Hes not clean he was eating his lunch at the counter sucked flavor off his hands and didnt wash his hands! While I was waiting for him to get off his phone he had a major attitude. I will not purchase if hes the one "helping costumers". To top it he apologized and said I was so beautiful to make it up to me can he take me out for lunch or coffee.. Told him im married and had the guts to say, "oh well coming here with no ring is asking for it" haha no vons in lake isabella needs some work. Start by making us "costumer's" comfortable in our small town I say "our" cause he said himself he just moved up here. Hhheeeeellllpppp! Kern vally please.
Not enough checkers always!! Worst vons ever! Please help!!
Hello, not happy! this vons has been mismanaged since albertson's closed over 2 years ago. Corporate really should get involved and fix this store once and for all.
Sorry to offend those reading this and helping solve this but maybe you will feel my pain because i am going to use caps. Well, I tried! Please forward this to your supervisor, managers and all the way to the CEO!
i'm sure this is not the first complaint about this store. Nor will it be the last until someone takes action! do you hear me! pay attention and put some effort into solving this stores personnel and scheduling problems. Tonights schedule! only 3 checkers, are you serious! even your workers are appalled.
I walked out leaving my basket full of my groceries.
I felt so sorry for the young man trying to buy some dinner tonight. Only 1 item to purchase. He walked out also and went to wendy across the street because he could not wait 25 minutes to buy his chicken.

Delivery
I have been a loyal customer using home delivery as I am disabled. But I am thinking it is pointless to use the service. Today 7 items I was charged for did not make it to my home. I called customer service and was told that those items could not be delivered as they did not total $50. I had just spent over $100 but they would not deliver the items they forgot?! What is the point of having delivery if you have to figure out a way to get to the store to get the items that were forgotten or given to another customer?
Deli section
You have the meal deals where you can get either fried or grilled chicken with two specific sides. But in writing below the menu it says substitutions available upon request. So I order meal #1 but instead of coleslaw I asked if I could swap it out for Cesar salad, she told me no even though the sign says substitutions available upon request. I had to get a supervisor, only then but the older woman behind the counter was still being combative and so was the Latin dude, he said that common sense should have told me that I couldn't swap out the coleslaw for another salad. I come here often on my lunch breaks, and I just want to have a good lunch. All of this happened on 6/12/2017 around 12:20 ish. Never coming back those workers in the Vons on Broadway in Long Beach are rude 😡

ok, I dont work at vons but a loved one of mine does and I tell you I hate that vons can make my loved one so depressed and comes home saying shes gonna [censored]. Shes been there 4 years and knows exactly what needs to be done. The manager carissa changes other department manager's schedule. There was a fine group back in the deli but since they hangout outside of work they are to close and "cant work togather." but im telling you the last manager was on their team and things were running smooth. They split them up.
They were a team back there. Like sports team just winning.
Now my loved one has to ask for overtime because they took her team away. theres people there who are lazy and she has to pick up after them cause she thankful for her job. Then gets chewed out for getting over time by carrissa the next day she crys everyday. I watch alot of under cover boss and they dont like when their business dont have that family/teamwork and communication bond.

Yes these girls are replaceable but if you want your store loved in this town then talk to carissa lake isabella vons tell her we need to work as a team. We need positive energy's flowing.
Your loosing money from what my loved one understands due to her iresponsible changes. The deli here makes more food then some kfcs and kfc never just has 1 person behind the counter they got a team gettin it done now you dont got to worry about giving overtime.

Expired goods on shelf at vons in the marketplace (bakersfield)
On 05/28/17, I shopped at the Vons Marketplace (Bakersfield) store and bought Forager Nuts & Vanilla Dairy-free Nutmilk Shake. I opened one today (5/28/17) to drink one. After drinking half the bottle, I realized the product was expired for a month! I didn't check the expiration date because there is a law prohibiting Vons from selling expiring goods so I assumed the company was in compliance.
I threw away my receipt today when I put everything in the fridge. I thought about 9 or 10 Foreger products. I want a refund for my purchase and replacement products sent to me. I specifically went to this Vons because Forager's website said it sold it's drinks.
I am worried I am going to get sick for drinking expired the Nutmilk shake. If I get sick, I will be contacting Vons on a more serious matter.
Steaks
I purchased a package of steaks on sale (about 12.00$) from your sunland /tujunga vons last nite that were every thing awful! I normally just "suck it up" when I'm not satisfied with a purchase and not buy that unsatisfying item again, but these were beyond horrible. Something that normally would be trivial, was devastating to me. I cooked your steaks for my mother in law last nite and was embarrassed to the fullest. Check out long lines
I have a complaint about Vons store #2352 located at 6155 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego. I do not understand why there always only 2 full check out lanes open. On May 26th 2017, there were check only lanes open. Lanes 1 and 4 were open. The lines were down the aisles. This has happened every time I shop at this Vons. I asked one of the employees why does this always happens. I was told this store is not making a lot of money. I have gone to other Vons stores and there are 4 or more lanes open. Also there used to be 6 self check out lanes and now there are only 4 lanes due to more display space. I am thinking about going to Ralph's supermarket or Food for less. I live very close to store #2352 but, this has been going on a very long time. I am very frustrated now and tired of waiting line for over 15 m I nutes. The self check out lines have a long wait also. Friday, May 26th 2017 was Memorial weekend. The manager is hardly ever around. I used to be a customer service supervisor and customer satisfaction is the number thing to keep customers coming back. I have serious doubts if anything will be done.
Deli - inability to reach store management!
On 05/23/17 17:56 hrs I entered your Santa Monica Store to acquire a few items from the deli, specifically selected items D&W eye of round, sliced buffalo chicken breast and chipotle gouda and a few JOJO potato wedges. There were only 2 employees in the deli and the gentleman who finally assisted me first said he was very busy and needed to clean the back so could I make this prompt - so I first asked for the d&W eye of round, thinly sliced I was quickly give the ends and they were thick and didn't appear very delectable, I asked for 4 slices of the buffalo chicken breast I was told that there was none in the case and he was to busy to retrieve another so i requested regular chicken breast, which turned out to be honey ham once I partook after the purchase, luckily I was not satisfied and did not eat more as I am allergic to honey, but I had a benadryl capsule I immediately took. This kept me from getting ill or worse. After the so called chicken was sliced he asked if i was done because his time was running out, I informed him I still wanted a few slices of the Gouda I asked for 3 slices I received only 2 very broken slices. I did not even bother him concerning the potato wedges. He quickly left me and wrapped the meat and cheese and proceeded to the rear of the deli dept. There fore I asked the lady if she would give me a few wedges and she did, yet I felt uncomfortable. I asked if she wouldn't mind slicing me a few better pieces of the eye of round, she replied 'what is wrong with the ones you have"? I just decided to leave it be. I attempted to call the store for two days straight to make this know to the management but the hold time was far to great for me and today around 16:57hrs and again put on hold after being told the store manager was not available only a supervisor who never collected my call.
The wedges I consumed and a portion of the cheese, unfortunately the eye of round was a waste and the so called chicken that turned out to be honey ham all met their end in the waste basket.
I would usually let an issue like this be discarded, but I almost fell into an illness and the service that transpired was just dreadful. That includes contacting the management.
I am not asking for a refund - but please ensure me this will not happen again to another long term Vons customer such a myself.
Out of frustration I gave my mother her Vons card back. How this is handled will determine my return.

Employee blocking door 5 minutes before closing
I arrived at the Vons Traffic Circle entrance at exactly 1:55 a.m. A night crew employee as I know as "Big Rick" was holding the automatic entry door closed by his fully extended right arm. I asked why I couldn't enter. His 1st response was that a bad credit card customer was holding up the line up and I won't make it in time. I explained that I'm already here and just need a couple of things. He then preceded to proclaim about the amount of theft within the liquor department. That was his 2nd excuse for not letting me enter, the whole time he is announcing as 1:56 happens... 1:57 now. He is literally teasing me! At that time, I tried to explain to him that I am a regular customer, always pay, never steal, in fact have stopped stealing of liquor more than once.
I began recording video at this point and nothing ever changed. He let customers out, but didn't let me in. Your corporate H.R. Manager will review every angle of this incident, but only I hold the audio and face to face footage.
I attempted to explain to him that it's before closing and I need a single ingredient, my footage is time stamped and I panned multiple times to the hours sign on the window... your footage will concur.
I believe this to be discrimination.
I then crossed the street and explained to my neighbors what happened and they shared similar issues of very recent.
When I returned inside to my home, I decided to call the store to speak with a manger. Someone answered rather quickly, explained that there is no manager on shift. I asked if there was a key carrier and the response was the same.
In conclusion, I pointed out numerous times, and was mockingly pointed back at me, what time it was currently and what time the store closes. Is this what I should expect? Ralph's is 1 block away! Your employee pre-judged me for trying to buy alcohol when I just needed milk, which if I wanted to buy alcohol, shouldn't I at least have a chance? But 5 minutes before closing is too late to buy a gallon of milk? Or was I profiled? I tried to explain standards of entering before closing and having respect for those who work... make it quick. Still, nothing but aggression.
I would love for you to see this 4 minute video, but I think I should step back and get advisement.

Lines at checkout
These photos says it all! I thought "3 was a crowd?" There were 2 lines open, one being 15 items or less line. There was around 35 people in line, at the more than 15 items line. Really? We asked the manager if they were planning to open another line, she said the were low in staff and couldn't open another one. I had 4 items and it took 25 minutes to arrive at check out. This is horrible!
Vons in Gardena CA need more staffing and another manager if they don't know how to manage staff scheduling.
Customer service
today i shopped at vons on 63rd and el cajon blvd in san diego. When we reached the checkout the girl asked us if we wanted to bag our own groceries. If I wanted to bag my own groceries I would shop at Food for less. I find it highly offensive that you now charge for bags and you want me to bag my own groceries. You guys are going to lose a lot of customers over this horrible customer service.
Horrible service at Vons
Von's truck - reckless driver
On April 5th or 12th I passed the Von's on Del Mar Heights Road in Del Mar, CA between 2-5pm . The Von's truck was stopped at a westbound red light as I passed it on the left. As I passed, the light turned green and he put his right blinker on to make a right turn into the Von's lot and suddenly swerved his cab into my lane inches away from hitting my car. I beeped my horn to let him know I was there and he aggressively sounded the truck horn at me.
Junkyard upkeep of store exterior
Vons located on Emerson and 80th Street in Westchester, CA 90045. This is the view I enjoy from my house. If it is not bad enough that Vons semi-trucks illegally come down my street rated at 6000 pounds day and night, they have for years keep this lovely junkyard for the neighbors to enjoy for years now. To say Von's gives a crap about the local community would be given them too much credit. Clean up your damn trashy store.
Service
Omg this vons never has enough cashier's. 2 open on a friday at 5:30-6:00 pm! Every frickin time I come in here I spend all the time in line! Today however, unfortunately I encountered the slowest cashier in life (Sandra) didn't give two # about our wait. Nothing wrong with trying to give good customer service, but when people are waiting you don't stop the flow to visit with customers about how they like certain movies, next customers ask about their two girls and blah blah blah! Then you have sneaky cashier's that turn their light off when they are actually opened. So while i'm waiting for customer after customer getting their visit in, people after people are coming out from the register that wad "closed" and I respected!. Please fix the issues at these stores as while waiting I heard another employee screaming across the store about how someone abandoned! Their basket... Really abandoned? They probably had to work the next frickin day and didn't have hours to spend here. Thanks tammy roldan
Terrible customer service
Afternoon of April 22, 2016
I'm writing this complaint for the situation that occurred on April 22 at my local Vons. (which I shop at often) because I had won $5 dollars playing the Monopoly game they have going on now. I thought this would be a quick, fun trip to Vons and then I would go about running my other errands. I thought wrong. Stood in line, like everyone else and the cashier needed help with how to go about this transaction, completely understandably. The problem began here- when she asked for help she got completely ignored by the manager working a few cash registers away. He looked up her and ignored her. She got embarrassed and apologized. Then she tried to get help other ways, NO one was willingly to help this girl. The manager couldn't care less, no communication skills, no service skills. We waited, waited and waited then walked out. Absolutely the worst service. I will not be coming back to this Vons. I will take my business elsewhere.
A 5 dollar Monopoly fun game turned into the worst experience. - Keep the 5 dollars.
Long lines
Ojai vons long lines again. 8 people lined up in express line.the isle in front of the lines impassable. Not to mention the lack of parking to begin with. This vons sucks consistently so badly that I dread shopping here. I only shop here because the next option is 20 min away. They did actually have the majority of check outs open at least. In the past there have been 20 people in line for one checker. And this complaint website is nothing but really ####ing irritating.
Meat department
I have been shopping at Vons in Mira Mesa for about a year now and this is the tenth time I have bought a meat product that has gone bad with in a day of purchasing. I buy meat at Stater bros as often as I can and all their products last a week in my fridge. On Valentine's Day we bought crab legs that were spoiled along with over 20 other people. On Monday I bought hamburger that I pulled out to cook on Wednesday and it was spoiled. In December I bought 2 packages of hot dogs that the expectation date was AUGUST 2016! October 2 ribeyes that were so rancid that the manager didn't even want to touch! I bought those 1 day prior to cooking. I am completely feed up with this! I cannot shop at a store that doesn't take pride in what they are serving the customer.
Steaks
As a loyal customer for many years in. California and nevada I wish to express my disappointment in the quality of meats since you switched from rancher
Reserve to usda choice I know the switch was made a few years back. As a former restaurateur of steak and bbl restaurants I quite buying meat from van's for a long time since it just wasn't up to snuff, and started buying from costco but recently when you advertised beef top loin new york's I gave it a try and after cooking 2 of the four steaks I must tell you for the price of $3.97 lb from $14.99 lb it just isnt worth the discounted price in my opinion. Get rancher reserve back or I and many others will be shopping at costco for meat.
