Fruits & veggies
I purchased some fruits and veggies last night for my family per usual. This morning while my sons breakfast, my oldest son pointed out that the snack bag of organic pre sliced apples were bad. Turns out they expired on 11/28/22. It’s 1/6/23. I also purchased a bag of Honey Crisp apples, and they were also rotted to the core after cutting them open. I’m not disappointed, but disgusted. I shop at this particular location often and I’ve never had this problem. As much as fruit & food costs today in general, customers should not have this problem. Why is there 2 month old fruit on the shelves? And to note, the expiration date was not on the box when I looked.
Desired outcome: The staff stocking the fruit should double check to make sure what they’re putting out is safe to eat and not expired. It’ll save the customers wasted money & time.
Store hygiene
I have submitted this issue previously, with no answer forthcoming!
employees bagging groceries should be required to wear gloves and masks!
today, the young lady bagging my groceries at the vons store,(warm springs & durango in las vegas) was not wearing a mask and gloves, yet while she was bagging my groceries, she was rubbing her nose!
this is a disgusting, unsanitary and inconsiderate act!
i will now report this to my homeowners council (about 250 vons shoppers) as well as expose this issue to the press!
Desired outcome: BAGGERS IMMEDIATELY BEGIN TO USE GLOVES AND MASKS.....RESPOND IMMEDIATELY TO ME, RICH PULIN, AT702/912/6210 AND OR rich.[protected]@gmail.com
I REFUSE to go to Vons in Canyon Country, CA. They are very close to me and have a nice selection of food…BUT, the constant “covid” vaccine commercials brought to you by Pfizer over the loud speaker are driving me right out of the store. ENOUGH ALREADY! If you don’t feel “safe” in January 2023, then just stay home, while the rest of us move on. Also, I noticed that all the employees are now masked up again. It’s very off putting and like it or not - masks are political. I don’t agree with masks and I want nothing to do with voluntary mask wearing “out of an abundance of caution”. This Canyon Country location Vons was the worst during this so called “pandemic”. They were making customers wait in line to enter the store and then had a weird line system inside once you got your groceries. Other grocery stores like Ralph’s were being as normal as the California government would allow. Vons is “woke” to the point of pushing people away. There’s a particular woman who is a checker. She is an insane covid crusader and is so passive aggressive that she is gaining notoriety among the locals as the “line to not go through”. Canyon Country in North L.A. County is not Los Angeles. These are ranchers, horse people, blue collar people and people who politically lean right. You might want to read the room, and stop pandering to a few people who think their 5 vaccines and masks aren’t enough to protect them. For now, I’m driving a few minutes down the road to shop at an equally good store with a more relaxed, non vaccine promoting atmosphere.
Store management customer service appalling
I am currently sick with Covid. I placed an online order which only requests a zip code. Does not provide store number in the Mobile application.
My Order came incomplete while i was charged for the items. The items that were replaced were the ones that did not make it in my order.
I called my nearest VONS store in Torrance California 90503 and Raul the Store Manager followed up with me. He went through the items, and I shared to his personal mobile the receipt and I provided a video of the items received. He said even though the Store location does not deliver, that I can come to the store when I get better, and I can pick up the missing items.
I called back, and he was not there, the store manager in shift LUIS said I had to come immediately as he did not believe my claim. He said unless I showed up, he won't release any items to me. I drove to the store (WITH COVID) and as I proceed showing him my email receipt, he said IS NOT ENOUGH he said, "THIS PROOFS NOTHING". I mentioned to him that I had spoken to Raul earlier and he said with the email confirmation should be enough. He said, "I DON'T BELIEVE YOU I WILL CALL RAUL". I waited patiently and mind you, I am a regular customer that all clerks know me. Mr. LUIS came out saying, "I CAN'T GET A HOLD OF RAUL, YOU HAVE TO CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DEAL WITH THEM. WE DON'T DELIVER AND I WONT RELEASE ANYTHING TO YOU". This really upset me as I am sick, I can't get a print copy as this did not come with the purchase (email should be enough) and for 3 ITEMS this man was EMBARRASING ME IN PUBLIC.
This behavior is unacceptable, unprofessional and this man should not be leading a store and a team if he does not have the skills to do so.
LUIS proceeded to tell me I had to drive to the store who sent me the product. I proof to him the receipt does not have the store number and I am sick, I just need my 3 products (Bagels, Pasta & Chicken Skewers).
He shouted, "GO AHEAD LADY, GET YOUR STUPID PRODUCTS" and he walked away.
To the management team of your stores, I understand you don't have visibility of who you hire, but you should know, for me to take the time to write this, this person does not deserve the position he is at and does not represent your store.
I do hope you take the proper action as this probably is happening more often than you know but I will voice myself for the others.
Thank you,
Rosy Rogers

Desired outcome: It is up to you. I work for a Technology Department as the Sr. Manager, and I would not tolerate this behavior in my team.
$5 Friday Sale
This happened on 12/16/22 at 7:30 a.m. Pay close attention to the brand, size, and price on $5 Friday deals. I saw a display listing $5 pumpkin pies so I picked one up. Imagine my surprise when I got home and saw that they had charged me twice as much $10! The ad says 24oz. and apparently my pie was 22oz. so it wasn't the right pie even though they were all...

Deli sandwich
I purchased a ready meal cranberry turkey wrap today (12/5/22) around 1230
The lettuce, cheese, and wrap were very soggy and inedible.
Pack date of 12/4/22 and sell thru De 6 for a price of $8.99.
I did not know this until I returned and opened it ready to eat a late lunch.
Of course it did not happen.
Maybe it would be better to not smear the cranberry sauce on the wrap. It’ll probably have positive results if it the sauce was in a condiment package.
Desired outcome: Discontinue this way of packaging.
Service
RE: Vons Store #2665, 4520 Sunset Blvd., L.A. CA 90027
I have been a faithful and regular customer of this store for over 30 years. We shop on Sat. or Sun. and come by during the week as well. Easily, I spend close to $200/week. For the past couple of months, however, the service has been quite bad with regards to the aisles where the glass cabinets are locked. This is where shaving cream, deodorant, and other drug store items are kept. I completely understand that there have been security issues that warrant locking the up the products, but no one responds to the buttons which are supposed to summons assistance. Today, for example, there were 5 of us waiting for 5-10 minutes. The calls for assistance are ignored. This week and the past 2 weeks, I had to go up to the front and have a supervisor called. She is a lovely person, however, she shrugs her shoulders ("what can I do - we have a security issue?") My response is that I understand that - but then you should make arrangements so that your customers are serviced quickly. My name is Lori Richardson - most of the staff know me, and I am not someone who complains or causes trouble. There are other supermarkets in the area and my husband wants us to take our business elsewhere. Before we do I wanted to voice my concerns. I can be contacted at [protected]@hotmail.com.
Desired outcome: Better service!!!
Rude checkers and bagging people not helpful just rude beyond belief
: 78-271 CA-111, La Quinta, CA 92253
Someone needs to go to this store and witness the rude cashiers and bagging staff fighting with each avoid working causing long lines not speaking to customers NO hello nothing no words at all only rude looks.
NO, helping to bag groceries was just rudeness to paying customers. No one should be treated as I was today and I witnessed other older people not being helped or spoken to in a human manner. I will never go to that VONS again too many other choices to spend my hard earn money and be treated as I was
Desired outcome: A warm friendly helpful staff
Turkey Dinner Kit
Not only was the price for the turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce more expensive than last year, but it also didn't include rolls or pumpkin pie. Two of my mashed potato containers were mislabeled as gravy, and I was shorted an extra mashed potato I had ordered, necessitating two trips to the Mira Mesa Vons on Thanksgiving Day. This was a huge inconvenience. The turkey must have been young and fed hormones because it neither tasted good nor cut like regular turkey meat. The gravy was white, instead of the usual brown gravy. Tasted awful. I will never buy this turkey package again from Vons. It ruined my Thanksgiving.
Desired outcome: I doubt I'd get any response from Vons even if I wanted one. I feel a refund would be fair.
Customer service
I live across the street From avons The noise is so loud at night It keeps me and my dog up. Connor it's constantly woken up out of his sleep barking at the yelling from security guards trying to stop calling people from stealing Food. Let the homeless have their food! If they are stealing food it's because they are hungry! We live in America , Not in Iraq Or even in Africa where the athletes would rather burn the extra crops then to disperse them to the poor. The store is old and outdated There are no security cameras in the parking lot to catch potential crimes In fact I think your store is completely useless. Although it did have to use many years ago, This particular vons was home to A Bustling And much needed recycling center. Although I am only 3 years in the community I have heard rumors that recycling center was very popular And that it would be a welcome to have it return As long as It is cleaned And sanitizing daily.
Desired outcome: Hire more Local Looking people. Reopen the recycling center. Firepalian Fire Jackie M. Promote David Promote Luisa Promote shade Fire all.com workers they are stealing
1st I would like to thank you for your time and reviewing this communication. So you would like to set up my complaint and less than 350 characters? Sure Racism occurred October 9, 2022 and the afternoon by an employee name Paul. I. Previously have observed Paul B. aggressive towards black children standing in line. Call expelled a mute death person from the store And told him not to come back again because he used sign language.
Worker
Santee Vons curb side pick up delivery boy, think his name is Stephan, threw a ham through my window and hit me in the face. Then said he is busy and has more things to worry about then listen to what I have to say. No manager inside to talk to. Absolutely appalled at the customer service and rude words as to why he decided to through a ham through my window.
Order pick up # [protected]
Purchased 4lb ham and received a 2lb ham
Desired outcome: Fire the young man (worker) who threw the ham through my window and hit me. Then had rude comments to why he did so.
a 3 for pricing.. dr. pepper, sprite, & a&w. "coke guy"
I shopped at Vons for the last time today. I thought you might to know why.
I went into your el camino store across the street from Carlsbad mall.
I tried to purchase a 12 pack of Dr. Pepper, and noticed a 3 for deal with the soda. I picked up two additional 12 packs Sprite & A&W. I went to pay, however the price was not a 3 for pricing. 7.99 7.99 7.99. not 4.99, 6.99 & 6.99 as the price should have been. the Lady at the checkout, said nothing is on sale. I said, I saw it. Do you want me to show you? she had no response. Huh? I will take a picture and show you. she said ok. Oh my! I'll be back, I took the picture and came back in line to show her the picture, she said, sorry you have to go to the customer service line, which of course, it was a line. finally, when I get up there, the check out line lady said, "He is the Coke Guy!" before anything was said... Hi.. etc.. the Customer service lady was about to speak, then another lady said behind the counter with the coupon book. "two of 12 packs are with one vendor and the other 12 pack is with another vendor"... see! do you see. it says 3 for to get the discount. Do you see!.. so you are saying no!.. yes no discount. I left speechless. I called for the manager on the way home. He was not listening. I will coach his employees to better service. this is the 1st time I have ever written a note like this. no longer a customer.
Eric Van Doren
Desired outcome: you should figure this pricing out so it doesn't happen again. Now I'm pissed off. time to tell my friends.
Refrigerated food unit broken / hot dogs and various lunch meats unit
Hello. Today at 6pm, Sunday 11/13/22, I was just informed by a Vons employee that the newest store manager today knew about a refrigerator unit going down and left a lot of hot dogs on the shelf but didn’t remove them until 1pm today and then the employee was told to put the hot dogs back in the unit once it was repaired. They have no idea how long the unit...
Read full review of VonsOnline grocery order
This incident happened today 11/2/2022 at approx. 1330 at the Vons in Oakhurst, California.
I ordered groceries on line and my order was to be picked up at 200pm. I went to the Vons and the website to let the store I had arrived was down and having technical difficulties. I then called the store and waited on line on hold as music was being played. The call went to another level and I was cut off. Very frustrating experience, so the worker came out and I asked him if he could please bring my groceries out as I could not get ahold of anyone. He said he would be back out and I waited close to 30 minutes. Very frustrated I left. The gentlemen called me and proceeded to yell at me saying why did I leave. I came back a second time, and waited over 30 minutes and just was so frustrated I left. The young man proceeded to yell at me and called me an A — H — . I have never been treated like that, so disrespectful and rude. I called the manager MI — and he knows the whole story. The company delivered my groceries as a courtesy, but I will not be going back to Vons to do my shopping.
Desired outcome: This employee needs to talked to regarding vons policies and fired if needed.
STALE DRY GOODS, PUTIRD PRODUCE (in plain English)
I end up discarding 20% of what I purchase--rotten inside, or never ripens until dead, and tasteless, dry oranges.
I also have to throw away DRY GOODS, I get stale crackers, stale cookies, etc
I'm writing today because the Gold Medal flour I bought TWO WEEKS AGO, to bake bread, HAS THE EXPIRATION DATE DECEMBER 2021. We're in Oct 22
The over-priced, sub-standard products you offer are NOT WORTH IT!
Desired outcome: I hope someone there is smart enough to read this valuable customer criticism and put it to good use! BOTTOM LINE: I expect MORE than just my money back!
stock
I have been a faithful Vons customer for many years and am a member of Just for You. Recently, I received my online coupons, which were wonderful. One of the items advertised was turkey breast; however, when I went to the store, the young man in the fresh deli section told me that they do not carry turkey at this time. He told me that the turkey, in that section, was for ordered sandwiches only. Another gentleman told me that there was a turkey shortage. This was quite interesting because other Vons markets have turkey breast. Even Ralphs has freshly sliced turkey breast. Why is Vons in Inglewood not being stocked appropriately?
When I went into the market for $5 Friday, much of the food items were not even stocked. What needs to happen to remedy this inequity? Do I need to begin to shop at Ralph's? Please advise.
Desired outcome: An explanation and appropriate stocking at Vons Inglewood.
Fresh Fruit
I was in Vons at 81 Foothill Blvd in Upland, CA buying Peached, Plums and Nectarines. I have always relied on Vons quality of fresh products. As I was picking the plums I notices many of them were rotten. When you pick them up they were molded and mushy on the bottom. It was the same for the plutos and peached. Nectatines were in the same shape.
I located the produce worker by the potatoes and reported the same to him. He did not seem to care much about my complaint at all. Just blamed it on the customers squeezing them too hard. I told him many of the ones I looked at were actually molded. He told me he would take a look at it in bit.
The impression I got from him leads me to believe Vons no longer cares about freshness and quality of its products. He had a very non-caring attitude about my complaint.
Desired outcome: I would like Vons to look into the matter and go back to the quality of its products as I remember. Otherwise I will be looking to buy my groceries else where.
Just4u
It's a scam.
According to one moody checker, "if you do it correctly it works flawlessly".
Well it's not rocket science. You just clip, add to basket and it should work.
Never does and I do it "correctly".
Then cashier proceeds to 'hand slap' me because it didn't work... Did you use the right phone number? Did you click on it? Did you put it in your basket?
Then after fussing back and forth she finally gives in and manually gives me the discount after a long dissertation about how they aren't supposed to do that, I need to call customer service to see why it doesn't work etc.
Look...Vons/Albertsons gives these incentives to draw you in, you fall for it, and then they rip you off. Not worth the aggravation to save a buck or two.
Let's not even get into the PayPal rebate scam...
Thumbs down
Desired outcome: I would just like Just4U to work without fighting with cashier
Rude and Double charged instead of refund,
On 8/23 10:18 am at store 2167, Vons located at
350 n lemon, walnut ca 91789
The cashier Cathy refused to refund my purchase at self check out area with very rude attitude and told me to lineup at the regular cashier for refund, after I move to lineup at the regular check stand she then waves to me from the self check out and said I will refund you here. I don’t understand her purpose of make me running back and force.
But that’s not the worst, I found my card actually been double charged instead of credit when I receive text from my credit card and this really shocked me.
The amount of double charged maybe easily to resolved, but the rude attitude and cheating definitely warned us to keep away from Vons.
Chicken and the Manager Jose
I had the manager at the Vons in Long Beach at 1820 Ximeno, get upset with me first of all because I was complaining about the cooked chicken they serve 4 hours old. The chicken will choke you it's so dried out from the warmer. Well Jose loves to talk to his customers except the Black one's I can only surmise, because he wasn't social or nice to me at all. Accused me of getting smart with him when I wasn't even talking to him, then when he found out I was talking to the customer ahead of me, accused me of being rude when I was no such thing, then told me I could leave the store, even though he knew I wanted to make a compliant. He was extremely rude and I will never go into another Vons for as long as I live, because he felt very comfortable talking down to me like I was a dog.
Desired outcome: Do I need to tell you how to discipline your employee's? something wrong here.
Beware of Jose the Mgr at the 'Von by the Traffic Circle I believe him to be racist because my experience with him, only lead me to that conclusion. He is Rude and very Cocky like he's not dependent on that job and could give two fuqs if fired or reported! But He won't ever have to worry about me again. Oh yeah they lied told me, they would give me a gift card for my trouble, and gave me Nothing just wasted more of my time. Card wasn't even at C.S station.
