My husband and I stayed at the Super 8 Motel in Auburn Indiana from July 19th to July 23rd, 2017. From the moment we arrived, until the end of our stay, we were treated as "second class citizens" . Both my husband and I are disabled, and were VERY disappointed that there was no rooms available on the first floor, and no elevator. During our 4 day stay, it appeared that the first floor was filled with family and friends of the employees. We use the word employee loosely, as it appeared that every time we had a need or request, the staff were outside of the motel office and were in front smoking. The children of these employees were many times left alone outside and were up until 1-2 am running around screaming and almost were run over by someone who drove up to the front entrance faster than they should have and nearly missed hitting them. Our room smelled, we had no hot water, and when asked if they had an iron we could use, just laughed at us and made no attempt to assist us in trying to find one ( we had been traveling from the state of Washington since July 13, 2017 and were in Wisconsin and Indiana to be with family and really didn't want to wear wrinkled clothing). The ice machine was broke for 3 of the days we stayed there. There were many other "complaints", but probably the worst and most revolting is the so called"Continental Breakfast" they serve...during the week, the bread, and milk for cereal, was always left open to the air(uncovered) and appeared to be "communal" with no gloves available to pick up a slice of bread, individual cartons of milk for cereal...the final straw was this morning when my husband was checking us out and very tactfully asked the clerk why those who prepared the food weren't wearing gloves or hairnets, and was told that "there are no gloves in the building" He came to me while I was waiting for him to check out, and relayed that information to me. I immediately became enraged as I am Certified Food Handler in the state of Oregon, so went back to this clerk and asked her name, and she said "Trina". I asked her if she was aware that it's against the law to not have gloves available for all staff, and customers etc, and just looked at me and laughed and said " I really don't care!". I am enraged! Does your company realize that they are putting a lot of people's lives on the line with rampant food borne illnesses/deaths that are increasing every day? We expect a speedy resolution to this situation, and if we feel that you are ignoring our request, have every right to relay our complaints to someone who has a lot of time/ ability to investigate this and impose fines if necessary.
hotel room cleanliness
I am very dissatisfied with the cleaniliness of our room at the Super 8 hotel in Drumheller. My travel agenthas told us to send a formal complainent and that she is not be reccommendeing this hotel to her future customers. Our kids found fake eyelashes on our bed side. With the amount of escorts and hookers that use hotels across Canada I am extremely upset and disturb that my children were given the oppurtunity to touch such unsanitary items. Our hotel room should have been clean properly. The front desk only gave us 10.00 off which is pitiful. My hope is that we will be compensated properly for this negative and unsatisfactory experience. We have always liked the Super 8 and this experience and how it was handled has not been up to our travel agent or my expectations.
I hope someone on your end will make this right.
credit card overcharge, unethical behavior and treatment to a retired vet
Super 8 in Dillon Montana, 550 N. Montana Ave, I was over charged and treated like crap by the Manager. Walked into my room the morning after I had checked in, the do not disturb sign was on the door.
Charged for 2 nights when I stayed 1.
The 15% Military discount was not even offered. When I tried to file a complaint it got worse.
Customer service does not handle complaints.

To Who It May Concern:
I stayed at a Super 8 Motel in Dillon Montana on Wednesday 19 Jul 17 and checked out the next morning Thursday 20 Jul 17 at 11am, I only stayed one day. I was charged $90.94 by Chaz Hyland and got my receipt and left. Tonight at 11 pm I went into my bank account on line to check all my receipts from my trip, that is when I noticed a charge that cleared my bank for $181.88 by Super 8 at 550 N. Montana St, Dillon, Montana 59725.
I called tonight at 11pm to the Super 8 in Dillon and Chaz Hyland was the person who answered the phone, I explained what happened and requested that the over charge of $90.94 be put back in my bank account, Chaz said, his system was showing that only $90.94 was charged and that the $181.88 was pending, I explained to him that it was not pending and had cleared my bank account on my Visa Debit card. He argued with me and was mean and biligerate with me and telling me I was only charged the 90.94, I told him I did not care what his system was showing, it was wrong because the money taken ($ 181.88) cleared my account.
We went back and forth and he told me I was being argumentative, so I said I want to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager and how may I help you. I told him he needs to give me that money back in my account and he kept trying to change the subject and asking me what else he could do, so I said I want your corporate contact, he mentioned that Super 8 was a member of Wyndham and I said good I am a member there and I have been a member of Wyndham / World Mark for almost 20 years and I was going to contact them and Super 8 Corporate and file a complaint against Super 8 for taking money that they shouldn’t have, he said we did nothing and went right back to what was showing in his system, I explained that your system was wrong and someone at Super 8 made that charge, I have the proof and intend to send it to the appropriate people who will fix this and that I will file a complaint about his behavior towards me.
This manager Chaz Hyland was very unprofessional towards me for the position he holds, he was rude and mean. In my opinion Chaz Hyland should not be a manager or customer service rep with this type of an attitude. I am a US retired soldier of 30 years and 12 years in the War zones of Iraq and Afghanistan and I intend to tell the world on Face Book, Tweeter, local news media and anyone else that will listen about this awesome experience with your Hotel and Manager about how this soldier was treated.
Your website boasts: SUPER 8 SALUTES MILITARY QUESTS WITH 15% OFF. We are PROUD to WELCOME current and RETIRED Military and their spouses with a 15% discount.
I can assure you that is not the case, at least with me it wasn’t. I was not offered anything for being retired Military, pretty sure you might want to stop advertising something you do not give.
I am sure you can use that type of publicity for your corporation. Yes, I am upset and I am not going to let this go until it is fixed, even if it is fixed the damage is done and I guarantee you that I will never stay at another Super 8, especially the one in Dillon, Montana, not ever and I will encourage anyone going through Dillion Montana to seek out other Hotel’s / Motel’s in that area.
I spent several hours trying to find an email address for customer service and there is not one, that is a joke, you can’t file a complaint by email, great way to treat your customers. The one at www.wyndham.com does not work, I told both this men that, still didn’t matter, imagine that. The number for customer service goes to Reservations so I got a Anthony on the line ad he was no help what so ever and when I asked him for his full name he would not give it to me and told me they were not allowed to give that out so I asked for his supervisor, Anthony put me on hold 3 different times and kept asking me for my complaint and I told him it was several pages and I just wanted an email address for customer service to send it to. He could not produce it so I asked for his supervisor, he again put me on hold. Finally, Bart came on and I explained to him what I told Anthony. Bart was of no help and said someone would call me from customer service, I told him, if the customer service is out there should be an email address available to file a complaint for customers so they can get all of their complaint read. I explained I had tried for over several hours now and got nowhere. I asked him his name and he said it was Bart and I asked him if he had a last name and he said it was Smith, then I asked what Anthony’s was and he said Lee.
I then told him Anthony lied to me, because he said they were not allowed to give that out.
I knew Anthony lied, he did not want to give it out because he was worried about getting into trouble.
I can tell you this, I am going to put this out there for the whole world to see how I was treated tonight
I do not have to accept being treated in this manner and I won’t. Should you wish to contact me my email is balddrgn2@msn.com and phone is [protected], but I assure you it won’t help this situation, for as I said, the damage has already been done.
state of hotel/motel room
My husband and I had a reservation for the Super 8 Motel, located at 1604 East Santa Fe Avewnue, Grants, NM 87020. We made the reservation via Priceline.com for Friday, July 21, 2017.
We picked this hotel for three reasons; it was close to the interstate on/off ramps, it had a pool and it had close proximity to a restaurant for lunch and breakfast the next day. Please note, once we got there we found at least 5 other motel/hotels that would have fit the bill.
Upon check-in I asked about the pool and I was advised it was closed for maintenance. Ok, a bit disappointing, but understood that this happens. We were also advised that the room we had reserved, a mobility accessible room, had two doors. One enters from an inside hallway and the other from the street. We were instructed that on our first entry, go in via the hallway and thereafter we could use either door.
First impression of the room. Clean, its an older hotel but it did appear clean and no sign of bedbugs or dirt except around the window sills. Things went rapidly downhill from thereâ¦â¦..
1. In the bathroom the toilet was not seated properly and when attempting to get on or off of it, it rocked and the tank hit the wall with a loud bang!
2. Again, bathroom, the sink has a one handle faucet and it was not installed correctly and the whole faucet shifted when trying to use it. It was easier to hold it in place with one hand, while turning it on with another
3. NO HOT WATER DURING OUR STAY! After running hot for 5 minutes, first in the sink then in the shower, the best I could do was tepid.
4. My husband wears a C-pap. When plugging it into an outlet it blew the fuse for the lights in our room.
5. Once the breaker was re-set, he had to unplug the light and clock to plug in his c-pap
6. Outlets are so loose, phone chargers will only stay plugged in if you don't touch the cord
7. The bedâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦.OMG. I know that hotel/motel beds become saggy from people sitting on the edge of the bed. This bed was so broken down along the edges that all night I felt like I was going to slide right off on the floor. This mattress is way beyond its time to be replaced
8. The room was a queen, non smoking, handicap accessible. Upon opening the door it immediately smelled of old cigarette smoke
9. Speaking of handicap accessible, on our side of the building there were two handicap accessible rooms, both had handicap parking outside the doors. And there were two distinct signs posted that only vehicles with handicap placards or plates could park or violators would be towed. We went to dinner, when we came back 2 hrs later both handicap spots were occupied by non handicapped compliant vehicles and it remained that way all night
10. Our electronic door cards would not work when trying to enter our room from the street. We got two cards, tried them both repeatedly and had to go inside and use the hallway entrance to get into our rooms.
I know this is a [censor] list, it wouldn't be this long if it were not one thing after another. When our fuse blew, right after arriving, the staff did make sure it was reset promptly and checked with us to make sure it was working. For $64 plus, I really expected better. Like HOT water on demand for a shower, or a bed that had a bit left to the edge of it, or even and toilet and a sink faucet that stayed in place. Unfortunatley, for this place, I would give it a minus 10 if I had the ability. Since I don't I will say, if you want clean and nothing else then by all means reserve this motel. I wish we had slept in our car in the Wal-Mart lot next door and saved ourselves the aggrevation of a very sub par, not well maintained motel.
handicap room
My family just checked in at Crystal Lake, IL. We made a reservation several months ago for a handicap assesible room and called two days ago just to verify that we would be getting an assesible room. We have a confirmation number and the front desk person even admitted that it said it was for an assesible room but they didn't have any available. They put us in a regular room. I cannot even get my wheelchair into the bathroom because the doorway is too small. Very frustrating!
customer service from the main manager rachel patel
This picture that I am sending is to be added to the file associated with my telephone number [protected] Debra Lunsford this also shows from booking.com that from the very beginning the reservation was made under Wade Lunsford even in their survey that they sent me today about Super 8 also says Wade Lunsford nowhere does it say anything about his middle name I feel mrs. Patel has falsely caused myself and my family extreme distress and is not a asset to your company I would hope that action be taken in this matter thank you
motel
We checked into the super 8 in ava, missouri yesterday, thursday, july 20, 2017. Confirmation number:[protected]. There was absolutely not one vehicle in the parking lot when we arrived. We requested a bottom floor room and was told there were none available. We were told we could stay in the pet room, but it probably smelt like pets. We chose to go to the top floor room. The motel was filthy. It looked like the carpet in the stairways and hallways hadn't been cleaned in a couple of years. There was stuff all over the stairways, as if it is never vacuumed. We had stayed at the same motel a couple of years ago. When we went to our room we found there was no small refrigerator or microwave as previously. Went down to the front desk and was informed you only get those if you take the deluxe room. The clerk at the front desk was very snippy & acted like she didn't give a rats [censor] if we were happy or not! We checked out & will never stay at a super 8 again! Nor would I recommend super 8 to anyone! Very disappointed!
We were also told we could only have one key to get into our room. Some him/hall excuse they were having trouble with the locks or something. Also the tv was old and graining picture! This motel needs a update!
hotel
We booked a 4 person room & when we arrived our room only had enough towels for 2 people. The cleaning crew was in the hall so we thought we would ask for 2 more so that we all would have a clean towel. Well when we asked, the man dead up said no "share" & a lady came out of a room screaming at us like we asked for a bed or something! We just stood there in disbelief, thinking is this really happeneing! The room was filthy, soap [censor] in the tub, poop in the toilet, no fitted sheet on bed just top sheet, couldnt plug microwave in without putting in on the very dirty floor, coffee maker had not been cleaned in months, the whole room was just very outdated & dirty! They need to be shut down!
super 8 lewisburg, wv, usa
Hello, thank you for your time. I checked into the Lewisburg, WV Super 8 7/17/17, for a stay of 4 nights. Upon arrival to the room, #217, I found the following: sink won't drain, toilet runs intermittently, toilet not flushing, had to turn on the water from the valve (leaks if turned on too strong) vent van makes a loud rattling sound when turned on, knob on tub falls off if not handled very gingerly. No shampoo left for the guest. I was ok with all of this. BUT--upon returning to the room on the evening of 7/18, I found the room had not been serviced. Probably because someone placed a "do not disturb" sign on the outside of the door, as a practical joke. I told Thurmond, the front desk attendant on duty, and asked for a set of towels. He gave me fresh towels, but uttered no remorse for my situation or lack of service. I asked him politely to please leave a note, for housekeeping, to please service the room EVEN IF there was a "do not disturb sign" on the door. He obviously did NOT leave a note for housekeeping, because when I returned on the evening of 7/19, AGAIN the room had not been serviced. I told Thurmond it had happened again, and may I please have more towels, coffee, and cups. He handed me the towels, then handed me the coffee, and then said his last words to me "cups are over there."
Staff can not control practical jokers. However I asked Thurmond nicely to please leave a note for housekeeping to service the room even if there was a sign on the door. (I also asked him to tell housekeeping to put drano in the sink) I'm certain he did not bother to leave a note for housekeeping. Thurmond comes to work every evening wearing a plain white t-shirt, and shows no personality with customers. At least he shows no personality with me. He obviously could care less about my stay, he never apologized, nor showed any inkling of concern for my lack of service. Only "cups are over there." Had Thurmond been concerned for my stay, he would have left a note for housekeeping, and my room would have been serviced on the 2nd day.
I tried to complain to the morning front desk attendant on Tuesday 7/18, about the sink not draining, but no one was in sight, and since I was late for work and didn't have time to call on the desk phone, kept on going. This is not a busy hotel, at least not at the time I'm staying here. I am a diamond rewards member, and have been coming here for years. I don't understand why I'm getting such lousy treatment on this particular stay. Usually everything is fine. Perhaps I need to start staying elsewhere in the future when I'm working in Lewisburg, if this is the new trend.
Since my company pays for my stay, I DO NOT WANT A FREE STAY for this trip. If I am to be compensated, I would greatly appreciate extra points on my account, Wyndham rewards #103366602D. Or a free night's stay anywhere in the Wyndham system would be acceptable. Most importantly, I would like the above issues addressed, as I do not want other guests to be faced with the same annoyances I have dealt with.
Thank you most sincerely for your kind attention to this motel's lack of concern for guests' comfort and satisfaction.
Sincerely,
david h. chittum, jr.
Super 8 KCI bedroom
06/22/17 we stayed at Super 8 KCI for park & fly (reversation ID: 1536399) ... as soon as we entered room we noticed it smelled musty... we realized the carpet was wet... we were tired & had to get up early to fly... we even slept between the blanket & spread because the sheets felt damp... the next morning are clothes were even all damp from the humidity in the room... after a lack-luster breakfast, we told the desk clerk about the problem at check out... he made a note & advised he would look into it... we never heard anything... 07/01/17 we filed a complaint... by 07/11/17 we had heard nothing & called to follow up... we were advised of a $25 credit, & we should get a call from the manager... it is 07/18/17 & we have not heard anything from the manager, nor from corporate... We will never stay in another Super 8 ever again!
filthy hotel rooms
We rented 2 rooms. The first one was completely filthy. The sink did not drain. There was a used condom on the tv. There was garbage in the shower and visible soap [censor]. There was garbage on the floor by the beds. The 2nd one had a sink full of hair. Garbage in the refrigerator. Curtains didn't close. People across the hall were allowed to smoke marajuana in their room.
The people at the front desk were so rude when we complained. The head of housekeeping said she inspected the rooms. Must have had her eyes closed.
super 8 20 monocacy blvd frederick, md
I and my guest had booked a king bedroom for the weekend of Friday July 14th, and to check out on Sunday July 16th. When I arrived to the hotel I was greeted by a somewhat friendly front desk assistant named "Chyna". I was told that my reservation for the weekend would require my credit card and my ID in order to check in. When I proceeded to give the attendant my cards, she typed in the information, than handed my cards back and got my room key ready. As I went to grab the card from the attendant, she than spoke aloud and read my room number in not a discrete manner whatsoever. As she read the number aloud in the lobby, who was filled with other guests who were also checking in, I than looked at her and asked for a different room. She than proceeded to laugh at me with a smirk and asked "Are you serious?" I than told the attendant that I as a woman who was going to be staying in the Super 8 for a weekend would not like other strangers knowing where my guest and I would be staying. I as a previous worker at the Marriot was told that it is a risk of security telling the number aloud in any situation, whether other guests were present or not. You are told that's its very important that other guests do not know where another guest will be residing during their stay. I was very disappointed when the female attendant told me "that's my job ma'am" with no sincere tone in her voice. I will never trust a super 8 if that's how these front desk attendants are trained. I than spoke to a manager telling him why I requested a different room, with his understanding of my situation he than offered a different room with more of a kind gesture, rather than denying myself and my guest a safer location. This was a security problem, and for myself as a guest to not have my safety in the hotel be first priority it was very disappointing and upsetting. The front desk attendant argued with me, not allowing me to feel any remorse or understanding that I wanted to be safe around other strangers in a hotel. I don't know why she felt its her job to put other guests safety at risk.
refusing to use visa/debit card at check in.
I arrived at the Super 8 Lodge in Jackson, Wy to check in. I reserved the room using the same Visa/Debit card that I presented at check-in. I was informed by the desk clerk that they do not except Debit cards. I was told I had to use another credit card or cash. Being a responsible individual I do not use other credit cards. I paid with cash, but I'm very unhappy with this kind of treatment. I have stayed at 2 other Super 8 properties on this vacation with no problems. I will have to rethink staying at one of your properties in the future.
the manager at the front desk
I was trying to show him a picture of a Fugitivethat is staying in his hotel this person was arrested for caring a quarter ounce of crystal methamphetamine and he didn't even look at the picture I was showing him and said that she was not there I suspect but don't know for sure if this girl is selling drugs out of your hotels but she does have a post up for a prostitution and if she is giving out your address of your hotel and your manager is not observing it at all that is impossible County needs to take a look into this and possibly close down the establishment
room door without a lock or door knob
I am currently staying in Kremmling colorado at the super 8. The first night here, 7/12/17, the room was filthy-carpet not vaccumed, ice bin filled with pine needles and hair, toilet seat dirty, and smoke alarm missing from obvious place it was supposed to be. I stayed another night 7/13/17 since there where no other rooms in town and I spoke with the...

we went on line and checked out this hotel, it looked decent so i held 3 rooms, upon our arrival, it was nothing like the pictures posted to the web site, it was dirty, screens were ripped out, black stuff on the backs of the curtains and very dirty, so i went in to explain this is not what is on the web and I'm cancelling the rooms, cause i was mis informed, the manager even refused to come out and have a look at what i was talking about, saying i know the condition, i did video the poor customer service but whats worse is i had cancellation fees of all 3 rooms charged on my card.
super 8 in wisconsin dells, wisconsin
My husband and I stayed at the Super 8 in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin on June 28 and June 29, 2017. I wanted to let you know that this stay was awful and I was very disappointed. Upon our arrival to check in, the elevator was out and could not take the luggage cart down the stairs. We were forced to hand walk our luggage to the room and the halls were still filled with people still cleaning rooms at 3:30 in the afternoon. I was under the impression there would be a refrigerator in the room--there was not, the room was very small. We were told the elevator would be fixed in 30 minutes, it was still out on June 30 when we left. I was told they would provide a refrigerator. That never happened. 2nd day, no yogurt at breakfast--no explanation nor apology. I gave Super 8 a third try, but three strikes and out, no more. Your corporate hospitality model has serious issues and problems. Even though the rate was economical, that does not justify such a sloppy place. The motel is old and run down, very dirty and just no effort to make any improvements. Just wanted you to know. Linda Lester, [protected]@att.net in case you care to reply, but knowing Super 8, most likely will never hear from you again.
liverpool/clay/syracuse area
I wasn't pleased due to the fact the bathtub had leftover pubic hairs along with a ring around the tub. The linens on both bed were dirty 1 bed had specks of blood I had to call the front desk for new sheets. I have stayed at super 8 in the passed and I didn't have any complaints till now very dissatisfied with everything. I am not a happy camper! Then they had the nerve to change me for early check in if I knew how the room was I would've never checked in! Pics included
treatment
I booked a 2 night stay at your Super 8 in Knoxville Tennesse on Merchant Drive. The room was nasty there was bugs on the floor. I didn't bother reporting any of this because we were only there for my daughter's boyfriend's swearing in ceremony for the military. But my daughter is 16 and her boyfriend never stayed with us in our room he was booked at another hotel downtown. We were going to get something that we left in the room and our keys were turned off before we even got to the room then the lady said that I had 5 people in my room. But even with her boyfriend going to the room for a few minutes was only 4 people. Then I was refused my refund when I said I would not be treated this way but I left anyway. I would like for some thing to be done about this. This lady was rude to me and I was charged $5.00 extra for my 16 year old daughter to stay with us. Why when your own policy says 17 years old and under stay for free. I want something done about this rude person and the way I was treated. I will never be recommending this location to anyone. If you Read your own reviews they are not good at all.
hotel in general
This is the second time that I have stayed at the Super 8 in Ketchikan, AK. Both stays were for business and the credit card was sent by my company prior to the stay and the front desk clerk refused to charge the company for the stay and to date I can't a reason why.
The first trip May 23, 2017, the front desk clerk was incredibly rude and was not helpful with questions at all. The second trip July 11, 2017, the front desk clerk was nice enough but still didn't help with any questions.
The room for both visits was sub-par at best. It was a non-smoking room but there were cigarette burns in the carpet, the second trip room was crazy hot and no way to control the heat. The desk brought a window fan up but the thing was so loud that I just lived with it. There were black things on the linens both times. And the elevator is still broke from May to July. I hurt my ankle on a hike two days prior and could not get a same floor room.
I doubt nothing will be done and if I have to return to this place again, I will book my own arrangements and get reimbursed. This place is horrible and I have pretty low standards for rooms. I am a backpacker and spend weekends in dry cabins and I would much rather stay in a dry cabin than this property. There are other great Super 8 properties out there and this is not one of them. I will be contacting OSHA and the ADA for the elevator because that is a violation for sure. Clean up your property so that when the company is paying $170.00 during tourist season, that they get something for their money.
