spent and hour and a half in wal-mart with the guy in the wireless phone place and they say the phone is inactive and they have to have the receipt before they can do any thing. What kind of crap is that. The phones are identical, and both straight talk phones. They keep telling me that I will have to purchase another phone or pull the receipt out of my ---. I don't get it. I just spent an hour on the phone with them again, asked for there complaint department and they told me they don't have one. They just keep telling me they can not activate and inactive phone with out the receipt. My husband has been battleing cancer for four years, and he really needs to have a phone. I can not afford to buy a phone. What can I do?

Straight Talk Wireless poor customer service and unethical behavior

On 3/6/2017 I contacted customer support because a phone on my account was deactivated without warning. When I called Straight Talk customer service, I was read the terms and conditions, but never received an explanation as to why the ism card was made inactive. There was one rep that talked over me the entire time and would not have a conversation with me. He continuously read the terms many times. I have been with Straight Talk for many years and have four phones on my account. I am having to purchase another ism card for this phone. This was the worst customer service that I have ever experienced, plus to deactivate my phone without warning is unacceptable. I also lost the remaining time on my account.

Straight Talk Wireless michael the customer service manager

This manager was the rudest, most unhelpful person I have ever worked with. Even tired to deactivate my personal number to get my husbands working. He couldn't tell us what was wrong or how to fix it. He wouldn't corporate. & when I asked for a transfer he told me it was impossible. This was horrible service. Almost enough for me to leave straight talk forever

Straight Talk Wireless customer service

Hello,
My name is Marilynn Boyd. I called you guys earlier because my phone was stolen. I'd given the young lady all of my info and then I was transferred again. They told me to do the automatic call back because it would take 30 minutes for a rep. Well, the rep has called me back and asked me could she help me, I gave her the info as well and she said hold on. Now, I have been on hold for 30 minutes. I am recording the call because I hear everyone talking in the background but no one is talking to me.

Straight Talk Wireless customer service

I've been with Straight Talk for years. I just bought a Samsung Galaxy 5 two weeks ago and the battery gets super hot, screen too. I don't leave my WiFi or data on when I'm not using it (using the phone or when the display is off), I don't let apps run in the background, I only have it sync once a day, I never turn on location services, no live wallpaper, screen timeout is at 1 minute, my touch keys don't light up, no Bluetooth or GPS...etc...I know how to save battery power. I had them set it up at Walmart, so I wouldn't have to do it. Needless to say, customer service WAS JUST A NIGHTMARE! They always want me to call from a different phone so they can check certain "things" & turn my phone on & off for an hr. I asked her like what? & oh my she didn't like that! I told her my battery isn't damaged, my phone works, but I just need a new battery. I was very polite, until the end. I pay $300 for a phone and it's my fault the battery is defective and doesn't charge? I go to bed with 100% & wake up to 94%. And the heat that comes out of this phone is not right! I said, "I'll just buy a new battery myself and "beep" off. Horrible, just horrible!

Straight Talk Wireless 10gb refill card

I've wasted an hour of my morning trying to talk to 'tech support' with only 1 of the 6 people even trying to help. I've never had problems with you guys, ever. I always recommend you to my friends and family because you can't beat the price and service! Until today, yesterday 02/11/17 I noticed my internet was super slow. So I checked my data (Like I follow every month) and noticed I was only at 8.02gb so I thought maybe there was just an issue with a tower, no big deal. I wake up today and it's still slow. So I call, biggest joke of my life, no one was helpful or let alone they couldn't act even like they cared (I know they don't i've worked there job before, but at least pretend!) besides the 2nd gentleman I spoke with which he said he would fix my data and I should just restart my phone after hanging up with him because I didn't have a 2nd number for him to call me back on (Single mother, lives alone, every other representative acted like I was such an inconvenience that I didn't have a 2nd number, sorry can't afford 2 phone bills?) I did as told and some things would load but some things still wouldn't. So I called back, the first thing out of every persons mouth was "you've reached your 10" when I explained I follow my data every month and this isn't possible all anyone would say is 'I can see you've reached your 10, you can add more if you'd like?" uh no! I won't be adding anything until the issue I called about is fixed! I also will be telling everyone to steer clear of straight talk as customer service is awful, they don't care about customers one bit! All i'm asking is that my issue is resolved or I will be leaving and going with a more honest and helpful company!
