I took out a title loan with titlemax and I was told I would be paying an interest rate of 204.03% apr I don't feel that
I did not fully understand what 204.03% APR meant and I agreed to the terms but after I got my second payment statement I couldn't believe the total amount of interest I would end up paying on a $1200 loan since all I can make is the minimum payment I will be buying my truck back for over $6000 and it is a 2002 ford ranger. I am 65 and I can't get around without it as I have nobody but me in this world to depend on. I feel I was sold a loan that I unfortunately can't afford to pay with only my social security retirement as my only income and with poor credit I am unable to borrow a personal loan to pay it off it sucks being poor but I really think the loan could be considered predatory in nature
Desired outcome: I would like them to let me pay at a rate of 30% apr and get my payments under $150 per month
Loan
I recently pawn a work truck with Title. The amount of the loan was under $1000. I was behind for 30 days and the phone I had sign under stopped working. One morning I got up and the truck was taken by titlemax. Three hours later I went into the store a made the payment. I was concerned as my sons used this vehicle for work. They left thier information such as cash in the amount of $650. A leather coat belongings to my mother social security cards drivers license bank card and debit card including cash app. Apparently they had just came in from work and left thier stuff in the vehicle. I explained this to the people who took the money for the loan which was $500. When the vehicle was finally delivered to me nothing was there they took the registration and the tags also. I have contacted titlemax about this and as of today nothing has been done to resolve this issue.
Desired outcome: Titlemax need to address this issue as the loan was for under $1000 i paid $750 so far but still owes $1000
Title loan never received
TitleMax bonded me to an agreement but never gave me the loan, they stated they sent my loan to a Universal Silver card fraudulently and they said in a document to the CFPB that the card account ends in 3378 yet Universal Silver Card arrived a couple of weeks ago and before I threw it away I took a picture of the card which shows an account ending in 4415 title max has errors yet they wont correct them nor send back my title I never received this loan because that isnt my account... Since this hasn't worked TitleMax will be paying for me an attorney
Desired outcome: send back my title and compensation for being falsely accussed
Absolute predatory behavior
unforetunatly due to the lie known as "covid" and my job being annialated by it, i needed a few shekles to survive and feed family! I stupidly went to this GANG of "PREDATORS" and took out a "loan"! worst decision of my life! slowly, i start to build back up with the work and NOT take government handouts, but was already deep in this thuggish interest of it, approx. 6,7 weeks ago BAM! in hospital, doctors and absolute stripped of life, to do anything! even hold a smile! couldnt even talk, let alone hold a conversation with any other "human being! so i turn over permission for titlemax's "leg breaker" to discuss and make arrangements! "he" ends up chewing my wife out, CUSSING WORDS! and hangs up on her! leaving her in tears for two days! really? really?
3 months into this, the "manager" calls 3, or 4 times saying "Your title has come back in and you need to come and get it"! I told her "No mam, I have not paid it all back yet AND I WILL...I don't want you to lose your job"! I AM HONEST MAN! and she was thankful! I COULD HAVE GOTTEN YOU THUGS! BUT I TRY TO BE A GOOD PERSON! Since this "man" hung up on her, we have been HOUNDED daily, 3, 4 times a day, every single day since! even before this issue, they will call you a day or 2 before it is even due!
PLEASE TO ANY "POORER" PEOPLE" READING THIS... PLEASE THINK TWICE ABOUT USING THIS THUGGISH, LOW-LIFE, BULLY OF A COMPANY!
Desired outcome: DESIRED OUTCOME?
Vehicle towed after receiving payment
Hi, my name is [edited] and I am so pissed. I was making payment for my car title loan with Silver Recovery. I made a total of 2 payments towards my balance of $2,180, one was made in March for $91.12, and the other in April for $1,000. A week after I made the last payment I received a letter from TMX FINANCE that their system was breached, imagine that. Anyways, right before my next payment Title Max from the Beaumont Texas office towed away my car and are asking for a full payment of $2,180. I tried to explain to the manager what was going on with my payments to the collection agency, he agreed that he sent my account off to an agency but not the one I mentioned and told me the only way I would get my vehicle back is making the full payment of $2,180. Now I don't know what is going on or why he would say so rudely that I owe that much when I have been paying on the balance. Maybe you can help me by contacting the collection agency and verify I was in good standings and I get my vehicle back. TMX FINANCE mentioned that the FBI has been notified about the breach, and I will notify them on how I am being taken advantage of by taking my money and then towing my car. I have missed 3 days of work because of this. And since the Beaumont office is so busy and put on like this isn't important and dont have the time to help me I figured I would reach out to someone else. I will be filing a complaint with the FTC about this because Titlemax has stolen my money and my car. I have my bank statement of both my payments and I want my freaking car returned to me. This is ridiculous and wrong in so many ways. And the wrecker that took my car dragged the back bumper because I came outside to stop him the car was not even latched on proper.
Please reply back ASAP about this matter.
[edited]
Desired outcome: I would like an apology from the Beaumont office for taking my car, and my car returned to me.
My car was taken today / Sandra Covell
I took out a 5,000 loan 5 years ago. I paid 574.00 per month for 3 years. They claimed I owed 7,000. Well, I believe they took my car today. My phone, cash, retirement check, drivers licensce, insurance info and cancer cards were in it. My witness (I was in the store) said they drug it up the road, black marks all over the parking lot. My email address is [protected]@aol.com.
Desired outcome: i paid way over what the car was worth. i need transportation to chemo.I dont have a phone now. I filed a police report. I need my car back and the possessions in it
2008 ford edge
On November 26, 2022, I took out a loan at the Kingsland, GA office against my 2008 Ford Edge in order to help a friend and my granddaughter. As long as I was able to tutor, I had the income to make the payments. Recently I lost 2 full months of tutoring due to injuries from a fall. The total loss of income was upwards of $1600. This was supplemental income I was depending on to pay bills. Yesterday, when I tried to call to explain that I was no longer going to be able to make the payments, the manager was rude and would not let me explain my situation. She insisted that I drop off the Edge, myself. 1) I am still physically unable to drive, 2) the battery is dead, 3) the insurance and tag have both expired, and 4) I am not going to ask my friends to risk driving an uninsured vehicle with an expired tag. Because of the ridiculously high interest, I am upside down between the value of my Edge and the amount owing. I was advised by a friend to let it go. My advice is to stay as far away from this company as you can and avoid them like the plague.
Desired outcome: I would like for Title Max to write off the loan, or at least the majority of the interest. If that is not possible, they need to pick up the vehicle, themselves. I also would like an apology for the rude behavior over the phone.
Title max false advertising
I have a title loan with title max on Washington road in Augusta Georgia for 4 years I borrowed $2500 I have Paid over $19000 on a $2500 loan your commercial says get your title back with titlemax when will I ever get my title back ?
I feel this is such false advertising and I'm going to see a lawyer about this
This company isn't here to help people it's here to get as much money and your car so ya'll can hurt the customer.
Desired outcome: I want my title back That I've paid 8 times the amount of money that you loaned me. This is a never ending nightmare
Predatory lender
They make you pay all interest up front.
With a 225% rate.
Then they make you refinance the Principle and add More interest.
They put 2 liens your title.. one for the first loan. Interest Only. Then another when they make you Refinance for the Principle payments.
This is a predatory loan business that harps on people who are not familiar with these terms, or don't understand it. They say things differently that what the contract says. They need to be shut down and penalize for this..
Stay away from Title Max or any Title loan company. Especially in Temple, TX
Desired outcome: They pay back the money they steal from innocent people having hard times.
Loan
My name is Linda Blankenship. I took out a flex loan with Titlemax last August. When I first started paying on the loan I could make payments through the app. Well Titlemax changed the app and now I can't get it to take my payment. I have been trying since 9 a.m. on October 10, 2022 to pay my payment because I lost my phone and can't call to make the payment. The new app keeps saying I have a duplicate card on file but when I go to remove the card it isn't in the payment method file. I am trying my best to make my payment but how can I make a payment when I can't even access the file to make the payment. If titlemax is going to expect the payment on time then they need to fix the app so I can make my payment through the app because I work third shift so I sleep most of the day when I get off.
Desired outcome: TitleMax fixing the app that they changed so that I can make my payment through the app.
Repossession of vehicle
Yes I would like to finally complain to me two people of your staff on every possession of my 2008 Silverado truck and incident happens your employee hit me in the head pulled my hair as well as told me to shut the [censored] up multiple times. I am making a police report on an assault charge from one of your repossession employees. I also have some very inappropriate unbusiness like messages from those repo employees.
Rip off on the disabled
I took out a title to pay my rent and bills. Because I only get 800.00 on my ssi. The lady (it's only one whose always working that office) at the office on Nellis and Owens in Las Vegas Nevada. She asked me to show proof of my disability (I did) she asked me how much all by bills were. I told her. She approved me. Now I'm getting threats saying my payments are 400.00. I'm like how? I don't have that after my bills. She knows that. I called her. And she told me. Oh well you have to pay or we'll taking your car. She was very disrespectful, she sounded like a loan shark. Now remind you. I have a bad heart. I can't stand or walk a distance. That's why I drive. Plead do something. My next step is calling Fox5 new
Desired outcome: Reduce my payment
Illegal repossession
My 2006 ford f150 was repo with out any notice being mailed to me and I just spoke to one of the ladies today that she was gna give me a chance to make the payment tomorrow. I had no idea it was gna b repo don’t no what company took my truck cu all I want is my belongings.
Desired outcome: Get all of my belongings
Flex Line of Credit
I paid $500 off my card on May 21st. I owed another 82.00. I paid some of that off my card as well. I dropped off $76.20 to the local office. That was on Monday May 23rd. It's Wednesday May 25th and that payment is yet to reflect on my account. I put the money in the drop off window. Expecting it to reflect the next day. It's still yet to reflect anything. I don't want to use my card to pay the remaining amount when I have already dropped it off. It took them no time at all to show the $500 that I paid. So why has it taken them this long to post $76.20. I know you should never drop off cash at a overnight deposit but sometimes that's the only option you have. I work hard for my money and don't expect a place of business to do this type of thing.
Desired outcome: I just want my money to reflect on my account like it should.
The employees are dressed in appropriate
The woman at the title max location is dressed in appropriate the is showing all her chest to the customers.
TitleMax
TitleMax in seems Alabama I know I’m 29 days passed I told the woman I can do have this week and rest next week but no they don’t wanna work with me
Desired outcome: Rude
Car repoed
I understand that I am responsible for paying on my account so let me start with that. I own that problem, but this is on you.
My car got repossessed on April 5th around Midnight. I woke up to lights from the truck like rescue was at my house. I went outside and asked them where I could get my belongings because my son had my keys in his car that fell out of my purse. All the guy kept saying was Dalton every time I asked. I called TM the next day at the Recovery Dept. and the lady told me I had 10 days to get my car back if I wanted it and she told me to call my local TM company to see who picked up the car. I called the Dalton office because I couldn't get anyone on the phone at the Chatsworth office that I took the money out with. She told me who to contact. In that whole conversation with TM and me finally talking to the tow company was I told that my car was going to be sent to Acworth GA for auction because they don't house the vehicles there. I didn't find that out until today which is my 9th day. I contacted the recovery dept. again and was told to contact my local office again so I got in touch with my local office finally and she was not nice at all in telling me it was in Acworth and couldn't tell me anything about any personal items I had left in the car. Now I can't get anything back and I can't get in touch with the towing company in hopes they may have cleaned my car out for me. (which I doubt because they drug my car down my paved driveway and it messed my driveway up and I contacted the tow company and owner was supposed to call me back but hasn't regarding that and I have pictures because we have a house up for sale).
I feel like it is a rip off in the first place after I took the loan out, but it is nice to have when you need it. They are there when you need them for loaning money, but not there for you when you are at the end of your rope trying to savage what sanity you have left . I am dealing with my 50 year old husband having Pancreatic and Liver Cancers and now not being told anything about all that I have said above. I hope and pray that nothing like this happens to anyone else. TM/Towing what if this was you or your family member think about that when you are giving out the information next time. All I wanted was someone to offer up the right answers at the beginning of this because it is your job.
I borrowed money oct 2021. A 36 mth note. I made 3 300 buck payments. Ididnt pay jan 2022. On feb 18 2022 the payoff was 2224 bucks. I paid 2000 cash with 224 remaining its been 2 mths my balance now is 662 bucks. Today is may 17 2022 i just tried to pay 330 bucks they wouldnt accept it. The girl states interest is 2.34 a day. And that im 2 mths behind. Technically i was like 30 mths out in front so how am i 2 mths behind? Go figure that! Unethical low brow business by title loan sharks! Do not use these people!

It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with a situation like this, especially after making the necessary payment. You should contact both TitleMax and the tow company to escalate the issue immediately. Request a supervisor or manager to intervene. Keep detailed records of all communications. If they continue to stall, consider filing a formal complaint with your state's consumer protection agency or seek legal advice for further action.
