delayed delivery
We have been dealing with dhl, fedex and ups and by far ups is the worst - they have no sense of responsibility whatsoever - our shipment was picked in the uk on friday -16th jun and still has not reached muscat/oman - we should have recd it on the 19th and today is the 21st.. It seems one of the associated packages is not recd... Who suffers due to the incompetence of ups.. Every shipment is recd on the 5th day though we should have it on the 3rd day — all goes to prove how inefficiet they are and how easily the customer is cheated - I am referreing to awb 1z9w42630442929603 at the moment

drop off fee
I found out today that UPS is now charging a DROP OFF fee if you drop off a prepaid package. Dish Network had sent me a new received and a PREPAID label to return the broken receiver. When I dropped it off at Phoenix Drugs in Leesville, LA, I was charged a $1 drop off fee. They told me that other stores were charging more, and I called Dish about the additional charge. Dish had never heard of this, so I did some research online. There are several comments about UPS charging a drop off fee for a prepaid package. This is absolutely ridiculous. If this is accepted, the charges will only go up. Soon, you will be paying $20 to drop off a prepaid package.

I have placed an order with your supplier on 16th of Dec 2010, and paid
the money with in 10 minutes of deal via PayPal to make sure that I
receive my shipment on time., The supplier entered all the information
and prepared the package to ship and instructed UPS Chinato pick up the
goods on 17th of Dec 2010. Apparently UPS Chinain Shenzhendid not pick
up the goods well until following Monday 20th dec 2010. You can imagine
how bad the courier company will be if they do not pick up a parcel well
after 3 days on promise date to pickup.
I was given tracking number and I was checking constantly online the
status of the shipment, on 21 of Dec 2010 in the morning I checked that
shipment is waiting for custom clearance, and as my pervious experience
in the delay for custom clearance, I rangUPS customer service center(on
131877), they told me that parcel has been arrived in Australia and
waiting for custom clearance, I told them that if the parcel cleared same
day afternoon I will pick up the parcel from your depot. In the
afternoon around 4:00PM I checked the web site and see that parcel has
been cleared from customs. So I rang the customer service again to find
out the opening hours of depot for the pick up, at that time I was told
goods has not been arrived in Australia yet.So I said the customer
service staff thatin the morning I was told that goods are arrived in
Australia, so who is given the correct information, the lady in the
morning or himself, he said he can only give the information what he saw
on the system and that is that shipment has not been arrived in
Australia yet. Then I spoke with his supervisor named Jason Pital, and
told him that since parcel has not arrived in Australia, I will not be
picking up the parcel myself so please arrange the delivery at the
original delivery address and that parcel is very urgent and please make
sure that driver do the delivery as early as possible, he promised me
to do so and to follow up himself
On 22 Dec 2010, I rang around 20 times to UPS customer service number,
all the times calls routed to their call center in Philippines or India, where every time I was given a different story.
Initially they told that delivery driver will deliver the goods between
9 AM to 5 PM.
When I asked them for various occasion for contact number for local
office so I can talk directly with person in-charge of the dept and find
out the right situation, they told me that there is no local number to
contact, I do not understand that a company registered in Australia and
doing business in Australia does have local address, does not have a
local number, however they promised me that some one will ring me from
the local deport / office, . I did received a call from a fake local
number just to listen to a lie that driver will deliver by 5:00 PM.
On various occasions when I was ringing the Call center 131877, I was
told different delivery hours from 9: 00 AM to 5:00Pm then it changed to
9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and then to 7:00 PM and finally they told me that
delivery can not happen on day, every one has promised me whole day,
just because delivery driver was failed to pass by my street.
Now I had day off from my work to receive this parcel because UPS can
not give any fix time from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so I have to wait whole
day at home for the delivery. But despite various calls and explaining to
UPS staff that time is money and they should make sure I received the
parcel on promised time frame, nothing has happens. Only thing I have
notice that UPS staff at call center are very professional in lying to
customers and given them wrong information and creating as much
frustration as possible for customers, We have used DHL and TNT in the
past so many times and never have any problem with them, we always able
to talk to local staff and they resolved any issues we have. This is
just UPS who act in this extremely unprofessional manner . The Staff of
the UPS has told me so many lies that it is hard to believeit is an
reputable company. Despite so many lies and false promises I m still
waiting for my shipment to be delivered.
Now I just told from my supplier that someone with the name of John has received the package and signed.
However there is no one named John live in my house and we have not seen anyone from UPS to us, so GOD knows where their driver delivered the goods.
On January 5, 2006 I sent a package that contained a ring to be sized from The UPS Store# 0484 to Jam Creations Repair Dept. The mailing cost was prepaid by the vendor and I attached the pre-printed mailing label to the package. That was the last time I saw my ring. I tracked my packages progress (TRACKING# 1Z 055 E81 [protected] 7) and apparently there was some delivery address complications. It was finally delivered to a different address that was obtained by UPS. On May 15, 2006 I sent an email to UPS requesting to enter a claim for the lost package. On May 16, 2006 I tried to submit a claim on the UPS website. I was told that a report cannot be initiated for this package on UPS.com because the origin or destination for the package is OUTSIDE THE US! The package was being sent to New York! On May 18, 2006 I called UPS and spoke with Aquita in the Investigations Dept. She told me that the address where the package was delivered was a part of JAM Creations. She then said that she would call the New York branch that delivered it and have them call me within half an hour. I never received a call from them.
UPS does NOT charge a DROP OFF fee if you drop off a prepaid package.
Phoenix Drugs in Leesville, LA, charged you the $1 drop off fee.
A lot of stores that allow you to drop off a UPS package are making you pay extra to do that and telling you it is a UPS fee.
UPS does not get any of that money. The store keeps it all.
Complain to Phoenix Drugs in Leesville, LA. They are ripping you off, not UPS.
mis-routed delivery - no accountability
I had a package that was scheduled for ground delivery on or before May 14, 2011. It shipped on May 6th and was accidentally mis-routed back to the shipping location on May 14th. The best that UPS says they can do is to ship it to me by May 20th. They say there's nothing they can do to correct their mistake - except to send me a letter of apology (after my request). If this is "customer service" - it's not what I expect. Any company that is not accountable for their mistakes, is headed for trouble. Meanwhile, the customers suffer and the company (and their employees) have no incentive for doing the job right. In the future, I will look for every way possible to avoid the use of UPS for shipping.
I've made mistakes - yes. But have been held accountable. Any business model or culture that lacks in customer service, accountability, and/or communication is destined to fail. I'll bet my bank account on that. Since it would be reasonable to expect that UPS would correct their mistake by shipping the package overnight to the correct address (the package weighs less than a pound), I believe I'm more than reasonable in expecting better service. Also, what I didn't mention was that a service agent told me earlier that they would correct the problem with an overnight delivery, but they didn't - and in following up, they said they couldn't. They've lost a customer, and will lose more, until they correct their business culture. United Parcel Stinks! We do have options.
irresponsible workers
I'm pissed with UPS service, I don't understand what was the point to pay more, if they have such a horrible service! I will never use their service again. I schedule late deliver after 3 p.m. on purpose went home early and guess what, the driver came in at 1:00 p.m. because he was at that area. I paid twice more for your company to do your job and if offer late deliver please do so. Second I called customer service she apologized and offer to pick up box at palatine which is 35 miles away, since i needed box as soon as it possible (my lenses i can't drive without them) i wen there, they told me i have to wait additional hour to receive my package. At 8:15 worker telling me that she doesn't know where's my package and they will re deliver, i asked what time and again "We can't guarantee deliver after 3
" I wasted my gas, my 3 hours of time and 1 hour 30 min on a way home for nothing! I was so mad but there is nothing you can do with those people!I had long day at work, i had to drive without leans, I had to spend another 40$ on gas to make this trip. will never use your service! I will re-sign my business and tell as many people as I can about your horrible service.
treatment of employees
I know of a female employee of UPS that has been there over 20 years. She has worked hard on her career and her education. Masters degree etc... She has also endured what seems to be standard UPS treatment. She has been sexually harrassed for years...###, crocth, etc etc grabbed. Once was held down by her manager trying to kiss and sexually assault her. Why did she not report all this? Its a shame she didn't but I guess she just did not want to rock the boat and hurt her career or that of anyone else. Stupid. Just stupid.
The stories are limitless in this women's sentence with UPS so I will fast forward to present. She currently is forced to travel aprrox 3hr daily commute to UPS in another town instead of one 25 minutes away. She has requested for years to be transferred to a facility closer to her home. Even though there are openings her requests have been denied. One response by upper management was laughter when she informed them she was pregnant with her first child and requested a shorter commute. Upper management laughed hysterically when they decided to then put her in a position that would put her at great risk as a 40 year old pregnant woman.
She is currently waking up at 4:30am then dropping baby off at daycare then baby is picked up at daycare 11.5 hours later to be baby sat until this 20 year plus UPS employee gets home no ealier than 9 pm. Mostly much later. She is failing in health and UPS is well aware and is trying to kill her.
Her fiance/father of baby works a few hours away and is also awaiting a transfer to her town.
If anyone at UPS reads this please try to take just a little more sensitive care of your employees. They are human beings and some have been loyal and dedicated their lives to the company.
It is vital to work with employees and not try to destroy them or harm them because if someone gets hurt there may be someone that will dedicate their life to hunting down all involved and their families.

wrong tracking information
UPS's package tracking website indicates delivery of a package at 12:24, 6.7.2011 to my address, leaving the package at my front door. I was working in my garage from 11:00 till 2:00 in the afternoon and no UPS truck was in my long driveway and no package was left at my door. I went to the UPS Customer Center in Tualatin expecting some help, the lady at the desk would not call the driver to see what he did with the package. She gave me a number to call 800-PICKUPS saying they would help me initiate an investigation to see what happened. I called the number and finally got a human being to talk to, she refused to initiate an investigation saying the shipper had to do that. Neither person was any help at all, both suggesting that I walk around my property to see if I could find where the package was hidden. Customer ser3vice with this company is a joke and non-existent.

delivery to neighbor policy?
The European policy, called UPS Terms and Conditions of Carriage, REV. 01/11, states that "UPS may deliver a shipment to ... neighbours of the receiver".
I have three questions about this.
Is this a recent revision or a long time policy? I've had several packages shipped to me with UPS before and they never been left with a neighbor if I wasn't home. The process has always been three delivery attempts, then the package is left at the distribution center for me to pick up. So is this a new policy? Or how do they decide between three attempts, or delivery to a neighbor? Can it be that they attempted to delivery my package to my neighbors on previous deliveries to me too, but that my neighbors also happened to be away on previous deliveries the same times I was away? So this was the first time one of my neighbors was home, and I wasn't home, when they attempted delivery?
Secondly, UPS only gave me the first name and the first letter of the last name of the person that received the package. Does UPS have any obligations beyond this to help me receive my package? For example give me the full name of the receiver, tell me the apartment number and adress of the receiver, or contact the receiver and ask them to give me the package if they don't give me the package, or refund me if the receiver has opened the package or stolen parts of the delivery?
Lastly, are there any delivery options that rule out neighbor delivery? The only option I've identified is Adult Signature Required combined with sender instructions to not leave your shipment with a neighbor[source]. Are there any other options?
I'm sad to say that I lost my UPS Standard® package to a neighbor, including possible sensitive information on the receipt such as credit card number or passwords. I filed a lost package claim with UPS, with the sender and with the payment service. In all cases the response is that they can't do anything since the UPS Terms and Conditions allow delivery to a neighbor. To me this means that I from now on have to get written confirmation from the sender beforehand that they will instruct UPS to not leave my package with a neighbor. Before I place the order in the online order form. Which means additional work.
Thank you for keeping your replies exceedingly parsimonious and to the point and without any fluff. Please cite sources for all stated facts, i.e. rules, regulations, code, policy or terms or conditions or other sources. Please keep the discussion to the European UPS policy only since their US terms and conditions is a different document.
PLEASE NO "UPS SUCKS" REPLIES THAT DOESN'T REALLY ADD ANYTHING! PLEASE PRETEND WE ARE IN A FORMAL SETTING!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
If you are not going to be home when UPS delivers, have the sender stick a HOLD FOR PICKUP label on the package. These are provided free by UPS to shippers. The RECEIVERS TELEPHONE number, your phone number, is written on the label.
The sender places this label it on the same side as the shipping label.
When it arrives at the distribution center, UPS calls the number on the label and lets you know it is there to pick up.
misdelivered package
I ordered a package and paid for UPS shipping and I mistakenly assumed UPS could deliver a package to the address listed on the package - MY address. With what Im sure amounts to millions of dollars spent on tracking packages, tracking delivery trucks, and tracking the drivers that deliver them, including global positioning satellites, scanners, etc. the one thing UPS neglected to do was spend money on training drivers to read the house numbers. My package, which contained irreplaceable and valuable family heirlooms was delivered to my next door neighbor's house. That might not sound as scary as it is, but in this day and age, many people do not even know their neighbor's names unless their mail is mistakenly delivered to their house, and I am one of them. Fortunately, she is a 92 year old woman who was born during the Age of Honesty when you did not keep things that did not belong to you, so she ambled over and delivered it herself. Ironically, and perhaps more to the point, the numbers to my house are painted in BIG WHITE numbers that can be seen from the street; whereas, my neighbor's house number is in black cursive and can barely be read from her porch, let alone the street. WORD TO THE WISE: when given a choice, pay extra for the confidence that you will receive the merchandise you paid for! PS: Please do not post replies that recommend insurance: I do not want to be financially compensated for a lost package with precious contents – I WANT what I ordered delivered, and if it is not too much to ask, delivered accurately.

UPS is allowed to deliver packages to neighbors when you do not answer. Next time you want a package, which contains irreplaceable and valuable family heirlooms delivered to you, be there.
shipment failure/refund
I had a letter delivery that had to be delivered within 24 hours to my son, a US Marine, stationed in CA. It was TIME SENSITIVE. The cost was $43.00 and it took 2 days to get there instead of overnight. I wrote to the customer service office in Atlanta, GA to ask for a refund because the shipment was guaranteed next day. The least they could have done was refunded me the difference for a 2 day delivery. Here's the kicker...UPS did call me and promised me a refund for their mistake and then never came through with the money. I even wrote a second time and never heard from them again. This failed delivery was in January of 2011. NEVER AGAIN will I rely on their shipments. The US Post Office is less than half that price and is located directly across the street that the UPS Service Center. Shame on them for not supporting our country's troops.

refuse to deliver package
UPS has a package of mine and they refuse to deliver it! I was out of the country for 3 months, I purchased mail forwarding and a mail box at one of those UPS mail box stores; they forwarded the package to me in country I was visiting. They then refused to deliver the package there and phoned me requesting my permission to have it returned to the USP store back in the States which I did. Instead of returning the package to the U.S. they kept it, considered it abandoned and they are holding it and refuse to send it to me or to the UPS store, crazy! I have no idea of where to turn for help, I sent a complaint to UPS, no answer what-so-ever.

ups driver and inconsiderate customer service
UPS is a company that I will never use again, first for the way there drivers opperate and second how there customer service operate. I was driving my friend home in a residentail neighborhood and there was a UPS truck and a school bus in front of me. The school bus leaves and the UPS truck starts moving forward so I followed, I wasn't tailgating, he slams on the brakes whips it into reverse and goes 20 mph into someones driveway, I was right behind him a foot away and he was inches from hitting my car. I was beeping like crazy he never stopped or evern acted like he did anything wrong. Then he leaves going 35 in a 20 mph zone. SO then I called to report this, it was so scary he almost totaled my car, and the woman on the phone was so inconsiderate, she had no pity and didn't even ask for the license plate number. I am in complete shock and I almost had a heart attack.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
It is a good thing you were not tailgating. UPS drivers are taught to back into driveways. They always signal first to indicate a turn, you might have missed that.
So he backs into a driveway and then immediately drives away? Did he stop to deliver anything?
How do you know he drove away 35 in a 20 mph zone? Did you follow him going 35 in a 20 mph zone?
Always give delivery drivers and vehicles plenty of room. Their job is tough enough as it is.
harrassment
As the wife of a 23 years veteran employee of UPS I am sick to death of the harrassment projected toward my husband every single time he requests a day off. He has selected the option to use one of his vacation weeks as sick days, and yet every time he asks to use one of his sick days he is harrassed by management about it. It is ridiculous. They act like the company will cease to function if he doesn't show up. I am sure they teach harrassment and bullying in their management training program. Even when I was at the hospital to give birth to our second child they wouldn't let him leave until they had someone to finish his route which was 5 hours later! Today he had a root canal and they want him to come in following the appointment even though he is on pain medication. Sure, we all want people on pain meds driving on our streets all day! Enough is enough!
Just venting, wasn't looking for judgement... Sheesh! UPS offers the option to use one week of vacation as sick days instead. Unfortunately they act like jerks when you actually try to use them. Turns out he did drive the 45 minutes to work after his root canal, was sent to look for a truck, and there were none available for him to use! They then decided to send him the 45 minutes back home! No pay for the hour he was there of course! Seems like they could have made sure there was a truck available before harassing him about coming in! By the way...he takes about 2 sick days each year and has 14 years of safe driving. Seems like he should be a valued employee!
LoveFist may be blunt but has hit the nail on the head! Paula I rarely feel the need to analyze someone such as yourself especially after reading only a few things you have written. Tell me if I get any of this correct please. You probably have no more than a 12th grade education and come from a family that has never had the need to attend a graduation ceremony anywhere more prestigious than a community college or trade school. Am I close yet? You sit around all day posting on the internet trying to sound intelligent but in all reality you are aware that you are of average IQ, all the while smoking two packs of cigarettes and drinking three sodas while you collect disability when you actually just don't feel like becoming gainfully employed. It does suck when you are not qualified for anything other than whatever restaurant, Piggly Wiggly or similar retail work that is in the Southeastern part of the U.S. and that's ok because the world needs unskilled labor at a higher rate than white collar workers, this economy sure is tough huh? If you are married, that is a big if, it is likely your 2nd or 3rd marriage to a blue collar Busch drinking kind of good ol' boy that has to work overtime because you don't feel the need to contribute financially and the double wide is just fine for now. How am I doing? I feel fairly confident in that I am close and I will tell you what gave you away. You have no earthly idea what the true difference is between a wage roll/hourly position and management and by management the terminal manger at UPS is actually probably envious of the hourly workers and that is because they have a union known as the Teamsters that negotiates the contracts for better pay than they really should get and take note that is what killed the U.S. auto industry, unions. The people that have to wear a jacket and tie to the office at the regional UPS office have to spend all year figuring what they can afford to give the union to avoid a labor strike that would be extremely bothersome to the boys at corporate headquarters and the board of directors who answer to the shareholders at the annual stockholder's meeting and don't forget the fellows at the brokerage firms that keep the stock flowing and the company coffers in a position to pay the guys that have not invested in an education and therefore have to toss the customers packages in yard when they get behind in the day. That is avoidable but the union has seen fit that the routes get bid on by seniority each year in the aforementioned yearly contract negotiation, that is called quid pro quo in the business world. Don't you think it would make more sense to have stayed with the old way of assigning routes that guys kept more than a year and as a result got to know that route so well that they could do the job correctly, safely and still get off at the usual whistle blowin'? Well this is a tough life for people that contribute to society but it is the American way. I am getting tired of typing my personality theory and if I sound like I am a condescending know it all than you have gotten that right today and you should reward yourself by going to KFC and gettin' a bucket of chicken and scarfing it down while you watch Phil tell it like it is to someone that you just know you could fix if only they could hear you through the television, but then you couldn't gnaw on that chicken could you. You earned it today! Pat yourself on the back and look around you and take stock of your current situation and tell yourself that one day I, Paula, will get the finer things in life too, P.S. The stuff you buy at Wal-Mart is not fine so maybe start looking at some high end merchandise on some web sites because I don't think they have too many luxury retailers in your neck of the woods. Yes, I am a complete ###. An educated one though.
ups are the lowest of low lifes running this company what ever they want to do most supervisor and mangerment are low life moving up the UPS food chain using there control for the personal satifaction this company prints rules but does'nt follow them if your a spouse of a UPS employee they will try to rip you or and your spouse OFF. BIG BROWN will make you hire a cut throat lawyers . NEW YORK spouse with no pension and no ups info. long island N.Y. your husband should get one of those spy pen camera and recorders and use it all the time tell no one and save it for the big day these people are not pro family dump your UPS stock every one cause this company will have thousand of suits comming SOON
"He has selected the option to use one of his vacation weeks as sick days"
vacation weeks are earned by being an employee for working a certain amount of years sick day vacation days whatever if it was earned then and they still wont let him take just one day off BS take that up with someone and especially making him wait to leave until someone covers him as your in labor wow heartless ### manager! those kind of people is why the world is the way it is
@ "Brenda" LoL! FistingLover is that you? Troll elsewhere -
@ LoveFistII - oh, and you HAVE been reported for abusive/violent language, jerk!
@"LoveFistII" - Interestingly enough, I'm wondering now why you skipped school today. As you should know, such stats are at least two to four years behind the actual date of publication because they take literally that long to compile, classify and verify! Gee... Sounds like your vocabulary is really limited, you flaming troll! Go troll elsewhere - you have no power here!
*Fun with numbers* This is a site that only states what the government will "allow" - not what is actually needed. For instance, would you include Parental Leave in your snarky assessment? Or, how about Parental Care for an Elderly parent? What about being hospitalized for all the stress-induced illness caused by confrontational managers? (High Blood Pressure and Heart Attack are on the rise, you know...) How about illnesses caused by working in "sick buildings" whose employees have no idea their lungs are being filled with mold, mildew and various other toxins that aren't being filtered out due to "deferred maintenance issues", (meaning the company doesn't really regard such repairs as "necessary"). How about THESE stats? And, yes, before you want to attack Parenthood and taking care of the child a parent is LEGALLY responsible for - just remember; if you have a "doctor's note" it's "supposed" to be "okay" to miss work... http://www.kansas.com/2010/12/21/1642374/the-average-number-of-sick-days.html
Have YOU ever worked for UPS, or any other form of delivery company where you're in the rain, the cold and the unbearable heat? No? Well, then, I suppose you can check out the stats for any medical site and find it out for yourself, (mainly because ANY site I give stats from you're going to automatically discredit on sight).
@TheLoveFist - trolling again? The average person is actually ill from verifiable diseases and/or physical ailments for about 12 days out of a 365 and 1/4 year - and given that UPS has to deliver in weather that most USPS people WON'T deliver in, (rain, snow, sleet AND dead of night); I'd say "five days" isn't high at all... What it is, more than likely, happens to be AGE DISCRIMINATION - because as we "all" know - the "older" the employee, the more "broken down" they're going to be when treated with the "disposable mentality" of "use 'em up and throw them away" by businesses today...
Is his direct manager/supervisor female? I think that may have something to do with it, perhaps...
damaged package/poor customer service
Two weeks ago UPS delivered two packages to my home-left them on the front steps ( worth about $700 ) even though I left a note saying take it to neighbours if no answer. Opened the boxes the next day, ( I work nights ) and found both items had been dropped/crushed. Called UPS to file claim after their on line claim system came up unavailable. I was told a file had been opened and would be picked up the next business day. Stayed home from work, called them at 5 PM and was told the packages would be picked up that day by 7 PM. No one ever showed. Called them just after 7 PM, was told a repeat request would be sent and they would contact me.
8:15 AM someone from the local distribution centre called me and stated they received an e-mail but as yet had not received a "pick ticket" but they would request one from their end. I should mention here that I contacted the shipper in the US and they have repeatedly requested the items be picked up as well.
A week later and still nothing. I sent UPS an e-mail asked what I had to do to get my claim processed and the items picked up. Received an e-mail at 4 PM the next day saying somebody from UPS would call me by 4:21 PM.
It's now 7:22 PM, no call and of course their call centre is now closed again.
I understand that ### happens, when you move that many packages a day the chances of something getting damaged are significant..but holy crap people ! When you screw up take some responsibility and FIX THE PROBLEM ! How many calls/e-mails do I need to make. Obviously they have been paid so they no longer give a dam. Their business plan must be to keep screwing you around and ignoring you in the hopes you will give up in frustration and go away. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. WILL NEVER USE UPS AGAIN.

Read full review of UPS and 2 commentsmisdelivery/fraud/identity theft
We recently sent a package to our accountant containing important tax records through UPS. They unilaterally changed the address from a business to a vacant apartment. They were lax in their efforts to try to recover the package. Now they tell us they can only reimburse us for the COST OF THE INK to reproduce those documents. They will not even refund the cost to send the package!
You may want to warn your audience NOT to use UPS for important documents. I was told that they regularly and often change the delivery addresses without contacting the sender or receiving party. Incidentally, both our phone numbers were on this package.
There may also be fraud involved here. When the receiver sees that documents are being sent to accounting firms, this is an opportunity for identity theft by purposely sending packages to vacant apartments/businesses where they can be intercepted.

How can UPS change the delivery address you put on the label? Did you require signature delivery confirmation for your important documents? If so, someone had to sign for it. If not then UPS will drop it of at the door of the address you sent it to. Was the address you put on wrong? Was is a type printed label or something you hand wrote that was illegible?
worse shipping company
Worse shipping company out there. Do not use! They destroy your items and then they don't own up to the damage, even when the ups driver states ups did the damage. Claims take forever, worst customer service no one has a clue what's going on. If you ship with ups freight your items will look like they dropped a car on it. Rates are not very good either. I have spoken with numerous companies who have similar problems with ups freight and I have recommended to hundreds not to use ups freight.

Hello,
My name is Dustin and I work with LTL Freight Shop. We are in the business of helping small to medium transactional shipper reduce their freight cost. We help many businesses and individuals ship items such as engines, furniture, auctioned items, printed goods and signs, machines, and many others. For the medium to larger volume shippers we offer a free web based system to be able to quote out carriers, book shipments, and trace them also. We guarantee to beat out other competitors quotes also. The only information that we need to quote out shipments is the zip code where it is being picked up and delivered, the description or commodity, the weight of the item, and the dimension and packaging of the item. If you would like to quote out a competitor and send us their price we will be more than happy to beat that price to earn the business. All we need is an opportunity to earn your business and LTL Freight Shop is here to help!
truck ran ovr our dog
A shipment arrived via a UPS truck that we ordered. Our 85 pound black Lab was outside at the time. When my wife heard the truck she went outside in order to see where the dog was. Unfortunately, the truck was resting on top the dog. My wife screamed and beat on the door to get the driver to move the truck. They lifted the dog into the car and rushed her to the vet. The dog died on the way to the vets. These drivers need to be more careful as we often see them driving by at high rates of speed. There needs to be a certain amount of responsibility when these drivers come onto a property. Hard to say what we will do but I thought I would let others know to be careful.. It has been a tough day.
Driver was backing up and you are correct, did not know he had hit her.
After making a complaint about a driver, they now are retaliating by saying we have a biting dog. Management refuses to verify and service has been stopped. Bunch of trash working there.
UPS driver's are careless cockroaches.
I've seen two different people ran over by the UPS driver's in the Salem, OR area. The driver's couldn't care less. They are back on the job the next day thanks to the union.
They are overpaid and careless.
I am stuck paying $40.00 a month and I dont get the magazines either. I am almost done with my payments and have been paying for almost two years. This DISGUSTS me, but I dont want collections on my back either. I feel so stupid for getting scammed and am so embarrassed that I cost my family so much money from such a horrible company.
I think most of you have waaaaaayyyyy too much time on your hands. Anyone that gets angry over a post like this is ridiculous!
am in agreement with all...got a post card in the mail...where do they get this information...i.e. name, mailing address, ect? Anyway figured it never hurts to have a backup in case of emergency so decided to check it out...cautious simply due to the way in which they offer credit...but website came up with alot of unwanted crap so decided to check out the complaints board and so glad I did...life's tough enough these days without having people out there taking advantage of people trying to start over and/or re-establish credit...we've made bad choices but it doesn't mean we're stupid...suggest everyone go on facebook, my space, twitter and every other social network known to man and make your comments to warn peole about unscrupulous companies such as this...guarantee it will put them out of business quickly enough. Thanks to all who are mad as hell and not going to take it anymore!
Well I hate to say it but what was your dog doing unsupervised. Its your fault not the trucks. Your dog should be on leash at all times when not in a fenced in area. I'm sorry for you loss but it nots ups fault.
I wknd still leaning towards Mellon in her point of view. And I would deffinatly hold the UPS driver accountable, with the information I have gotten so far. The owner should be compensated for the loss of his dog by UPS. And I'm sure it is in the best judgement of UPS to do so, to keep the client base that they have now. They would rather pay then have a team of pet owners come after them. I have a friend that deliverable for UPS, that agrees with me on this as well.
Does it really matter what some one said about your post. Grow up and get over it. Some of us were thought sympathy growing up, and deffinatly some were not. Every one has a reason for having their said opinion, your can not bash them or insult them to say what you want. This accident has already been reported and it is up to UPS to make the correct decision on what happens next. BTW UPS usually gives me a 6 hour gap of when they are coming, and are usually early or late. There is no way for us to have all the information on this situation, and will never come down to just one opinion. You guys can waste your time arguing over something that is out of your hands. My opinion is my own and no one will ever taint, bash, etc to make me change the way I feel.
I send my sympathy for the owner, as he did lose his pet.
What an unbelievable exchange. It was a dog. Yes, it could have been a kid or the President but it wasn't, it was just a dog. Yes, it should be reported as an accident. No, the driver will not loose his job unless he has some record of excessive unsafe conduct. Lastly, the initial references to speeding? The driver was backing up, just how fast do you think he got up to? It's about visibility in a giant brown box, not excessive speed. Speed can only be a factor, it's always down to control of the vehicle and, in this case, the driver didn't see the animal. Period.
worst customer service award goes to ups!
So I needed a package shipped next day, a car part - crucial to making a $6000 sale. I paid $50 to have it sent next day. They had the proper address and my cell phone number. I was told the time to expect the package by, and it required signature. I waited patiently and no package, not even a note on the mailbox. There was a note on another mail box from Canada Post, but all morning nothing from UPS. The next day when it didn't arrive again, I called customer service to track it. While I was on hold, I received an email from a previous employer dating back two years, that he had received my shipment. Odd? It was a good thing I am friends with this previous employer! I continued with my UPS call and they confirmed my package had been delivered to a different address then specified. The reason was that the delivered said he could not get in the building. Well the Canada Post delivery person did not seem to have a problem . I asked why they didn't call my cell phone - they asked me my cell number for a reason, you would think they would use it. "Oh. no" said my UPS customer service phone agent, "they don't carry cell phones." Are you kidding me? A phone seems like it would be a useful tool of a delivery person? I can think of a number of reasons they would need one! What if they vehicle breaks down even? So the third day after my package should have arrived, because I did pay for "next day", I went to the office of my previous employer and picked it up. They sent it there because the deliver is suppose to research any previous shipping addresses and use them as a last resort. Seriously, a phone call could have solved everything. So I spent hours on customer service and told my story repeatedly to about 6 or 7 UPS phone reps till one was finally the right person. I received a credit of $100 - good for only packages being shipped out. I don't ship out many packages, but coincidently had a couple I could use toward this - still under $100, but more than my original $50 next day cost. I did try to have some sort of reimbursement, but no go, so I agreed to the $100 credit - I didn't have much choice. Then I drove myself to the location of my package and picked it up myself. It's been a month and I had a $20 shipment to make that I could finally use toward the credit. I called the number given by the credit agent. I gave my case number to the UPS phone rep and she recognized my $100 credit. I told her that the woman who issued it said to call and a truck would be sent to pick up my package. She said "no, you have to go to the nearest UPS store and send it, then call us back with the receipt." Again, I don't ship things often, and went yesterday to the store and paid by VISA as I understood from my last phone call to UPS. Today I called with my receipt in hand, and was transferred a few times, same as before. I asked spoke to two management people who said that their rep misinformed, and basically I was SOL. I would not have sent this package had I not had the credit. I am out of work and could honestly have used that $22.62 toward food. I am still trying to resolve this issue, as I did what the UPS rep told me to do by going to the store. I don't see it being difficult to reimburse my VISA as proper customer service the $22.62, and apply it to my credit. UPS has made it a whole ### storm. My blood had finally stopped boiling from the $50 shipment issue and now I have another one. All they were going to do is add $20 credit to my $100 so it would now be $120 of UPS shipments, that I would not use by their expiry date. All I wanted is for the to subtract the $20 from the $100 so I would be left with roughly $80. Simple stuff.

how does any company remain in business with the so-called "performance' of these arrogant ignoramuses? I will hit 'em where it hurts, no business for any vendor who ships via UPS (Undelivered Pathetic Service Inc.).
Poor service from UPS Canada, waited the whole day for a pick up...no body turned back and at the end of the day when called the customer care to check the pickup status, they promised me a call back with a possible pick up time. For a small parcel I lost my one day earnings ...so sad UPS..it looks like UPS is only interested in big corporate houses. Then please withdraw from retail services. Can please some one let me know if I can make a representation about this cheating before any legal adjudicating agencies.
Wow sorry to hear this. I guess it all starts from inside the warehouse. because there is always total confusion with loaders, drivers and management its self. SO combining all these cause you to face such delays that are not called for. If I were you I wouldn't use this company again.
You know what? I worked with this company but she complained about the mistreatment the supervisor used to treat her Howard, Max and Cyril Iskra. These are bunch of DEMONS LIVING IN HELL. They never have value for women. They never stand on their word. They are driven by a bunch of people what ever these people do or say it will be a pass. Now just pity the new comers whom these supervisors put to off load trucks of very heavy items am talking about WOMEN doing heavy lifting yet there are men around enjoying the environment. Tell me if only this act wont let you get damaged or delayed items. UPS has to look into its methods of staff work.
They did this to me tones of times not buzzed and put door sign on package was delv no answer or what ever i was like what the hell? I was home. And I asked to sign a no sig req they refused to allow me to.
If it required a signature, why could UPS not get in the building? They did try first to deliver it to the correct address and no one was there to sign for the package. You paid for "next day" delivery, no one was there to let them in and they did what was required to complete the delivery "next day". If you live in an apartment with enclosed multiple mailboxes, the Postal service has access keys to get into the lobby to deliver mail. UPS does not have access keys. Is that the reason UPS could not get in?
destroyed package insured for 500.00 and havent paid me for it
In Oct 2010, I sent a retirement shadow box seachest to a fellow Chief Petty Officer in the Navy, I insured it for $500.00 and shipped to Washington state, tracking # 1ZW8434Y0334424845. When he received it he could tell by the condition of the shipping box that it had been destroyed. We followed all the claims process to get reimbursed for it and still to this day have not received anything. This retirement box was made of special wood from his grandfathers seachest, and contained a his fathers burial flag. It has been 5 months and I havent heard anything!
I had a terrible time with UPS about 20 years ago and have never used them since! This was before the internet and large file transfers were possible, and we had a magazine advert being published in Holland. We sent the negative by UPS to the magazine, but it never arrived and they couldn't trace it. We sent a second, which was also lost by them, so I had to get on a plane and take it there myself. This was at the same time they were running the ad campaign 'as sure as taking it there yourself'! I DID TAKE IT THERE MYSELF! And they wouldn't even refund the postage costs they charged me - even the Managing Director in the UK refused to discuss this, and they hid behind some legal garbage they managed to dig up about them not actually being responsible when things go wrong. I now deal with FedEx - wonderful people and when something goes wrong (which is rare with these chaps) they put their money where their mouth is. I think UPS stands for Unprofessional Parcel Service, does it not?
theft
I received my package with several items missing from the box. UPS claims that the items inside were damaged because of a broken bottle of luiquid and therefore removed unauthorized bottles of liquor; however they also removed other items which were said to have been damaged. This is not the case because there were also a paperback book and some cotton twine in the same package which were dry and did not smell. It is obvious that someone at UPS decided to use the excuse of damaged goods as a means to pilfer items in the shipment.
By exercised their right to remove the two bottles of liquor, they did not have a valid reason for stealing other items as well. UPS failed to follow their own procedure that they would return the remaining items to the shipper when they removed the discrepant items.
UPS = United pilfer service?

I was to receive my son's medication through UPS delivery this past Friday Jan 21, 2011. I had paid the pharmaceutical company extra for this expedited delivery. When I checked late Friday as not delivered yet, I saw UPS had changed delivery date to Monday 1/24/2011 due to "emergency". The "emergency" was not defined.
Since my autistic son depends on his medication and would have to go without the entire weekend with consequences, I called UPS customer service. They refused to even document my concern as a complaint. I at least wanted it documented. I also hoped maybe I could pick up the package since it couldn't be delivered but was never offered that as an option. I knew the local center would be open as I've picked up there in the past.
