My first time ordering online from this place, I contacted Truworths when I realized that my shipment (the importance of which I stressed in writing and telephonically to them since it contained my aging mother's birthday gift) had been on the floor for almost three weeks. I was dumbstruck when Truworths tried to get me to shut up by lying and telling me they were at my house and there was nobody to receive the package. That's unfortunately not true, as neither my mom nor I saw anybody that day, neither did the CCTV camera at the entrance. I then had to pull up my shoulders when I told my mom there would not be any gift this time around.
What saddened me more, (and this might sound self-absorbed), is that i truly derive great pleasure out of gifting someone else, putting a smile on their face. Truworths elected to seize this opportunity from me by exercising their absolute lack of communication skills, and general attitude toward customers "This is just a job to put food on the table, and it's just miserable rich people moaning in my ears whole day long."
That order had to be cancelled a few times and resulted in MULTIPLE CALLS as they failed to credit my account, thereby reflecting a dar higher minimum installment for that month, as it was never adjusted to delete the products I "bought" for my mom's birthday.
This time around, and it's even worse. Call upon call upon call, one female Customer Service Representative, who dared to THROW, AUDIBLY, the phone down in my ear when I said that she was not supplying me with any assistance, but rather a load of excuses and sorry, sorry sorry.
When I threatened the ombudsman, I suddenly received a few text messages, and listen to this: I received these messages TODAY THE 24TH OF AUGUST 2023, telling me that I must please stand ready on the 23d (the previous day!?) of August, between 8 am and 5 pm. Which prompted me to send another email, for which I never got any acknowledgment whatsoever.
What on earth could it mean that I must please be ready for delivery ON A DAY THAT'S COME AND GONE ALREADY? Are these people okay?
Now it's bordering two weeks again, and I have one of a total of 7 parcels. I vowed to myself that I would never forget the sh"! service this place offered me, and go elsewhere.
Ps. They explained that they were having trouble sourcing all the things I had ordered. But I quickly dismissed that as another load of bull, as I could find everything I ordered via telephone to branches in and around Cape Town — which is only about an hour's drive from where I live.
Worst shopping experience I've ever had to endure. I'd rather walk barefoot and naked than order anything from this circus of a place.
Desired outcome: I can't be limited to 240 characters only to explain how Customer Service can recover from the pig's ear they've made from previous attempts.
