I am late with my loan payment and understand people have to do their jobs and could care less about your personal problems. I get that but when a store manager is calling your job and hanging up and you dial *69 its their cell number I suppose and you have already spoken with someone in the office and told them you would make a payment on a certain day and...

My mother took out a title loan january 2008, I first learned of this loan after my mother had become ill, and was hospitalized for over a month. At which time a representative from title max contacted me and stated that she had been trying to reach my mother and was unsuccessful. After she had explained what the business was that she was calling about, I...

Titlemax / TMX Finance lein removal

Once the loan is paid in full the title is released to you but you have to pay for a new title to show no lien. They pay for a lein to be placed but not removed. 120% interest rate & $10 a day interest.. Unbelievable!
I pray that this people have a conscience and can not sleep at night but I doubt it!

FYI..swear you should not complain unless you know the facts.. Okay for your information ..Once the load is paid for a titlemax empl. will sign off on the title and give you a release of lien showing that the vechicle is returned to you under your name. You do not need to go to the dmv for no reason. Yes there is a title fee to replace the lien under titlemax and this is with every title loan company. Now, once you have received your title back signed off it is a clear title ..yes those liens are on there but it is clear with it signed off.
Now if you are embrassed or just picky and do not want those liens to show then yes ofcourse you would have to pay yourself to get the liens removed. But, there is no reason too...thats just a person being picky.!

Titlemax / TMX Finance horrible experience

Have anyone ever filed bankruptcy and included titlemax? Well here is my story I cannot proved it but I suspect titlemax is involved in this mysterious fire at my house around 2:00 in the morning. They had been coming to my house for over a week to collect or surrender my vehicles so on a monday, april 13th the guy came to my house looking for me and i was not at home, so he told my sister inlaw and brother that they were lying about me not being at home so he said that if he could not see me this way he will find another way to see me.

So before he left my brother gave him my case number proving to him that I filed chapter 13 and that they would be hearing something soon about my case. Tuesday I guess they verified the case number to be true becasue they did not call my house at all that day or wednesday, so late wednesday night my truck mysteriously ignite in flames and seconds later my car ignites in flames and my house is severely damage from the fire from the vehicles that i had parked behind my house. The mayor of dozier found some kind of chemical poured all over my other vehicle parked underneath my car port and then ruled that the vehicles was deliberately set a fire.

I have a very sickly mother in my house and have 4 children and three more family members living in my house and we almost lost our lives over 4000.00 dollars. When I prove my allegations, I hope to put titlemax out of business for good because they have no moral value for a human life because of a dollar. That saying is true about money is the root of all evil and titlemax will get theirs one day. Are there anyone out there have experience an life or death situation when it comes to titlemax. You stupid A cowards you are not the mafia so stop the madness! Or are you?

Same here. My son been in and out of the hospital due to seizures and he has autism and when I told them that I will pay, they were so demanding and told me they don’t care and that they want their money. I’m only a day late and already had spoken to them days before my date to pay. So unprofessional and calling my phone from 9am all the way to almost 7pm which is when they are closing. I hate that I took out a loan from them but I’m trying my best to pay on time and what I can but when they showing up at my house and harassing me in the phone is crazy.

I was considering getting a title loan from title max, as a matter of fact, I went into a local store, and I was this close to doing it, but I had a change of heart as it just did not seem honest to me. I have a late model Suv and I had a hunch they would try to repo it for any reason. These kinda a operations take disadvantage of the less fortunate.
There rates is outrageous and there are fees for just about everything.
It is much better in my estimation, to try and sell your vehicle on your own, get the cash you need, buy a cheaper vehicle, titlemax and the rest of these folks are crooks, and they should be avoided at all cost, no matter how desperate you might be.

Titlemax / TMX Finance outrageous interest-no truth in lending disclosure

i took out a 1050.00 title loan with title max- against my toyota 4 runner-custom--blue booked at 4500.00-- after paying 800 on loan i realized that my principal had not started to drop-indeed wouldnt even start untill 2 more payments of nearly 200 each- i was concerned that i was paying 1400.00 and still no prinicpal came down- indeed i still owed almost 2 thousand$$ on 1000.00 loan! i requested to look at my file and was told that a new fedral law prevented that- at that instant i called my friend, an attorney and alsothe owner of highland title- he heard then refuse me the file and had me tell them they were breaking the law-- he then told me to request my truth in lending disclosure-- both the sales clerk and store manager did not know what this was- my friend told me to tell them they were breaking the law- he then had me explain that all lenders needed this disclosure in arp format siting the specifics of the loan-- i told him my receipts show a 121.56% annual percentage rate-- he told me to tell them they are breaking the law-- finally the office manage had the clerk make copies- however- as the pages printed she went over each page with the clerk and the manager told the clerk to change 3 of the pages- my lawyer friend still on phone the whole time---i told him---the manager gave me the forms and i left- i faxed them to my friend who contacted titlemax attorney--to try to figure why i was paying the title loan back times 3-- during this time i kept in contact with the office manager- 2 times per month-- all logged on my phone-- i wanted to make a payment while the lawyers disscussed the issues- she rufused payment--3 months in a row- i explictly explained that i did not want to loose the truck-- i would make payments while it was being solved as i still owed on my loan- just simply was not paying back 3-6 thousand on a 1thousand dollar loan-- she refused payment all three months! then a tow truck keeps coming to take the truck-- they have not-- but i am angry-- their fees are worse than a loan sharks!

Your wrong pawn shop. I am in the title business and what it is called is a title pawn. they are pawning the title to the vehicle not the vehicle itself. it is simple collateral on the loan to be collected if the pawn is not paid.

I am sorry but borrowing on a car title is not a pawn but a loan. A pawn can only be done on a physical item. A title loan works like a pawn but is not a pawn. In a title loan you have use of the car/truck. A pawn on a car/truck would be where the car/truck is held at the pawn shop.

There is nothing illegal about 121.56%apr on a title pawn, actually no where near the state max of TN. The state max of tn is 22% every 30 days which is 267.66 per tn state law. (this is what everybody else charges). Also blue book does not matter at all as if they repo it must be sold to wholesaler per state law and that is no where near blue book. Also this is not a loan but a title PAWN. So that means every 30 days you are re pawning the item with new interest ant what ever amount of principle is left. If you pay it off in 30 days you only have 30 days interest. If you wait 22 months to pay it off then you have 22 months of interest and yes it can be 3 times the amount you borrowed. Also you were given a copy of contract when you signed it. If they have not repo it yet you are lucky if 3 months months behind and they will be soon. If you dont like the terms of the loan pay it off and go to another tile pawn place and pay 22% a month instead of 9.99% like you are paying now.

Titlemax / TMX Finance rip off

I am submitting a copy of the report that has just been filed with the Better Business Bureau in Macon GA to your website for everyone's review. This concerns the events of tonight and how Title Max really stole our Yukon tonight.

Complaint against Title Max:

I want to thank you for allowing me the opportunity to file my complaint concerning the events of this evening, (8 Oct 2008). In late Jan / early Feb of this year my fiancé and I needed to take out a loan on our 1999 GMC Yukon SLT. Title Max agreed to lend us the money and our payments are up to date. We have the September receipt to support our claim. Late last week we found ourselves in need of money due to some unexpected bills.

I called up Title Max and spoke with Author and he said that if we brought the Yukon to the office then there would not be any problem in refinancing the loan to receive an additional two thousand dollars. I immediately informed my fiancé, (Mr. Robert Kennerly) of this and we immediately planned for his trip home. Robert is an avionics technician working out of state as a contractor. Robert and I went to Title Max at 6:00 PM on 8 Oct. 2008. While Robert went to go to the hardware store to make a copy of the key for Title Max I started filling out the paperwork to refinance the loan.

Upon his return we were informed that we needed to provide Roberts paystubs in order to complete the loan application. While we were leaving the office to get the paystubs, two men parked their truck behind ours, thus blocking us in. We asked them to move their truck so that we could leave to get the paystub information. That is when one of the men took the truck key from Author and jumped into our trucks driver seat and tried to drive off. Robert tossed the man out of the truck while another man tried to punch at him.

While this was happening Author locked the office doors and turned out the lights. I screamed out Roberts name and he stopped the fight. That is when the first man got back into the truck and started to drive off again. Robert chased after the truck and jumped into the back passenger seat only to be informed by the driver that Title Max has just repossessed your truck and that he was under contract to drive it away.

During the time that I was in the Title Max Office Author never mentioned that there was any type of problem with my loan, nor was I ever informed of their intention to repossess our vehicle. In fact Author's demeanor was that of complete cooperation with the understanding that once we provided the paystub information that our loan was going to approved. In fact he assured me on 4 Oct that if we drove the Yukon to his office that we were guaranteed no less than an additional two thousand dollars.

While the truth of matter is that it appears that he was only filled with lies and deceitful intentions. Robert and I could fully understand and accept tonight's events if we were behind on our payments but that was not case and I have my last payment receipt to prove it. The bottom line is that they stole our Yukon without cause.

Here is my thing, made ever payment on time in advance, God forbid I wanted to get a little food in the house and yes they titlemax is the one bill I could not pay, I went into the office talked to them they were very nice but did mention we had until the 30th of Oct to pay, well right now we don't have it, it is the 28th of Oct, we are waiting for them to come I'm not making excuses not to pay, We only collect disability on the 3rd Wed of the month, and we are working with a loan company to get the total we owe on the TM loan, for now we have our truck in a 60 x 80 locked dog pen, plus we live 475 feet from the road, we do have a posted gate at the end of our driveway which is secured but not locked. We fully intend to pay them very soon. And have given us a little more time as well since in TN they can't go through a closed gate, nor can they go on the property since it is posted and the truck in in a secure fence.

Title Max are nothing but criminals 'they steal and then want more money. I say lets take the problems they bring on us out on them in our own way. Who cares if the bad guys are messed up in the corruption they caused. they bring it on themselves whatever punishment the public gives them.

ok first off the common pattern with all of you is that you dont make your payments for whatever reason. you signed a contract and agreed to pay back the money. everything is outlined in the paperwork that you signed. they are not obligated to work with you. if you can not afford to pay a loan back than dont get one. I have had a loan out with them for over 4 years because i chose to keep renewing and borrowing against a car that i dont use. I have never once had a problem with them. they have even give me mulitple i mean mulitole 10 day extensions. I love the payments as they are much lower than all the other companies out there. it just seems like you all want cry over your own faults. Now to the guy who was not late i do feel for ya. that is unfair and i would fight for the vehicle plus fees associtaed with not having the vehicle ie having to rent a car pay for bus miss work mental anguish and so on. but people if you dont make a payment dont nag and sue and write bad reviews when they take your car bevause it was your own fault they are not your mothers they are a buisness to make money. a mortage company is not gonna sit there and hold your hand when you dont pay it for month on end no they will reposses your damn house, grow up people and take responsibilty.

Title max charged $6, 000 for a $2, 700. The interest rate was 129% annually. That is a ridiculous rate. No one inside the Title Max knew when the loan was suppose to be paid in full.

titlemax has to be able to show the chain if custody in regards to the sale if a car, the 3 bids that was offered in the auction and the unit has to sale for a fair market price just like any auction if the price offered is to low then no sale. second, at no time is a repo man allowed to touch another person to repo a car or truck unless he is defending himself from harm. this is called a hostel repossession and is against the law. title max legally has the right as listed in your contract to take your car with out warning at one day late. and they can demand you pay it off b4 u get it back. legal ? yes. good business no. i do not agree that the title loan biz should be shut down but there needs to be better laws to protect the people that use there services.
if you have paperwork that you are no behind at all file a police report and take them to court for wrongful repossession. if you get attacked by a repo man file a police report for hostile repossession. he cant even have a weapon in plain sight when he is repossessing a car. please people look up the laws to stop these pushy title pawn people and there unlicensed and under insured un trained repomen .
this is not the tv shows that are fun to watch this is real life and it needs to be treated with a bit more respect that it is getting at the moment.
