The most recent refills of the generic ambien sleeping pills that I received from my local Walgreen's in Columbus, Ohio are NOT working!
Walgreen's has used the manufacturer Teva to provide generic Ambien sleeping pills for many, many years, and I have used them successfully at the same 10mg dosage all of those years.
The past two months' refills I picked up at my local Walgreen's have NOT been working for me! The manufacturer is now Aurobindo, and according to my local pharmacist, Aurobindo will be the supplier from now on.
I wanted to let someone at Walgreen's corporate office know that the Aurobindo generic version is NOT working for me. I cannot fall asleep within even a hour of taking the pill. I used to be able to fall asleep within 30 minutes. Now, I am not able to fall asleep for several hours... usually not until 3 or 4 a.m., whether or not I even take the pill.
Thanks for any / all info that you can provide me as to any similar complaints or causes for the ineffectiveness of the Aurobindo generic version of Ambien.
And, please know that this brand cost me more than I have ever paid in the past!

I am having terrible side effects that occur a few hours after taking Zolpidem manufactured by Aurobindo. Been taking generic zolpidem for years and it had always been a pale red pill - noticed this new one was white and checked with pharmacy (Walgreens) if they changed the mfg. They agreed and tried to say it was because I had been taking zolpidem too long. Strange that the dizziness and nausea occurring during the night came only when I started this particular brand.
It's not just you. Teva was the best but maybe they no longer make it. All I know is that this Aurobindo is next to useless for me.
I want to comment on this zolpidem 10mg made by AUROBINDO. I took it last night for the first time. No new dietary changes, nothing.
One hour after taking this medicine, I began vomiting uncontrollably. I was wretching and throwing up so fast that I was unable to catch my breath or make my way across the room to the bathroom. It was a physically painful, terrifying experience.
This drug is horrible. Today, I have sore stomach muscles from all the spasms and wretching.
My pain medication manufacturer was recently changed from Mallinckrodt to Aurobindo. I was doing just fine with the former, managing my pain and sleeping ok. The Aurobindo feels like it is hardly touching my pain plus whatever is in the binders and fillers gives me dreadful anxiety and adrenaline rushes. It feels like I'm being poisoned.
I left Walgreen due to their horrible choices with generics that do not work. FDA allows a +\- 20% active ingredient in prescription meds. Walgreen obviously chooses the -20%. I’ve moved my Zolpidem to Costco. Walmart is also a good option for ordering the generic you prefer. Will never shop at Walgreen again.
I was using the manufacturer Torrent for my Zolpidem, Walgreens gave me AUROBINDO I only take 5mg for many years. I woke up with a splitting headache and it lasted most of the day! I never get headaches it was horrible! Never again will I take it!
Aurobindo generic zolpidem from Walgreens does NOT seem to work.
This is the second time I have used it and laid awake the entire night tossing and turning. I would close my eyes to hope to sleep and see dark disturbing images. Not violent, just dark and unpleasant, flipping from scene to scene. Did not feel drowsy at all, just extremely restless. I have never had this experience with Zolpidem 5 mg before. (I break a 10 mg in half). I only take it 2 or 3 times a week on an empty stomach, no alcohol or food in my system. Now I feel absolutely exhausted and am afraid to take this manufactures zolpidem again. I have a 90 day supply. This is concerning.
In my opinion I have tried it and cr and brand name and it all does the same except torrent generic gives headaches!
AGREE! AUROBINDO does NOT WORK! This manufacturer of Zolpidem should be taken off the market...causing way too many people distress!
I also just received Aurobindo at Safeway, It's absolutely horrible. I have taken Zolpidem for years. Now I can't sleep at all on this junk. It is not effective at all. I am now starting to go through withdrawal. That would be a huge red flag to anyone taking it that the manufacturer is suspect.
Most months, a few of the Aurobindo zolpidems don't work. This month, none of them work. It's as if the company is leaving out the active ingredient.
