deltagard pcp28791 - application in error??? toxic to my dogs
TruGreen applied an insecticide to my lawn today. I did not order this service. It was intented for my neighbours. The manufacturers label indicates this is harmful to children and pets and they should not be permitted on the lawn until fully absorbed. I have a dog and am very concerned with the possibility of poisoning. I called the Edmonton office and finally reach a manager Brian Robins, who assures me there are no issues and my pet will not be affected. Seriously - who can these statement be even vaguely true when the label on the product made by Bayer says quite the contrary. This is the 2nd time my yard has been serviced in error. Last year was fertilizer and this year an insecticide. I need someone to give me a response in writing assuring me that this will have absolutely no negative effect on my pets and/or any children that might be on the lawn. I want to know how this keeps happening and I want to know what is being done to address this issue. I intend to file a complaints with the Better Business Bureau and all state and provincial regulator bodies if I do not get a prompt and satisfactory response in writing addressing all concerns.

Today I was my service was canceled for a 5 th time in the past five months. I've spoke with someone from corporate office in regards to the manager Jason who services the Brookshire/Pattison area . Today I watched the services guys come to my property, sit in the vehicle and then drive off. This is not the first time that I've witnessed techs come to my property and do nothing. I need to have someone contact me at [protected] in regards to this. At this point I want all of my services cancelled and a full refund returned to me. TruGreen has been the absolute WORSE company I've ever dealt with.

We hired TruGreen to help our new lawn (seeded last spring) get a good start this season. We purchased one of the most extensive and expensive service packages they offer. Our lawn has turned more and more brownish/yellow as the season has progressed. The soil has gotten slimy and hard. There are patches of completely dead grass throughout. We have spent so much time on the phone.. trying to reach customer service or managers, etc. They are very hard to reach. When we get through, the reps are very polite. The techs that have come out are mannerly but, obviously, that hasn't helped our lawn at all. We are thoroughly dissatisfied with what has been done.. Definitely more harm than good, as everything actually looked much better before they set foot in our yard. We are currently attempting to get a total refund. We would discourage anyone from purchasing any type of lawn care from this company.

I have never written a review before so please bare with me. I made a big mistake, and I would love for somebody to learn from what I did. I was taken in by the great pictures of green grass on the TruGreen web site and the low first time treatment price. I paid up; they came out, and they seemed nice enough. They put something or other on the lawn...a treatment tailored to this time of year (late spring). I don't have a big yard, maybe 50 feet by 25 feet. In about a week after they came the yard developed brown spots - dead grass, about 5 places in all. I called them to come out and see what effect the treatment had had. They readily admitted a mistake had been made, and could not be corrected until fall when I would have to aerate and over-seed. What happened to me was bad enough, but the poison they used had a very negative effect on my neighbor's garden. All and all it was a terrible experience. I have done some research since it happened. Stay away from companies like TruGreen. Check google. You will find people that will tell you all you need do is aerate, over seed and water. With the money I'm going to save you you can take me to dinner.
this has also happened to us.. lawn is struggling after TruGreen's services.. Clearly someone has sabotaged their chemicals or the company is just a total rip off.. Not sure what to think except that we shelled out a lot of money to see our lawn and the soil be slowly but surely destroyed right before our eyes.

Oh you should see mine, it's horrible and burnt completely, they came out to see it and admitted they did do it by applying too much product. When I called them and spoke with Adelaide 3 times, she said the supervisor would call me and still waiting after 2 months, of course I fired them so they are ignoring me. True green is the worst company ever.

Just as many others have said you end up disappointed. Tried them two different times with the same results. Worse lawn I ever had! They say we'll send someone out to rectify yet nothing ever changes. Got a burnt lawn one time and I was told they didn't know why. I brought it up again and was told they changed chemicals. Truth? When you want to cancel they want to offer discounts. How about offer me that price from the get go! What good is a discount if the product is no good? They won't leave you alone once you cancel. Where do I begin to complain about the service offered in Council Bluffs, IA? BAD! They don't follow through with promises to return calls, they are to call before coming, often times just show up and show up on days when instructed not to come due to conflict with other services. I am deployed with the U.S. military in Afghanistan and contracted with True-Green to provide lawn care. As I am not home to collect my mail, I elected for direct bill and trusted TG to provide services such as weed control. I finally went home on a quick R&R at the end of July and found that my yard is permeated with weeds. I have called TG 9 and requesting a supervisor contact me and evaluate the yard and I have received no follow-up from TG. The only person I speak with is someone from their bill collections department when they call to check on the payment. I have stopped paying TG and their collection department is call me for payment.
If anyone has a recommendation as to a number I can call to reach someone at TG that will look into this matter, please assist. I will add photo soon.

I started lawn care and pest control services in Spring, 2017. I had lots of weeds and bare spots in both front and back yards. I also had lots of ants in the yards and when the salesrep mentioned pest control service, I added that to my services. Within a week or so the services started and each time I had service I made sure to be at home and talk to the service person. After a couple of service calls I asked the weed control guy why my weeds were still here and multiplying along with all the bare spots on the lawn. He told me that the weeds had a waxy coating on the weeds and the most that would happen is a browning on the edges. He also told me that the bare spots needed grass seed and watering so that new grass would grow. I told him that the sales rep said that seeding wasn't needed. The service product would allow for the grass to grow and spread all over the lawn. Now I'm told that isn't the case. In other words bare spots and weeds are still all over my lawn. The same with the pest control. After several treatments for ants I continue to fight ants in the yard. I was told by the sales rep that if I needed a revisit before my regular service for either weeds or ants all I had to do was call customer service. I did just that for pest control, and customer service did take my order for a revisit. That was as far as the revisit went. Nothing happened until the date of my regular service even though I did call another time asking when the pest control person would be out. I have also called to talk to a manager about the service. Again promises but nothing changed. On September 26, 2017 I finally cancelled my services. I have more weeds, bare spots, and ants than I did before Trugreen service started but I have a lot less money in my bank account. My advice is to go elsewhere. I trusted this well known company and they failed big time.

When your personnel complete their work they usually leave yellow signs in the lawn warning to not use the lawn for 24 hours. These signs have a space to list the date. This space is never filled in. This morning my lawn mowing man arrived about 1/2 hour after your man left. Not knowing when the signs were posted, he started removing them. I stopped him. If I was not home the signs would have been useless. Why are the dates not filled in?

On or around the 16th of July I had my lawn fertilized and sprayed for weeds, shortly after my lawn was turning brown. It was a week after my 1st call that someone supposedly came to look at it. However repeated calls to find out what was happening and being told I would get a return call. No one callied me back so I decided to cancel my service. Very poor customer service.

Bob the service manager is keeping my reimbursement check. Called corporate and complaint departments, but they both keep saying I have to wait on bob to give me my money. I don't understand why corporate mailed bob my reimbursement check and now bob has to see me to drop it off. Why can't bob the service manager put it in my mailbox instead of having me have to take off work to get my money. He should have never gotten my check in the first place. Corporate has my address why didn't they send me my money?

Truegreen sprayed my lawn on July 14, 2017. The next day I noticed the yard looking brown. I watered as instructed but now more than half my lawn is dead. When I called they refused to let me speak with a manager. They said they will send out a service technician but not sure when. I called back several times and they said someone will come out tomorrow but they don't know who or what time someone will be here. I need my lawn repaired, my house is on the market and they ruined my curb appeal. I plan on suing then if I have to but would rather get this worked out.

I contacted True Green in February and told them I needed weed control and had several bare spots that I needed St. Augustine plugs for. I have about 3/4 acre of grass. I told them I was hosting a wedding August 15 th and needed my back yard looking nice. My back yard was about 15% weeds with several bare spots about 12 ft by 12 ft. The salesman told me I will also need fertilizer and suggested an insect spray because they also damage grass. I paid $1400 for a year of service. The first 3 treatments were only fertilizer with no weed control. They always had an excuse. After I called and asked about my grass plugs, insect control and about weed control they sent a guy out to spray again, but only more fertilizer. They also said a manager would call me within 3 days. No one called. The next 2 services were also just fertilizer with no weed control. I called again and they said they would send someone out. He came out and sprayed more fertilizer, no weeds. I called again and asked about my plugs and insect control. I was told a manager would call me. No one called. Next service, the same. Fertilizer only. I called to cancel service so I could get a responsible company to fix my yard and they said to wait and a manager would call me. No one called. I called a week later to cancel again and they said a manager would call. Instead a salesman called. When I asked about my plugs, weed control and insect spray that I purchased 3 months ago, he said I first needed to aerate my yard so the plugs would spread easier and the insect spray would be more effective in the soil. So I believed him since I was running out of time to get my yard ready and paid another $400 for aeriation. Then he suggested shrub spray and mosquito spray and wanted a year payment because it was cheaper. I told him I would purchase a one time spray for both until I got my insect spray, weed control and plugs. Aeriation was done a few days later. Then insect spray. 3 weeks later, no plugs or weed control. I called and they said a manager would call me. No one called. Then they sprayed for mosquitos and shrubs on the next service but no weeds. I called again and was told a manager would call me. No one called. I finally got the first weed spray in June. By then my weeds went from 15% to 45% in the back yard. Most of the bare spots were filling up with weeds. I called to cancel my service and they did, apologized and said a manager would call. No one called. 10 days later they came out and sprayed for mosquitos and shrubs and charged my credit card. I called to tell them I had cancelled their service and wanted a refund and they said a manager would call me. No one called. I called again to make sure my service was cancelled so I could start repairing my yard. They said it wasn't but they would stop. When I asked for a refund I was told I could only get a refund for the products I didn't get. Plugs and the remaining weed control and fertilizer for the rest of the year I paid for. The aeriation was a waist. I only purchased it because I was told it was needed before plugs were installed. It didn't change a thing about my yard. Now I have 3 weeks to get my back yard ready to host a wedding. $2200 estimate to sod the yard. I called True Green to ask if I could talk to someone about why I don't get a full refund and was told no. I already used some products and was only entitled a refund on the products I didn't use.
So it appears I got scammed. I initially called to get plugs and weed control. They probably knew they wouldn't provide me with weed control or plugs so they talked into buying several other products stating that it will help my yard with the plugs and weeds. They knew that eventually I would cancel service and they could charge me for the products that I never needed but they wanted to sell. Their ad states that they have a program custom tailored to every customers needs. It's actually custom tailored to their needs. They won't let you talk to anyone about refunds. Once again, I got scammed

Scotts was the best company before True Green. Never had an issue. True Green on the other hand is the exact opposite. Worst service ever. Trees under nourished yard dying and I water 3 x a week. I think I am getting water sprayed instead of feed. I have almost nothing but weeds whereas I had the most beautiful yard through last summer even with the heat. I was paying over $4000/ year and get [censor] in return. NICE JOB True Grren. Faithful customer GONE!
horrible weed control
I put down new lawn 2 years ago, and have been use Trugreen all the time. At the beginning of this year, I reported weeds out of control several time, and Trugreen came out and did the treatment. However they killed not only the weeds but my St Augustine lawn. Their lawn guy even told me that St Augustine is kind of weed, and as I request weed control too many times, they will be killed as well.

We put a new lawn in May 2016 and your company assured us that they can take care of it. They killed most of our Floratam. The rest is weeds and wild Bermuda. I have sent pictures to the service manager Mike Bianchi. My husband and I are extremely unhappy. We are in a small community and everyone gets lawn care from someone. This is embarrassing to say that TruGreen is the company we chose. We fill your company is responsible and should replace all areas that are bad. I tried to send an email with pictures to TruGreen.com but it will not go through. Like I said before I sent pictures to the service manager at [protected]@trugreenmail.com. I have not heard back from him either.

Tru Green renew 'automatically' each year without contacting and confirming with you. This is a problem I encountered after signing up in 2016 for a full year service and paying up front, the service was automatically renewed in 2017 without notification or approval from me.
furthermore the service they provided in 2016 was awfull, I was told that weeds would be gone and bare patches on my lawn would be repaired. the lawn is still the same as it was before any treatment in 2016.

TruGreen billing is horrible. I paid a full year in advance, yet received monthly bills. I tried calling them to straighten it out and the "service person" said, we used up all your money early on and now you owe us. I did NOT renew my service in April yet continue to receive bills from them.
I'm starting to think that TruGreen corporate is lying to their bankers and investors by knowingly falsifying the amount of receivables through fantom billing.

I have continuously used TruGreen for years but have noticed that my grass is recently turning brown as if it is about to die. I water it after treatments as requested and have a lawn mowing service. and always pay my bill. Trugreen is not doing something right that is killing my grass. Buyer Beware:
I don’t normally write reviews one way or another. I am the type of customer that understands “things happen”. I first was recommended to TruGreen back in the beginning of December 2016 from my landscaper. I had recently replaced my entire front yard with new sod and discovered after the sod was installed that it came with chinch bugs. I called TruGreen when I came home from work one night at about 7pm. The customer service agent or salesman sold me the service right over the phone with some BASIC guarantees. #1… They always call 24 hours in advance to make sure we are aware they are coming because I have a newborn and was concerned with the chemicals being sprayed without my knowledge. #2 they would fix my lawn…..make it green again! #3 if I was ever unsatisfied I could call back in between services and request a respray. I agreed to the verbal contract (as we were on a recorded phone line) and was told someone would be in touch with me within the next 5 days to set up a service. You can imagine my surprise when I arrived home 3 days later with Trugreen flags on my front yard indicating that someone was there and sprayed. What happened to calling 24 hours in advance to let me know they were coming out? I was aggravated because this is not what I was sold, but I never complained which is my fault. Two weeks later my wife calls me at work to tell me that Trugreen showed up with no notice and is now aerating my yard. Again, I was not called beforehand. Once again all I want is a GREEN YARD, so I again don’t complain. On the receipt that was left on the door it stated how to water the lawn and mow it. I showed this to my landscaper and he assured me that this is exactly how he mows; again he is the man who recommended me to Trugreen. I double checked my sprinkler system so that I was completely satisfied that my sprinkler was not over watering ( took the tuna can trick that they recommended). On the receipt, it was sated that I should see all weeds die and turn yellow within 3- 7 weeks. 9 weeks later I have the same awful looking lawn that I started with. I have already paid TruGreen approx. $250 by then. So if they come out every 2 months and you are not supposed to see improvements until 7 weeks, how are you supposed to call for a retreat? I mean Trugreen is supposed to be the “experts”. Last week was the final straw. I came home from work on 1/30/17 and found a door tag from TruGreen. It was a door hanger to try and drum up some business. On it was a note from the “Area Manager” Steve who stated that my lawn was overgrowing with weeds and to please call him so we could discuss what his company could do for me. I called him and played dumb. I asked him if my lawn looked that bad. He stated that he would have never left a note if it didn’t. He then told me the same thing the original guy who sold me the plan did from the beginning with 24 hour call before arrival, ect…. After he was done with the sales pitch I told him that my yard was getting treated but never told him it was from his company, TruGreen. He told me that I should call up and FIRE the company that I am with because they are clearly not doing their job and taking my money. When I finally told him that it was TruGreen he couldn’t back track fast enough. He then stated he was so sorry for the service that I had been given. He told me to call him from now on and to not call corporate as he wanted to make sure that the ball didn’t get dropped. We ended the phone call with him putting in a customer concern ticket and he said that someone would be in contact with me about my issues. Once again imagine my surprise when my wife called me the next day to tell me that TruGreen was spraying my lawn again without calling 24 hours before like they supposedly do. I called the corporate headquarters the next day and spoke with Carl Crawford (sorry if I misspelled) and stated my whole issue. I told him that I didn’t have any faith in the company anymore and my lawn still looks just as bad as it did from day one. I told him I feel that Trugreen should give my money back as they are not providing the service that was explained to me on a recorded line. Again I told him either give me my money back or make my lawn green which I no longer have faith that this company can do. He told me that he wanted to save me as a customer and that someone from the branch level(possibly the GM) would be contacting me no later than 3 business days which was Friday 2/3/17 being the last day. Well, today is Monday 2/6/17 and still haven’t heard anything! This is truly AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! I just want what I PAID FOR! Obviously after 3 times out and still not getting it right, this company never will. When I called to talk with someone I was told that they only can sell you a new service after hours but all complaints and issues with your account can only be discussed between Monday thru Friday 9-5pm. WOW! GREAT BUSINESS MODEL! I will be looking for a smaller company that actually values my business. I also have been told that because of my experience my landscaper will not be recommending TruGreen anymore because of the POOR SERVICE! As I stated at the beginning I never write reviews but in this case I don’t want anyone else to go through what I have. To top it all off I should have done the research from the beginning, their reviews are awful and I’m sure they don’t even tell the full story! I will be posting this review on EVERY REVIEW WEBSITE that there is and will be contacting the local news. I don’t want anyone else to be SCAMMED like I was!
