pharmacy policy
August 26th, 2017 12:05 a.m.
I am a disabled patient who recently switched insurance providers which my pharmacy CVS of over 20yrs recently stopped accepting, I am already not a happy consumer that has to now utilize Walgreens. I went into Walgreens pharmacy around 12:05 a.m. to fill my prescription of a controlled substance and was told by the pharmacist that he would not be able to fill it until 7 a.m. which confused me due to the fact I've never experienced this from CVS, because as of 12 a.m. of the 26th of August my prescription was due to be filled. Do Walgreens feel someone who receives a controlled substance prescription is an addict or something to that effect because my pain does not stop between the hours of 12-7 a.m. This predicament strongly have me considering changing to another insurance provider and/or definitely communicating with CVS corp. to express my displeasure with Walgreens policies and the fact that CVS no longer accepts my provider which I only changed because my physician wants to perform injections and my past provider kept denying the claims. I am displeased with your policy. I feel your company somehow singles out consumers that receive a prescription of a controlled substance as an abuser when obviously CVS that happens to be your competitor does not have such a policy.

Had scripts from Tucson Pain Institute for Nucynta ER and Immediate Release pain meds, older woman pharmacist was very kind and helpful and I was told the meds would be there for me each month. It was at first, then the day came a few months later that I had those to fill but it hadn't been ordered. I was upset! I wasn't out but I was told it'd be there but wasn't. I was angry and let male pharmacist know it. When picking up meds I apologized to him. He said for me to call 3days b4 meds due for filling to be sure it was in. Well I forgot and went for refill and it wasn't there. I was upset and he came front, I asked him, AGAIN?! He snatched it from female techs hand to hand back to me. I took it and left and will NEVER go back again! It's hard enough to get pain management meds without having to do pharmacists job. I was told Pain med's would be there each month and then to expect me to call each month to make sure it's ordered or there is ridiculous! Never been treated so badly at a pharmacy! I believe it's pretty crappy that he makes me be responsible for making sure my meds are there each month. Nucynta is not an opioid in high demand so no shortage of it. I went to Walmart who had it in stock and told pharmacist what had happened at Walgreens and she assured me that it will be there each month and all I need do is bring in scripts each month. As it should be. You can see that I've been with Walgreens many, many years. Sure there's been bumps along the way, been on Pain mngmt since 07, and some were high demand opioids, so not each month was easy. But no one has ever tried to make it my responsibility! I suppose the loss of my business is no big deal in the scheme of things, but it should be.
walgreen i Lafayette, CA, on Mt Diablo is giving me trouble filling my meds, mainly because i am a afro american male, with a white mate.
There is a pharmacist in Lafaytte, ca that doesn't want to fill my meds and gives me trouble about it, mainly i believe i am afro american, black male. He is Asian male.
filling prescriptions and customer service not knowing what's going on with orders
Our blue cross blue shield of IL just changed from prime mail to Walgreens mail. I have never been satisfied with the local Walgreens pharmacy and I now see that the Walgreens mail order is just as bad. I called on a Friday to check on 3 prescriptions my doctor had sent to Walgreens mail. The customer service guy informs me that all 3 prescriptions are being sent out (so I gave him my credit card # to pay for them). On Monday I go online to check order status and it says one prescription needs more info so the other two are now waiting to ship. I call and try to get the two that are ready shipped without the 3rd prescription. The nice lady on the phone said one of the 3 could ship but the 2nd one they thought was ready to ship is currently on BACK ORDER! They have no clue when the back ordered pills will be in. WHAT? REALLY! I ask them to call it in to my local Walgreens and they say it might not be a 90 day supply and it will not be at the same price as the mail order cost. That makes me mad because I think they should honor that cost at any Walgreens since the mail order cannot provide them. The customer service gives me a prescription number to use and I go to my local Walgreens. They say they have plenty of the medication I am looking for but when they try to bring it up to see how much more I will have to pay for it they cannot process it because Walgreens mail has billed me for it! So they billed me for a prescription that they have on back order and have no idea when they will get more! The pharmacist at Walgreens tells me to call the mail order and have them back out the charges... what the heck, why should I have to spend another 30 minutes on the phone with them trying to figure it out, I would rather spend the time looking up how I can write a review about Walgreens and the lack of ability they have to be the only pharmacy that we are stuck with. I really want to contact someone from Walgreens that cares!
walgreen's port allen, la jason
Ive been trying to get a prescription "refilled" for a month. I have been getting this same medicine filled for years. They said my insurance wouldn't cover is because they needed prior authorization from my doctor. My doctor wrote the script. They then said it wasn't their fault but they could submit the form for my doctor to fill out.
I contacted my doctor and they said they filled it out and sent it back in.
I called the pharmacy and spoke with Jason. He said he needed me to bring my insurance card to the pharmacy for them to verify. I said I could do that but I could give him the info over the phone and they should have it on file. He told me "I am very busy with people in the drive thru and waiting here in line in the store" I said I have been waiting for a month can I just get you to verify the insurance in the computer and make sure it's covered he said "I'm just too busy you need to come up here" I said do you understand what you are telling me I've been waiting a month now have those customers been waiting a month, he said probably so and hung up. Scary to think this is who I have been trusting getting my medicine from.
pharmacy on 46th and hiawatha minneapolis
I tried to call the pharmacist to check to see if the insurance company got back to them about a prescription. I waited on hold for over a hour and a half for only having two callers ahead of me when I started the call. So while I was waiting on hold I decided to drive up there because it's already been over a hour on hold and I was still behind one caller. When I got to the pharmacy there was no line of people and four people on staff visiting and talking behind the counter. When I showed them my phone and ask why I'm still on hold with it not being busy here. The pharmacist would address my concerns only kept asking what he can help me with. WTH first do you job and answer your phone and not be visiting behind a counter. I find out that my insurance approved it the day before and then I had to wait for them to fill it. Wow they need new employees bad..
corporate customer service
Recently, I shopped at my local Walgreen's and was shocked at the price gouging. I wrote to head of Customer Experience and heard nothing back, so I addressed my concerns to the President and CEO of Walgreen's and heard nothing back. This just proves that Walgreen's is NOT concerned with customer service or what customers think if the President and CEO does not respond to customer complaints than why should the stores or anyone else care.
pharmacist
I waited in line more than 30 minutes, the pharmacist is EXTREMELY rude she to the point even though there was no one in the store said she won't refill my prescription if I waited, minimum of an hour instead. I work nights and was nicely trying to see why when there was nobody inside she could not do the 15 like every other person at Walgreens and other Walgreens do. She gave me an attitude and said your welcome and did absolutely nothing.
pharmacy
Dropped my prescription off a day before it needed to be refilled. So it could of been filled first thing in the morning. I tried to pick it up on my way to work and the pharmacist told me that they will not fill it until 8:30a.m. Now I'm out of my prescription and need to perform my job with two bulged discs and a hemerage. This academic is one thing but for the people that truly use and obey their prescriptions as read are having to suffer because of others ingnorances. Also now I'm going to be in servere pain and possible withdraw.
pharmacy
My very first time in a Walgreens:
I had a prescription transferred to a Walgreen's in Morgantown, WV. I was traveling back to Wheeling WV from New York and New Jersey. I was not allowed to refill my Rx before I left and I ran out on my last day up north. Also, my insurance doesn't cover out of state prescriptions. I transferred it to Walgreens from a CVS closeby that closed at 9pm. Walgreens was the first I found open until midnight so I called them to have it transferred. I arrived a little after 10pm and they were closed. I panicked because if I miss a dose of this medication I am at risk for kidney failure and perhaps death. I spoke to the manager and told him this. He was unable to unlock the pharmacy to either get my Rx or have it transferred somewhere else since the pharmacist left early (one employee said she felt like leaving early, the manager said she went into labor. I don't know which is true) looked him in the eye and asked him if he thought Walgreens would be ok with letting my kidneys fail. He left to call someone (I assume a pharmacist) and said try next door, they are open until midnight. I told him that my script is locked in your pharmacy. I can't transfer it. He then said go to an ER or call your doctors office. There's nothing he can do. I left but I couldn't go to an ER since my insurance doesn't cover an ER visit unless it is life threatening, which I wasn't sure if this would be considered life threatening or not. Also, my doctors office was closed. Luckily, I was able to figure another way and get one dose somewhere else for my nightly dose.
A: Someone should have been aware of the dangers of missing doses of this medication and call me if the pharmacist is closing early so I have the chance to transfer it elsewhere.
B: There should have been a pharmacist to replace the one that had to leave.
C: If the pharmacist must leave and can't get a replacement then the person whom the manager called should have come down with a key to get my Rx since it was life threatening if I don't get it.
I know C would be very inconvenient and I would have felt terrible if someone did come down, but not so bad as to risk my life. I think most people would get out of bed and drive their daily commute to avoid risking someone's life. I would.
This negligence was a huge liability for the company. If I had missed my dose and died, what would have happened to this company?
I will never, ever use Walgreens again. Your company could have killed me and it was easy enough to avoid the situation.
pharmacy
Walgreens Pharmacy looses my prescriptions on a monthly basis. Every month, I TRY to refill my prescriptions, but every month there is a glitch... they either loose my prescriptions, blame the delay on my doctor's office, or suddenly declare that there are no refills available. After years of this neglect, I am finally driven away from what was once a fine company.
pharmacy
Senatobia pharmacy is not only the slowest care providers, they have also become the rudest. Talk about poor customer service! Genuinely have no care for customers time or needs. Unfriendly answering any questions or capable of giving quality assistance. Whoever is in charge around there needs to step it up or move along!
Personally have spent hours in line. Hours out of line. Days waiting on scripts to be filled or requested call or text notifications when medications were prepared.
Beyond the terrible wait is the lack of curtesy. In a service where your position IS to work customer service you should exceed being polite and kind to all consumers.
Disappointed is an understatement.

My mother's Medication was lowered by her pain specialist doctor and was supposed to start the new dosage on the 4th of August.
When trying to have the prescriptions filled, the Pharmacist told my mother who is disabled that it was up to his discretion when the medication would be filled, even though her doctor had put on the prescription to fill it on the 4th of August.
I will be taking this to the board and make sure to write reviews I will advise on yelp everyday to Not use Walgreens pharmacy due to this and other problems with this pharmacy I will also make sure none of my friends or family ever use Walgreens again.
Horrible people
bad customer service/ cashier was very rude
Hello.I want to start off 1st.by saying I really hate that I'm having to do this complaint.I usually don't do this becuz I completely understand cashier couldve been having a bad day idk anything..but the way I have been treated by this cashier the past 3 times I've gone has been horrible and very embarrassing..ok i went to the your store #8673 in Port Lavaca Tx.on Hwy 35 on July 1 2017 at 8:38pm..with both my daughter's and myself .as soon as I walked in I went straight towards beauty isle and right away the cashier gets on speaker and says something to the effect of SCAN ISLES.there was more but i can't Remember her exact words... I didn't think anything of it until everywhere I turned that same cashier was 5 feet away from me..and I'm not even exaggerating.every isle I went down she followed me and my daughter's..she made us feel very uncomfortable..I have never stolen or taken anything from walgreens or any other place before so i don't understand why do that to us..i can give u drivers license# so y'all can check my background I've never been to jail for anything in my life...the only thing I can think of was that I took to long looking at an item or something becuz other then that nothing else happened..I felt very uncomfortable so i just got my cart and went to the front to check out...while I was checking out my mother called me so i went outside to use the phone and i left my daughter a 50.00 dollar bill to pay ..when I got home was looking at my receipt and the cashier charged me a $5.00 Charity ..I didn't know what that was not did she ask me or my daughter if we wanted to donate anything...I went back to store cashier explained that it was an accident and she refunded me the money...a week later I wanted to return some products i purchased..I again go with my daughter's and same cashier was there and right away the speaker goes off SCAN ISLES! very embarrassing..I went straight to register explained that i wanted to return 2 Rimmel Eyeliners 1 Rimmel Lip Laquor. And a Rimmel Mascara she then did something with her lip like if it bothered her thAt I was returning it..another worker came to register she very quietly talked to her about my return she then said sorry we cannot accept ur return becuz we no longer carry the Rimmel Brand..and I just said "really" and she proceeds to tell me if i didn't believe her for me to go down the isle and i would see no more Rimmel makeup anywhere..I just said okay t hanku...I once again left feeling very uncomfortable, left feeling like i did something wrong...when I didn't...I got home talked to my husnband about it..and we decided that the next morning we would return everything I bought that past couple weeks from y'all that of course that I hadn't already opened it or used it...got everything together my receipts and items and waited couple days later till my next off day was .which was today..I go in there today 08/2/2017 3:35pm..and what do i see and hear the same cashier and Scan all ISLES...I went straight to her and told her i didn't like how I was being treated and that I was returning everything I had bought that I hadn't opened...i told her I will never purchase another thing from walgreens again and I told her that it was not okay for her to make the customers feel like that..she didn't say anything nor apologize..I was over it I just wanted to leave the store...I handed her my result and right away she said it's been over 30 days so we can't accept yr return...Mind you, it hadn't been 30 days yet...by this time there were 4 other customers behind me in line I didn't want to make a scene so I just grabbed my bags and walked out..very embarrassed...I had not called to talk to manager becuz I didn't want anyone getting in trouble but today i made the decision to email y'all becuz who knows how many other customers she does that too..and who knows how many y'all have lost...the cashier name is Adriana she mainly works the evening shift ..it's the only walgreens in our town of Port Lavaca Tx.the # is [protected]...I would really appreciate if y'all can speak to her and explain you cannot assume someone is stealing for whatever I reason she might have thought that unless she actually sees it with her eyes...this is very embarrassing to me..even writing this email...I work a till time job and so does my husband I have 4 childern 1 in Victoria college and the other goes to University of Houston my other 2 daughter's are in middle school..they do not steal have never stolen in there lives..they go to bible study on Wednesday nites and Sunday mornings we are at church ...Thank you [protected] [protected]@gmail.com
the right to use the bathroom
Well we were in Walgreens Saturday me and my mom around 12:29pm the date was 7/29/2017 store number is #03948 address 5140 W. Diversey Avenue
In the back by pharmacy they had a note up for the bathroom stating that it was temporarily out of order I actually was already in Walgreen's first because I had medications to pick up and then my mom came about 20 minutes later because she was over across the street at the currency exchange so she had called me on my cell phone and told me she was on her way over to walgreens because she had to use the washroom really bad so I had not have it a second thought that the bathroom was out of order because I really did not pay any attention to the sign now we both shop in this particular walgreens and are loyal customers as well as pick up prescriptions here and my mom needed to go to the bathroom really bad she had to do number 2 and it was starting to come through her clothes so when I ask the pharmacist exactly what is wrong with the bathroom his reply was well the water in the toilet is not running properly and then I stated well can my mom still use the restroom because she has got to make her bowels her stomach was upset because of something she had ate the day before he would not allow her in the restroom and the manager or pharmacist over him that was working back there that day came out and got smart with me and my mother stating it is not a public washroom and I ask well how do you all do when your have to use the bathroom and she had the nerve to say we are not allowed to use the bathrooms either we have to hold it or wait until we get off of work and as a result of them not allowing my mom access to the bathroom she had accident before she got home so she had to come all the way home and take another bath or shower because she messed on herself due to not being allowed to use Walgreen's washroom I think that is wrong you do not treat human beings that way I have been in there many times picking up my prescriptions and needed to use the restroom and they allowed me in there I am speaking on my mother's behalf because she is at work and she couldn't file the complaint I would like something to be done about this.
HI lilshorty..so do you think it's Walgreens responsibility to offer a bathroom for your mom's messed up Bowels? IF THE TOILETS were not working properly..then she would have made a bad mess. That we all know she would not clean up. Get a grip
pharmacy
This nightmare happened close to a year ago at the Greensburg, PA pharmacy over a pharm tech not looking at the name on the rx. my mom and i had been customers at this walgreens for long enough that they knew us by name. She asked me if i was able to take her rx and get it filled for her, which btw is a "sch. 2" drug. I arived at the counter and was greeted by the pharmacist who seems to always be there when i or mom had a rx. I said i had just this one for my mom and he said ok no problem, not asking me for her date of birth which at the time didnt think anything about. after 20 mins while sitting back at the waiting area i overhear the pharmacy tech whos always there also on the phone going over rx records and hearing my dr.s name i walked up to the desk to see what the problem was. At this time shes going over my rx's and is telling whoever on the other line that im seeing 2 doctors for this medication...why was my name involved when the rx i dropped of was for my mom? I only heard my name spoken about saying i was having multiable rxs filled from more than 1 dr. I tried out a new dr for 1 month b4 i just decided to stick with my pcd instead of the pysch i saw for the 1 time. i never had 2 rxs of the meds in 1 month which i was accused of doing that several times, again what the F***...not only is ur information wrong but this rx isnt mine, nor am i trying to act like its mine. long story short this bimbo tech who obviously cant or doesn't want to read or even look at the name for that mater on the rx and just start calling and misinforming drs? i always thought it was only the actual pharmacist not the pharm tech who was allowed to make those kinda calls? i was kicked out of both drs my mother also was kicked outta her drs, i got "red flagged" and not allowed to be seen by any exhala dr which seems to be 95% of all drs because of this f***ing idiots screw up?! how f***in stupid are these ppl didnt u got to school for a # of yrs to be doing this job which btw mcdonalds wld b a better fit for ya. Sorry im getting of topic just makes me so mad at the whole situation that occurred that day. They never gave me back my moms rx saying they had to hold onto until for a reason at which point was thinking wtf is going on and left and went home. I should have asked more questions and demanded to know exactly what was taking place that night but was in shock of the attitude switch from friendly to hostile thinking i was a addict/ pill seeker, which im still labeled under to this day thankfully i found a dr that would see me and just began to give me the meds i was on for years b4 this nightmare but only half of the mgs since just starting them again. Sorry about the novel i wrote but wanted to get my story out there. to this day both still work there and the couple of ppl i sent seeking for some help said theres was nothing that could be done which i find hard to beleive. both the pharm tech and pharmacist working that night need to lose their license and find another profession maybe like walmart greeter... because their gonna cost someone else this headache and thats just not right imo. Sorry again bout length and stay away from every walgreens to avoid any problem.
pharmacy staff
I have used the walgreens pharmacy at 10710 for almost two years now. I get the same prescriptions just about every month and every month they tell me they do not have my medicaid insurance in the system. This time I called as I do just about every month to fill. I was told I can pick up in one hour. Like clock work I instantly received a delayed text message. I thought about the prescription just before bed and decided to check the status through the link in the text and the prescription was ready over an hour and a half but no text was sent to me until this morning. When I got there to pick up I was once again told my secondary insurance was not on file. The same insurance I provide month after month. So again I provide the card instead of the normal irritated response I give. 5 minutes later I'm told the system is not allowing her to up date the insurance. To make matters worse she can't give me my prescriptions at all even with just paying for them and to come back as if I have time for that. So now the prescriptions I should have and would have been able to pick up 24 hrs prior are still there. Prescriptions I have to take for my health; not for the fun of it. After I pick up my prescriptions I will not be using Walgreens pharmacy ever again. I will also make sure everyone I know doesn't as well. There are too many options and the only reason I use walgreens is because the pharmacy is literally 2 minutes from my home. I would rather drive two miles or more to CVS or Fry's than deal with the non sense another flipping month. No need to contact me. I doubt I'm the only dissatisfied customer.
Dissatisfied customer,
Delana G.
prescriptions
My 5 prescriptions are filled automatically all come due at different times; consequently, I have to go pick them up 5 times. I have spoken to your rude counter person at both the south commercial store and the north Lancaster store in Salem Or. and one told me the only way to resolve the problem was to move to Walmart or someplace else for a shot time then start over with walgreens . Seems stupid to me but what other choice do I have? 07/21 prescription [protected]
everyday points rewards
WHY do they issue Everyday Points Rewards that expire the SAME day you receive them? Some of us Seniors scraped the bottoms of our purses each month to find enough change to purchase what we need and find out we could have gotten 10X more points, but we have to spend ANOTHER $20, which we don't have this close to payday, to redeem these points! This is "POINTLESS"! I really appreciate this program. It allows me to get several items free at the end of the month when I redeem them but whoever thought of this "same day" redemption, must have had a little indigestion that day.
the store manager the employees
The store is located at central and mcdowell phoenix az. I went into walgreens to get a drink but ended up seeing block that I was debating about getting for my son but i was on the phone so I was walking around asking a friend what I should by that happen to be on the phone with me but then I noticed I started to be follow I thought maybe is was becaise maybe I had a back pack on but then I noticed no matter what i did they kept following me. So I started to make a video becaise i notice what they were doing so fb could see how people can be judge but then the one I proceeded to ask the security guard was there a problem and i think i got poor customer service and i want justice for the way they treated me I don't know if it's becaise im black or even becaise im in the gay I they treated me like I was theif and I'm far from that that's not right for your employee to discriminate anyone for the way they look! I can't attach a live video on here but you are more then welcome to somehow send me a friend request to see it
