On April 29th, 2021 we met with a representative of the Unlimited Vacation Cluuc. HIs name is Ivan Tirado. We did not want to upgrade our membership, because we really didn't care about the benefits that would include. Then he brings his boss out, who was a real [censored]. Still not interested. Then Ivan pulls out his tablet and shows us some of the rates we...
Read full review of Unlimited Vacation ClubLiars who scam people to join a vacation club that is worthless!
We spent 7 nights at Dreams Tulum where we were taken advantage of with a scam of a "Vacation Club Membership" that they wouldn't allow me to cancel when I requested to do so and where I (and 15 of my family members/travel companions) contracted COVID-19! December 2020.
Let me start from the beginning.
We sat through the presentation honestly for the free gifts. After truly falling in love with the beautiful Tulum Dreams Resort, we were convinced to sit down further to discuss pricing with an upper manager. The man asked us many questions including; where we travel, how often, when, who we travel with, etc.
We answered the following:
*We travel 2-3 times per year and always with our young children and at least once a year with additional families creating a group of 18 or more!
*We tend to book "last-minute" vacations, sometimes within a few weeks of travel (they said we only needed 24 hours to book!)
*We go to Aruba once a year and they said that was "perfect" because they were building a BRAND NEW DREAMS Resort Property in Aruba! Knowing that the current all-inclusives there are only the Rui and the Barcelo, we were thrilled to hear this information !
We were VERY SPECIFIC that we *DO NOT TRAVEL during the NY Summer months because it is a very busy season for our business. (low season for this "Vacation Club".)
*We only travel on HOLIDAY WEEKS that are ALWAYS Thanksgiving, SPRING BREAK and often NEW YEARS. We were specific. We knew we needed to have these times and dates available to join any sort of vacation club because that is WHEN WE TRAVEL.
We crunched numbers and were shown all of the "deals" and offers they have available to us! These offers were on a vertical page on the left was Zoetry with the price $117 per person per night and went through all of the brands and landing on the Sunscape Resorts where the man wrote in $42 per person per night. The other resorts in the middle varied from $69 - $99 pp per night. He told us that children would be half price, but they often ran specials where children were FREE. He pulled up a beautiful, easy to manage website on a tablet and showed us how to navigate the site and how they were even currently running Thanksgiving Specials during PEAK TRAVEL TIMES with free children and adults only $42pp per night! The resort we were currently in was $62 per person, per night and he said $868 for a WEEK VACATION and FREE KIDS! We'd just need flights. Not too bad. We usually average $3500 for our family of 4 to an all inclusive because I am very savvy and find great deals. We also follow great deals and explore new destinations when a bargain presents itself ! Anyhow, the men explained we could bring up to 20 rooms with us when we travel. We'd always book the lowest category for ourselves and then be upgraded to the highest category possible! Meaning, at least one category higher upgrade at time of booking, but if something more (including penthouse suites) were available at the time of check-in, we'd be upgraded upon arrival. This seemed too good to be true, but they promised it wasn't! It was a perk and a privilege of being a member of the Unlimited Vacation Club.
Upon arriving home December 1, 2020, I started reading up on what we purchased on the internet and didn't think they were being honest or truthful. I had NOT RECEIVED a CONTRACT. I wanted to look over details, but all I could find were documents of problems online and on the Better Business Bureau ; giving them 1.3 Stars out of 5! So, I called first thing on December 2 in the morning to discuss. I was told "everything is okay and will be as promised. Don't worry." I explained my concerns, they told me I cannot access the website or anything until I have the concierge do a "Welcome Call" and we needed to set that up before I was eligible to login. I could call back if I have any questions AFTER the welcome call was completed. I still HAD NO CONTRACT to read the terms and they denied me when I asked for one.
I was overwhelmed with fear that we were swindled out of so much money. I was sure we were taken advantage of. But I also had a headache that was debilitating and I couldn't talk anymore. I drove myself to the walk-in clinic and was diagnosed positive with COVID-19 ! The next three weeks were HELL!
I was trying to take care of this complete MESS of the UVC, but could barely lift my head from a pillow. I was making phone calls, being disconnected, being delivered false promises of call backs, and worst of all LIED TO! We also had another vacation planned for my mother's 60th Birthday to Antigua for New Year's Eve! We were traveling with the same group of people who went to Tulum and 15 of the 18 of us who had contracted the Coronavirus on the Dreams Tulum property! And guess what? We needed to cancel our trip because COVID-19 can still come up as positive up to 3 months after a positive result! My mom's 60th Birthday on December 30th was going to be ruined, but I had the idea to try and use this "wonderful" vacation club we joined. We chose a new destination, Costa Rica, because they did not require a Covid test. We were all cleared by our health professionals to travel, but again, couldn't go to Antigua based on their Covid-travel restrictions. Attempting to use the Unlimited Vacation Club WAS EVEN WORSE than I could've imagined. The website was NOT user-friendly (as it had been on the Tablet in the conference room!), the prices were hundreds of dollars HIGHER per person than I was finding on Jetblue.com and other search engines, and I was overwhelmed with anxiety!
While researching new destinations, I also realized they LIED ABOUT ARUBA! Aruba was, in fact, NOT going to have a Dreams property where we could vacation using our UVC Membership with our children!
I immediately called UVC to get better pricing for the new trip we were planning and the prices that were shown to me were FRAUDULENT! Nothing resembled them. The representative said they recently updated that "user friendly" website so it no longer looks the same. This was UNBELIEVABLE! They LIED about pricing, they LIED about booking last minute, they LIED about our benefits. I BEGGED THEM TO CANCEL! But, they "couldn't cancel our membership" in the department I was in and they transferred me more times than I can count where I was DISCONNECTED EVERY TIME! When I finally did get someone on the phone days later, they said I would get a call from the Quality Assurance Dept. That number is not something you can dial! I TRIED MANY TIMES with no success! What I did receive phone calls from, were people DEMANDING MONEY! THREATENING ME. BULLYING ME! I demanded to cancel with every single phone call I got EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR WEEKS!
I need this cancelled. We cannot pay for a Vacation Club which we cannot use. The LIES UPON LIES and terrible mismanagement of a "Quality Assurance Department" that barely exists is FRAUD! They stole our money. They lied about Aruba even having a DREAMS Resort coming there! (Another MAIN SELLING POINT for our family!) It is actually a SECRETS Resort and our children (whom we specified that we always travel with!) are not allowed to stay on property because SECRETS is "ADULTS ONLY!" AGAIN, a BLATANT LIE!
The UVC salesman was dishonest and did not engage in truthful practices because he lied about how far in advance we would need to book to have access to "deals" and fabricated the resort that my family could travel to in Aruba. They do not follow through with their discount guarantees. The representatives lied about nearly all of our questions. They wrote down a bunch of misinformation and presented false advertising on their services. We never received any documents or copies of our contract. We have had multiple requests to pay additional fees, amounting to thousands of dollars, without having anything in hand.
We need our money refunded to the credit card company. I do NOT WANT to be contacted regarding payments any more! I do not want this affecting my life negatively any further. This is the most terrible organization of liars who take people's hard-earned money and try to make them pay extra for vacations when they promised luxury, ease of booking and discounts! We got nothing but COVID-19, long-haul Covid effects, and a headache.
Desired outcome: DEPOSIT REFUNDED and STOP DEMANDING future payments!!
I am uncertain WHY this has been noted as "RESOLVED." In no way has this issue been resolved! I am still being harassed!

Fraud
The following six elements are generally required to prove the tort of fraudulent misrepresentation. After each condition, I have published anecdotal evidence to support fraud. I have requested full and speedy refund.
1. The defendant made a false representation or lied.
Three representatives were asked about a specific price range and all three separately verified our understanding of what we would pay for future vacations
2. The misrepresentation is material to the transaction.
Had we known the actual price of vacations, we would not have signed up for the membership
3. The defendant made the misrepresentation with malice (the defendant made the statement with knowledge that the statement was false or the defendant made the statement with a reckless disregard as to the veracity of the statement).
All three representatives all knew exactly what the lowest price was that we could be expected to pay for weekly vacations
4. The defendant made the misrepresentation with the intention of inducing the other party to enter into a contract.
Convincing us that our understanding of the price was a tangible motivation to get us to contract caused them to misrepresent the price.
5. The other party reasonably relied on the misrepresentation.
We could have verified that the price we understood was well below the actual price of future vacations by having appropriate access to the vacation club website. As we had five days to change our mind about the transaction, having access to this website would have rendered the deal dead. Instead, even though we asked for access to the website and were denied, we only got access three days after the fifth day, making it impossible to retract from the deal in an appropriate time. The act of denying access to the UVC website is a strategy to misrepresent the product.
6. The defendant's lie was the proximate cause for the plaintiff's injury.
Since the defendant lied about the price of future vacations, and since the defendant withheld critical information until it was too late to cancel the contract under normal conditions, and since these vacations would be unaffordable to us at the actual prices, potential injury is caused by paying upfront charges for services that were deceptively explained.

Membership Services Sales Reps
Unlimited Vacation Club membership services is a fraudulent company! Their sales reps approach you for an orientation on their VIP services. We took the orientation and we were promised X amount of free nights at their UVC Locations for up to 8 members, free yacht trips, and discounted flight tickets for an $XX, XXX.XX of USD. A hefty amount of US dollars!
Their sales associates promised us the moon and the stars and we got caught in their trap. They are complete LIARS on their sales pitches and they are taking advantage of tourists! They are SCAMMERS!
TOURISTS BEWARE! Do not sign up for any of these services! And if you do, Read your contract because what they pitch you in person is NOT what goes into the contract.
We are now caught in a he said she said situation and ultimately from what UVC management has informed us, the customer is WRONG and they do NOT care about making things right!
The hotel and UVC should be ashamed of themselves into tricking and taking advantage of their tourists. Secrets The Vine also gets a 0 for allowing these type of transactions in their hotels.
Desired outcome: Cancel my contract!!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
A total scam! We were told lies!
We were told lies when going on the tour and the things they wrote down. We signed up 19 days ago and I have been on the phone all day with them. They hung up on me 2 times and waited over 30-45 minutes on hold every time I called. They never called back after leaving information 2 times. We were told we had 30 days to cancel and they sent us an email saying we only had 5 days to cancel which was all while we were at the resort but they never told us that. We were lied to. We were also told our payments would be half and they showed us in the documents and then when the contract was sent to our email the price was more than double for the payments. This is such a scam. We gave them over $6, 000 US $ and they are not giving us our money back. We are going to contact a lawyer and file a lawsuit against them!
Desired outcome: Cancel our agreement and give us our money back.

Service - ucv membership
"purchased" this membership with our citi-costco card where we were convinced that this membership is the best deal ever under bottles of Champaign. My husband and I traveled to cancun 11/2020, and decided to cancel in 12/2020. As you probably read, they allow 5 days to cancel if you are lucky enough. However, we did not even receive the signed contact until about a month after, which we have email prove of requesting this documentations to be mailed and emailed to us. They lied and said that it was done as soon as it was signed. Additionally, they told us about a bank that is affiliated with the U.S., and as long as we sign this document, we can use this bank to pay for our down payment and start to pay it back when we get back to the U.S..
we arrived back to the U.S. and received a new credit card under this "bank" that no one told us about this credit card at all. We read over the documentation that we have signed, and neither did it mention about a credit card either. If this does not define a scam, then, i am not sure what would.
From all the terrible costumer service that i no longer need to go in details about since there are plenty people who had expressed experience similar than mine, we felt ill to EVER use their service again. So far, our bank has granted the money to UVC with unknown reason. So, there goes the 50% of the payment, gone now!
During this process of "communication" with UVC, we have been given multiple nonfunctioning and false numbers, and lied about our benefits, such as so called "free nights", lied about closing, where we were told that "you can close anytime" and "we will find a buyer for you so that you can get a full refund" with both the "supervisor" and sale's staff present. That was the only reason why we bought it so quickly because we thought if we don't like it, we will be able to just cancel it at anytime. Honestly, if a service is good, then, you wont have to worry about people canceling. With all these vitims here, I think our government or their government should do something about this. All in all, this has put a bad taste about Mexico in my mouth. Don't think we will ever visit there again.
we have been searching for various legal sites and traveling sites for help and so far, the only thing I have found is to dispute via bank and as well as just stop paying. Our bank had given them the money, and as well as UVC now had sent us to collections, which we had no experience of dealing with. there is a lot anxiety and fear in our household because UVC. I would warn anyone about this. I would not wish this on my worst enemy.
Desired outcome: Refund for all of our money and cancel asap
I am sorry to hear that you are in the same boat DansvanUVC. I would not wish this on my worst enemy. i hope you are able to get out of this. I hope someone who has power and wants to do good penalize this company and hopefully return our money then. well, for now, it's at least a good dream and hope. best luck to you.
I am not going to email you.
We end up biting our tongues and paid for the half of the total cost and canceled with them this way. This is not at all an ideal solution or a "solution" at all. But we are just so happy that we don't have to deal with UVC at all anymore! never ever want to hear from anyone from UVC. THE WORST COMPANY EVER! Don't fall for their traps. Good luck to those who are still fighting to get out from UVC.
Our story is similar to the other complaints about UVC on this site. We gave UVC a "deposit" of over $4000 while at their high pressure sales presentation in January 2021. We loved the resort itself, but have been concerned about the ability to travel again to Mexico, since the threat of COVID vaccine passports is becoming very real. We were shown a book of properties within a couple hundred miles of our home, supposedly available via RCI where we could get very low cost weeks. But by the time we received our logins, etc. (especially for RCI), it was too late to "cancel". We have closed the credit card we had given them for ongoing payments, and have told them to give us our money back and stop harassing us. They call us every day, several times a day. I do not answer the calls, but it's a hassle even to delete their repetitive voice mails. This is a SCAM - a ripoff. Do not go near this company under any circumstances. They are liars and cheaters!
P.S. I notice that the response from UVC on each of these complaints is the same. Same BS, different complaint. Shame on you UVC!
Maintenance fees
When I joined the unlimited vacation club the sales person assured me that Apple travel was under the umbrella am a senior citizen so Apple is the only way I travel. Two months after I have joined I tried to book a trip and they told me Apple was no longer under the umbrella but I'm locked into a contract. That I've been paying consistently without any benefits. I've been on three trips that other travel services prices was much better so I haven't use the club.Recently I wanted to check their website just to see what's available and I was blocked because of three years of maintenance fees that slipped by me because I don't use the club.Do you think is fair to still collect my monthly bill while The maintenance fees have my account in Default in all services are suspended? The salesman lied, their collections is aggressive and nonnegotiable while I pay for Absolutely nothing! This should be illegal and as a senior citizen I need some help! I was unaware of my maintenance fees and after a lot of calls emails emailsTrying to get me to upgrade by arrogant sales people ignored the calls and emails and just simply pay my bill .now I have three years of maintenance fees and no reasonable negotiation to resolve or assist me in this one way rip off!
I will never forget the feeling of getting hoodwinked and bamboozled for such a long term agreement and they call it a club. I need help! The government is giving away money to everyone Regardless, So for proven patriot like myself to get rolled over with no help Has depressed me seriously In my senior years!👎🏿🙏🏻 HELP
Desired outcome: Maintenance fees Reduced And at least open the site for viewing
On my next vacation I’ll put a little time in warning the public about that bait and switch sales tactic! The resort looks fine and the salesman is Kane but after you sign You get a glass of wine Because they got you behind for a long time!
DT1-004204 is my member ID again! The only emails I get promotion advertisements that I cannot read because I cannot get on the site and billing payment request! I am so angry that is senior citizen patriot like myself to get strong armed In a one-way contract. I am paying for air and it’s so not fair!
Again The response for this unfair situation I am in about the contract that I signed that does not affect the sales person that lied on several benefits That I would get. Every month they bill me for my monthly bill and I still can’t get on the site bunch of crooks!Someone should be out there to help senior citizens and other vacationers has been hoodwinked by this outfit!
I think a class action suit it’s definitely warranted Any thorough investigation would reveal the misleading presentation.Unethical business practices, bait and switch etc. There’s no way out for Travelers like myself That Require all inclusive travel. They did upgrade me to a handicap room while in Cancun Even though I did not book with them and because the price was was much better and included airfare.

Nothing more than a scam!
Unethical practices, lies, steal money and cheat people out of hard earned money.
Watch out, I wish I had known what I've learned the hard way.
Nothing they say is true, they are literally taught to lie to potential clients.
Unlimited Vacation Club sold us a timeshare that was totally different on paper than what they actually sold us.
From the very moment of arrival at Secrets, we were constantly bothered about a 90-minute consultation. Finally, we decided that we would attend and *4-hours later we are trying to do anything to get out of their stronghold. We signed a carbonless paper contract that stated we would receive 3-individual weeks stay in a "Preferred Club Swim-Out Suite" at any RCI/UNLIMITED VACATION VIP premium resort. This was explained quite clearly that we would get to stay in a room just exactly like the one we stayed in.
I started doubting that this company was legitimate so I printed out the 40-page contract document and started reading it and to my complete surprise, it was not at all what I had signed originally.
I called them on 03-04-20 and they politely said they would turn it over to their cancellation department and have someone contact me in 1-3-days. They acted like it was common and they would refund my money, they conveyed no hesitation or problem with a refund.
We were assured that we could stay in the exact hotel room that we stayed in on our stay 01-22-20, a luxury swim-up room. I repeatedly ask this specific question "Am I going to get 3-weeks in this exact same room, guaranteed?" They repeatedly said yes, without a doubt. This was not the case, the on-line contract clearly states that those rooms are not included.
Unlimited Vacation Club stalked us upon arrival at the hotel. They lied to us and forged a written document. They did not and cannot offer what they offered verbally and on paper (the one we signed and agreed to). They lied, cheated and stole our money.
Ridiculous Company, utterly should be ashamed to work there and practice this kind of business!

uvc membership blocked since 02/03/2021
UVC owes me 180.00 since 10/2020. I was told it would take 1-90 days to get it back. I never got it and it is now March 11th. The person who paid this trip filed a dispute with capital one for 180.00 and capital one filed a charge back to UVC. UVC then calls me to tell me I am blocked due to the dispute LOL! but they can't pay me my 180.00 back. I have been blocked since 02/03/2021 and CAPITAL ONE returned their money on 02/04/2021. I have sent pics, emails, letters about 25 times and I have called every single day since 02/03/2021. I am still blocked. This is the worst customer service ever and not to mention 75% of the people don't even speak English.
Desired outcome: UNLOCK MY ACCOUNT ASAP!

Lied, cheated and stole our money!
This is ridiculous scam that even to this day says they are working toward a resolution but have never contacted me! Unlimited Vacation Club sold us a timeshare that was totally different on paper than what they actually sold us.

It´s a shame
I signed the contract beginning of january (this year).
Then I made the big mistake to pay the full amount in advance...
When I realize that I was scammed, I asked them how much money I would have back.
There was no answer, and they cancel my membership!
Yes!
Wonderful!
I paid the whole amount and I have no membership now!
Ridicolous!
I want my money back, I didn´t use any service!
How can you have such an attitude?
Now I will expect the usual answer: give us your name and ID.. for what?
Will you return my money? Or you will give again, again, and again this case to quality department?

uvc membership contract - deceptive sales practices and flat out fraudulent lies
My fiancé and I recently signed up for a UVC me ever ship this past November and I can attest to first hand that all the negative things you read about this company and it's sales representatives are completely true. These people are 100% scam artists with zero remorse or shame.
We have been to 6 different Secrets / Zoetry / Breathless resorts and loved every one of them. We even have recommended and traveled to these resorts with numerous other family members and friends. While at Secrets Akumal this past fall, we finally relented and decided to take part in the sales pitch for the UVC membership. Our sales reps were named Maria and Daniel Guerrero and they were both initially very friendly and helpful. The process was began positive but digressed very quickly into the high pressure horror story sales pitch that you read about so many times. We spent over 4 hours of our day trapped in a room being fed cheap champagne and were told repeatedly that we were not allowed to leave. They also did their best to block WiFi and cell phone reception in the office so you cannot google the company and read the horror stories.
After all the pressure, we decided to go with the membership since we travel to so many AM Resorts and love them so much. We paid over $25, 000 usd for a membership that was supposed to include so many perks, including a program called "Flybacks" where each person gets $500 annually if you fly to an AMResort. Upon review of the contract in the office, I did not see any mention of the fly back program in the contract. I asked both David and Maria about this and they assured me that it was part of my membership, and that the resort was covering the initial $4200 fee for us to receive this benefit. I insisted it be added to the contract, and they lied and told me it was.
After signing the contract, I went back to my room, decompressed for a few hours, and decided to read the contact in it's entirety again. To my surprised, I again found no mention of the fly back program. I went and visited David Guerrero the next day to speak with him about this, he once again assured me that I would receive this benefit and that they initiation fee was included in my membership cost. He told me that because this was a 3rd party company and benefit, that there would be no mention of it in the contract. I demanded some sort of proof of the benefit for later down the road, and he provided me with some bs paper that he refused to sign explaining the fly back program and benefits. This was of course, all lies and fraudulent promises.
My fiancé and I were very satisfied with our membership initially. I booked a surprised trip to Secrets Cap Cana for her and 4 of our closest friends as part of a surprise proposal. When we arrived, the automatic upgrade to preferred clubs rooms that David promised me would happen every time we booked did not occur. The UVC rep there explained to me that this was not not part of my contract. To my surprise, the next day she tried to pitch and sell me on the idea of paying $4, 200 to join the "Flybacks" program. When I told her that this benefit was included in the membership I entered into at Akumal, she pulled out my contract and said there was no mention of it and was therefore not included.
Obviously annoyed, I insisted we get on the phone with Secrets Akumal to clear this up. Surely David and Maria, whom were so kind, helpful and reassuring when I signed the contract would remember me and clear up this confusion easily.
I couldn't have been more wrong. We called Secrets Akumal and I spoke to the operations manager Diana. She informed me that my contact indeed had no mention of the Flybacks program, and that I would not be able to speak with David or Maria as they had moved to other areas of the hotel and they could not locate them (obvious another lie and a core part of this UVC scam)
This company did its best to ruin the trip on which I had planned to propose to my now fiancé, telling us we had essentially been scammed out of a $10, 000 benefit that we were promised among many other things. After this whole ordeal, the UVC rep at Secrets Cap Cana had the nerve to ask us to have our friends that were traveling with us meet with her to purchase a membership!
I'll be contacting my credit card companies when I return state side to inform them of the fraud I experienced with the hole that they will be able to help me recoup some of my investment. I also have been in contact with an attorney who has dealt with these scam artists on numerous occasions.
Although UVC has defrauded me of over $25, 000, my sincere hope is that at least one person will read this review and be saved from these scumbags. I will never spend another dime traveling to an AMResort branded location and will encourage all of my friends and family to avoid these places as well. It's such a shame because we love the resorts and have such good memories at them, all of which have now been ruined by salespeople and a company that flat out lies to your face.
Still no word or resolution for the “Quality Assurance” department. Stay far away from this company and save yourself the money, headache, and frustration.
Update: After weeks of back and forth via email (nobody from quality control can ever be reached via phone) the offer I received for the “misunderstanding” and threatening notes citing the “legal team” was a 2 free night voucher
As if I would want to return to these places and give them anymore money as a reward for dishonesty and poor customer service
At this point I do not expect this situation to be resolved. Customer service goes away the minute they have your money
Update: As expected, the company is denying that any of this occurred despite me having a benefit summary document that was filled in the by sales rep / manager
They have also demanded that I remove this post and threatened me with contract cancellation and legal action if I do not comply
Your best course of action with these fraudsters is to stay far far away, however blasting your story on social media is the best way to be a thorn in their side and hopefully warn others away
UVC Membership
Signed up for a UVC membership 2 1/2 years ago. Complete mistake. Cancelled the membership after being hounded throughout my vacation to sign additional documents, each time with another apology. Once home from the vacation, reviewed the documents and realized it was a mistake and cancelled. We were told that it was too late but they would lower the amount due. After about a year, we simply stopped payment on our credit card and blocked them from charging us any further. This led to repeated harassing emails and voicemails. Our credit never took a hit as a result but we are still out over $3500.
Desired outcome: A refund of the amount owed to us ($3500).

Contract not cancelled, refund not received
My fiancé and I were lied to by multiple salespersons. After getting back to our accommodations after signing the contract, we realized there were numerous lies and discrepancies amongst the sales pitch so we decided to cancel in person and provided a cancellation letter within 4 days after signing the contract. The initial in person contract was about 10 pages long. The contract they emailed us in return was 50 pages long and included numerous additional e-signatures that neither of us verified in person. After submitting the cancellation letter, we were told our contract had been cancelled and we would receive the cancellation confirmation via email in addition to our full refund being processed within 7-10 business days. We waited the full 10 days to see a refund and never received it. I called customer service to inquire about the cancellation email and was told I would need to file a claim. I filed a claim and was told to wait 48 hours to receive an email regarding my claim. I never received an email. I called customer service for the next few days until getting contacted by a quality assurance rep. I explained our situation repeatedly and the service rep stated we would have to pay 50% of total price to cancel even though we delivered the cancellation letter in person on day 4! I am so frustrated and the "quality assurance" rep continues to state that there was never a cancellation letter received. I am reporting to BBB regarding this fraudulent business and they way they have handled my request. Unless I receive my refund and cancellation confirmation, I have no choice but to report to the state attorney general, PROFECO and the BBB.
Desired outcome: Refund & contract cancellation
I have still yet to receive follow up regarding this complaint. The customer service goes downhill as soon as you step off their property.
I have yet to receive additional follow up after contacting the email address listed in the customer service response to my complaint. This is extremely typical of the customer service I've experienced thus far. I don't expect resolution on behalf of UVC at this point.
They won't refund you a dime. I have been waiting for a refund since OCT 2020 for 180.00.
They are a scam!
UVC Gold Membership not honoring contract
Exhibit B, #3 states: Each deposit transaction (7 Nights / 1 Week) through RCI will provide member 20 Trading Power Units as such term is defined in RCI´s Membership Agreement.
If for any reason Member require additional Trading Power Units to fulfill the requested exchange with RCI, Mediator shall provide an additional number of Trading Power Units up to the amount of 40. In such cases member is not required to use any of the allotted number of Exchange Nights but will be required the applicable combine fee.
RCI shows my deposited weeks are now devalued to be only 19 trading power, and I needed 20 for the week I wanted. In accordance with the membership, I called to request the additional point needed. Today I spent hours on the phone with UVC representatives- the first one charged me $250- I told her I did NOT want to deposit another week, and she assured that was not what she was doing, that she was adding trading points. This afternoon, the customer service representative explained that $250 was for depositing 2 more of my weeks. The CS supervisor explained for 1.5 hours that I needed to use my weeks to get to a week's trading power.
This is NOT in keeping with the contract as referenced above, which states the points will be provided to me.
Desired outcome: Trading points/power restored to 20, or 2 weeks deposited, no $250 extra "combining fee" charged by UVC as was stated to me
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
uvc is a scam!! will file a lawsuit if I do not receive my deposit back and able to cancel
My husband and I purchased in Puerto Vallarta 10/18/20 on our second day of vacation. We were sold on nightly prices of $85/night for breathless and secrets and $75/night for Now at all locations. I still have the paper from the presentation with the prices written above each resort. We were planning a NYE trip with friends and we were told all of our friends could book for the $85/night in Punta Cana and also received 2 weeks with RCI and $2000 with lifestyles for hotels, flights, and car rental. Once we got home we tried to log on to plan our NYE trip. After calling I was told I could not get my log in for a couple weeks but they would give me quotes. I then found out the $85/night was a lie. They first tried saying it's because of low and high season and then it came out that really we only got 25% off the rooms. When I priced everything out with cheap Caribbean you pay more booking through UVC after flights and transportation. I was livid. I immediately filed a formal complaint with compliance and asked for a refund and to cancel. I was told I had to cancel within 5 days which we were still at the resort within those 5 days. We continued to complain and they kept saying it was a misunderstanding and a legal binding contract and there is nothing we can do. We were lied to about everything on the contract and I have told them countless times I have the paper with their handwriting on it. Yesterday I tried to book flights with our the lifestyles money to try and salvage some of the money we paid. On the paper they gave me they highlighted flights and when I called they said flights are never able to be booked with the money. And the hotels and car rental you just get a small amount of "savings" (at most $60) which is no different than on Expedia or kayak. It is literally impossible to use the $1000/yr. Carlos was our sales person and literally everything was a LIE. I have made countless phone calls crying, yelling, doing anything to try and get these people to help us with no luck. I am currently looking for a lawyer to get atleast some of our money back and out of this SCAM.
Desired outcome: Refund on deposit and cancellation of contact

Unethical practices - Requesting Full Refund, Cancellation of Contract in Writing
Client Account DDX-001141
Email - [protected]@gmail.com
Date: 8/15/2019 - Cancun Mexico
I would like a full refund $2386, due to the unethical practices UVC imposes on tourist for their own monetary gain.
Unethical Practices
1. You are bombarded by hotel staff throughout your stay. Every time you leave your room another person pops up about the "presentation".
2. This presentation is tied to everything you want to do. Especially the excursions. You are told you will get a discount to the excursion of choice if you sit through a presentation.
3. Before you walk into the presentation you are told by staff (at that time) to say that you do not have anything planned for the rest of day. I didn't realize this was the tactic they use to keep you there.
4. They really target tourist who are staying 5 days or more - they do this, so you are in the resort during the cancellation period. The hotel is in on the scam as well. They make sure Wi-Fi is shotty so you cannot google the company while you are there. Nor can you open your contract while you are there.
5. They tell you the presentation is 90 min - however it is actually 5-6 hours (yes). They make you wait and keep serving you drinks while you wait. They make sure you have another drink before the next person "talks" to you.
6. They have other salespeople there waiting and listening to your conversation just so the next person can come in with a "better deal" They do this so it is hard for you to leave. Every time I told them "no thanks can't afford this" another one came to "see what he can do". They finally beat you down (verbally) with another discounted price - by hour 5 you just want it to be over.
UVC harasses you daily for more money as if you can do anything with the package you have. This company is extremely unethical, and the complaints are growing. It is just a matter of time before a class action suit is filed (if not already). This is my attempt to resolve this - I want my full refund of $2386, contract voided in writing and to be left alone. If not, I will be seeking the class action route.
Desired outcome: Full refund and cancellation of contract in writing

Cancellation of membership uvc and full refund of down payment
Club Customer Service Contracts
Regarding this complain I have a lot of doubts about the position of Customers because due to the interpretation of the cancel period my understanding is that this time starts only when the customer is informed via email to activate their user and starts using their membership because it's the only logical way to verify the value of the membership there is no other way to do so, after that time the 5 day limit to cancel the contract is valid. Thus trying to penalize me with a payment of the 30% of the total amount of the membership it's completely wrong and against ethics in business because I activated my membership on January 4 and requested my cancellation on January 7.
Follow it's a list of mails trying to convince Ms. Leisy Rivero in order to make the cancelation of my membership but the answer it's that I must pay the 30% of the total amount of the contract in order to cancel my membership and this is in my opinion with all due respect it´s a wrong decision.
I will appreciate very much for a verification from a high level authority inside UVC in order to obtain a fair result for this request of cancellation of our membership and the full refund of the down payment according to the early termination clause # 8 of the contract.
Information regarding the contract is:
Number: SVC-000064. Type: White pearl
Clients: Agustin Miguel Jacobo Salas Vázquez and Irma Judith Siguenza Sastre
You are able to verify the veracity of this information.
Below is the copy of mail regarding this complain.
I will appreciate your intervention and an a solution please.
Thanks in advance.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Ms. Leisy Rivero, unfortunately I urgently need to cancel my membership and I understand from your emails that you do not consider valid that activating the membership in my case was on January 4th when I received your instructions by mail that I could already enter to create my password and use it; if you allow me to say so and being very respectful it seems to me that this is a position that goes against the business ethics in prejudice of you towards the Clients that in good faith we trust that your company has the clients first. I would understand that if customers make use of their membership and decide to cancel, the early termination of course applies and is clear in the contract in the specific clause.
Sorry for continuing to insist on this point and in order not to make your work uncomfortable, I ask you to please channel me with a higher level of hierarchy within your company and to escalate this request so that we can obtain a fair solution so that the cancellation does not involve other types of instances that always affect both parties. For a moment I ask you to put yourself in my situation and think that I have already paid $63, 980 pesos for a service that you have not used and they are asking you what you are telling me to pay $64, 800 pesos to cancel the service, would you agree? Believe me I understand and respect very much that you are doing your job however I ask you to please escalate this request so that we can come to a good end. Thanking you again for your attention, Agustín Salas Vázquez and Irma Judith Siguenza Sastre
Desired outcome: Immediate cancellation and full refund of $63,980 pesos = to 3,199 USD

not able to use RCI services
We attended the Orientation at Secrets Aura Cozumel in November, 2020 on our first morning there. We joined that day. In the process of this we told them that we took a family vacation the last week of July every year and were sold on the RCI side to be able to save money that week. We were assured that, that would not be a problem. While we were there, we did try to cancel 3 times. BUT, we were talked back in and they showed us some properties in the area that we go to that were available. Upon finally receiving the login info, after a month, we looked to book that week that we go and there were none available for the next 2 years, I did talk to an RCI agent who also said there was nothing available for the week or the summer. This was the reason for buying the membership in the first place. Darius was told this was the main reason we bought into it and that we have teachers in our family and this is the only time we can go. So we can't use this Vacation Club for what we told them we wanted it for. It is useless for us. we were also told by Darius if we got back and did not like the membership we could cancel at any time, without penalty.
Desired outcome: Cancelation of membership or adjusting membership to just include AM Resorts
