Aspen Dental Permanent partial dentures.

On August 31, 2021, in the Westminster, Md office, I had teeth removed & dentures put in. I had many revisions done until March 31, 2022. On that date I was fitted for permanent lower partial dentures. I was told it would take 6-8 weeks to get my dentures, It is now May 24, 2022. I still do not have my permanent partial lower dentures, Whenever I call, I am told we will call when they come in. No explanation has been given as to why I have not gotten them yet. I am very unhappy with how my dentures feel. I hope if & when I finally get my permanent dentures that they will be comfortable enough for me to enjoy my food.

Aspen Dental Dental malpractice

In 2020, I registered as a new patient with Aspen Dental to have routine X-rays, cleaning, and one wisdom tooth extracted because my regular dentist was closed due to Covid-19, and my wisdom tooth was impacted and painful. When I made the appointment I was told that the x-rays and cleaning will be done during that first appointment, but I would have to come back for a second appointment for the wisdom tooth extraction. Absolutely understandable.

Upon arriving to the first appointment, I was asked if I would be "self-pay" or if I was using insurance, to which I informed them I was a self-pay patient. I was taken back to do the x-rays, and then told I needed to speak with the manager up front to schedule the remaining procedures. When I asked why I was not getting my routine cleaning as told I would be, the technician responded that I have "severe Gingivitis" and would need a deep cleaning which is more than she had time for that day.

Not knowing much about Gingivitis or really any oral problems, I assumed they were correct and something was wrong with my mouth. When I approached the manager's desk, she already had everything printed out for this specialty cleaning, wisdom tooth extraction, prescription toothpaste, prescription mouthwash, and an Oral B electric toothbrush that I was told I had to have in order to get rid of my Gingivitis. All of this combined totaled over $2,000. When I informed her that I was self-pay and couldn't afford that, she offered the option to finance everything with their in-house financing, and after being sticker-shocked at the price, but having pain in my mouth, I agreed.

When I arrived for my "deep Gingivitis cleaning" the next week, I was told that in addition to Gingivitis I needed 4 fillings for "very deep cavities that are almost at root canal level". Back to the manager I went, and another two visits to fill said cavities were booked, and an additional $800 was added to my total bill.

I went back for my two different days for filling procedures where the dentist drilled holes into my teeth and appeared to be working on whatever it was in there. I then was finally scheduled for my wisdom tooth extraction about 3 weeks after my initial visit for that reason. The dentist came in, pulled my tooth in literally under 1 minute and said have a nice day. I noticed there was only one root. When I asked if that was normal, he assured me everything was fine. Also that day, I asked about having my front 4 teeth bonded since the bonding I had done in 2009 was starting to deteriorate. Again, another appointment was made and I was assured that the dentist who would be doing it was fantastic at cosmetic dentistry.

When I arrived for that appointment I should have known better. The dentist was fumbling around with his tools, he could not get the bonding material to set correctly after trying multiple times, and at one point dropped a tool directly onto my mouth. After about an hour and a half he said he was done and handed me the hand mirror to inspect, which, it looked like a decent enough job so I was satisfied.

In this entire process, I was handed a folder and told I would be emailed with information on how to pay my bill every month. That never happened. When I called the office to ask how to pay they informed me they cannot send over any information and if it wasn't in my folder then I basically had to figure it out.

Fast forward to 2021, my regular dentist reopened his practice, and I was able to get an appointment for my routine cleaning. When my dentist was doing the normal inspection of density and whatnot, he asked me what happened. I was then informed that the exact 4 teeth I supposedly had filled at Aspen had large manmade holes in them and no filling. My dentist's exact words were "honey, I think they filled them with air because there's nothing in those holes". Requiring me to have to pay to have those same 4 teeth filled again. In addition, there is still a root from my wisdom tooth left in my top bone, requiring another removal expense, and all 4 of my front bonded teeth have chipped and cracked all the way to the gum line, which will require thousands of dollars to fix. Additionally, when I asked my regular dentist if my Gingivitis has improved, he literally laughed and told me I've never had Gingivitis, and deep gum cleanings were a main cause of infections and never necessary.

In hindsight, I should have known better, but I felt I was being appropriately guided by professionals. I was pressured into opting for their financing because of their false claims that my oral health needed to be fixed in an urgent manner. Their malpractice and mishandling of my teeth and gums has resulted in me paying thousands of dollars to repair the issues I was assured were taken care of but were only intentionally made worse in hopes I would come back. As of today, I am being sued by Aspen Dental's collections agency for the remainder of my balance for services I never technically received.

Desired outcome: Remove collections from my credit report and drop the civil lawsuit for remaining balance.

Aspen Dental Denture failure

I purchased the best dentures with a seven year warranty! A year and half two front teeth fell out. Being on a weekend I was frantic I had to super glue them in because I work with public. I went to have them repaired correctly and I am told I voided the warranty because of super glue. What?!?! They shouldn’t have fallen out in the first place. What a ripoff I am going to file a complaint with the BBB if this isn’t resolved. I should get a new set instead of them trying to repair them so I have to pay $100 repair bill if they can fix them should have never happened

Desired outcome: A new set of dentures (upper) would be nice so the teeth don’t randomly fall out

Aspen Dental unclean surgical enviroment

I had to get my wisdom teeth extracted and when I went into the room I notice the surgical tray with instruments was wide open and I hope they were sterilize, I sat down to wait for the procedure, the oral surgeon Charles Milton did not introduce his self but put a suction in my mouth and telling me how to use it

but when I look at the other suction next to it they were bloody and unsterile, when he step out the office I ask one of the techs to clean the other suctions and they were not nice about it but had a very cold and rude demeanor. After the surgery was over I was given gauze to hold the blood, and I was told to change the gauze when it filled up, I followed instructions and did that, but when I went to change gauze I notice dirt and hair was on several of the gauzes... Disgusting! I'm not sure if I can trust any Aspen Dentals because of that experience... I was scared to say anything but I feel it wouldn't be right not to say anything about it. I'm nervous for my health and I truly believe A person will reap what they sow and everyone in that office will reap what they sow. VERY EVIL PEOPLE!

Desired outcome: I would like a refund for negligence so I can see a physican and get check up to make sure bacteria wasn't passed on.

Aspen Dental Disgusted with aspen dental. Utterly & grossly disgusted.

Absolutely disgusted with you Aspen Dental. (Talmadge Road, Toledo Ohio) HOW DARE YOU TREAT my daughter like you did.

1.) Forgot to call in URGENT antibiotics at her first visit. Yes. FORGOT. Oops. They couldn’t even do the extraction because the infection was soo bad. As someone with a Nursing background, I have seen people go septic & DIE over these type of infections.

Shame on you Aspen.

2.) The Dentist was rude & wouldn’t allow her to speak or explain that she was only there for 1 extraction. Literally said “I am talking. When I am finished, YOU may speak.” And proceeded to tell her everything she should have completed, even though she has insurance. There is a wait list for her other Dentist & this was an emergency.

3.) She explained to the Dentist repeatedly that she is developing facial paralysis from nerve damage around this tooth. Antibiotics that you forgot to call in, were pertinent.

4.) Second visit to have the tooth extracted was today [protected]) I am grossly disgusted once again with how she was treated. You have faith in such a big company that works with patients in medicine. Patients that come to you in pain, anxiety & needing help. So to be treated like a number & garbage is unacceptable. How dare you.

HOW. DARE. YOU.

5.) She numbed the tooth & didn’t wait for the numbing to even work. She IMMEDIATELY went to extract a tooth that was not properly or effectively numbed. Then proceeded to argue with her that she wasn’t in pain. My daughter physically jumped up out of the chair, as she’s been dealing with nerve pain & facial paralysis from this infected tooth.

6.) The Dentist injured an unrelated tooth & surrounding gum tissue that now has to heal as well as the extracted tooth.

She is in MORE PAIN NOW than before she went in.

Shame on you Aspen. And it’s 6pm & once again, didn’t call in her antibiotics OR necessary pain medication. Do you enjoy people being in pain? Are you sadistic or you just don’t give a [censored] about your patients?

I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, Aspen Dental Headquarters & the Dental Board. I want some of my money back. That is not up for conversation. No thank you for the [censored]ty treatment of my daughter who already deals with dental anxiety.

Disgusted doesn’t even cut it. She is worse now than before she went in.

Shame on you, you SADISTS.

Desired outcome: I want at least 50% of my $300 back. No. I DEMAND IT.

My 84 year old father Norman Gould had moved to CT in 2021 and he had already gotten dentures in FL where he was from. He had nothing but issues since he got them and continued for over the next couple of years to see what they could do to get them to fit better and they said due to bone loss with his weight loss and age it wasn't reassuring they could do...

Aspen Dental Follow up service

Unable to get emergency service. Following extractions and temporary dentures, infection occurred in a remaining tooth resulting in much pain. Was told extraction service would not be available for two weeks. Aspen advertisements concerning walk-ins and emergency services at this location (sunset blvd. Lexington, sc) are invalid. Last contact with office was 05/18/2022. My account number is [protected].

Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response. I'd appreciate being referred to a dentist for emergency extraction.

Aspen Dental Denture and billing

I went to Aspen Dental in Cincinnati, Ohio on 1/10/2022 to get dentures, I had broken mine which was very old. They took compressions, on the next visit they showed me the teeth sizes and colors and the gum color and had me pick out the one I like best. I have two insurances both of which they take (Delta Dental and Liberty Dental). I thought I was getting the better denture. Before I was fitted for the dentures, I paid out of pocket $1694.24. When I came in to be fitted for the dentures, I was surprised to see that they were the basic cheaper dentures. Now I may be a senior, but I am employed and have good mental health. No one ask me if I wanted a better denture, they just assumed because I am African American, I could not afford the better denture which I thought they were giving me anyway. Once I received the dentures, I went back several times to have them adjusted. Finally, I came to the conclusion that there are always going to hurt, and I just can't wear them. They are very cheap, you get a better pair from the state. I wondered why I paid so much money out of pocket with two insurances, and I kept calling the office asking if they had filed a claimed with my other insurance, they said they had. Finally, I called my other insurance Liberty dental only to find out they had not filed a claim. They told me how much they paid, and Aspen should be getting the check and reimbursing me which is over a thousand dollars. If they were going to charge me extra money, why could they not give me a better product. I have asked for a itemized bill which theyt have not given me yet and every time I ask for one they come up with an excuse they I can't have it. Liberty Insurance is now dealing with them.

Desired outcome: Redo my dentures and refund me my overpayment.

About 2 yrs. ago my wife and I went to aspen to talk about getting dentures. We ended up spending roughly$7,500.00 for the best package we could get. Pulled all her teeth made dentures that have NEVER fit right. Repeat return visits, with no resolve. I Complained on Yelp and got a response, stop back in to see what could be done here. Long story short...

I had an appointment to have my crown to put on my implant on wednesday 5/11 at 8a.. I called them tuesday at 5pm left a vm because no one ever answers the phone. Told them to please make sure they have my crown.

I have already paid for this crown.. IT IS MINE>

I am going there on Saturday,, I am going to get my crown and if they don't give it to me, I am calling the police. They are holding my crown hostage.

Aspen Dental unauthorized procedures

Monday May 9th, 2022

I moved to Florida from Minnesota, needed to establish a new dentist. When I asked to have my records forwarded to this office, I was told that it was not necessary. After over an hours' worth of x-rays (which I had asked several times if this was covered under my Humana insurance, which was stated as yes). I know that it is "my bad" for not actually calling my insurance to be positive. But then, I was never asked if I wanted all of these additional scans!

After the hygienist looked in my mouth and pocked around eight teeth she was done. Then the dentist came in and spent less than 30 seconds with me. I asked about when the teeth cleaning would begin, was told if time allowed? That was why I was there!

I was then ushered to sit with the "financial adviser". She proceeded to explain that NO work will take place unless I agreed to spend $1177.40. This was mainly due to them wanting to do eight Arestin sites. I have never in my over 60 years needed to have that many done.

So now, I'll be sent an invoice for $148.00 for x-rays not covered. I'm being charged for seeing a dentist that I didn't see, and now this will count as one of my two dental allowed appointments. NOT HAPPY!

Desired outcome: I want all out-of-pocket fees removed. I want to have all of the x-rays and treatment notes sent to me at no charge.I want to be assured that I will not be responsible for any charges.

Aspen Dental Office Manager Rude and hateful

Trying to get teeth pulled at Aspen Dental in Millington, TN. 3 times they have sent me back home after being in the office. Cannot ever get anyone to answer the phone or call me back. Neighbor made me appointment for the 4th time over the internet, went in office today and Office Manager refused to let me be seen, saying today was for new patients only and they were completely booked up and told me that I would have to come back the next day. I would of got them pulled on my 3rd visit if they would of done their job and verified my insurance benefits, instead I had to do it for them.

So went in today again and Office manager was really rude. This has been one of the worse experiences in medical that I have ever encountered. I do not have a car and depend upon others for a ride and with gar prices so high it is really getting hard.

I was called 20 minutes after I left and was told to come back in after the Dentist found out what was going on. Dr Carlos Alexander is the greatest, but the Office Manager is so rude, even another patient told me that they were sorry I had to go through that

Aspen Dental Aspen Dental; predatory lending

I went to Aspen dental to have my teeth cleaned and examined, after the exam I was brought into a finance office and told that I would need a $250 service which included a cleaning but when I got the bill a few weeks later it was for $2200! I never agreed nor was I told of the prices in which I was provided. Once I arrived for my appointment the doctor told me that I’m getting a periodontal cleaning ( what that meant I did not know nor was I told how much it would cost) This is called predatory lending and they ripped me off big time to say the least! Don’t ever go to toilet Aspen dental because they will rip you off as much as they can.

Desired outcome: Refund

I have been to Aspen Dental to have my teeth removed and get upper and lower dentures, first I got the temporary teeth and used them for a couple of weeks and then went in and got the finished dentures right away I could tell that they didn't fit right they said to try. Them out and they will see me in a couple of weeks, when I went home I couldn't eat anything and they kept falling down very loose, so I wore the temporary teeth so I could eat ,I went back at least twice a month for a year and I still can't wear them I've paid around 5000 dollars and have to wear the temporary dentures which are wearing out , if you put them side by side you can see the difference.

Desired outcome: I would like to have dentures that fit so they need to start over .

Aspen Dental False claims of malpractice

I recently moved to the Atlanta area and visited Aspen Dental because I wanted to establish a base line for my dental health. I am well aware that I have periodontal disease and have been obtaining deep scaling for years to treat it. Prior to my arrival in Atlanta, I had the scaling done and simply wanted to obtain a regular cleaning to establish a baseline.

Once the dentist provided her review, I was told that it would be malpractice on their part to perform just a basic cleaning and that the periodontal quadrant scaling (at a price of $280 each) was necessary and that without it, they would not be able to do the basic cleaning.

Although I was astounded by their reaction, the laundry list of other items that they assessed to be done was enormous. I was told that my existing bridge had some wear and that teeth that had old fillings that needed to be removed because such fillings did not appear on x-rays. I was also told that I had several teeth that needed crowns. I then requested my x-rays and left.

I have dealt with some of the best dentists in the field and knew immediately that this organization was a scam because I should have the right to reject periodontal scaling and request a basic cleaning of my teeth. They should be there to recommend the service versus trying to force me to do a costly procedure against my wishes.

Desired outcome: I would like for them to stop trying to force patrons to obtain costly procedures under duress by telling them that it is malpractice to do something when it is not true.

Aspen Dental Service and implants, dentures.

I am 79 years old . I went to Aspen Dental in Alexandria, La. January1-2021. I wanted new dentures for the top and I had 5 teeth on bottom. I wanted the Fud denture on top and the bottom with implants. The top denture was made and it look like someone had hit me in the mouth and I had buck teeth. The bottom which I had 5 teeth, she said was just a build up and she woild have to pull all 5 teeth. After the teeth were pulled she said I had no bone for the implants, A new top was never made for 6 months. I wore the old ones I came in with. She put 2 posts next to each other on the bottom and left them exposed about 1inch high. The teeth were 1inch high and did not fit down on the gums. You could see the bottom of the implant when you opened your mouth. The teeth were plastic and I was told it would be a soft gum. The denture had no grove in them to set on my gums. She told me that the teeth would flap up and down. When she saw I had no none on the back she should have told me and not put the implants. I paid for the Fud denture which I did not get. I had to wear my old top dentures to the end before the made me new ones. Everytime I complained they brought me a document to sign that they would not be responsible.I was suffering with these implants and no teeth that I could wear. I could not eat anything unless I broke it in little pieces because I had no room to put something whole in my mouth. After 1 year of not having any bottom teeth that I could wear or eat with I decided to go to a dentist that was a specialist on dentured and implants .When he saw how the implants were put in and how far out they ere exposed and so close to each other, he was shocked. The dentures he said was the worst, garbage. Aspen Dental charged me $12.016.50 for a very bad suffering for a year and worst off than when I went in. I am now having to pay this dentist $5128.10 to correct the damage they did and go through all the suffering and inconvience Aspen has done. I Would not advise anyone to go there for anything. I have all the documents and pictures of all that was done to me. I feel Aspen should be held responsible for the damage they did. I should not have togo to another dentist to get relief from the improper owrk that they put me through for 1 year. If you need anymore information, you may contact me at [protected].

Aspen Dental Wait time

I'm waiting for my new dentures. However it seems that Cortland,NY Aspen one doctor is leaving and another is coming in.I had my first appt. in Nov. 2021. I had extractions done the 1st. Dec. 2022. I was told That I wouldn't have an appt. until June 7 2022. I was told by the Doctor that she recommend the top of the line dentures which I did and of course financed the $4000 + it will cost. The temporary bottom plate is getting hard to use because my gums have now healed. It would seem like I should be compensated for the delay. This is not a complaint, but I'm pointing out my situation. Thank You so much for your time in looking into this matter. Thomas Kimball
