Non-delivery
I have been a long time customer of your company. I ordered propane on February 1, 2023. I gave instructions as to where the driver needed to fill the tank. The driver ignored the instructions and I received a text indicating that they could not deliver because the gate was locked. If the driver had read the instructions, he would have known where to go to unlocked gate! Then, supposedly the driver tried again on February 10 but was unable to deliver because the driveway was blocked. There is no driveway! Since these two issues, I am now down to less than 8% in my tank. I have called numerous times and yet, no delivery. All I get is a bunch of crap and excuses! Your company is the absolute worst. I pay my bill on time every month! I just wish your company had more respect for its customers. It is quite obvious that you do not care.
Desired outcome: Fill my tank!
Propane delivery, or lack their of
We have called numerous times regarding the delivery of propane. We called when the tank was at 8%. We called when it was at 4%. Every time, we were assured we would get a delivery the next day. We talked to representatives in Mexico and the Philippines.
As of February 4th, our tank has been EMPTY. We are without heat, cooking ability, and hot water.
This is unacceptable. We are suspending our account.
Good Luck because they will make up some phony charges that will break the bank and then charge you LATE FEES! This company SUCKS!
Never delivered gas and failed to send refund
I paid Amerigas in advance on 12/22/22 for delivery between 12/26/22 and 1/02/23. They never showed up. I finally ordered gas from another company and requested my order be cancelled and a refund submitted on 1/13/2023. I was advised I'd receive a refund within 10 business days. Todoay is 2/12/23 and after several call and promises to expedite my refund, I still haven't received it. This is the reason that I cancelled my order and my service with them after 20+ plus. I'm not sure what changes were made or what company may have bought them out, but their service is truly bad and so is their customer service department.
R. Davis
Desired outcome: I need by money returned to me expeditiously.
Delivery of propane
I ordered propane for our home on 1/24/2023 - I have yet to receive it even after at least seven calls including one to corporate. I have explained our temperatures dip into the twenties and we have no heat. I have also explained we are two senior citizens. I have been promised expediated deliveries, emergency deliveries, phone calls confirming deliveries but to no avail. We cannot wash clothes or use our stove. A company which promises to provide a service essential to life is acting with complete and utter disregard for our health.
Desired outcome: Propane delivered as soon as possible.
Pick up of tank and unused gas
My name is James Tyree and we have been customers of Amerigas for many years, at least over 22 years. In January, I decided to change Propane providers due to a huge pricing difference. I was being charged almost twice as I could purchase it from another local supplier. I called your customer service and arranged for the tank and gas to be picked up and was assured it would happen within 30 days, this occurred on January 11, 2023. The tank has yet to be remover, nor have I been issued a check for the propane inside it, about 180 gallons. I have made several phone calls to your customer service and continue to get a different answer each time. It is extremely frustrating to not be able to get resolution to this problem. I have called customer service at least 5 times.
Desired outcome: Pick up tank issue check for unused propane!
Charging for removal of a tank
This last spring I tried to call your company come and get the tank I was renting from you. Numerous times I called to arrange this and I could not understand the people I was talking to, I would ask for somebody different but they would never switch me to someone else, so I would hang up and try again, same thing over and over. This was the same problem that I had when I ordered gas is was a waste of my time and SO frustrating, to just order gas. Should be name and address and amount in the tank. I am not paying for removal of a tank that I have been renting for years! That should be part of the rent process. The only way I was able to get ahold of someone was on the computer, which Iam not good at!
Desired outcome: A clear bill with no charges on it .
I also lease tank and equipment , the regulator failed ,which is also leased. they want me to pay for the replacement! and also tried calling alot,I mean a lot, please wait for the next rep. after 20min I hang up, so tried emailing them ,no surprise they don't answer them ether, so I tried live chat... what a joke , no one to chat with... I been with them for at least 10yrs ,not once did they inspect any equipment ,Really I don't think they understand what lease means... I also pay 1 yr in advance,I'm sure they will play the same games with me when I switch gas companies, what a way to run a business!
delivery
I have been with Amerigas for a while. I always prepay my gas for the winter. This gives me auto delivery. Now, I am down below 15%. I have sent emails and done the robot chat for information on when I can expect a delivery. No response from the company. I have contacted the local office. No people seem to be available. I have left voice messages that I need propane. No response. This is not good. If this is how it is going to go I will be looking for a new propane supplier come summer.
Desired outcome: I want my propane that I have already paid for to be delivered
Refusal to pick up tank from my property
I contacted Amerigas in early December 2022 that I was cancelling my account I wanted the tank retrieved from my property. Nothing happened. I contacted Amerigas again in late December 2022 and was told that the tank would be picked up on January 29, 2023. This week, that tank is still here and I called customer service again. Now, I'm being told that they have no idea when the tank will be picked up. Please help me get them to pick the tank up.

Hidden and undisclosed or agreed to fees
After creating account, I was given conflicting information on a constant basis. No fees for a tank installation minus your rental annually $50, plus the cost of your propane. I was told during installation they bury the line. Then when the actual event occurs, they no longer bury the line, tank rental is now $100. I can live with that part. What I am upset about is this, one when called no one can make adjustments to the account (tank size was incorrect and because of this I was unable to schedule a delivery to fill it to proper amount). I get that corrected and then they want to charge me at a higher rate than the initial fill rate when it was their mistake. Finally and biggest of all, the installation fee that was never discussed, disclosed, or agreed to of almost $700. Now I got the service fee of $99 removed, but everything else no. Additionally, I am forced to pay it otherwise I won't get any propane which is needed to heat my home. I have called, sent emails, etc. All of it is ridiculous and this company is insanely bad, no one can provide answers, the automated menu is horrible, etc.
Desired outcome: I want a credit for future propane for the amount of the installation.
Propane has delivery in freezing cold Tahoe
To whom it may concern.
My house in Meeks Bay, Tahoe Hills subdivision, California. We are on auto-fill, however, that quit working in December. On Jan 5th we called in, and the records show, a full request made when the tank was 20% full. We are now down to 1%. I have been calling and talking to AmeriGas supervisors for days and have been given repeated promises to fill the tank within 24 hours with no success. It seems hopeless. I now see the NextDoor postings for our area are full of similar desperate customers calls for help and posting warnings. The latest response from AmeriGas was a text message today that stated our driveway was not plowed and is iced over, therefore they cancelled the delivery. This is a total fabrication, I’m at the house and our driveway is bone dry. The roads have been wide open for days. Even the road around Emerald Bay is wide open and dry. We have been a good customer for 38 years, never a late payment.
We turned down the heat and water heater to save what little gas is left so we can cook. The house is freezing, we are desperate, and from what I’m seeing online, we aren’t alone.
If we don’t get gas tomorrow we’ll have to leave and we are afraid a cold spell will cause damage with frozen pipes. Please send help.

in the same position waiting 22 days for next day delivery in alpine meadows whats going on with amerigas
Product delivery and incorrect billing
During January I had to request an expedited load because I was down to 5% in my tank... after arguing for this expedited load I was told I would receive propane within 24 hours... I did not receive propane for 4 days. Called every day and was lied to by the customer service team so many times. At one point I was basically told sorry but we don't do many deliveries on the weekend. This was said to me, a customer, who was out of gas during the winter. During this I was hung up on by one of your "supervisors".
This was my first load of gas to be delivered and I was specifically told the price would be $2.11. I was billed $2.48 and I have called 4 times over the past two weeks and been promised everytime that the invoice would be corrected. I still do not have a correct bill. I feel like the company is forcing me to pay the higher price because if I don't and I'm past due or have a balance they will refuse to deliver me another load of gas.
Everyone conversation is with someone overseas.
Desired outcome: I want my invoice corrected.
Tank rental fee
I have been with Amerigas for 4 years and have been told by the company that I had to hit 80% of my tank capacity - or 256 gallons a year in order to avoid a tank rental fee. This year I received an invoice for $132.68 for tank rental even though we used 297 gallons the previous calendar year. When I called customer service I was now told that we needed to use twice the capacity of our tank - or 640 gallons in order to avoid the tank rental charge. She also said that that was in the terms of our contract - since when? I have never heard that number before. I have been told the same thing (80%) since we started with Amerigas and am completely shocked at the sudden change. I will be looking into another company ASAP.
Desired outcome: Ultimately I would love not to have to pay this charge, but if nothing else I would love an explanation as to why the change and why wasn't I informed.
Tank rental fee
This is my 2nd year with Amerigas and the 1st time I was charged a tank rental fee. I was told at the time of my tank installation that there would not be a tank rental fee if I had regular yearly deliveries, which I have. But today I was told by your billing department that I would be charged the fee if I did not purchase 1000 gallons. If this was in the fine print or a change to your policy, I was either mislead or I was ripped off. Times are tough for everyone. But a tank rental fee for a actual paying customer. I will check with other propane providers to see if they charge this fee.
Desired outcome: Waive my annual tank rental fee going forward.
Tank gauge wasn't working, out of propane.
The last tank they rented to us has a faulty gauge which we didn't realize till we were out of propane. After several phone calls, and 5 days later, still no date on when they will come to fix the tank and refill it.
Local people are all gone, had to deal with a 1-800 idiot whose abililty to speak clearly was out of his ball park.
Seeking other companies now, after 16 years
Desired outcome: Fix the gauge and give us propane at a SIGNIFICANTLY reduced rate.
Improper gas line connection and excess charges
On 11/21 we ran out of gas - this was strange since we just got a new tank in May - 75 gallons. Its just the two of us and the only gas appliance is a range. We probably use that about 3-4 times a week. We dont cook that much. When the gas delivery man - (Erik A.) came out to fill the tank he said we had a leak - the leak was the nut that was not correctly tightened by the last installer. The delivery guy would not fix it and said we had to schedule another person - after many calls a repair man came out on December 16, 2022. He laughed as he tightened the bolt that was causing the leak. "now ive seen it all" he said. Anyway - Amerigas is charging me for the entire refill of the tank 11/24.2022. On top of that a billing issue that was resolved last year regarding "late payments" came back on a second invoice - 1/1/2023 a little over a month after the first invoice for the refill.
Desired outcome: I was out of gas for almost 4 weeks including during Thanksgiving. I want Amerigas to cover the cost of the recent refill since the majority of the gas used was lost due to the improper gas line connection.
Amerigas
On Jan 11, 2023, I ordered propane for my 1,000 gallon tank, which was at 30 percent. My promised delivery window was Jan 12-18. When the 18th passed, with no word from AmG, I called daily for a week. They have customer service in India, I think. I escalated it twice and talked to 2 supervisors, who assured me my propane would be delivered. But—it would take another week. No reason given. I received a recorded call Jan 23, stating I would receive my propane Jan 24. When that day passed, I called and was told there was no delivery scheduled and that no call had been made. We are down to 16 percent and will run out of propane. It is 3 degrees at night, with highs of 27. We’ve turned thermostats to 60 and are cold. I am trying other companies and will be forced to pay emergency prices.
Desired outcome: Immediate propane delivery.
Complaint
I started service with Amerigas in October 2022, paid $562.92 for a full tank of gas that leaked out two weeks later. After calling Amerigas several times, to have them conduct a leak check and fill the tank, they schedule someone to come but no one ever showed, this no show happened for 30 days to the point that I had to pay to fix my own tank through another company. Amerigas finally called me on January 7, 2023 to schedule a service check for the leak, I informed them that I have someone coming out that afternoon to fix it. They insist that their person should still come out and take a look. I wasn't at home and saw Amerigas truck pulled up my driveway and filled my tank and charged me $781.61. I called Amerigas as asked the question, why would you send someone out to fill my tank knowing that it is leaking? The rep stated that, it was done in error and that they will send someone out right away to fix the leaking tank. No one came out after several days. Finally, a rep from Amerigas came out to fix the leak, the rep drove down my long driveway and left without fixing the issue. I was charged $179 for a service fee of fixing a tank that was never fixed. Amerigas customer service reps are not professional, they do not understand their jobs and when a situation gets difficult, they hand up the phone. They also claim they schedule you but if you call to speak to another rep to verify your appointment, your "appointment" was never scheduled. I requested a refund for both incidents and I have been given the runaround.
America's going to pay fir my mother's broken pipes because they neglected to give her propane
Come and reinstall the tank and lines then fill it
On or about January 7th I called Amerigas for a refill on my tank. The Amerigas driver arrived and told me he could not fill the tank because the tank was within 10 feet of an ignition source (AC Unit). Upon further inquiry, it was determined Amerigas was the company who placed the tank at it's current location and also did the plumbing more than 8 years ago. It was also determined a Permit was pulled at the time of installation and later inspected and given a green light. I have attempted to contact someone in charge and they outsource all of there calls to people who cannot even enunciate the English language and they will not transfer you under any circumstance to a supervisor. Meanwhile, I have enough gas in my tank to last I don't know how long but its the only source of cooking for my family and I. What I need is for Amerigas to come and move the tank, replumb it so it's in compliance. It appears they are avoiding that at all costs. If it's in fact true that my 120 gallon tank is illegal, then my family and I run the risk of an Explosion and nothing good happens after that. Depending on the results of the BBB, I have contacted out Attorney for guidance and provided them with all of the necessary evidentiary paperwork to proceed as necessary should I get no resolution from Amerigas
Propane delivery service
Amerigas is the worst propane service company I’ve seen!
They have no local offices and never answer the toll free number. I’m down to 5 percent in my tank which heats my home. I’m on the automatic refill plan and my account states an order was placed 12/30/22. It is now 1/21/23 and still no propane. I’ve attempted to call them, placed on infinite hold, was only able to use their online chat to beg for propane delivery before I run out only to be told they could not give me a specific date for the delivery only that it would be “ expedited “ which means nothing. They should not be allowed to provide service for areas where they have no local offices and obviously cannot provide service for.
Do Not use Amerigas!
Make this right!
This what I came home to. Camp verde Amerigas propane company driver drove all the way up to the tank and destroyed my yard because he's didn't want to extend his hose. We’ve used this company for years and never have they driven up to the tank like this. Then left it like this without saying anything even though my family was home. Security cameras caught the whole thing.
