store in corona on de la palma
Good morning, the vons in the shops at sycamore creek is about 7 years old. I remember when it was being built and when they had the grand opening. This store has gone down hill and its just not ok. You are one of the most expensive stores in the area and cant even stock a simple thing like milk on a daily basis. There are next to no employees in the entire store. Customers are getting so fed up that they are leaving their shopping carts in the isle and leaving to go do their grocery shopping someplace else. The employees are rude and act like we are bothering them if we ask a question. Last night was my final draw with this store and I refuse to go back. I went to the deli to purchase a roasted chicken. I looked at all of them they were dried and disgusting looking. The time that they were put out was listed as 1:15 pm it was not 6:05 pm. I asked the lady behind the counter if they were making any more chickens only to get a very smart a## remark back. She said no the case is full. I showed her that they all were old and she replied with a eye roll and said well I just got back from lunch so I dont know. I asked to speak with a manager one was not available but a supervisor did come up and apologize but that does not make up for normal items not being stock in the store, no staff, the store is filthily and disgusting. The meat counter is full of spoiled meat and the meat counter looks like it has not been cleaned since the store was open. John the store manager is no where to be found ever. His staff looks like they are being stretched to their limit. I saw one employee eating her lunch while working because the store was so under staffed and she had no one to cover her lunch. This is not ok. Im following up with the labor board and the health department because there are so many issues in this store that management and corporate is turning a blind eye too. I do not work for vons but I will not support a business in my neighborhood that is doing unlawful business practices. Im so tired of going to your store on a sunday night or a holiday to find your store under staffed, unstocked and dirty. Its really not that hard to ensure that your store is stocked correctly and staffed for business. You always have more clearance items in your store that real merchandise. You would find that the community would start shopping at your store again if you got your act together. Until then sycamore creek and horsetheif canyon residence will continue to shop at stater bros down the freeway where they do care about their customers, have their shelves stocked and have baggers to bag our groceries. Unlike your vons store. I really hope that your bonus check is worth all the business you are loosing and will continue to loose. Not only are you letting the community down, you are failing your employees and as a corporation you are showing your true horrible greed for money and giving nothing back in return including stocking your shelves. Vons you suck
Home delivery
Starting yesterday [protected]) and continuing today, I have been unable to place a grocery delivery order due to what is being reported to me as temporary unavailability due to maintenance. The software did accept a partial order, I think, but there has not been a confirming email so that's iffy. When I attempted to call the numbers listed on Vons website, both numbers there came back as not in service. Starting to use another delivery service, so we'll see how that goes. If it were not for the superior staff in the pharmacy there, I would never shop there again.
Wrong pricing
This is about the 6th time something was marked one way ans charged different. It was at the Midway Dr store in San Diego CA 92106. The product on the shelf looks like the right product that the tag is on but it must be different since it rings up different. This time it was shrimp that hat normal price of 26 something and yellow sale tag said $15 something. It rang up as $19 something...it's obvious that the people putting things on the shelves are not getting the right products there. I was already on my way out and checked my receipt since this is happening often. I then noticed that I had been overcharged in something I got with a raincheck. Checker gave me back $8 fir that error. If you combine it wuth the 3 or 4 mistake on the shrimp which I just took the loss on..that's about an $11 or $12 error on about a, $50 purchase...NOT GOOD. If this keeps happening I will go elsewhere and I'm starting to tell my friends yo check ALL Vons receipts because of this. This has been happening within the last 6 months. What happened?
Horrible customer service
My husband and I were at your vons in Torrance California on Crenshaw and lomita. Our cashiers name was Glenda I believe and she was horribly rude. Our card had been declined which in itself is embarrassing enough. We ended up having to put a few items back and she made several huge scenes infront of at least ten people marking sure everyone know how broke we were. First she announced loudly how the card didn't go through. Then we tried to leave the line so we could go out stuff back in the shelf and she yelled at us that we can't take the cart anywhere because our card was declined and we don't have money to pay for it. Then she made us go to the back of the line to figure out what we wanted to do. Again this was don't Infront of ten other customers. We were humiliated by what she did. Right after we left I called and talked to the manager and he didn't seem to care either. When I tried explaining what happened over the phone I could here him talking to someone else not even listening to the problem. I will never shop at another vons, pavilions, or Safeway again because of the lack of respect your employees have.
Wrong change
I am mariane castillo who is a visitor to US. I just went to vons store today january 6, 2017 to buy 2 items. One is good humor oreo which cost 4.99 and the other one is blistex blissful that is 2.49. It totals 7.67 where .19 is the tax. I gave 10$ and joan the cashier only gave me 2$. When she gave me 2$ I was already confused but was looking at the receipt since maybe I don't know how much tax is being put on it. So when I decided to check it now and computed everything, she lacked 33cents change. I know it is just 33cents lack but if she does that to many customers she would be getting so much money where she doesn't supposed to.
Blood in the egg yolks of 18 packs brown eggs, brand lucerne
Out of 18 eggs I was only able to use 9 eggs because of blood spots in each yolk of the lucerne 18 packs. They did not have any 18 packs with white eggs only the brown eggs where available on sale. Maybe it's this shipment but there should not be blood in the egg yolks unless there bad. I know your not in control of what is inside but the choice of availability is within your decision making. Will these eggs make me sick. I know jay the thought of the blood in the eggs had given me a headache and nauseous. I couldn't even finish my breakfast because I feel sick to my stomach. They should not be sold especially if there is that much blood in each egg and the yolks where solid. Something is wrong.
The entire store
I am fed up-the Vons in my neighborhood is the worst grocery store I have ever tried to shop at. It's completely mismanaged-inventory is always low, there are usually about 2 checkers on duty with lines of sometimes up to 20 people! Now they are telling me they are about to close self-checkout. The staff is rude and I have never seen a manager on the floor. I don't understand how they are even still in business. Every time I leave this store I am angry. There are several Ralph's in the neighborhood and I would much rather give them my business because they actually care about their customers.
I went in for a roll of packaging tape a week before Christmas. They don't even sell packaging tape. Seriously? Someone please send a competent manager to this location. It's completely unacceptable.

French bread.
I wanted to bring this to your attention because I am very dessapointed, about what happened yesterday! Vons has been my number 1 grocery store, but yesterday I had an incident with the French bread! I had a piece of bread and then two of my kids did too! When husband tried to cut slices of bread, he said he felt something hard inside the bread! There was a piece of cardboard inside the bread. 😡 I can't NOT believe that this happen at my favorite grocery store. I'm seriously very dessapointed, I have pictures from it.
Cashier/supervisor - poor service
Dear Vons,
This letter is months overdue. My wife and I have been long-time Vons customers but discontinued any shopping at your store since a most recent incident at your Northridge, CA store #[protected] Reseda Blvd). We live 2 blocks away and used to enjoy our walks to the store to purchase small items we could carry, especially wine from your selection.
Unfortunately we had a recent and confrontation with your evening supervisor, Yesenia Hernandez, purchasing a bottle of wine that left us very upset, thereby boycotting shopping there altogether, as well as any other Vons locations. My wife (35 years old at the time) had her ID with her but I had left mine at home (I'm 46). Miss Hernandez would not sell us the wine because I did not also have my ID on me. We asked her why she refused us the purchase and she stated that since she assumed I intended to drink the wine too, I needed ID present to purchase it as well. Obviously absurd, I asked her to show me where in Vons' by-laws that is written and she was unable to produce that for us and could only stick to her rules.
I understand retail stores reserve the right not to sell an item to a customer but there was no reason not to sell us the wine since one of us had our ID available. California law states clearly that in order to purchase alcohol from a retail store, a customer must have ID present. It does not state anywhere that all parties present while purchasing alcohol from a retail store must have ID. If the latter were the case, would Vons not sell me the wine if I have my 9-year old daughter present?
Although this incident happened about 6 months ago, it never sat well with us and continues to upset us every time we pass our neighborhood store with the poor service. We hope you reconsider your policies and abide by the law that was set up in California as it is written, rather than choosing to ratify it for no logical reason.
Should you wish to contact me for any further information, you can email me at [protected]@yahoo.com. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Scotty Lund
Litter box bags for my cat (johnny cat) from vons store number 2081
I live in Rancho Penasquitos .. the Vons I go to is off of black mountain road... for about a year I have asked for cat litter bags.. Two managers plus an employee promised to call
Me when they come in .. Only once this year this store had five or six boxes on the shelf! Since one shipment came in which was 8 months ago I haven't seen any more.. Again tonight I went to Vons and talked to two managers who were extremely rude! They were embarrassed because they knew they never called me and they most likely didn't order them! One of the managers named Gilman Evangelista gave me a hard time ! He told me they have a ton of other orders from people! I told him I have asked for these kitty littter bags for 4 months. He gave me a hard time and came up with every excuse in the book ! He was also extremely rude when I was respectful to him as well as the gentlemen who bagged my groceries! I was shocked ! I am disgusted with this store and the rude managers! My husband and I have spent thousands of dollars at Vons and we will now go to any other market!
I also have to tell you the other manager ran away when I was talking to her about the order!
Completely Unhappy, PS my receipt says STR Manager Giuseppe Gutierrez

Service
So I was sitting outside and wanted to smoke a cigarette as I surmised would be a long shopping trip. There was commotion at the door, apparently somebody had shopliffted. He came to me after the commotion and expressed his disdain for the manager, to which I replied "don't steal". A few minutes y y showed up at which point the manager at the Vons garnet Avenue at about 7:30 pm on Monday December 6th told the security I was kicked out and I was the shoplifters friend. I asked if he would talk to me and he quickly turned a shoulder and walked away. I was very upset and plead my case to the security guards (one of which I've known for at least two yearz) I said can I at least talk to him, he's mistaken. It took a while and with the help of an employee that was on his way home, I asked him to grab the manager. When the manager came out he immediately said that I was not allowed in there for a previous incident. I inquired what that was an he said "I had been caught doing meth in the restroom". I do not do drugs and find this highly offensive, I was merely finishing a cigarette before I went in to go grocery shopping. I would appreciate a response to this.
Sincerely,
Sean McNerney
Service
Cashier Eric was rude. Was really slow, never said hi or asked if I wanted to buy bags, just stood there with a blank face after he was done & never said how much was my total. Made the whole service feel awkward and uncomfortable. Then started cursing in front of the customers and looked at me like he didn't do anything wrong. Manager was "too busy"
Customer service
11/28/16 at 8:45 am- 12 customers waiting for one line. Checker did not call for assistance. No one at the front desk. No bagger. Sign says if 3 or more customers are in line, Von's will open another. Did not happen. Common occurrence.
Unaware of being able to upload photos but I will in the future to show you how these poor checkers and employees are treated! When it is a slow time, Von's takes away the staff so checker still have to work as hard if not harder than when it is busy. When it is busy they bring on the checkers but not always the baggers. Usually checkers do not have baggers. Customers usually bag since there is a long line and feel pressed to do so. Von's has cameras ~ check it out for yourselves.
Von's customers in Mammoth pay more for groceries than any other Von's and the customer service is worse. I don't believe it is the fault of the employees, I believe Von's Corporation is to blame - trying to make more money with less. Slave labor ~ Shame on you Von's!

Complaint against store, #2409 oakhurst california
Hello,
With regards to the above mentioned store. It is at this time I am submitting a complaint regarding some of the female staff. We have not shopped there for some time because every time I go in, I have an encounter with at least one women. You changed you opening hours to 5:00am and that's great, but it is near impossible to navigate the isles because your staff go out of their way to block the isles with pallets, and boxes denying access to merchandise. One day I went in and I had to physically move boxes to access an item. When I did the one girl there got belligerent, using foul language. I thought this store was for the public use and not the other way around. It has happened multiple times. The other times is with the checkers. A lot of times there were no checkers at the stands, and I would have to walk back and forth looking for someone to help me. Never are there any personal check out stands opened. A couple of times I went up and seen a light on at a check out counter, and after unloading all my groceries, this girl comes up and tolls me I am at the wrong counter. I had to put my stuff back in the cart and go to another stand. In the last year we have spent approximately $8, 615.59 across the street at the competition. We thought we try once more and went on Tuesday the 22nd this month. Over the years recently, we have found not to trust the people bagging our groceries because every time we would trust them, they would invariably lay the milk down on their sides so when we get home everything in the bag is soaked. They would put worm things with cold things (ice cream). So I bag my own groceries. Tuesday we get up to the check-stand. A gentleman approaches and starts to bag our groceries, I told him I would do that. He said something like, "Oh Yea Remember You, You Like Bagging Your Own" and went about his business. Now a women shows up and proceeded to tell me the same thing. I told her the same thing I told the guy, she immediately goes on the offensive and tells me in a rude voice, "Yes Or No" I simply told her go away. She immediately go over to another female employee and says something to her and they both start laughing like a couple of school kids. The store at that time was getting filled up with people. Enough people that would warrant employees to do something other than to put what they are there for to do in the first place then to have personal fun-time with each-other. I don't have any problems there with the guys. All I want to do is come in, shop, and get out of there. I don't want to play any games. So I guess it's back across the road to the competition. This has been going on for at least ten years. I don't believe this is an isolated incident, and I have to believe other people feel the same. This kind of subliminal behavior has to have co$t Von's over the years.
Thank You For Your Time
I have a complaint about Vons pharmacy. A year ago I tried filling a prescription that I had been filling for some time. I was told to get more signed paperwork from my Dr before they would fill it. I understand they are strick rules on pain meds so I went to Coarsegold pharmacy and had no problem. Today I decided to go back to Vons for convince I brought in a prescription for muscle relaxers. I had back surgery 13 days earlier and have been to ER twice since surgery. Yesterday I was given a muscle relaxer from the ER. Talked to Thelma and she refused to fill my prescription because I've started going somewhere else to fill my prescriptions, I asked her what did the have to do with anything. Then she put the pharmist on the phone, I think his name was Pham. He also said he would not fill it. I told him I was in pain, just had surgery and this was not acceptable. Then he said because I was taking two other prescriptions that may not go together, I told him I was not taking one of them anymore. Then he said, well the muscle relaxer was only for three days. I finally told him to forget it, I decided this wasn't worth an argument. Where does these two get off telling me what I can and cannot take when my Dr knows what meds I'm on and prescribes my meds. I was given two excuses why they would not fill my prescriptions. I will not be going back there again. This definitely needs to be addresses. I'm not the only one this has happened to. They have also delicated to my other family members the same way.
Thank you,
Carol Delude
Deli department - rude employee
Every time I go to the Deli Department I have to wait for more than 10 minutes for somebody to help me. There's never anybody outside at the counter. There's an employee there by the name of KAMALAH who is always rude with a horrible attitude. She treats you like she owns the place and she's doing you a favor.I reported her behavior several times but apparently the managers do nothing about it because this employee continues with the same attitude.
Delivery service and customer service
I am not 100 percent what is going on with customer service, between both the safeway stores and the VONS stores. I spend time on both coast and I spend a lot of money at your stores. I used to love Safeway and it has taken a nose dive lately, and well this last delivery with VONS was probably the straw that breaks the camels back. I posted the experience on facebook and was reassured that it was not only my having these issues. I can say that if the issue is deep seated and runs from coast to coast, the issue is with the leadership of the company. Customer service and excellence is a core value in many companies and this seems to have been lost in yours. I hope for the companies sake that you are able to fix your issues before companies like wegmans who focus on quality, price, and service take over your market. Once this happens it will be a slow and steady decline to demise. Customer service and excellence may cost a little more money, but the returns on this extra spend come back in the form of loyalty. Today between the call in customer service and the food delivery issue mixed with last weeks issue at the safeway store cost you a very loyal customer. I am sure as you look through my club cards you will see that I do spend a bit of money in your stores. Why do I bring this up, because if you got me to the point of actually complaining there are many others that are just going someplace else because they don't want to have to deal with it anymore.
Cash register service
At my local Vons in Torrance CA (Anza at Torrance Blvd) the checkers and management refuse to enforce any "Express LIne" rules. Yesterday for example (11/21/2016) I was trying to buy one item and their were two people with at least 20 items in the line. One allowed me to go in front. The other took a lot of time because she had at least 30 items and needed to write a check. I complained and the checker was quite smug and rude about saying "I don't refuse service to anyone." This means that inconsiderate people have an advantage over ones who follow the rules. The checker actually ridiculed me as I left the store and I heard their laughter. Very rude. I have previously spoken to the manager about this and was told that it was their standard policy NOT to enforce an "Express Line" rule.
Meat
Purchased a hermetically sealed corned beef brisket with an out date of Dec, 2016 ( a month from now). Purchased in late October, this was kept for later use in a consistent 35 degree F refrigerator. Darkened areas with bluish discoloration noted upon opening. Smelled like an autopsy.
Now 2 out of three meat purchases from this store were rotten meat (purchased a rotten steak from here last year).
Don't even think of buying any meat here.
Checkout line stopped for over 20 minutes, never could check out
Vons in Lomita/Torrance on Crenshaw.
A price check on turkey shut down the line in Lane 2 for over 20 minutes. I never could check out and had to march out of the store without any food, including $27 in Salmon, $20 in ham, and many other items.
This is not Russia and I taken my money elsewhere. This why no one cares Kmart soon will be gone.
Now you are on a boycott list for no service and wasting my time!
Not their fault their customer wasted your time.
Lemon dohnuts
Hi my name is Kody Shaffer, I'm an everyday paying customer at Von's in Santa Barbara on state st and la cumbre road, and every day I go in to get lemon filled dohnuts and you guys make the best lemon dohnuts I've ever had in my life. But this particular Von's has been very disrespectful towards me. They tried to move the dohnuts so I wouldn't find them and when they did that I still found them and bought them, but that was over a month period, now they take them off display until I leave and then put then back on display. I've been very nice to them I always show respect and I feel like this is very childish and really absurd of them to do this. I really have had it with vons, they have shown me that I shouldn't buy anything from them again. I hope you can get this sorted out soon cuz I'm just gonna keep writing these until some kind of change is made.
