Plus the roof in the bathroom has mold on the ceiling
the entire room/stay
When checking in we were told there was A continental breakfast. When we got there it was 2 packs of muffins that's it. The juice machine was only old water with mold that came out if it. We had to stay awake all night to watch our car because of the prostitutes and "pumps" wandering around as well as open drug deals in parking lot. I killed 7 roaches in the matter of just the first couple hours. Towels were dirty linens stained. We were in room 222 and it was supposed to be a non smoking room. It smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and marijuana. This was the location in Macon Ga off I475 exit 3. I would appreciate being contacted by someone in the corporate office referring to this matter. ASAP! You can reach me at [protected] or [protected]@gmail.com with a way for me to contact somwone directly. Thank you!

unsatisfactory stay
My daughter and I arrived to the motel at 300 Peartree lane Phoenix Oregon on 9/29/18 at 9:00pm. The outter lights were all out because of a storm. Ok fine. We went to sleep only to be awakened by the fire alarm going off at 1:30 am. A half hour it went off. Couldn't get back to sleep. No one would answer the phone or tell us what was going on. The light kept flickering all night. Then we got up to take showers in The morning and there was no hot water. This stay was miserable to say the least. I asked the lady at the front desk (who was wearing a completely unprofessional "moo-moo" to make it right and all she did was take $20 off this horrible stay which was an already absurd $97.02. So I paid $77.02 for a sleepless night and a cold shower. There was a stain on the sheets as well. When I explained to the lady the situation I didn't even mention the sheet. That doesn't seem very sanitary or professional to me. Also she told me that the storm had messed up the water situation then in another sentence told me they had a "crew" staying there so they must've used up all the hot water. I hope you will refund the entire nights stay.
hygiene
My wife is staying at Americas Best Value Inn 200 Shackleford Road Little Rock Arkansas 72211. She's staying in room 143. There was blood on her sheets and black mold on the walls water stains on ceilings holes in the wall and it even says it on your Chrome review board when you Chrome that hotel and she did write the review I'm submitting pictures and the video.
black mold in bathroom
When getting dressed after a shower I found black mold under the bathroom sink area. The room was filthy. The pool was not open. The walking area's were full of drug paraphernalia and when these issues were brought before management they seemed not phased . I informed them I was going to notify corporate on how they were running your name into the dirt.
hotel
My husband and I stayed at America's Best Value Inn and suites on Bloomington in Champaign, Ill On Sept 28th, we booked for 3 nights...the room was awful and smelled of smoke and the bed linens were in really bad shape, the room was hot and didnt the air didnt work properly...during the night we had a family emergency which cut our trip short and we needed to leave on the 29th. The manager would not give us a refund for the other two nights we had booked, he said he may give us one night back but we left there angry and with no confirmation of either night being refunded. We have stayed at this Hotel in the past, we have family here and come 2 tines a year...that didnt matter to him that we were repeat guests. We will never stay there again and dont appreciate how we were treated, he was yelling at his front desk staff and us. so many issues with this place, its BAD and un kept...I felt bad for the front desk clerk. Its a long but short story. My girl and i stayed at Americans best value inn. Port jefferson station. For 29 consecutive days. We realized that we got charged 145 for every single day. Now everyone knows it's more on the weekend excetera excetera. To make it worse, we both left their sick, that resulted in a beautiful 22 year old girl dying. Now I had to leave the state for a few months right after we left but the day I returned I tried calling and reaching out to America's Best Value Inn with no success. For a week and a half no one wanted to tell me when the manager was going to be in because one of the employees told me I had to speak with him. I finally spoke to him today with no success and honestly the guy made me cry with the disrespectful comments. Naturally they say we were all of these things that were bad but now I say to them if we were so bad why didn't you tell us leave? And in regards to the money, well I need to speak to someone ASAP. One more thing we took a video of the bathroom ceiling leaking every time it rained, because we didn't want to be blamed for it. We tried to get moved to another room with no success two and three different times. I'm sure you have questions and so do I.
cancellation
My granddaughter had been driving cross country from California heading to Georgia. It got to be late in the evening so she called America's Best Value Hotel at 4060 LaMar Avenue in Memphis, TN. She booked the room through Expedia while still driving and about an hour from the hotel. When she arrived they should she wasn't 21 and couldn't stay (she's 20). They said Expedia would have to call the manager (Megan) of the hotel the next day to get a refund. I called Expedia today and they said they denied a refund. I called the hotel directly and asked for Megan. The woman answering said she was Megan and when I asked her if she was the manager she said she worked there. I couldn't get a manager and Megan said she was aware that the refund was denied. She said I needed to call Expedia which I already had and she said she couldn't help. The whole time I was talking to her she had a child screaming and talking in the background (I believe it wasn't a customers child either but hers). I don't feel I should be charged and am requesting a refund. I will never deal again with an America's Best Value and will not recommend it to anyone. I would appreciate a response ASAP.
filthy room. unsafe environment
We stayed September 21-23. Requesting partial or full refund.
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. First off, tried calling numerous times to get an earlier check in (literally only 1 hr). Phone rang and rang and eventually someone picked up and slammed the phone down. Got there early to see if we could check in and they told us we'd have to wait 30 minutes. When we finally walked in the entry closest to our room, our noses were met with the strongest smoke smell believed to man. Crossing our fingers our room wouldn't smell. Should have crossed our toes as well because that room smelled terrible. Not only did it smell terrible, things were so dated and visibly dirty. The bed skirting was ripped on both beds, there were only two TINY lifeless pillows on each bed, bedding was dirty, the table was sticky as heck, there were no outlet covers on some of the outlets (major no-no), there were dirty towels in the bathroom. We didn't want to complain because we weren't going to be in this room for that long. Basically just to sleep. We ended up running across the road to Target and buying cheap/clearance bedding to ease out minds. First night we could hear constant stamping and other loud noises down the hall. First morning we go down to get breakfast and it was TERRIBLE. Three options: toast, cereal and bland waffles. Not even a single piece of fruit. Ended up going out for breakfast. Came back and our keys didn't work to get back into our room. Waited and WAITED at the front desk to get new keys. No one ever showed up so we decided to leave and come back later. Eventually got new keys but in no way is it acceptable for no one to be at the desk EVER. Second night we AGAIN could hear loud noises in the hallway. Packed up our things and left that morning. Leaving behind a new pillow and pillowcases for the room (hoping the next guests would be pleased). Multiple people in the hotel made comments about being afraid they were taking home bed bugs among other things. As other reviewers have stated, there is are lot of sketchy things going on at this hotel. We did not feel 100% safe what so ever. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, even at the cheap price. NOT WORTH IT. Have stayed in cheaper hotels that were dated but at least was clean. DO NOT STAY HERE.
Dispute with your credit card company. These reviews are ALL horrible. It is so apparent corporate doesn't care. Management trickles from above. I had a similar horrible experience with Bradenton, Florida location. The company name has proven themselves.
poor experience room wise
We used America's Best Value in for 9 nights while on a trip recently- the room we had in San Diego from Sept 13-20 was good other than small details (no water pressure in shower, bed so firm we had sore backs) but what was upsetting is the fact that the pool was shut down on the last 2 days of our stay- and no breakfast!
The cost is very comparative to other rooms offering breakfast- which seemed odd
We loved the pool time and used it daily- having it down for 2 days due to improper chemicals was disappointing! someone should have checked that!
We also had 2 nights in Seattle/Tacoma where the water pressure was better but the temperature went from burning hot to freezing cold and was shocking!
Also, one of the rooms we had was smoke filled so we switched for another
We put a lot of money into 9 nights and would like a credit on this please-
We would consider coming back just want some of the details sorted out thanks
Please give us a credit to be able to use again in USA thanks
everything
the whole entire hotel room smelled horrible. There were drug addicts and thieves all over the place. And the bathroom and room itself was covered in filth dirt and hair.and the morning after staying here I woke with bites all over my body. I began to search for bed bugs and I immediately found two alive. And then I found multiple markings and signs of bed bugs on the sheets and box springs. even the reviews for the hotel say that the hotel has bed bugs I'm not the first one to say it.
hotel room
We checked into our room on Saturday afternoon and there was a huge hole all the way through the bathroom door, the a/c knob was broke, there was a hole in the couch and it was very dirty and a black line through the tv screen. I have pictures of all these items if you need them. We checked out 2 hours later after excessive noise woke us up. A refund Wes denied. We are very loyal customers to America's best but now I am afraid to rent a room from another America's best.
staff/management/room charge
My name is Kristin Nickerson. My family stayed at the America's Best Value Inn and Suites in Maryville, Missouri on September 21 and 22, 2018, while visiting the area for a family reunion. On Saturday, the second day of our stay, my daughter, Kamryn Nickerson, alerted me to an additional $150.00 charge on her debit card, as she had booked our rooms through booking.com. When she inquired after the charges, Dan, the young man at the front desk, informed her that she was being charged a cleaning fee due to someone allegedly smoking marijuana in room 143, the room her step-father and I were staying in. As the charge wasn't discovered until late that evening, Dan informed us that he couldn't address this and gave us his manager's phone number. We felt it was too late in the evening around 10 pm to call her. So, my husband sent her a text message informing her that we would like to discuss the matter with her in the morning, which is when we were informed that she would arrive at the hotel. We were also told that someone named Felicia might be in at 10 pm and we could dispute the charge with her. Neither Felicia nor the manager ever showed. My husband went to the front desk in the morning to inquire after the manager. He was informed that she would not be in. The thought of leaving this unresolved and returning to Michigan, when we had done nothing wrong was difficult to accept. So, he called the manager again. She hung up on him. The young lady working the front desk Sunday morning admitted that she contacted the manager regarding a particular smell she allegedly noticed coming from our room. The manager instructed her to place the charge on my daughter's bill. The manager herself claims that she overheard my husband and I alluding to the fact that we were sending our 9 and 5 year old children out of the room so we could smoke. All of these allegations are absolutely false. We never smoked in the room...not even one time. I encouraged Dan to come to our room Saturday evening to smell for anything that shouldn't have been there, and he refused. The young lady that is accusing us of smoking in our room was laughing in my husband's face when he confronted her about it. She also refused to give him her first name. The manager was on the phone with her instructing her to call the police. She threatened us with a K-9 unit. We invited her to do so. Consequently, the police were called. The officers informed us they were merely there to oversee our removal from the hotel due to my husband's loud disagreement regarding the charge...that the hotel has the right to refuse service to anyone. When they came to our room, I invited the officers to search our room. And, to inhale deeply while doing so, as they are certainly trained to detect marijuana smell. Officer Wayne Wilson, badge #202, of Maryville Public Safety, stated that he couldn't smell anything out of the ordinary in our room. He also stated that he would be willing to come to court with us if necessary, as he felt the whole situation was completely uncalled for. He stated that, if any marijuana had been smoked in the room within the last 24 hours, the smell would be obvious. We informed the officers that my husband has a medical marijuana card from Michigan where we live. The manager of the hotel called him a liar until he produced the card for the young lady on the phone with her. We explained that he had prepared his medication in the room prior to going out to our vehicle to medicate. I showed the officers all the text messages from Friday and Saturday proving that my daughter either came to our room while he went outside to medicate or my smaller children went to her room while he went outside to our vehicle. The manager then stated, via the young lady she was speaking through on the phone, that text messages don't mean anything. Fortunately, I know that text messages absolutely hold up in a court of law. This whole situation was handled unprofessionally from the beginning. There is absolutely zero evidence that anything was smoked in the room. No one even cleaned the room on Saturday. We requested fresh towels from the housekeeping staff that was outside our room. If I ate a smelly fish dinner in our room and disposed of everything outside the room, would I be charged a cleaning fee because my room smelled bad while I was eating, but not after? So, my 9 and 5 year olds woke up to police officers at the door. Because Daddy was visibly upset, they were justifiably frightened. And, I had to explain to them that we were being kicked out of the hotel. That's inexcusable. A staff member's personal beliefs regarding matters such as these should never trump legality and professionalism. I am respectfully requesting that the $150.00 cleaning fee be returned to my daughter's card. The police found absolutely nothing wrong.
dirty linen and bugs dirty towels
I am complaining about bugs dirty linen dirty towels dirty TV stand it looks like our towels was reused by pass guest. After my stay I went downstairs and I showed the attendance the bugs and our dirty towels he gave me a number to speak with a guy named Jason he said he was a supervisor and that we can contact him concerning this matter I tried to reach out to Jason via email also voicemail but did not get any response
Read full review of Americas Best Value Inndispute for quality of service, unethical service and, hospitality unsanitation hotel room and not in compliance by law
My husband Ryan, and I stayed at Americas Best Value Inn/ Golden Bear (Americas Best Value Inn - Berkeley/San Francisco) at 1620 San Pablo Ave, Berkeley, CA 94702 from 9/12/18-9/14/18 for a business trip for my husband.. We checked in late the evening of 9/12/18. After we went in to our hotel room #131, we noticed discovered that the bathroom window was open with no screen. When we tried to close the window, it would not shut. several bugs were flying in through the open window and they were in the bathroom and room. Also, the bathroom bulb was flickering, clearly needed to be changed to a new bulb. I called the front desk and spoke to the woman (same person we checked in with on 9/12/18) and I told her about the issues discovered and I asked to changed us to another room and for a discount. She offered only $5 dollars off, and said they were full and could not change our room. There were only a few cars in the parking lot and several vacant rooms on 9/12/18, so she lied about being full, it was obvious that the motel was not full.
It was not until the next day, 9/13/18, as my husband was getting up and ready to leave for meetings, that we discovered the heater was not working. It as central air/heat panel actually hidden behind the wall television. Once we found the panel, I squeezed my hand under the television to try to turn up the heater. It would not turn on. It was set to 72 degrees, and would not allow us to turn it any higher, as well as the wall heater, not working at all. So the room was freezing and was well below even the 782 degrees shown on the panel. They only had a fan with a string to pull to turn on above the bed. No air conditioning or heater was working. Next, we found the while taking a shower, that the bathtub would fill up with dirty water from the drain, and the drain would not drain basically. It was so disgusting and awful and my husband had to rush to his meetings for the day and evening with no time for us to switch hotels. If we had discovered earlier hat the heater and bathtub/shower drain was not working(plumbing issues) we would not have stayed there.
When we checked out on 9/14/18, I asked the girl at the front desk if I could speak with the manager and I stated all of the issues. She said that she was sorry, and she would have the manger call me that day before charging my debit card for $342.
I never heard from the manager that day and so I called several times and they would not answer the phone, as it went to a Full voice mail. Finally on Monday 9/17/18, the manager, Kanal called me. I explained all of the issues and he apologized, admitting guilt, only offer 25% off. I asked for 50% off and he said no. I filed with my bank a Dispute of Quality and service in order to waive all fees for our terrible experience.
We are shocked by our experience and disappointed as we have always had a good experience at Americas Best Value Inn. I am requesting that this hotel waives our fee and that a inspection occurs as well. This hotel at 1620 San Pablo Ave, Berkeley, CA 94702 is not up to code.
Sincerely,
I attempted to check in to the America's Best Value Inn, located at 1990 E, Rees Street, Breaux Bridge, LA 70517 on 12/31/2018. (New Year's Eve.) The hotel appeared to be mostly empty. A foreigner (young man likely in early 20's) quoted me a rate and showed me a room (102) close to the office. I agreed to rent the room and he took my driver's license and credit card. After he copied them, I noticed a "no pets" sign hanging on the wall. I mentioned that I have a "licensed, registered, Service Dog". He wanted to see documentation, (which is a violation of law--see below), but I readily produced, it anyway. He was satisfied with my proof, but still refused to rent me the agree upon room and tried to switch me to a different, less desirable, room. The ADA requires EQUAL ACCESS to Americans with disabilities and his refusal to rent me that room ... when it had previously been offered, violated my EQUAL ACCESS to that room, which he would rent to someone without a disability. I asked to speak with the manager, and he produced an older foreigner, who likewise refused to offer me the previously offered room. These foreigners (Iraqi? Iranian? Or whatever they are) feel they can thumb their noses at our laws. They seem to think they can be lawless here, as they are in their own countries. I recommend that this motel be dropped from the America's Best Value Inn group. I intend to file a legal claim with the US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, and ask that they be convicted, and deported.
I produced:
"Heidi"--Registered Service Dog

Section § 35.136 Service animals part "f" of the Americans with Disabilities Act says:
(f) Inquiries. A public entity shall not ask about the nature or extent of a person's disability, but may make two inquiries to determine whether an animal qualifies as a service animal. A public entity may ask if the animal is required because of a disability and what work or task the animal has been trained to perform. A public entity shall not require documentation, such as proof that the animal has been certified, trained, or licensed as a service animal. Generally, a public entity may not make these inquiries about a service animal when it is readily apparent that an animal is trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability (e.g., the dog is observed guiding an individual who is blind or has low vision, pulling a person's wheelchair, or providing assistance with stability or balance to an individual with an observable mobility disability.
Law states: "When it is not obvious what service an animal provides, only limited inquiries are allowed. Staff (or members of the public) may ask two questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. Staff cannot ask about the person’s disability, require medical documentation, require a special identification card or training documentation for the dog, or ask that the dog demonstrate its ability to perform the work or task."
What is a Service Dog?
The United States Department of Justice defines a Service Animal through the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 as any guide dog, signal dog, or other animal specifically trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability. If an animal meets this definition, it is considered a Service Animal regardless of whether they have been licensed or certified by a state or local government. Please visit the Delta Society for more information on Service Dogs.
hotel
I've never had such a horrible hotel experience in my life I paid for a room woke up bitten by bedbugs an cockroaches in the bed an on the room floor, I immediately went downstairs to management I was told there is no manger on duty, so I left my contact information an checked out never receiving any call, so I reached out to the hotel an they swore this didn't happen but it did, avoid staying here at all cost ..
safety
I have never had such a horrible experience with a hotel in my life. This past Saturday, My boyfriend, two of my girlfriends, and I, stayed at your Hotel in Belvidere. We reserved two rooms, one for my boyfriend and I, and one for the two girls. After our outing that evening, we returned to the hotel and hung out for a little while in room 221 together. While we were outside smoking a cigarette together, we a strange man pacing outside of room 217 (our other room). He then pulled out keys and entered room 217, removed our belongings that we had placed the outside the door. We immediately told him that was our room, but he replied (very drunkenly) that he needed somewhere to stay because he was fighting with his wife (whom he lived with at the hotel in the next room-219). He said that he worked there and had keys to all of the rooms. He said he could go in whichever room he pleased. We again told him that is not okay and that we paid for that room. He then pulled the belongings back in the room and continued to stay in there.
We then left and decided to go to the front desk to get help with this situation. The front office was locked with a sign that said, "be back in 5 minutes." We waited more than five minutes and realized that no one was coming back. Scared, because he was still in our room, we decided to call the non-emergency police. They decided it was an emergency and sent multiple officers over. They confronted the man, and he began screaming at the police. After they calmed him down, took our story and accounts of the situation, they took away his keys and sent him to his room/home.
After the police left, we had the girls stay in room 221 with us and left 217 vacant due to fear of strange men entering.in the morning, as we emptied our room to depart, the man from the night before was on the balcony watching our every move and following us around. We then went to check out and explain the situation to the woman at the front desk.
The lady who checked us in the day before was there Sunday morning to check us out. As I gave her the keys, she says in an accusatory tone "what is this I hear about you calling the police? Why would you do that?" Now, I am enraged. We begin to explain what this employee did; she tried to defend him the whole time. Apparently, this employee (named Bryan) had told her a bunch of lies before we even got there. He said we had 20 people up there and that he was emptying garbage at 3 am? We told her we were happy to call the police back to confirm our story, situation, and amount of people that were there. The woman continued to say, "well maybe he was drinking..." That should not be an excuse. While we are arguing with her, Bryan (the intruder) barges into the office and starts to yell at us in front of the lady, she does nothing. He tells us to, "get the [censored] out of there," and that "we are never [censored]ing staying here again." Still the lady does nothing. He finally storms out after more verbal harassment and she says, she will be taking his keys after he is done "cleaning." I ask for the minimum of at least the room we weren't able to be use to be refunded. She said she couldn't because we paid online and that she would talk to her manager. I still have seen nothing, that employee still works there, and I am so upset I can barely contain it. This is seriously concerning and I hope you can fix this.
This is far more concerning than the condition of the hotel room (blood stained mattresses, run down everything, foggy water etc.).
The owner took full responsibility for the situation and issued us a full refund. He removed the individual that was posing as a threat and said he will not be welcome back on the premises. He also comped us a free stay with him next time we are in that area. He was very respectful, empathetic, and understanding. I feel much better.
all
This place was a joke.. when we checked in, the gentleman was nice and helpful.. but come morning time, things changed.. the lady was pleasant until I showed her a picture of bed bugs and all the bites my daughter had.. she quickly canceled the other reservation and told me she couldn't move us.. that the room has to be closed off.. I asked about transferring rooms.. she said she couldn't do that because the bugs would transfer.. so I said you was ok with us going to another hotel and moving the bugs we got from you... she said" you can put your stuff in the dryer, they hate heat." She made us feel like we brought them with us..
So placing our money on the card and no cash, no place to stay.. big inconvenience.. all she could do was say I followed policy and did all I can do..
rates and how people are treated
We became homeless and come to the hotel there was nobody here in parking lot we asked for a room and they said they had only one left the jacuzzi suit and charged us 86 plus tax the next day at 5 am there was still nobody in these rooms they wanted to move us to a room that was going to be 65 a night I told them I couldn't afford that so they moved us to a really small room for 50 if I paid 150 or more at one time. since then I have seen these people tell and charge outrageous prices to people just now a guy got charged 108 for a room I don't understand the whole back side of the building has nobody in it and they don't have maids that clean room they do it thereselves and we can't have visitors even though I'm paying for the room. I am a father of 4 if my kids can't come and see me something is wrong.
