Waste Management [WM] Trash not pick for a week

It's been a week since 1/6/2022 and the dumpster hasn't been emptied even after multiple calls to have it emptied.

The dumpster is supposed to be emptied every Thursday, but on 1/6 the driver drove into the building complex half way but then just drove off without doing what he is paid to do — emptied the trash.

I called the following Friday and the operator assured me that someone will come out on Monday. NO ONE DID. Others have called and were told someone is going to come. It's Wednesday and the trash is piling higher and higher and wm is still taking my money but not my trash.

This building has two dumpsters and this one is always forgotten while the other one gets emptied. It makes no sense to empty one in the morning and the other in the evening.

Doesn't it make business sense to empty both at the same time?

Desired outcome: Be responsive to the customer and stop missing the collection

Waste Management [WM] charged for recycling service not being done

Didnt bother picking up recycling on jan 4th. called multiples times since then being told they will pick it up the next day. Since jan 5th ive called every other day because no one showed up. Every time i call they tell me the same thing, they rescheculed for the next day. I even got a email yesterday that they will be here today. No show. Now i have tons of recycling backing up with nowhere to put it. They sould give me a credit for the month, and pick it up two times in one day. i have almost 3 containers full of recycling. They have records of me calling multiple times and emails.

Waste Management [WM] Damaged emergency exit light at the property

There is an emergency exit light on the wall by the recycling trash area that has been there for years and one of your team damaged the light. They have the small truck drive in the condo building upper garage. Please let me know what is the next step I have to do to resolve this matter.

Waste Management [WM] Residential trash/recycling pickup

01/10/22 Alpharetta/Milton, Georgia. Have used three different trash recycling companies and Waste Management is beyond terrible. In six months they have missed or had more than a 3 day delay nine (9) times. Service for trash and recycling is commonly missed with communcations after the fact. The 800 number takes 45-60 minutes to connect, when chat works it takes close to 30 minutes just to get an agent. Email takes 2-4 days for a response. We are approaching three (3) weeks with no recycling being picked up. They blame on Covid and drivers being out on quarantine? The most unreliable service I have ever experienced. This is an example of "customer no service".

Desired outcome: Communicate in advance of issues and stop with apologies and do your job.

Waste Management [WM] Employee broke my recycle container!

During my recycle pickup this morning I heard something being banged around in front of my property and when I finally got downstairs to my front door your waste management truck was driving away and my broken recycle container was in the middle of my driveway 5-10 feet from where my trash containers were left! Unacceptable they knew they broke it, it was completely separated from the other containers. The amount of times they bashed it around! the snow was removed last night and they were shoveled out, I also made sure they opened without a problem this morning this is unacceptable. I want this replaced asap and I will not pay for a new one since it was broken on purpose by your employee.

Waste Management [WM] Residential pick up and lack of response from anyone

Our garbage was not pick up last Friday. We made sure our driveway and turnaround were plowed. The most upsetting part is the driver made a recording trying to indicate he attempted to empty our garbage. I was home and he never came down our part of the driveway but our other three neighbors were serviced. This recording indicates a blatant lie! I called (took more than 45 minutes) and was told our garbage would be pickup that day (Tuesday) or the next. Well of course this did not happen and it never has, I was very sure it would not when it came out of the representative's mouth. Whenever we have been told this it is never been done, and I mean never! This is a strong statement but WM has earned it, liers. The company has no ethics and NO respect for customers. I recent deeply having my time wasted. I have had to pick up my scattered garbage after it was blown over and dogs got into it!

I will file a formal written complaint with our city/county as WM is contracted here which is frustrating giving us no other options. The local office is still closed and NO one will come to the door! I would normally be much more tactful in a letter but why should I? I have been lied to again which is painfully obvious promoted by the company as a whole (history), had my time wasted.

Waste Management [WM] Service was suspended

My service was suspended for nonpayment. I have always paid my bill before it is due. I am completely disabled and live on a fixed income. I called to inform Waste Management that I had suffered a stroke and had been in the hospital over a month from complications. I live alone and have no one to pay my bills when I am sick. When I explained to customer service that I could pay my bill on the 19th of this month when I receive my Social Security Disability, they said that was not sufficient and service would not be restored until my past due balance of $75 was paid. I know that to a big company like Waste Management $75 is nothing but to me, it is a lot considering I live on a fixed income and had two medications which cost nearly $700 that I need is of no consequence to them. It's so sad how these big companies can charge and asess big fees that we as customers have to pay. God forbid that someone like me be late for the first time paying my bill to them. Also, I have never canceled my service in the past whenever they have forgotten to pick up my trash. I just figured that it was an honest mistake. So sad!

Waste management suspended my account after taking over our original trash service. We went a month without a bill then received 2 the following the month. Next thing you know they suspended our account for none payment on December. For the past three months I have made my regular payments thinking I should be caught just about up. No way! For the past three months I have been being charged the same monthly rate without any services rendered. Thought that was against the law but they believe they are above it.

Waste Management [WM] $75 removal fee excessive and not agreed to

On January 3rd, I called to cancelled my service with Waste Management (Customer ID [protected]), since every single invoice goes for up. (July 2021 $101.30, October 2021 $115.91, January 2022 $124.41)

I was told that I would be subject to $75 cart removal fee plus taxes that I was not aware off, since my service was with Tennessee Trash Service for many years until Waste Management absorb or bought the company. Even the carts remain Tennessee Trash Service and not Waste Management.

There is a statement that appeared on my bill that says "This invoice constitute an offer by WM to provide service to you for specified period. By paying this you agree to continue service during the specified service period and to the therm of service at www.wm.com/OMR, with no refund for early cancellation, unless such refunds is required by law, regulation or contract. If services are cancelled, you will be assessed a Cart Removal charge of up to $75 plus applicable taxes and charges including fuel surcharge, environmental charge and regulatory cost recovery charge"

This statement appeared on my bill 01/01/22-03/31/22 that I just received. I did not notice it and I did not sign or agreed to any of these terms, since my previous service was with a different company that was switched to Waste Management without my knowledge.

Please note my service was paid in full and has been canceled for the next 3 months. I'm asking Waste Management to consider my account closed and waived the outrages fees I did not agree with when they switched my service from Tennessee Trash company.

Waste Management [WM] Cancellation fee

Called company 12/28/21 to have service cancelled at end of following month, giving them over a month notice of cancellation. My account is in good standing & have never been late on quarterly payments or defaulted on my contract. I was informed I would be charged a $75.00 fee for "cart removal". The cart is their property, yet they want to charge me to come and get it. This is extortion! Apparently, you can never stop service or you will be penalized.
This is just another reason to cancel my service, along with the consistent rate increases & the newly implemented paper invoice fee. I don't know why or how anyone can afford to do business with them.

Desired outcome: Not paying their ransom fee

Waste Management [WM] Recycle Pick up

Not much to explainm here. It has now been 8 straight weeks that WM has not picked up my recycle. Ckecking the status of the route, WM is claiming that the pick up was made. Since I started using WM, trash pick up works great, recycle...20% they might get my recycle. I have left complaints and when asked to speak to a supervisor, can not get anyone to ever call me back. Oh, so I keep getting told when I call they they will send a "code red" for my recycle. Is that just an inside joke to keep us happy? I have a stack of boxes in my shed that have been building up.

Desired outcome: Pick up my recycle and make drivers accountable when they lie and don't do their job.

Waste Management [WM] Cancelling service

We signed a contract in December of 2013 for dumpster service at our small manufacturing plant. It automatically renews every three years. It renewed automatically this December. I paid the December invoice. I called the second week of December and asked them to cancel our service as of December 31st. They told me I missed the window for cancellation and sent me a certified letter saying that in order to cancel the service I would have to pay a cancellation fee in the amount of $2, 226.98 plus $185.00 container re-moval fee. They are currently charging me $386.14 per month. Another service in the area will charge me $125.00 per month.

from what im reading on their cancellation policy, you have about 90 days before the end of your service contract to cancel. from what i understand you called after the renewal of your contract. you were 991 days early to your next window to cancel your 3 year contract [1,005 days would be when your next window is from when it was renewed]. again this is if i understand their cancellation policy.

Waste Management [WM] Missed pick up

My name is Denise. My regular pick up day is on Tuesdays afternoon. When I got home Tuesday evening I noticed that my trash had not been picked up. I thought maybe they were just running late. I checked the website which said the ETA was between 6:30-8:45 I didn't hear the truck so I returned to the website. it said trash had been picked up. I didn't check because it was raining. I let everyone know the trash had been picked up. The next day we saw the trash was still there. I called Wm to ask why. I was told the trash had been picked up. Well no it's still here. she said she had a video. I said lady the trash is still here. She said as a courtesy she'd have it picked up on Friday. I asked for a supervisor because we have a lot of trash that is why I pay for a dumpster. She told me the trash would be picked up on Thursday morning. I called this morning because I have bags of trash in my yard. I was told the trash would be picked up by end of day. Tonight my trash is still here! Nobody really cares. They all know there is really nothing I can do. But you can. You can find out who these people are and hold they accountable. I pay $106 per month for this service. This is horrible service.

Desired outcome: They were irritated that I kept calling. My trash is still here.

There are 3 different trucks. 1 for recycling, 1 for residential trash, and one specifically for dumpsters. they may have been referring to the residential trash being picked up and did not hear that you were requesting the status of the dumpster trash collection truck.

Waste Management [WM] Left garbage cans then said they couldn't pick up for another week

Talked to some really ignorant people at waste management again they said they left the trash containers because of bad weather in southern California while they had a truck hauling butt up the road to pick up others larger metal containers in very difficult places to pick up so I called and canceled the service and they picked the containers up the next day but could not pick up containers until; another week for trash pickup what a joke I am so glad I finally have a new company, yes our containers were put out early the day before cause they can never have a regular time. I watched a giant propane company truck deliver our propane the same day they were supposed to pick up. UPS, Amazon. and a water truck but why the lazy butt WM driver could not pick ours up?

Waste Management [WM] Neglecting billing compliance

Billing hung up on me today during a time when I was trying to solve a repeated billing issue.
My bill has escalated from the agreed $67 per three month billing cycle (after a billing inflation issue years ago).
In Sept. when my bill was three times larger I spent several hours calling to solve but no representative answered calls. Because of this I received a bill for a late payment. Days later I was able to speak with a human. In this conversation I explained that I never agreed to a +$160 bill and will not pay a late fee because they had no corrective actions available. I advised this rep. That I would rather cancel if there is no accurate service available. He told me there would be a cancelation charge for +$100 to pick up their containers. My response was "I can keep your containers inside of my fencing and charge you for storage plus my time spent through attempts to correct your errors." His response was that he would report this to the credit bureau. I requested a printed bill for every single bill from the beginning of services and to remove me from paperless services.
After this call I logged in to my internet account and removed paperless billing.
On Dec. 13, 2021 I received a paper bill in the mail that was printed and mailed from WM 10/15/2021 and $162 was due 11/14/2021.
Today, 11/14/2021 I called to discuss these issues. The representative hung up on me. I was not rude. I was patient and listened to her as she said she was navigating through the past issues. I waited and asked her if she could explain why my mailed bill took so long to get here and why my bill was tripled again. The call was disconnected from the opposite end and I heard a computer generated announcement that my call could no longer be processed.
Waste Management has not been able to intercept billing and customer service errors this fall and I would like some assistance and solution before I hold your property in non-compliance with our service agreements made in the past. I see evidence here that your company responds to complaints that seem like a re-direction. I have been re-directed past my own sense of satisfaction.
Consider this your bill:
$198 administrative fees
$3, 000.00 damages and storage combined caused as a result of your company's negligence.
I am willing to provide relief if you provide a written statement with includes removal of my current invoice fees plus any additional fees added above and beyond the current invoice dated 10/15/2021. This statement will also require that you include a signed promise that you will close my account as "paid in full" and will not provide any statements nor any other statements of value that can be shared with second and or third party organizations including but not limited to; Equifax, Transunion, Experian, aka credit reporting agencies nor any private persons, agencies, and or social media services, and or individuals.
I will release your filled green trash containers to you for your pick up after I receive your written, mailed via United States Postal Services, statement of acceptance if I receive it before 01/03/2022 by mail delivered to my current service address: 4550 N San Marcos Drive, Apache Junction, AZ 85120.
If I do not receive an acceptable response by you before 01/03/2021 this is your single notice that I refuse any and all of your company's arbitration attempts and I will file legal paperwork through our local courts via small claims.

You already have all of my contact information necessary. I received a notice of suspension bill for $175.50 yesterday that is dated December 20, 2021. Why did my original bill take so long to be mailed and your representative hung up on me on the day the incorrect bill was due? You can contact me at the phone number you have on my account. My email address was removed because I do not have access to my email at this time. I am not calling your phone numbers provided because I refuse to wait over an hour to speak with representatives that are rude and hang up on me. Again, correct the bill before Jan 3, 2022 and send it via mail and I will pay the corrected bill. If not, we will have to use other measures to satisfy these mistakes.

Waste Management [WM] Driver Does Not Pickup Trash & Recyclables

11/22 - Started service & given tracking for containers scheduled to arrive on 11/29.

11/29 - No containers arrive & curbside trash isn't picked up. No explanation given for both the delay or the reason why the house wasn't serviced (company policy is to do curbside pickup while waiting for containers to arrive).

12/06 - Called customer service & was informed about the current delay with new container orders, which okay, fine, but no explanation given for why the driver didn't service this home the previous week when every other house was serviced. Customer service assured me that they put in a note for the driver to do a curbside pickup this day, BUT NO SERVICE ANYWAY, SURPRISE SURPRISE.

12/07 - Called customer service yet AGAIN, but no new information given aside from the fact that it's likely going to be another 3-4 weeks before the containers arrive. I get the delay is happening with shipment and goods in general at the moment, but there's absolutely no excuse for why WM takes payment for service when I don't even get serviced and why their drivers don't do their actual jobs in accordance with company policy. Scheduled to be serviced on the 13th but let's be honest here, the driver's going to skip this home again for literally no reason at all.

Either the drivers don't know the company policy (highly unlikely, or otherwise WM does an awful job at employee training, which is unacceptable for a company this large) or the employees intentionally don't do their jobs because they're too lazy to get out of the car and manually pick up the trash bags like company policy dictates when bins haven't arrived yet. Clearly there's no internal communication of any kind becauee any "notes" customer service claims to have put in for the driver either goes unnoticed or ignored.

Nobody has answers why the drivers don't pick up the trash on the service day since the drivers don't even bother to leave a note, calling customer service is entirely useless because all they can do is parrot back the same message over and over like a broken record, stating that I'm scheduled for service and that they're not sure when the containers will actually arrive or why the driver hasn't serviced the home. No single apology or reasonable excuse given for this poor excuse of a service. Nonexistent service really, especially since apparently nobody does their job despite WM receiving payment.

Desired outcome: Refund me for the failed service in the last several weeks and either bring me my bins faster or get the driver(s) assigned to service the neighborhood to do their jobs and pick up the trash they're supposed to pick up.

Waste Management [WM] saftey matters

today I got a printed message that my garbage needs to be placed on opposite side of the road from my drive way. I am handicapped and have bad knees as it is. My safety is more of a concern than your garbage man that hits a button to retrieve a garbage can he never has to touch it to dump it.

Desired outcome: either it stays on my driveway or i will request the driver to come get my can since i am disabled he can walk the can to the street

Waste Management [WM] Yard debris can

Our garbage bill is over $80 every 2 months now. On November 18 at about 9am, I take my yard debris can out to get emptied. I come home that evening and it is still full. I think, maybe they came early that day. My bad. December 1, the day before pickup, I take the can out again. It doesn't get emptied. I call on Friday, they said it was marked as not at the curb, but will either get picked up that day or the following Monday by 6pm. It does not get picked up. I call again. The lady tells me that it was previously listed as a garbage pick up by the previous rep, not yard debris. Now I can either buy another can and leave 2 cans for pickup, or I can buy some special paper bags that will supposedly hold wet grass and drag them down my 200 foot driveway. This made me angry. She also said that I needed to call within 48 hours next time, to get a pickup that week. I say, "I did". She said "well, I'm sorry, you have to wait for 2 more weeks." I can't mow my lawn until I have a place to put the grass. This can has been full for over 1 month, and they want me to wait another 2 weeks. They screw up and almost blame it on me, then ask me to pay extra money to get it picked up for free? Missed cans have been getting more common. Please just own up and stop putting it on your customers. I'm still pretty irritated.

Waste Management [WM] Really overturned garbage pail with only leave s in it

We set out a garbage pail full of leaves. Now I understand if you want them bagged which is ridiculous because leave UNBAGGED are degradable and GOOD for the environment...BUT the garbage pail was turned over upside down leaving the leaves we raked the day before in a heap. I AM DISGUSTED WITH WASTE MANAGEMENT. Will petition for a new garbage company as the neighborhood is getting really upset! Next time we take videos of the poor service you are giving!

Waste Management [WM] missed pick up on my scheduled day

You missed picking up my garbage this last Thursday November 11th. I put the bin out on Wednesday evening so we won't miss the truck when it comes in the morning. Friday I called and notified your office and the lady said it would be collected that afternoon or on Saturday. Still not collected or any contact from your office. What the H is going on, we pay our bill. I know mistakes happen but when I'm told by your people it will be handled, that is what I expect.
