Lost Luggage as of August 31st, 2022
Checked in my luggage for flight AC1842 from Toronto Canada Pearson International Airport to Bridgetown Barbados on 31 August, 2022 @ 8:15 a.m.
Upon landing, my luggage was not available for retrieval baggage ticket #[protected]. Though, my father's luggage that was checked in exactly the same time and day did arrive safely - #[protected]
A delayed baggage tracking file reference # was given at the Grantly Adams International Airport in Bridgetown Barbados after almost 3 hrs post landing at 1:45 p.m.
To date, as of today, 9/9/22, local Air Canada associates have demonstrated zero compassion, no initiatives to assist above & beyond, no offering of a voucher for necessities, or updates with where my luggage is as of the last 9 business days.
All of my clothing, toiletries, shoes, swim wear, health supplements, with other essentials are in my lost luggage! To add further to this unpleasant experience, Air Canada destroyed my other luggage that I was forced to check in - pictures of this damaged luggage has already been submitted.
I've only today been offered CAS5030008R2F8Z5 that allegedly was issued on September 4th, 2022 accordingly to the agent I spoke to today Friday 9/9/2022. This has been a horrific & traumatic experience with no opportunity to enjoy my vacation.
Desired outcome: Luggage returned or $1,500 reimbursement to replace items in luggage misplaced. A full refund of airfare spent for a vacation that did not occur along with the inconvenience & embarrassment of luggage destroyed with contents lost.
Lost luggage for 5 days while on vacation!
On Wednesday August 31st, 2022, what began as a nostalgic trip with my 80 yrs young father turned into a disaster on Air Canada flight 1842 when I was forced to check in my "carry on" luggage which caused me to be separated from my father who required wheelchair assistance while in the airport. I was charged $50 CAD since it was a 2nd piece of luggage and it was totally destroyed upon arrival to Barbados with the contents of my suitcase scattered in a plastic see through bag with items missing; noticed once at our destination - how embarrassing an experience. Kindly take note of the continued horrific experiences and opportunities for improvement:
*As of today 9/5/22, my 1st check in luggage has not been found, with no "trace" of where it is (a sign of a poor system because Delta ALWAYS knows where the customers bags are located due to the luggage tracking system"
*At no time as Air Canada taken time to with genuine concern check in about my well-being or offered any compensation for me to purchase clothes, necessities, shoes, toiletries, make up, sleepwear, etc
*The delayed luggage department had the audacity to ONLY offer me $60 of the $80 in luggage fees, and get this, in eCredit form. I refused the gesture stating that was an insult and demanded it be refunded to my credit card - what an assumption to offer an eCredit - poor customer service & a lack of customer consideration
*No acknowledgement or gesture for Customer inconvenience and discomfort while without bare essentials & personal items
*Associates have very poor English & grammar ability with equipment that is low standard and barely audible - Air Canada could better invest in proper equipment and higher standard staffing - what a disservice to the general public who are already frustrated
*More intense training with the call center associates is required, they all sound like robots reading a script with no REAL empathy, compassion or relatable or problem solving skills
*Landed in Barbados on Wednesday August 31st, 2022, today is September 5th, 2022 - still without luggage and the incompetency of the Customer Care associates is truly appalling. Moreover, the staff in Barbados is even more pathetic because they place all responsibility for every issue or opportunity to resolve to the Toronto airport staff - not helpful whatsoever!
*Insult to injury, we were told that Barbados customs expects me to pick up luggage when it arrives because I'm a National - even though I do not reside here, we are told this is the policy - how ridiculous is that reasoning!
This trip has been a waste of money and overall disaster, with one luggage missing and the other totally destroyed and unfixable.
I will not ever fly Air Canada or recommend anyone who prefers best in class, genuinely friendly and credible service and systems to fly this airline, it has plummeted very low in their standards and customer service.
Desired outcome: $80 U.S. luggage fees. A check for $1,500 for items in my "misplaced" luggage & another check for $108 U.S. dollars to replace my newly purchased carry on luggage & another $500 for items not found in my luggage that were definitely packed!
Lost Baggage
I am a Sri Lankan student came to Canada for the September intake 2022 for Seneca college.
I came to Canada from YYZ Toronto Pearson Airport on 28th Aug 2022. But there I lost my baggage. It's almost one week now no respond from Air Canada or Airport regarding this. I filed complaint at the same day at the arrival air canada baggage service. My complaint reference is YYZAC 26269.
Also again I filed online forms regading the lost or damaged baggage. But no respond. I called two times today regarding this bag matter. But still no respond. According to worldtracer.com it shows that my baggage was sent from FRA frankfurt airport on 29th Aug 2022 from the flight AC841. But Aircanada customer agents say airport has not confirmed yet that they received the bag.
My boarding pass cheked baggage reference is UL944468.
It is a dark blue luggage with 2 front pockets with Zippers from the soft clothing material. Yellow ribbon has been on the top.
This bag is really important for me since it has all my clothings and other essential things.
I am really desperate and dissapointed for the thing happend because I am in a big trouble due to the loss of this bag.
Desired outcome: I urgently need to get my bag delivered since my college start on 06th September, so that I can't focus on my studies as well.
Money reimbursement for lost luggage inconvenience and flight changes the entire trip.
Air Canada is awful! They delayed, cancelled flights, re routed us and lost our luggage for 3 full days. We had to sprint through airports to catch our next planes and my mom has a hard time getting around due to medical issues. Customer service was awful! We lost the first 2 days of our trip and we were exhausted the entire trip from the bad start. They forced us to check our carry on luggage, so we had nothing when we got to Greece and had to go shopping for clothes, shoes, bathing suits and toiletries. We had to wash the clothes on our backs in the sink with hotel bodywash and had to sleep nude because no clean, dry clothes to wear the first night. They delayed our flight coming home too which caused us to miss our home flight. They tried to give us 2 more flights to get home after flying 10 hrs from Greece. We asked for 1 flight closer to our home and they accommodated that because I had to demand it! Absolutely terrible experience and I refuse to ever fly with them again! We paid big money for premium economy and they switched our seats around even though we picked seats well in advance, so we weren’t sitting together and my mom has medical issues and needs me close by her. We told them to change our seats back and they did for one flight going over but not the flight going home.

I also lost my hotel room in Paris and will not get refunded of it $ 180 some dollars. very angry and upset that your people were laughing and didn't even looked at me when answering a question how rude.
Desired outcome: my hotel room paid for or some kind of a credit at MCO
Lost Luggage
My family travelled from Toronto (Toronto - flight AC834) to Antalya (Turkey) through Munich (transit) on June 30, 2022, till today August 27, we have not received my daughter’s luggage with the following tag number:

Getting reimbursement for delayed and lost baggage
We flew from Los Angeles to Lisbon, Portugal on Air Canada on July 12 connecting through Toronto. None of our baggage arrived in Lisbon on time. Two of our bags were located and delivered to us in Portugal on July 20. A third was sent to Montreal and then finally returned to our home address in Los Angeles on August 10. Our fourth piece, a walker needed for mobility has never been delivered to us. The Apple Air Tag I attached to it says the walker is still in Lisbon. The WebTracer service says it has been forwarded to Los Angeles.
I have replaced the walker because I need it to get around.
I have been trying to find a way to file a claim for the cost of replacing the walker but the Air Canada baggage issue website does not offer any way to claim for replacement of an item that has never arrived. And their form for claiming interim expenses before baggage is delivered is extremely difficult to use. It looks like they have deliberately designed their site so that you are likely to give up trying to get reimbursement. I have also spent long times on hold with the central baggage office but without getting any real help.
Regulators should insist that Air Canada treat its customers better.
Desired outcome: Please provide me with a simple claim procedure for the cost of replacing my walker and the cost of interim expenses I incurred because of the delay in delivery of my other three bags.
Connecting Flight from Calgary, AB to Fort McMurray AB
My partner and I had booked a flight for Aug 21st from from Vancouver, BC to Fort McMurray, AB. Our flight in Vancouver was delayed by 45-50 minutes. Once we landed in Calgary, AB, I asked the flight attendants to please allow my boyfriend and I off as soon as we could in order to not miss our connecting from Calgary to Fort McMurray, AB. The flight attendants didn't help at all. We were stopped and I took my seat belt off to ask her for help to ensure we wouldn't miss our flight. Thr attendant just looked at me and stated that the seat belt sign is still on, and ignored me. Then I heard the attendant say to another attendant "Jesus" as if I was bothering her. We didn't get priority to get off. We made it to thr connectimg flight gate and they refused to wait for us and said we couldn't get on while it was STILL SITTING THERE... Air Canada has no regard to wait for others... And now we have to wait 6 hours for another flight. West Jet waits for their delayed connecting flights... Maybe you need to learn consideration like West Jet. Your attendants are incredibly rude! I was disgusted in the service.
Air Canada employees service
I booked a premiere flight thro your website. Then you changed the day and time without my permission with economy class, which it was not fair. On the top of this frustration you charged me $100 for my luggage when it was international premiere class which you should not supposed to. I want my $100 back. Attached the receipt. I want to cancel my flight for my illness mother. I hope this time you will help and waive the cancellation fee.

delayed domestic flight
On Aug. 14, 2022, the flight #1994 was delayed from 16.40 to close to 19 from Calgary to Toronto.
My booking was 4TBWB1 for two passengers(original flight 148 was reassigned to #1994) The original flight was cancelled that day, but the assigned flight was delayed several times.
Is there compensation for the numerous delays of #1994? For instance, will there be a discount on a coupon for a new booking?
Thank you for your attention regarding this delay.
Jane Shen
Desired outcome: discount on a coupon for a next flight
Delays and cancellations
On july 4 were booked on a flight from Ottawa to Deer Lake, via Hlifax. The flight to Halifax was uneventful but in Halifax our flight was cancelled and we were informed we would be overnighting in Halifax and were given taxi vouchers, meal vouchers and voucher for a downtown hotel. We were told the airline would be in touch. The following morning, we still had not heard anything, so we tried phoning but got only voicemail. At check out time we used our return voucher to go back to the airport. we went to the aircanada desk, and a young lady who was just as frustrated as we were told us we had slipped through the cracks ,had not been rebooked and the flight to Deer Lake had already left and they saw no point in calling us because the Plane was fully loaded and there would be NO seat for us for three days After some time they decided we had 2 options. Fly back to montreal and catch a direct to Deer Lake arriving abt 2am on July 6 which meant we would be 48 hrs late arriving in Deer Lake. the 2nd option was to fly to St. Johns laler that day and find our own way to deer Lake. We choose the later'
We are requesting the max refund of 2000$
Desired outcome: 2000.00 cheque for compensation.

Delay in flight - lost luggage - missed flight -
Hello my name is imran chaudhary
I was travelling with my family; which included me, my wife and 5 kids from Toronto to Lahore Pakistan (with 3 stops in between which we had booked)
These r all the problems we faced
1 delay from Toronto to London, which made us miss our qatar flight, which we were delayed for 1.5 days
2. No luggage received until 2 weeks after we arrived in pak, finally on July 16th, received 12 pieces and one stroller,
One piece of luggage was also ripped and damaged
We got one piece of luggage one week after we landed, July 8th
3 we had to pay 519 UK pounds per room, they made us get 3 rooms,
Also incident in room, where I was lying in hotel room bed, my wife was in bathroom, and a strange man entered the room with key that the front desk have him by mistake - which is another huge complaint
We had to pay 45 pounds, each taxi, we took 2 taxes total, airport personnel, taxi guy, lied to us saying we had to take 2 taxis, when on the way back the next day, one taxi took us back for 35 p
4 because we didn't receive any luggage for 2 full weeks, we had to go out and buy 3 or 4 articles of clothing for each family member, I have receipts for all saved
5. Had to take taxi 2 times, back and forth to and from airport in Pakistan, to get the pieces of luggage, I have receipts for that as well
6 when we got to the airport to go back home to Canada, August 8, when we got to the airport, they said, qatar airways is over booked and would have to place us on the next flight 24 hours later, and would be compensating is $250 American for each person (x7 people)
Then the agent at the pakistani airport said, that our original departure ticket details, from Toronto to London, was coded as "O", meaning open, meaning I the air canada system showing that we had not even traveled from Toronto to London, even though we were already in Pakistan, and even though I was at the airport now, to go back to Toronto, I asked what does that have to do with me traveling back to Toronto,
The agent, and agents manager, Tamur, said that as long as it's showing open, they cannot book us to go back to Toronto, and we could not get the 24 hour bump up option because of that
So we had to take all the 13 pieces of luggage back home in Pakistan, via taxi, and called air canada, and they booked us a flight o August 10, to go back,
So we had to go back on the 10th, ofclurse bow, having no confidence in what air canada was doing to us,
This new flight was Pakistan to abu dhabi, abu dhabi to London, London to Canada.
We had to delay our stay 2 more days, of which I didn't get paid for work, and neither did my wife.
7. When we arrived I canada, august 10th, we had to stay in the plane for over 50 minutes after the plane had landed, as they said the re was congestion in the airport with other passengers
8 then when we went to get our luggage, we were missing one piece of which we filled out that report at the airport and have not yet received
On August 11th
Desired outcome: compensation for the hotel stay in London, over $3400 CDN ,compensation for the taxis I had to take in London and Pakistan, for the clothes and food that for the delay and missing of the flights , - compensation for pain and suffering
Ticket Charge Discrepancy
On June 11, 2022, I purchased a Business Class Lowest ticket for a flight from YYZ to LAS (Booking Reference: 2G28LY) and I paid C$2,128.72. On July 28, 2022, I had to changed the booking to a different date and lower class fare (because Business Class Lowest was not available) and was charged an additional C$1.53 for a total payment to you of C$2,130.25.
Today, on 08 August, 2022, I called AC and attempted to upgrade the seats again to Business Class Flex and I talked to Ellie, an AC representative. I was told that it would cost an extra C$1,306.16 even though the fares are advertised online for C$1,487 outbound and C$1,432 for the return flight, which amounts to an increase in cost to me of only C$889. I was told that the difference of over C$400 in cost to change the flights is because I "lost value" in the first flight change that I made because the new seats were economy seats rather than Business Class (why did I not get a refund?).
My complaint is that I was never informed, either during the ticket change or at any time afterwards of the purchase and confirmation process that I had "lost value" that you, at AC, conveniently cashed in and put in your coffers. This underhanded "lost value" transaction smells of poor business ethics and practices and, as such, I perceive as fraudulent. It would very much appreciate it, if you would correct this wrong in an adequate monetary form. I have been a good AC customer for many years and usually fly Business Class. I would be very disappointed if you would not address this money grab to my full satisfaction. Best regards, Horst Kaminski (Aeroplan # [protected])
Desired outcome: It would very much appreciate it if you would correct this wrong in an adequate monetary form.
Customer Service
I requested compensation for my flight being cancelled and I was denied, so I sent an additional email requesting a reason for why my claim was denied. It has been over a month and I have not yet received a response to my email. In addition, I cannot contact customer relations over the phone; it must be through email. I can provide a case number if Air Canada contacts me directly.
Desired outcome: I would like for Air Canada to contact me with a satisfactory reason my claim was denied, or to provide me with $1000 compensation for causing my flight to be delayed over 24 hours.

Delayed Baggage Claim
On July 10th, 2022, I submitted an Interim Expense Claim to Air Canada's Central Baggage Office (Dorval, Quebec Office) in the amount of $1,143.77 for baggage delayed during our vacation to Ireland and the UK, from June 24th thru July 4th, 2022. While one piece of luggage was returned to us within 21 days of the loss, a second was not returned for 33 days. Despite making a written claim to Air Canada for the cost of the baggage delay (with attachments) on July 10th and a follow-up Request on July 28th, 2022, I have received no acknowledgement of my claim.
Please indicate if my Claim is being processed and if a File/Confirmation number has been assigned. Thank you.
Ron Gaffney, Baggage Tracking #YFC12627, Tel: [protected]; Email ron.e.[protected]@gmail.com.
Desired outcome: Acknowledgement of Claim; Payment of Loss.
Baggage and canceled flight
08/02/2022 Vancouver to Toronto flt number 124
08/03/2022 Toronto to Charlotte, flt number 8745 was cancelled
Rebooked on AC flt 8680 to Baltimore and then AA609 to Charlotte.
My bags (baggage tag # [protected]) never made it. Upon arrival I reported to AA that my bag did not arrive. She thought it would be on the afternoon flight from Toronto but it was not. I have talked to AA 4 times and Air Canada 4 times. AA will not enter the claim into the system because the bag is still associated with the AC8745 flight and not the AA 609 flight. AC will not enter because my terminating flight was with AA. HELP! I can not even get in the system. My phone number is [protected].
Desired outcome: BAGS found and returned to me at my home address. The Charlotte airport is 2.5 hours from my home. Would like to talk to someone that speaks clear ENGLISH and understands the situation.
canceled flight
Booking 3SEA9F - for 6 passengers in total *note these flights were booked to coincide with a cruise out of NYC
AC 8984 flight July 26th Departure YYZ 8am - arrival in LGA 9:26am
AC 8989 flight Aug 3rd Departure LGA 2:45pm - arrival in YYZ 4:19pm
on june 24th - the flight 8989 return was changed (without notification) to a earlier time slot , we called our agent as the disembarkation of our cruise would not allow us to meet this new "earlier" time change. due to this change , No opportunity was given to us to accept or confirm this new change. we had to pay an additional 120USD per person (total $720USD) in order to get a later time with flight AC8991. so we could meet the flight returning from our cruise.
on July 26th at midnight.. we notice our flight AC 8984 for 8AM was CANCELLED, we immediately called our agent and they advised a rebooking was made for departure of 2:30pm at YYZ & arrival 3:59pm in LGA ; our boarding time for the cruise was 12:30-1pm ; final boarding is 3pm - this left us no choice but to drive in our personal car in order to make our cruise on time.
our agent cancelled the bookings with Air Canada, but we are reaching for flight disruption compensation.
we had spent 720 USD initially on the return flight change, plus we had to pay 240 in gas and parking for our SUV at the cruise terminal $310.27 USD. (plus wear & tear on my SUV)
we spent 10 hrs driving there in complete stress trying to make our cruise in time, and than after our holiday make another 10hr drive home. we booked to fly with air Canada so we could travel with piece of mind. but this caused more panic and inconvenience , with 6 passengers , luggage and a walker for disability all crammed into an SUV for that length of time vs. the 1.5hr flight. we hoped to fly again but this cancellation had left us stranded and stressed out immensely.
we hope to reach out to Air Canada and address this matter. looking forward to hearing back from you.
thank you Luigi Melcore.
Desired outcome: refund and compensation
Bad service
I was two mins late at check in and your ticket agent did not even try to book me on another flight, she handed us a piece of paper to call Air Canada where you can NOT speak with anyone ever, she obviously cared nothing about me or trying to assist me. I am FED UP with Air Canada, Ive been flying with your airline for more than 20 yrs and this is the way you treat your customers, shame on you!
Desired outcome: better service
