super 8 oskaloosa, ia
I reserved a room at the Super 8 in Oskaloosa, IA; I then read terrible reviews about the establishment so I cancelled my reservation and booked at another hotel. Despite cancelling, my credit card was charged 72.80. When I called the hotel to inquire, I had to repeatedly ask if I was speaking to the Super 8 because the person that answered just repeatedly yelled "can I help you?" into the phone. Once she confirmed that it was the Super 8, I told her the issue and demanded that I send her my credit card statement as proof that they had charged me. I told her that I would not be sending her my credit card statement, to which she replied that she wanted my credit card number; I again declined. I gave her my name, the date of the charge, and the amount. She then again demanded my credit card statement or "the numbers" as proof that they charged me. I didn't know what "the numbers" mean, so I asked her and she then yelled "there is nothing I can do to help you ma'am" and hung up on me. So I guess that's one way for her to make her money... I'm still out 72.80 despite never stepping foot in the hotel.
breakfast always missing
I've stayed at your motels a couple times now during the same roadtrip and I've been really frustrated by the inconsistent policy about breakfast. Multiple times I've woken up and gone downstairs to find breakfast completely gone and cleaned up by 9am. This seems ridiculous as I'm paying for this, and on vacation people tend to like to sleep past 8am. Not even coffee is left out. Furthermore, once we had a woman come out and start taking away the milk and other items while guests were still getting bowls of cereal. I only put one of the locations it happened at below.
super 8 oswego rd, liverpool ny 13088
I stayed at your establishment on Wednesday July 5 through Friday July 7, 2017. Soon after leaving, myself and my 6 year old son had a red rash form on our bodies. I work in the health care system and upon researching, we had contracted bed bug bites. I have contacted management at the facility numerous times with no response. Not only do I feel I need to be compensated for my night stay, but also I was trying to alert the facility to the problem. Should I contact the department of health ?
I would appreciate any help that you can provide in this matter.
Sincerely,
La'Shaya Breland
horrible experience
When we checked in, we were told our room was ready. Once we we got to our room, we had to wait for over 15 mins while it was cleaned. The pool was murky and very dirty. We called the front desk to let them know. The front desk said they would have maintenance come clean it, but never did. The exit door to out side by the pool would not open from the inside. That is a huge fire hazard. I was very disappointed and will not choose Super 8 again. The point of us getting a hotel was for our children to swim.
super 8 conway
My family, including 2 teens and my boyfriend stayed here June 2, 2017. We were kept up by noisy neighbors (4 adults and 2+ kids or more). The adults were outside smoking and talking all night while the young kids screamed up and down the balcony. We could even hear them through the walls. I called the office and the lady supposedly told them to settle down. They never did. Had to call a couple times. There were bed bugs in the bed and the girls were scared to sleep. Finally the neighbors settled down sime time after 3 a.m. So on hardly any sleep, i informed the manager the next morning and all she did was give me $10 back. Im from WV & over 1/2 of West Virginians travel to S.C. So i will be informing people thru social media & wherever else i can, NOT TO STAY AT THIS MOTEL, EVER! The manager was very rude and didn't want to compensate us. WE PAID $110 for one night of HELL and 3 hrs sleep!
cleanliness and bugs
I booked super 8 hotel room in Berkley West Virginia which myself, my son and granddaughter arrived June 30th for one night as we were heading to Virginia to visit family. We arrived late that night. When we got our room we went in and found entrance light in room did not work. When we pulled back the blankets on both beds the sheets were dirty, stained and there was black hairs all over the sheets. We got new sheets from the front desk. Front desk could not fix the light. Went to wash my hands in bathroom and there was no soap. When we got up the next morning I noticed 2 spider bites on me. One on my right hand and one on my right arm. When we checked out that morning I told the person at the desk. No apology no nothing. I took pictures of those bites today as they are very big, painful. For what I paid for the room I am very upset. Please contact me at [protected]. My name is Mary Hahn
stay at super 8 in hot springs, s. d.
I am now putting documentation together to prove that the manager at this hotel charged me for a night I was not there. The ridiculous part is that she swears she did not and is not wrong and I have my credit card statement to prove it. Not sure if no double check on these people or not. The name is Annette Monahan and we stayed at the hotel from June 3-7 and she ended up doing the charge correct and then reversing it and adding June 2nd to our stay. She said she did not do that. Let me see if she did not who did. By the way we were at a super 8 on the 2nd but in murdo s:d. And have proof of that also. I am spending hours on this between Wyndham card and super8 but we are talking about $91.78 difference. Now you would think she would have some type of checks and balance or does she just not know how to do paperwork. Our 4wheeling group stayed there but would not dare do that again. jacuzzi suite
After checking into the hotel room our toilet didn't work and the jacuzzi didn't work, it wouldn't hold water. I tried to explain it to the manager and he didn't care. He brought a plunger to the room and said it was fixed and it was not fixed as we plunged the toilet every time to get it to flush. We went up to use the restroom up front and tell them about the toilet not working and the jacuzzi not holding water a woman was also telling the man working that there were roaches in her room - he didn't care at all. He was lounging on the couch with his shoes off and watching the TV. When I asked for a manager he said they weren't available and couldn't give me a number to call. As I was walking out of the office he talked at me to make sure I was leaving at 11 am and I reassured him that we would not be wasting our money another night with them. So I was calling coorperate this morning and immediately got a call from a man from the motel location we stayed at - when I answered the man started griping at me for calling coorperate on his location and asked why I didn't tell anyone working there and I had reassured him I tried telling his people - he said he had no plan on his end to resolve the situation. As a business onwer myself - of my employees were running my establishment this way I would want to know so I could make it right with the customers spending their hard earned money with my business. I truly hope this man be resolved.
filthy room - extra charge on credit card - unethical behavior
I had a 3 day reservation at the Super 8 in Beresford, SD. The room was very dirty - mold along the bottom of the bathtub, bathroom light switch plate was filthy as was the wall around it, stains on the worn carpet, stains on bathroom towels and more. When I checked out, the manager ran my card a second time. The room charge was $129/day and another charge for almost $300 showed up on my bank account. This put my 3 day stay at a little over $700. The manager was not forthcoming in returning the overcharge until I asked my bank to get involved. I was also shaken up by a very, very loud argument the manager had with his wife that went on for several minutes in the front desk office. I will never stay at a Super 8 again. I don't feel there's any accountability for the gross negligence there.
super 8 hotel 6445 james circle n. brooklyn center, mn 55430
I made a reservation 2 weeks prior to going #[protected] I get to the hotel and you have your staff arguing and debating with a customer. the customer had stayed in this hotel multiple times and said the plumbing is messed up the gentleman said there was human faeces coming from the bathtub your employee debated with this man for at least 10 minutes while the front counter was getting backed up with people trying to check in. I was tired and irritated sitting there listening and hearing what was going on this super 8 has no good customer service at all. By the way I have this on video of the man and your employee debating. So when finally over your employee finally ask to help me and I said can you please cancel my reservation. He told me that sense I made reservation online I would have to call them I said okay called them they told me they could cancel reservation so I went back and forth with this for at least 3 hrs. I went back to super 8 three times that day trying to make sure cancel. Here is the kicker you guys charged me for the Friday I did not stay and said I was a no show I was not a no show I came and your establishment was not up to par and I was not going to stay there under those conditions. That is very nervy to send me and e-mail saying I was a no show. This hotel was not about pleasing the customer I would like my Sunday June 25th refunded
super 8, auburn, ca
Incident: 22 June 2017. Room was dingy, half the lights didn't work, and there were no available outlets. Toilet clogged and I had to unplug it myself. The room was rented from June 16- 23. Wednesday night my daughter dyed her son's hair with washout blue hair color. During his shower a blue ring was left around the tub. My daughter had used the same products at her home. She was able to clean the color off with vinegar and baking soda. She had planned on using the same method to clean out the tub the following day (Thursday), when we returned home from taking family pictures. When we returned to the room Thursday evening the room key had stopped working. This had also happened to us on Monday. So I went to the office, once again, to get the key working.
The office staff was working on fixing the key, when the manager came out and started yelling at me. He claimed I had destroyed the room, ruined his "new" carpet, and proclaimed, "How am I supposed to rent the room when you have destroyed it?". There was more he said, but due to my distress, I cannot remember everything he said verbatim. He yelled at me for a minimum of 5 minutes, although, it felt like much longer. I walked out in tears. I was humiliated and mortified. There was no "Ms., I am distressed about the current condition of your room, were you aware of this damage?" "We feel that when you check out, you will need to pay for these damages." There was no giving me a chance to explain, or defend myself, there was nothing; just yelling. There was no opportunity for me to make things right. I was charged $200 for "damages", immediately, not even when I checked out of my room. They had charged my account without my knowledge. I was under the impression that if a room is damaged, you were told and charged at check out. This is the first I have ever been charged for damage, so I might be wrong in this assumption.
Your company should know that I am known for my consideration in leaving things in the condition I have found them, but a majority of the time it is in better condition then I found it. For example, I pick up trash that I see around the area, I wipe down counters, I usually take out my own trash, and other such things. I do this because I feel that I am a compassionate individual that would rather help others than cause them additional work. I am not a complainer; but this situation has distressed me so much I feel strongly that I cannot let this go without letting people know of the mistreatment I incurred. The manager at Super 8 in Auburn, CA was the rudest person I have ever encountered! If this is how he treats his customers, he has no business working with the public.
Due to his treatment of me, I immediately returned to our room and packed my daughter and grandson's up, so we could immediately leave the premises. Upon entering the room, and packing, we noticed that in addition to the blue ring around the tub, there were now two quarter size blue dots in front of the bathroom on the carpet. Those were not there when we had left that morning. I am assuming those happened while the room was cleaned.
I take full responsibility for the blue ring around the tub, but I feel strongly that someone should take responsibility for how I was treated. I lost a night in the room that I had already paid for and was charged an additional $200. I had every intention of cleaning the "mess" and paying for anything that could not be cleaned but I was never given the opportunity to correct anything the hotel manager believed I had done wrong. I was just yelled at! This injustice needs to be corrected. I feel strongly that the least the manager could do is apologize for his behavior towards me. Due to this experience I will not spend another night in a super 8, nor will my 5 children, nor their family or friends. It is a shame because the rest of your staff had been very kind and helpful during our stay.
hotel customer service and cleanliness
Recently, myself, husband, and three young children stayed in a Super 8 Motel in Virginia Beach, VA. (1719 Atlantic Ave) We stayed from June 27th to June 30th. Normally, I always enjoy my stays at Super 8 but this has been by far the worst experience I have had. From customer service to cleanliness, I have nothing good to say. First, when we checked in, we opened the door to a dirty room. Dirty diapers, pills, and sand were everywhere. It was a hassle to get someone to come clean it. The next day, we went out to the beach and came back at 1pm to our room that wasn't serviced. We called at 3:30pm for someone to come and we were informed that everyone left and no one was here to clean it. The next day, the exact same thing happened when we came back to a dirty room. We called the front desk to ask about it and complain about yesterday and the said "ain't no body call me at 3:30!" At this point, all we wanted were clean towels and trash bags for the trash cans. It took them over an hour to come up and give it to us. We asked when the room could be cleaned and the housekeeping lady said, "I ain't going to [censor] you, it's going to be a minute." Finally, we got our room cleaned around 3pm on the 29th. Next, the overall cleanliness of the hotel and room was way below par. The hotel hallways were dirty, wet, and just gross. The pool was [censor]my, cigarette butts were everywhere, and trash was blowing around. With our room, the bathroom was the worst. There was mold in the shower and crusty stuff all over the bathroom shower, floor, and toilet. In the sink area, I spotted a few bugs. (In the picture, there is a bug crawling on my son's bottle cap) There were human hairballs coming out from under the chairs and tables in the main living area. Also, there was trash under both beds, the fridge was dirty, and wouldn't stay shut. (Where my sons medication had to be stored) Two out of three of my kids and myself ended up getting sick during our stay. This was our first vacation as a family and the hotel was a large negative part of it. Overall, we had a terrible experience with this hotel and will not be coming back nor recommending it to anyone. I have attached some pictures of the hotel room to back up my statements.
billing/stolen credit card
Date: Tue, 27 Jun 2017 19:04:55 -0400
Subject: I deserve an explanation
I received an email today saying that my card had been declined at Super 8 motel in Sandusky, Ohio. I had stayed there well over a year ago and had issues then... we booked online for a stay on my 29th(I believe) of 2016 and the money was on hold showing it had been taken out of my husbands account... when we arrived for check in they informed us that they never got a reservation or payment from us and it must of been the 3rd party that did all that... so I had to use my card. I paid 103.50 and got a paid receipt. It's now June 27th of 2017 and with no contact since our stay whatsoever I get this email... I had though my card had got stolen and had to have my card cancelled... I called the hotel and they said I had a balance and they were trying to get the money from me by randomly using my card information WITH OUT MY PERMISSION OR NOTIFICATION AND I HAD NO BALANCE! The girl seemed shaken as if I had caught her in some kind of scandalous move she was into... and she said it was a mistake and was in a hurry to hang up. So no I've been INCONVENIENCED because now my card with all my money on it is deactivated until I receive my new card in 10 BUSINESS DAYS! I'VE GOT KIDS THAT NEED TO EAT AND IT'S A CREDIT CARD SO NOT LIKE I CAN JUST RUN TO THE BANK AND PULL MONEY OUT! I'M SO DISGUSTED WITH ALL OF THIS... HOW DOES SOMEONE DO THIS? I'M GOING TO CONTACT THE PROPER AUTHORITY OVER THIS BECAUSE THIS IS JUST WRONG IN SO MANY WAYS AND MY KIDS AND I NOW HAVE TO SUFFER BC OF THIS MESS...
customer service
I have called and tried countless times to obtain the receipts for our stay at the below hotel and am receiving horrible customer service. My last request for these receipts was this morning at 11:00 am when I was told that they would be sent right over and I have stilled not received them. The person at the front desk says that he cannot help me and it is pretty imperative that I receive this documentation. I have three charges for $369.69 and one for $353.40 on May 22, 2017. It would be greatly appreciated if I could get some assistance with this.

my horrible stay at super 8 at virginia beach oceanfront
Arrived late in my room due to an incident that landed my mother in ER all day in North Carolina. When I arrived that night my check in was easy, but when I filled out for my type of vehicle I let the lady know I have a temp tag because I had just bought my vehicle 2 days before. She told me to put that it's a Tennessee temp tag and I did. As I looked into the parking lot I noticed it was full and cars were all blocked in. So when I asked about parking she said they had another lot a block away but if I could find a spot to squeeze in the parking lot i could do that. There was nowhere left to get so i went to the other parking area that night. She gave me a Super 8 parking pass with the dates of my stay and I left. The next day I went to Hampton to visit my nieces and nephew and they came back with me for a while. When I got back to the hotel, after getting blocked it for about twenty minutes another vehicle move from a spot at the front of the parking lot (the other one was full) and i pulled into that spot. The kids played at the beach, ate, and changed clothes and when I went to take them home, my vehicle was gone. They had towed it! When I went to talk to them they were very rude and said I wasn't allowed to park there although I had been told I could by an employee and other cars were out there while she was saying I couldn't. Then she told me they weren't allowed to call a manager and she would be there the next morning. At that point I'm very upset. I have kids I need to get home out of the rain and two employees that act like they didn't care . Then they tell me my tag wasn't filled out correctly and people steal them sometimes, like I'm a thief. Finally after other customers come back and forth complaining about parking, and me making them aware of how I was treated, the told me my vehicle would be released but I had to find a ride to get it. Later when I returned another worker was there and said my tag wasn't filled out correctly and she had heard of the confusion. Plus when i picked it up the paper said i had no pass which was still in the window and that there was a verbal warning...not at all.And when we had left housekeeping went to our rooms and took dirty towels but didn't leave any. Overall, I liked my room but my stay was horrible. They should at least have enough parking spaces for their guests. Never again!
bed bugs in highland ny super 8 motel
I was a guest in a Super 8 Motel of Highland NY, where I left covered in bed bugs bite. I proceeded to my home town after the stay where I was instantly seen by a doctor with many medications. I lost an entire week of my life, having to stay in bed with nothing but medications. I now have scars on my skin that people look at funny when they see me. I also have a fear of hotels and stays away from home. This cost me too much money and now my finances are in disarray from this situation. My depression has topped the highest it has ever been, my family lost out on many functions while having to live somewhere else until I got healthier, my hospital bills are rolling in, I paid for perscriptions out of pocket, and all time as well as money was put into cleaning clothes and items that stayed in room. I have contacted the health department with pictures, doctor confirmations, and bills that have racked up. I have recently contacted the manager yet again about this issue and was completely put on the back burner while they became quite rude. I was told she looked herself and it was clean. She then stated she has given the room to many since then and not one complaint. Therefore, they have rented the room to guest before getting it exterminated. Others may be bit and do not realize it due to not being allergic. However, I had a major allergic reaction and this put huge damage in my life. I am extremely unhappy with the way this motel is ran and how unethical it is. I was a paying guest who was treated unfairly as though I made all of this up. Again, I have all proof from the hospital I was checked at.
dirty room/hotel
Good morning,
I am writing to you to let you know I was very unsatisfied with the hotel located at 3933 s. Lotz rd, canton, MI 48188. I booked the hotel through my employers website (walmart) at a discounted rate of approx. $82. 88 a night for Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17. I paid with my debit card even though it said the rate was non-refundable. With paying the price I did per night, I didn't believe I would have a problem when getting to the hotel so I reserved the rooms. Well, we finally got to the hotel and I asked if they had any rooms on the first floor due to my mother being handicapped and struggled to walk and they said they didn't so our room was on the third floor. When we went to get in the elevator, the floor was extremely sticking but that was the only way we could get my mom to the room. After reaching the third floor, outside the elevator was a lot of dried dirt on the floor. We walked down to our room and once inside, I went to move the chair (only one in the room that didn't move on wheels) for my mom, I noticed the seat was extremely dirty with what looked like a gummy bear or something sticking to it and it had other food crumbs all over the seat. As soon as walking in the room, I noticed something all over the side of the refrigerator (old food or garbage), a hairball or something similar behind the microwave and when I opened the refrigerator, there was a hair in it. As my mom waited in the room, I went to the front desk and explained what was wrong and she offered me to look at another room on the first floor (which I was told earlier they didn't have). I said I would look. It was cleaner, however, after seeing the first room, I was not comfortable even staying in the hotel. It had an odd smell to it, the numbers were painted on the buttons for the elevator and just didn't feel clean. Needless to say, we did not stay at the hotel. I did not think to take pictures of it at the time. I was very dissatisfied with the hotel overall for the price. I feel I should receive the money back I spent for the rooms even though the sight said it was non refundable for cancellation or change. I didn't cancel or change the date. I just refused to stay in a dirty hotel.
misrepresentation of prices and cancellation policy
June 19, 2017 i made a reservation through Kayak for a Super 8 room in Ashland WI for a date in mid August. I spoke with an agent named Karen. She quoted a price and said it could be cancelled within 24 hours of the arrival date. I asked her if the quoted price was a total amount with taxes etc. She assured me it was the total. I asked her for the exact date and time i needed to cancel get a full refund. She gave me an exact date and time that was 24 hrs before my arrival date. I checked my Credit Card account that same day and saw the amount had an added charge of $44.28 for Tax Recovery and Service Fees. I called GetARoom, which was listed as the booking company, immediately and told them i wanted to cancel my reservation because of the misrepresentation of the price. They said i couldn't because of their "no cancellation" policy. I'm in the process of contesting it with my credit card company. They are Scam artists and i see several other complaints of people who had the same or similar experiences as mine.
unauthorized credit card charges
June 20, 2017
To Whom It May Concern,
I booked a room for my parents at the Spokane Valley Super 8 for June 15, 2017, a one night reservation. Upon checking in the front desk employee what asked to remove my credit card and replace it with my parent’s card for billing, we were told no problem. I received a text alert from my bank account that same night showing a charge of 76.47 was taken from my account. I called the front desk and explained what had happened and the employee said she would take care of the matter.
Upon checking out, my sister spoke with the general manager who asked for the last four digits of my card so he could charge the right account. Within ten minutes my card was charge a second time for 76.47, another call to the manager and I was told he is very sorry and that the charges would be reversed. I have left message throughout the weekend for a call back from him to deal with this matter and have yet to hear from anyone.
We are now going on the 6th day and no charges have been reversed back into my account. My account is now over drawn and I have late charges on a bill that was supposed to be paid on Saturday. My family and I have called several times to clear up this matter and the response we get is rude, unhelpful or told to leave a message which is never returned.
I have enclosed a copy of my bank statement showing the two charges. A complaint has been filed by not only me but my parents through your Customer Service Department, and the names of the employees that were rude to my family on the phone has been added to the complaint. I was also give the number of John Valetta and Jim Darby. Which if this matter is not settled as I was told they would be I will keep moving up the chain until someone takes care of this.
The reviews I have read online are not all that good and I wish I would have read them first before putting my elderly parents in a place like yours.
bed bugs, filthy rooms
I do will not recommend anyone to stay at Super 8 because it is the most filthiest place ever. When me, my boyfriend and 1 year old daughter arrived at the hotel, they put us in a smoking room. From my understanding, I thought all hotels nowadays don't allow anybody to smoke in neither of the rooms. However, this hotel does. Anyways, when me and my family got in the smoking room, we automatically requested to be in a nonsmoking room. They finally let us move into another, however, this room was clean but I smelled like a wet animal had been in the room along with stains on the comforters and the carpet going towards the bathroom was destroyed. We complained about getting a refund but they wouldn't refund us our money so they moved us to another room on the other side of the hotel. This room wa better until we discovered that the tub was not clean and the bed had bed bugs. Late early morning (5:55) My boyfriend got bit up all throughout the night by the bugs not knowing what it was biting him. we contacted front desk to speak w/ a manager about the issue but couldn't talk to a manager until 9am. So with that being said, the place is a mess and filthy
