Pharmacy
I'm complaining about the white lady, long hair that works in pharmacy. Initially when I drop off the med prescription. She asked for my phone number and told me it will be ready in 30 min. It was at4:30pm and I told her I will come back after dinner. It came back at 8 and she couldn't fill it bcz they didn't have the med at that location! She could of called me! Instead she had no interest of helping said I need to call another location. At that time, I had less than one hr until they close. luckily the location in Pasadena have the med. right away I drove there... But she made another mistake! She marked me in the system as already picked up med so I couldn't get it no matter what! did not answer my calls, kept putting me on hold. It is really unprofessional!
Manager
I have been shopping at the Vons on Windmill and Pecos in Henderson, NV for 20 years. Recently I have noticed a decrease in the quality of customer service under the manager named Angie. A few weeks ago I was in a line that was long and moving slowly. Angie came to relive the line. But instead of taking the next person in line, she chose people in the back. Very frustrating as a customer in line ahead of these people in the back. Then again tonight, I was in a line that was moving unbelievably slow. The checker actually made the line wait while a customer went out to her car for her ID. She should have suspended the transaction. Then the checker had to keep finding out if various meats were on sale and then had to use a calculator to determine the discount. The only other line open was also super long. I eventually went over to that long in and Angie the manager was ringing up customers. I expressed my frustrations to her but only got a "sorry". Angie needs better training in how to manage a store and keep the lines moving in a fair and productive manner. Thanks for accepting this complaint.

Understaffed
The past two days I was in Vons in Big Bear, they were very friendly but grossly understaffed. The one lady at the deli counter had three in line with large orders and the one helper had to take his break. I saw him and another clerk last night try to help when they were clocked out but stopped... Shows good work ethic by employees but poor staff appreciation by management to put them in an understaffed position. And as a customer I don't expect to wait 20 +minutes at the deli counter.
Assistant manager debbie/bakery dept.
Ordered a cake for my sons 5th birthday. The cake was not done like I asked. The filling was completely sugar. When i called back to complain i was told there is nothing we can do let me transfer you. I was transferred multiple times by this time i was very upset. When the manager finally decided to speak to me in the middle of telling her my issue she says "oh one second" and proceeds to speak to an employee and when she returns says "you were saying".. I work in retail myself. I know how to treat an upset customer. This is by far the worst experience ive had. I will not refer my friends and family to Vons. I will make sure they know the type of customer service here.
Unethical behavior & overcharge of items
This is about the Vons store at 710 Broadway, Santa Monica, CA 90401. Receipt ref# [protected], 3/27/17 at 14:52. This is 2 complaints for this same time/receipt. 1) overcharge of item. 2) unethical behavior by an employee of Vons
Complaint 1) Item, Vaseline Intensive Care lotion was on the shelf with a sale price on it as $4.49. When we paid at the register we were charged $7.99. I complained to a store employee who sent another staff member to check the shelf. My boyfriend went with the staff member to check. When he returned the women employee who had sent him argued with both her staff member and us as to the validity of the sale. The staff member she was arguing with clearly explained that we were correct, it had the sale ticket there. The woman employee yelled at him in front of us, as if he was a child, saying he doesn't know what he's doing etc etc. Then she turned to my boyfriend and yelled at him saying she would honor it this time but that it's "not the way this works"
We don't care the way it works for her. You put an item on the shelf, list it as on sale, then overcharge us, not our problem. This happens 50% of the time I shop at Vons. I am constantly being overcharged, $1, $2, $3 dollars over. Sometimes I don't notice till I get home, this time I noticed in the store.
When the woman finally did credit me for the mistake, she only credited me for the price at $4.99 not $4.49. But at that point, we had waited for so long to resolve this we had to go back to work.
Complaint 2) Not only was that woman employee extremely rude to her staff member, and us, there was a gentleman in a wheelchair waiting for her help. I witnessed him ask her for help three times and she was so rude to him. She told him he had to wait and that she couldn't help him. Then when another staff member from the Starbucks bar, came to ask this woman employee for her help, she pointed to the man in the wheelchair and said she couldn't help cause she was helping him. I witnessed her do this over and over again - refused to actually help him but use him as a way to avoid doing work. It was despicable.
The gentleman in the wheelchair was clearly mentally impaired. He wasn't a vagrant, I spoke to him. Turns out he was a Veteran who had two Vons gift cards. The cashiers wouldn't help him and sent him to this woman, then she wouldn't help him either. Is this how Vons and Safeway treat US Veterans?
As stated before, I have had a serial problem with Vons overcharging me for items they list as sales items, then when you get to the cash register I am overcharged -- and it's not that I picked the wrong item off the shelf, I picked the item marked sales item, that should have given me a sales price. If I added up how many times this happens I'd probably easily be overcharged by Vons a few hundred dollars a year.
This last episode has prompted me to take my business elsewhere. I've slowly been changing my shopping habits in favor of Trader Joe's. Vons is more convenient for me, but I'm tired of the practices of this company.
So angry. Same thing happened to me today. I always knew what they are doing but never spend time to catch them. Until today when the cashier hand me a funny receipt, almost noting printed on it. Asked her what is this? She tells me sorry the register doesn't work. I insist for a readable copy. The supervisor sent a lady to bring me one. After 45 minutes waste the supervisor decided to run my items in training mode on anoder register. The reason I went true that hassle was because I bought bacon that was on sale from $ 6.99 to $ 4.99. When the first cashier was scanning I noticed on the screen showed $ 5.99. Any how I ask the supervisor why didn't I get the sale price. He told me it's not on sale. Very very funny. Let's walk there I ask. Well well well he was surprised. Sorry he said. I got my $4 refund for four bacon plus $5. Am I going back to Von's again. No No No not just because one incident. I knew this was happening previously. Von's store in Palmdale, Ca on corner of Rancho vista and 30th st west.
Supervisor name I believe was william
About 2 weeks ago I went in Vons on Ming Ave. After buying groceries and went home I realized the Cashier charged me the wrong price for my Hess Wine. Week back next day with receipt went to customer service. Spoke with young girl, did not know her. She went and got William(Supervisor) he went on to explained it was the right price for that particular wine. I tried to explain I have shopped at the store for over four years. There was not other color of Hess wine showing, so I purchased 6 bottles of the white label wine.
William said I was return what I bought and get the other wine. I have never been so embarrassed in front of everyone. I just left.
I have always felt like the workers here were part of my family. I was wrong.
Feeling very sad. This is only employee with long unruly hair.
By one package of chicken, get one free. Product in package was not what was noted on the label.
About Mar. 1, 2017, I selected one package labeled thigh and the other labeled breast, bone in. Lower priced being free. When I opened the packages to bake them, the thigh was one leg/thigh attached. and the other package was six wings, no breasts at all. All chicken pieces were seasoned.
The receipt was disposed of in the trash, but the price on the thigh/leg was $2.15 and the price on the packaged labeled breast with 6 wings instead of breast was labeled $1.84.
Since the wings are already in the oven, I won't ask for an actual breast, but suggest that whomever packages these products list exactly what the customer will discover when viewing the contents.
An employee
This complaint is against an employee at the Vons on Atlantic blvd in Long Beach, ca. First time was a couple of months ago Jessica was my cashier she was rude and talking bad about her job to the customers. Yesterday 3/20/17 night I had a really bad experience. She was talking about the customers that were in line loud enough for the customers to hear. The customers had left their groceries in their hand baskets and put them on the conveyer belt and Jessica(bagging) was talking to the cashier telling her that she was way to nice and that if she was the cashier she would have made them put back the groceries and put the basket away. Beyond rude! Considering they can hear everything she's saying. She even felt like saying because of them that's the reason why our world is ###! I'm not one to go out of my way to complain but this was not right and I feel like she has deeper issues! I honestly rather drive to Ralph's which is a lot further from me then Vons. I've always had a bad experience whenever Jessica is working. Never felt welcomed. What a bummer.
Check out lines at von's in mammoth lakes
The check out lines in Mammoth Lakes are ridiculous! I grew up in Mammoth and the lines used to be bad during the Holidays, totally understandable, but now it's every day! It's Sunday afternoon when the weekend rush is gone, and I'm standing in the longest line I've ever been in. I came in at 3:00 on a Wednesday last week and it was still unreasonably long. I've started ordering a lot of food online and will have to figure out how to order everything online unless Von's figures this out. People are walking into your store, seeing the line, and walking out. If I wasn't buying something for someone else, I'd leave myself. Hire some more people and treat them well enough, so they'll stay.
Customer service
Sunday afternoon and there are at least 4 people in line at each register. A woman in front is taking her time asking about prices of lollipops. The checkout clerk provides the information and continues to have a casual conversation. All of the people behind me proceed to go to other checkout lines. I removed my items from the conveyor and the clerk stares at me as if I am an alien, no acknowledgement, no apology or mention as to whether she would be done chatting soon. Terrible customer service and I believe she was the manager. A customer in another line said, "I can't believe you had to wait that long", so I'm not the only one that thought this was unprofessional. Get it together.
Poor service; 5-6 people in all 5 open cashiers
[protected] about 6:45 p.m. After standing in line to check out, an employee came up to me and told me that she was closing the line after the woman in front of me. So I would have to get out of the line I was standing in and go to the end of another line. There were 5 or more people in every line and only 5 cashiers were open. I decided to not make my purchase and left the items for restocking. Your customer service sucks. Your employees act as if I am putting them out by shopping at the store. This attitude is not a one time event. This is standard operating procedure. I now look to shop elsewhere whenever possible as I do not appreciate the negative attitudes of you employees. I do not want any resolution to this matter as I do not see the mentality changing.
Lucerne cheese
I recently bought a 2 pound block of Lucerne Motzerella cheese. The product went moldy inside the unopened packaging, 2 months prior to the expiration date.
I took the cheese to customer service and they refused to help me, but took the cheese.
I find this to be outrageous and unacceptable. I would appreciate vons to resolve this issue for me. All I ask is that they exchange the moldy cheese for a good one.
General lack of basic skills in von's store on the mesa in santa barbara, ca
I went shopping this morning at our local Vons store. I have been patronizing that supermarket in all its iterations: Luckies, Albertsons, Hagans and now Vons. I was looking for biscotti, which the store has had in the past. I asked two checkout clerks. They reacted as if I was speaking another language (I actually was because biscotti is the Italian plural for biscuit :-)). Neither one knew anything about biscotti although (1) they both have been at the store since it opened, and (2) I have bought Nonni's biscotti there in the not too distant past. So another employee tried to help. There was no biscotti of any kind in the store. He offered to take my name and number and let me know what he could do. He asked me if I'd buy a box of them if they arrived that way. Are you kidding? Must be at least a dozen packages in a box and these are items that can go stale.
Anyway to the check out. I wait in line and then another employee says to come to an open register (only one was operating in the whole supermarket at the time). He has no affect. No smile. Barely makes eye contact. He checks me out. I bag despite the fact that a bagger is nearby and just doing nothing.
My blueberries slip out of my bag and cover the floor between two registers.
My checker says "Go get another one." Not "Sorry that happened." Not a word to empathize. He then comes out behind the counter and starts picking up the blueberries by hand. Two others join him. After all the berries are picked up, the bagger comes forward with a broom and pan.
I left this morning feeling very upset. I felt I was treated like a thing, not a person. I felt as if there was some negativity in the air, pervading the whole store.
Too bad. This is not the way to retain a customer. I will go where they sell biscotti and smile.
Bakery/special order cake
I am very displeased with the staff in the bakery. Every single time I go to the bakery, they see me standing there (they make eye contact with me) but dont offer me assistance right away. They'll just keep bagging bread or whatever. After I wait a few minutes and say excuse me, they still take their sweet time. I am a busy woman and my time is definitely limited. They arent pleasant to interact with either, especially the older blond woman who scowls all day. Her and the thin man working there are the worst. I ordered a cake for my sons birthday and he wrote a half sheet instead of a quarter sheet, although he repeated quarter sheet back to me. I didn't realize until I got to the party and it was obviously too late. Last year they forgot to make my sons birthday cake altogether, in which the manager said "there's nothing I can do for you since you didn't pay for it yet." I am tired of the general lousy customer service but bakery and deli are definitely the worst. Thanks for your time.
Unacceptable supervisor behavior
Visited the deli department which I do weekly and always have a pleasant experience with all the ladies until yesterday 02/26/17 when a supervisor starting reprimanding an employee in front of several of your customers which all of us heard. I spoke up and told her not here please in front of vons customers and she just rolled her eyes at me. When the supervisor left I apologized to the ladies for the unprofessional supervisor and was told that is the way it is all the time. How can your employees be expected to treat your customers like they care when the are treated with such disrespect by supervisors. The ladies in the deli work very hard and I believe if there was a better work environment and more positive encouragement vons would most likely have a larger clientele.
Facilities, service, selection
The Vons grocery in my neighborhood on Fair Oaks in Pasadena is woefully subpar. The produce is frequently awful. The store it's self is in bad need of upgrading. The checkout counter never has more than two people working. Plus the selection of food pales in comparison to the other two Vons in Pasadena. Those stores are nice, why is ours when it is in the same city so underserved? It is crowded all the time, it's not like it isn't making money.
Nasty customer service
Just went to my local Vons where i have been shopping for years. The clerk, Robyn, overcharged me at 3.99 for red dandelion greens while the shelf price for the green type, which i was buying, was 2.24 per bunch, as verified by the checkout clerk. Robyn said that what the computer system showed was the price...but it was wrong, because the shelf said they were supposed to be 2.24. She blamed me when my punchedin phone number didnt work...a number i have used for 8 years! She gave me a new card to call and said i wasnt listening, then said she was giving me the dandelion greens for free because the shelfposted price was incorrect...then i found when i got home that she hadcharged me 3.38 for "2 quantity house food" whatever that was...nothing i bought as far as i can tell. I had three bananas...she charged me for the one then gave the other two to the people behind me saying they were theirs. So i got home with only one banana andi feel treated very badly. About every third visit, i am overchargedfor something at that store. This time the clerk treated me badly too. I will try to avoid Vons i guess. Too bad as i have beenacustomerfor decades!
Unethical behaviour
To whom it may concern.
Yesterday Monday 01/30/17 I went grocery shopping in your Burbank store. I regularly do my shopping in this store as it is right by my house. However on about 7 occasions in the past couple of months when I am buying alcohol I come into a bit of confusion with your staff when handing over my Irish drivers licence picture ID. I am always greeted with rudeness from your staff and a 'power trip' attitude stating they cannot accept any form of ID other than a CA licence or a passport and that's that! This then leads to me speaking with the store manager as I will not carry my passport with me grocery shopping, this is outrageous to ask and I do not have a CA license as I am not from CA. When voicing the disappointment and embarrassment I am caused to the store manager, every time without fail they apologise profusely and let me know the employees should be aware an International picture licence is more than acceptable, and we then move on.
However Yesterday Monday 01/30/17 I was absolutely appalled by the way I was treated in front of other customers by your employee and one of your managers KAREN D (not the store manager, who usually resolves the situation, Karen informed me there was no Store manager on that day) I was asked (as usual) by your cashier for my ID, I showed my Irish ID (as usual) and was told in a very abrupt manner 'I cannot accept this ID' I replied with 'Well actually yes you can, in fact your store manger MERCY who I spoke with last time told me all I need to do is show you where my DOB is on the ID and assure you she said it is a valid means of ID'.
Your employee then, to my shock, put her hand up in front of my face and told me to stop what I was saying! I was speechless I had just been treated this way in front of other customers by an employee of yours. I then asked 'May I speak with your manager please" and the response I got was disgraceful 'No, I don't have to get the manager if I don't want to!' Again this shocked me even more as it is my right as a customer to speak with a manager of any store if I wish!
So I repeated my question and asked could I speak with the manager please.
Over comes KAREN D who from the get go was carrying a rude and not willing-to-listen demeanor. I told her I would like to speak with the store manger as I have dealt with a few different ones in this store every time this happens and they are more than helpful! However KAREN D was not willing to hear what I was saying and said 'If I don't want to accept your ID I don't have to. You should bring your passport with you! I will not serve you!' Again, I repeat, I should not have to bring my passport with me grocery shopping when I have a perfectly good photo ID with me. To say she was rude and unhelpful and most definitely on a power trip along with her employee who was serving me, is an understatement. I had to leave my food and the bottle of wine behind me in utter embarrassment as this all took place right in front of the whole store of customers.
I will never be shopping in any of your stores again and took my business straight away to Ralf's where there wasn't even a question asked when showing my ID. I would appreciate a response from you as soon as possible as I don't want to have to take this to social media (in which I have a large following ) if I don't!
Thank you
Pharmacy
I hate to complain about a pharmacy, especially cuz I was a pharmacy technician, but this pharmacy always has something wrong with my prescriptions! The wait time is always ridiculous! I call to check on the medicines I need and it's over an hour wait time everytime and that's at least 2 hours after it's been called in! They never call to let you know something is wrong, such as a medicine not being in stock or further verification with the doctor, or not even the fact that it is ready! They never apologize either or try to make up for it with nice customer service, all of them look like they don't want to be there! Pharmacists stay behind their stations and hardly interact with patient's picking up meds. I know by law it's mandatory to consult on New RX's and the cashier's just ask if you've taken the medication before or sometimes don't say anything at all except hand you the medication that they finally have filled after waiting hours for! I called to complain and the girl just explained to me they only prioritize prescriptions that patient's call to check in for, but I always have called and they give the same wait time! I know there's a process of filling prescriptions, but they have zero customer service or courtesy! My kids would've went all night without their meds today, had I not called 3 times to double check anyways despite them telling me they didn't have anything. I threatened to complain, I get put on hold, and suddenly they are sorry because my prescriptions are actually ready! After today, I'm transferring out.
Pharmacy
VONS pharmacist Erin & technician Kathleen have been consistently
knowledgeable, sincere, and honest when ever I ask for any information.
over the last three years or maybe longer. I didn't even buy anything and
still Erin with a health sense of humor, was greatly helpful.
any employer would
benefit from havening either of theses two working for them
