Driver
Account # [protected]
Received a gas delivery on 10/14.
The driver apparently does not know how to use the turn around in our driveway and tore up the lawn pretty well with the truck.
I would like to be notified of future deliveries so I can instruct/monitor the driver, so he does not repeat.
Desired outcome: Have the driver contact me
AmeriGas return propane tank pickup
After canceling my service with AmeriGas they were scheduled to pickup their propane tank within 30 days. We are now at plus 45 days and counting.
Desired outcome: Pickup their propane tank
Horrible service and faulty billing
I had amerigas for years without problem UNTIL they changed to a centralized, clueless, scheduling service. I terminated my service as it was impossible to get timely service in my rural area. I therefore switched to a new supplier. Amerigas billed me $147 for picking up their own tanks. I declined to pay for the pick up since it was their fault that I had to switch companies. Their rep said that I had signed something saying I would pay for pick up of the leased tanks but never was able to give me a copy of that contract. Now they are trying to bill me a $72 late fee. It is ridiculous.
Desired outcome: stop trying to bill me for picking up the leased tanks and late fee
Service
A JOKE I ordered a 500 gallon tank and paid it for the same day they was suppose to call with a appointment never did so after calling them multiple times I finally got a date which was a month later I took off work that day and they never showed up when I called they said they had rescheduled it but I never received a phone call or nothing so they costed me money I cancelled my account and told them I wanted a refund
Desired outcome: A pure joke
Rude delivery guy
James hinner the third works at ameragas in mt Jackson VA very rude even made a sexual comment to my wife I have terminated my gas from u guys so have many others because of James company should not have a guy like this working for them . He's very rude talks dirty to people .I know several people who have switched to different companies because of him
Desired outcome: Termiate driver
person answering the phone
on 9/20/21, I called promptly at 8:00 and spoke with Jack. He was condescending and arrogant during the entire conversation. I even voiced my complaint about his manner in dealing with my problem. His response was constantly, well that's your opinion. He didn't help at all. Over 30 minutes later, after talking with 4 different persons my problem was finally resolved. I understand getting employees to work is difficult during this time; however, if many have to deal with employees like Jack they will look elsewhere for services
Customer service & billing dept.
My wife and I have been with Amerigas Propane for 16 to 17 yrs. now. When we had a problem we used to be able to call the Corporate Office in California. Now sad to say you cannot get ahold of anyone to help you out. I have been trying to set up "Auto-Pay" since June of 2020! I enjoy Auto-Pay because it is easy and when I have bills that I know are monthly it's nice to not have to worry about it. I have talked with Customer Service numerous times about not being able to get Amerigas to take there money! (Can you believe that!). They have walked me thru setting up Auto-Pay, almost six different times and everything is set up correctly. I have been told almost everytime I have called that someone from billing dept. will call you back since you cannot talk to them when you ask to speak to some one in Billing Dept. I have never received a call back. Then twice I was told that a Supervisor will call me that is in our area or state and I have never received a phone call. It's a shame that when you need to speak to a represenative or a supervisor you cannot get anyone to call you, all you can get is to speak to a Customer Service Agent and that's it, there is not much they can do except forward the information.
Desired outcome: Being able to have Amerigas help there Customer's
Response to purchasing current propane tank
July 21 2021 had existing propane tank evaluated for purchase. It is a 30 year old tank. After the evaluation I was told someone would call within 24 to 48 hours w a price. A week later no call so I called Amerigas and was told the information is in I just had to wait for the sales person to call me. The call center sent the Malvern pa center advising of my call and was told someone would call within a week. A week passed and no call. I called again and received the same response. Each time I call I get the same response and am told to wait. I called last week and asked if I can speak with someone other than the call center and was told no. It has been over a month and we have yet to receive a call to discuss purchasing the existing tank.
Desired outcome: A call back to discuss tank purchase
Attempting to purchase a new tank
I started attempting to purchase a new 120 gal upright tank on June 24 of this year. I spoke with two different customer service reps who kept passing me off to other numbers to call. I finally talked to Angela Cowans who gave me pricing for the tank, regulator, and pig tail at $675.00. She told me the local office had the tank in stock and would call me to schedule a site visit. They never called. I spoke with Brett Miller on July 7th trying to find out what was going on. He disputed my word that I was given a price until he found the notes in your system that she did in fact give me pricing. He said he would send the information to the district office again and they would contact me. He even gave me his email to contact him if they didn't. I emailed him on 7/14 and he responded with a question asking if anyone had called about pricing. I replied no and that's the last I heard from him. I called back on 7/19 and spoke with Sarah. She went so far as to enter my payment information and had me put in my credit card number and said the district office would call. I heard nothing. I called back on 8/16 and talked with Mike, Veronica, and Ryan. No help! I finally on 8/16 talked to Jane who gave me a case number 2798487G6B7H8 and said the district would call. Dannette Loftis called on 8/20 at 2:40 and left a message. I was out of cell phone range. She said that whoever sent the notes didn't give the size of the tank, only the price and she would call me back. She never has. I called and spoke with Lesley on 8/24 and she gave me a site survey date of September 2nd at 11:45 pm.
My card was never billed for the purchase of the tank and I've relayed the size and components every time I've spoken with your people about the attempted purchase. I've been given several conflicting policy procedures that have to take place and at least 3 different phone numbers to call.
Your company has to be the worst I've ever tried to do business with. The company you bought, Heritage Propane was a pleasure to deal with. You've totally screwed up a good local company. I have 4 rental homes and my residence all with propane appliances and I own my own tanks. I'm just trying to install gas at another location. Please advise me as to how I can purchase this tank. I have no faith that anything will happen on 9/2.
Very disappointed and dissatisfied customer.

Desired outcome: Buy a 120 gal upright tank and have it set at a new service location
Refusing to refund my leap money
I have not had service with amerigas since January of this year. It took me months of calling amerigas to finally get them to remove the out of date tank from my property. The Colorado Dept of Human Services apparently sent my leap funds to amerigas by mistake. I have been calling amerigas since June to refund my leap money of $ 239.67. Each time I get the run around. They know I have no account and they know they removed their tank. Yet each time I call they tell me they need to close my account this has been going on for months. Each time I call it's another 90 days from the date I called. 90 days from June now 90 days from Aug. This just goes on and on. Meanwhile I have a bill that needs to be paid by my new propane company. I am on social security disability and they are taking advantage of me because they believe I don't have a voice. Please hear me and help me resolve this issue. They can issue a refund immediately if they really want to!
Desired outcome: Issue my refund they know they are not untitled to keep it
You said, "I am on social security disability and they are taking advantage of me because they believe I don't have a voice. Please hear me and help me resolve this issue." We are having a problem similar to yours. I believe we are being discriminated against because we are poor. Our program is called HEAP and sometimes they are slow to pay the bill. Amerigas has let us run out of propane twice now . They took us off the auto fill plan without letting us know. We just had to come up with $600.00 (that we did not have) to get more propane. AND we still have no propane to cook, heat or heat our water with. I'm ready to send a certified letter to the CEO of the company and ask if it's company policy to mess with disabled Vets and poor folk.
Unethical behavior
My complaint goes back to September 4, 2020. My account # was [protected]. I switched propane companies due to the rising costs and hidden costs of AmeriGas. I had 2 tanks. One had approximately 60% of propane and the other had approximately 70% of propane. I am sure you already see where my complaint is going. I had no idea. I was charged a pump out restocking fee. Again, I had no idea. I did not contact the company to change companies. The new company did that. AmeriGas did not contact me in any way to let me know of the pump out fee. I was under was thinking the entire time that I would be reimbursed. I was not aware of any of this until I received the invoice from AmeriGas on 10/12/2020. I of course called, and called, and called. Voice mail. I left messages, no one returned my call. I emailed on 12/1/2020. No response. I am sure I spoke to someone before this at the branch because I was told I signed a contract that I was not aware of. On 1/6/21, I spoke to (Kayla), who said she would file a complaint for judgement by branch. Nothing. I called on 1/19/2021. I was on hold for 38 minutes and finally spoke to (Latashia) who left a message for (Kayla). Nothing. I called again on 2/10/21 and spoke to (Bonnie). She said within 2 weeks someone would call. Nothing. During all this time of no resolution, the account went into Collections with A.R. M. This did lead to a credit to my account for the pump out fee. But they left the late charges. They left the late charges. Really? On 5/10/2021 I called and spoke to (Jorge). He was surprised they had not taken off the late charges. He said that they would be removed and someone would call me within 72 hours. 72 hours came and went. On 8/11/2021 I call and speak to (Gabe). During all this time all anyone could say was that NC does not have to pay restocking fee of propane. Again... I did not know this. Who throws 130% of propane away? (Gabe) sends me the contract. No signature is required it says. How is that a contract? This is still not resolved.
Desired outcome: Credit for the Late Fees and Reimbursement for the 130% of Propane that was removed from the tanks.
Improper Billing Practices
Our company cancelled our agreement with Amerigas the end of May 2021 due to poor customer service following Covid. The new company we went with delivered a dispenser tank for propane sales. I contacted Amerigas to pick up their equipment. It took me making several phone calls and sending several emails for them to finally get their equipment out of our way. Because of a prior charge for an alleged delivery back in 2020, it was requested that I sign every driver delivery ticket prior to the driver leaving or the bill would not be paid. I received an invoice in the amount of $567.42 for 5/6/2021. We had already begun the process of switching companies and were not accepting any further deliveries from Amerigas. I've spoken to multiple people regarding this charge and requested to see the signed copy of the delivery ticket. Each time I am told something different. The first person said, no problem, they would send out the copy. All others after have stated that there are no such notes in the system regarding this policy.
Amerigas invoiced out charges on 7/8 in the amount of $499.98 for "propane pump out" then tank was empty, for 2 hours of labor, as well as a service call out fee. The employees didn't even pick up the equipment until 7/11! How interesting that Amerigas would once again throw out fraudulent charges for service not rendered. I responded to their bogus bill with an invoice in the amount of $2112.59- $45.00 per day for 21 days of storage on the dispenser tank, the fill cage, and the bottle exchange cage. I spoke w/ a rep again today and kept being told all the charges were "in our contract". I requested a signed copy of the agreement multiple times and still have not received my request.
Desired outcome: remove all charges as this account was paid in full and do not owe any money on this account.
Discontinuing propane service and billing
Account # [protected] Tony and Barb Stotz, Fremont Ohio. We have been trying to discontinue our propane service with a lot of difficulty. What has happened is that we received a bill for this years lock in price per gallon of propane 6/21. We did not pay it because at that time we were shopping around for cheaper propane and you don't need a lock in price if you are no longer using Amerigas services. My Husband called and talked to a tech the end of July 2021. She said she would stop our service but we would pay a penalty for breaking our contract. We never had a contract plus she never stopped our service. We received a bill for 259.00 today from Amerigas, our 99.00 dollar bill is now 259.00. My Husband called today 8/21 and talked to another Amerigas tech. 1st we could hardly understand him and 2nd he was giving us some difficulty when we told him we wanted to stop our service. He told us that we had to go through a grievance committee and they would decide if we could discontinue our service and what fees we would have pay. We have never had so much trouble trying to get something canceled. It is like we are being held hostage. What I want is to have our Amerigas service discontinued, to have the 259.00 and late charges dropped and not be sent to collections and when our Propane tank is empty (it is full a this time) and I call to ask them to remove it they don't start send me bills for rental on the tank. If I don't get results from Amerigas I am thinking of contacting our Consumer Complaint Dept. Ohio Attorney General John Yost or the Ohio Public Utilities Commission, Thank you
Desired outcome: Discontinue Service from Amerigas and the 259.00 plus late charges dropped
Service
I have been a customer since 2016 and I never missed a payment or ever had a later payment. I'm fed up with your new customer service it used to be dependable when I needed propane I would call the brooksville fl office I have propane with in a week now it's almost a month before I get propane I always call in time so if this happens so I don't run out but I shouldn't have to do this. Amerigas expects payment as soon as we get the bill witch I had to call and see where it is so I don't get stuck with a late charge I was told I would not have a late charge but was told I would have a tank delivered four times before I got it. Lets go back to calling our local amerigas store. Yopur recording said you made improvment to better servis your customers well it not doing a very good job

Propane 20lb tank vending machine
I exchanged my empty propane tank and purchased a tank of propane at the Amerigas vending Machine at the Walamart. However, tgenewly vended tank was EMPTY. Purchased at the vending machine at Walmart 6315 S. Elm Broken Arrow, OK 74011. Total with sales tax was 16.18. The machine said it could not print a receipt, so all I will have is the credit card statement.
Desired outcome: Credit for 16.18
After emailing and receiving an unsatisfactory answer I tried calling the customer service number. They have me another number for grill tank vending issues. I called them and they have me instructions for exchanging the tank.
Propane left in tank
Sold my home June 18 2021, in Ellijay GA. I notified Amerigas that my account would be terminated, what happens to amount of propane in tank. I was told my customer service that Amerigas would purchase back the propane (60%) at a cost of $479 and change. Please wait till next billing cycle to see refund, I waited till July 22 2021 and called spoke with customer service and supervisor. Supervisor told me I was given mis information, Amerigas does not purchase back propane. It has been one month since the closing of the home Amerigas Supervisor asked to call new owners to see if they would purchase propane "REALLY"
Desired outcome: REFUND
Propane tank fill
As I write this complaint it is 7/1/21. At the beginning of June we called Amerigas to notify them that our "automatic refills" have never happened and we needed a refill right away as we were running empty. As of today, Amerigas never came to fill our tank. We have called just about daily (at least 3x/week) and asked for someone to come. Each time they told us "you're on the schedule for an emergency fill". We have also spoken to supervisors to no avail. Our tank has been empty for days now and we cannot cook for our family. It took until today when we had to track down a local trucker ourselves and got his cell phone #. He was kind enough to come out and fill the tank for us. My complaint is to Amerigas Customer Service - SHAME ON THEM! We spoke to 10 (at least) different people and not one of them got a truck out here after keeping us on the phone for 30 minutes per call. We are cutting off our service with them after this and would never use them again - horrendous customer service, inability to resolve problems, and complete lack of competance.
Desired outcome: We want a refund for the fill we just got the kind truck driver to come do for us.
High pressure sales woman tricked me
I called for pricing and the saleswoman Heather pressured me into giving all of my information. She's insisted that I couldn't get a price until I disclosed my information first. She then proceeded with very high pressured sales tactics, pushing me to pay $170 for them to come to my house and inspect my tank. I told her that another company inspected it a couple of weeks ago, and that it checked out. She then began an attempt to haggle with me. I had to hang up on her to get her off the line. She was obnoxious. Now I'm receiving mailers. I called to be removed from the list, and another saleswoman named Mary told me that she would put in a "request", but that she doesn't know where the mailers are coming from. The following are the notes I made at the time of my initial contact. - - HEATHER IS A PUSHY SALES PERSON. SHE INSISTED ON GATHERING ALL OF MY INFORMATION JUST TO GIVE ME A PRICE. THEN SHE WANTED TO CHARGE ME $170 TO INSPECT OUR TANK. I SAID NO. SHE LOWERED IT TO $100. I SAID NO AGAIN. SHE LOWERED IT TO $69 AND INSISTED THAT IS AS LOW AS SHE WILL GO. SHE OBVIOUSLY THOUGHT I WAS HAGGLING WITH HER. NO MEANS NO! BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
Desired outcome: To be removed from their mailing list.
Delivery service
I can never get a firm delivery day, every time they give me a week long window. I work away from home a lot and need to be here to unlock the gates. This time they said they would be here from June 17-24, I made special plans to work from home that week to be here, well they never showed up. I called and they said it the date was changed but no one called to advise me. They moved the end date to June 29 which is totally ridiculous how can anyone with a life stay home for 10 days waiting on Amerigas. I called today and the representative had a strong accent and could hardly understand what she was saying. Well I am number 8 on the list for today lets see if they come. Funny they sure charge my credit card the first day. Last time I use Amerigas changing companies. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Desired outcome: No need I will never use Amerigas again, switching companies
Propane and tank rental
My tank had a leak. I ran out of propane in December 2020 because of this. I called Amerigas numerous times but was left without gas for 4 days. When the delivery was made, on 12/20/20, the delivery driver saw that the tank was leaking and noted this on the receipt. The empty tank was filled with 210 gallons. He fixed something, but apparently the tank continued to leak. Because of the awful service, I switched to Ferrelgas. When they came out to put in the new tank and transfer the propane over to it on 1/8/21, there were only 51 gallons of propane left in it. I have a 900 square foot house, so obviously it had leaked. I called Amerigas and spoke to their customer service person, who could not connect me to a billing person to straighten things out with. I also sent an email using their system explaining the situation and asking for a phone call. They got the email, because it informed them of my with to terminate as well as the billing issue; they came out and removed the tank. They continue to bill me for the full amount and have not contacted me in any way to resolve the issue. I paid the bill with a credit card, then sent a dispute for the charges hoping that would trigger contact. It didn't and they are sending me the same bill.
Desired outcome: I'd like to pay the fair amount considering most of the propane leaked out of the tank they own. I should get proportional credit for the previous bill that I did pay because the tank was leaking.
