Pain in tooth where it was crowned for a bridge
Dec 2021 I turned 65, eligible for $1000 from UHC medicare insurance that I wanted to use towards having a bridge made for an extracted tooth (8-2020). Wendy was able to get me in and the bridge made before the 12-31-21 deadline. This allowed me to plan on getting another bridge done on a missing crown on my lower right in 2022. During the 2021 prep...

My husband went in to Aspen Dental in Smyrna to have teeth extracted, and one bone shaved while under sedation for new dentures. Additionally, they were supposed to fill two cavities. All of the services were approved with our insurance company.
They did NOT shave the bone as agreed, nor did they fill the two cavities. AND he received a bill from Aspen Dental for services that were already approved by our insurance company.
Desired outcome: He still needs to have the bone shaved, the two cavities filled and proper fitting dentures.
Dentures
My husband went into the Dothan Alabama office on multiple occasions to get fitted for a new set of Dentures. We live over 70 miles away and he had made 4 trips to get fitted. He finally got the call that they were ready and when first trying them on they had to work on them for 30 mins he just put them in and smiled, but did not noticed the difference or how short the teeth was till he got home. With the dentures in it looked like he had no top teeth and we was so unsatisfied with the end result. So he called the office back on the same day to complain about the way they looked, so she told him to return 5/2 to see what could be done. When arriving for the visit, the front desk clerk began telling him that he did not have an appointment and he stated he spoke with a lady & she said to just come in but the front desk lady said well we will schedule you in . Yes my husband was upset because the thought they were going to send him away. So I went back with him and we told the lady that he was unhappy with the set, even showed her the difference from his old set compared to the new set. Basically the teeth was to small and one was crooked . The dentist Drew Patrick was one of the most unprofessional dentist that I have ever meet. He basically would not even hear our concerns out, he asked my husband didn’t you look at them before you left. He said yes I noticed the difference on the way home. I spoke up and told him that we was not going to pay for something that was not what we asked for .We don’t have money to throw away. He stated that we were loud and has an attitude and told the aide to refund our money then walked away. I asked the aide what was their procedure for customer service and she said we try to fix problems. This dentist refused to makes things right cause patient had an attitude. He stated refund their money. What about all the missing work days used to make all these trips and you just refuse to correct the mistake? We asked who was over the office and Drew Patrick stated he was the owner. Now we have to wait 10 days to get refunded and still no teeth. I even said what if his breaks again? Drew stated I didn’t break his dentures so unprofessional.
Desired outcome: Be reimbursed for loss time of work and all the gas spent on each trip to his office visits.William Barnes patient [protected]
Two upper Implants
The “Doctor” pushed the anesthetic needle through the roof of my mouth and unleaded the entire content into my nose! Then, charged $5xx.xx for a “temp” that did not fit. 3 months of trying. Had a cantilever effect non-fixable mess up. Dr S Told me he would refund the $$, Office Manager messed around and 3 months later I came in to discuss several problems with the implants posts - checking on the refund. The “Finance Woman” told me they would credit my account. I said that was not what I was promised! So, she said she would send the CC company the refund. Never came. Went in to talk about it and she lied yet again! And then gave me a quote for the teeth that would go on the posts, and what she failed to remember, was I wrote down the first cost quote. And, went to several dentists in the area. They marked up the cost of the teeth so they could mark it down. They THOUGHT I would rather get a “refund” - but being held HOSTAGE is not a pleasant feeling! I wrote the Dr S a letter trusting him to do the right thing. He also had said I made disparaging words about his practice - I had NOT! Even with all the mess! So the staff mentioned it was a comment I made TO ANOTHER DENTIST - I never did besides, there is HIPPA - right? Not to this Dr S! Totally a rip off! The Zero % financing is a lie too. They mark up to mark down. The Dr is not honorable, and the staff openly lied on many occasions. They slow walked getting my dental information (and I paid a premium for the “work” they DID do! And the two women at the front desk and in finance jeered at me when I had to pick up the last of the information I needed for the next dentist. TOTALLY INCOMPETENT AND UNPROFESSIONAL!
Last thing. Dr was confused with white to clear material coming out of the side of my gums in the area of teeth removal. I then went to a REAL dentist who identified the next one that came out as tooth enamel. Dr S must have not had that covered in Dental school - because it totally confounded him!
Desired outcome: I want the cost of the temporary refunded to my Care Credit account.
Couple of type-os (1) “unloaded” the full syringe of anesthetic. And what they offered AFTER promising a refund was a credit against the final work (new crowns on the posts). I sent a letter giving the Dr a chance to do the right thing. Instead, he ignored me. Or, he did not get the letter. Either way - they did not refund the Temp cost, they slow walked the documentation the next dentist needed when they could have printed it out and handed it to me the first time I came in for the X-rays and the implant information. The “Finance” woman told me “I need to get this from the Doctor” Later, after delaying things beyond reason (I came in at least one time later for the information and given the same run-around) the last time the gal at the front desk simply printed and handed me the papers. Such childish, unprofessional, and frankly “your teeth hurt and we gotcha!” Attitude is about as sick as any service business can getr - but especially not so for a “Medical Clinic” VERY disappointed especially in the “let’s hold him hostage” tactic!
Service
Had a 10:30 emergency appointment that I made on Sunday because of a painful abscess tooth that wanted extracted. Got there at 10am went in at 10:30 and the proceed to give me a full set of xrays for 45 minutes. Then they put me in another waiting room for 20 minutes.
Finally I got into dental chair and had some dental assistant exam all my teeth.
After that it was 12 pm and took me to a desk and told me they can fix all my teeth for just over 7 thousand dollars but I can make payments.
Totally in screaming pain I said I need my tooth out! She said they were extremely busy but if I could come back at 3 pm they could squeeze me in. What? But pay 300.00 now.
I had to wait in my truck because I came from out of town because they said Sunday they would take care of me.
At 2.30 they took me in and it was the most painful tooth extraction I ever had!
Ordered 6 pain pill and antibiotics and out by 4pm.
Never again!

too many problems to list, they are shoemakers! all they want is your money, will not recommend to my worst enemies!
Bottom denture
Oh my God, my sons dog lost my bottom denture. So I went in to have one made at the tune of 800 plus. They were able to rush the process for me and when I got them they are so crooked and I can’t wear them no matter what I do. So I’m going back in and demand they make me a new one and I’m going to refuse to pay my credit accoun. Actually I should have never gone back there after my first experience. I had some work done and a crown repaired. But the teeth they worked on are darker than my other teeth and look like crap. I will not let them get away with these terrible dentures.
Desired outcome: Make a new pair or credit my account
Horrible customer service
After a year of waiting I finally get an appointment for a consult for dentures. It was set for April 19th 2022 at 2:30 pm. I recieve two confirmations about said appointment. One was verbally, via phone call, which was two days prior of my appointment. The other was a text on the morning of my appointment. Both was confirmed for 2:30 pm on April 19th. I live an hour away from the dental office so I take the day off work just to make sure I make it. I have been living with no teeth for over a year. I have trouble eating and I am very insecure about talking to people and smiling at people. So I'm driving to the dental office excited I finally get the whole process started. I'm thinking this will be great. I'm going to have teeth again especially before summer and my vacation to the beach. I get there at 2:15 pm like they suggested I do. The receptionist tells me that I'm wrong and my appointment wasn't till 3:30 pm. I know I'm right but it wasn't worth the hassle so I feel out the paper work and patiently wait till 3:30. As I set there and watch people come and go I start to grow impatient. Then a gentleman comes in and claims he has an appointment at 3:30. He fills out the same paper work as I did. At exactly 3:30 he is called on to see the dentist. This seemed weird to me since I was told my appointment was at 3:30. I waited 15 more mins just to make sure before I asked the receptionist what was taking so long. I have now been waiting for an hour and a half. So when I ask the receptionist what was going on she first told me the gentleman was there first but he wasn't. He showed up at 3:15 for his 3:30 appointment. Then she tried to tell me that they was just busy. This made no sense to me. I had an appointment made and confirmed and I was just simply forgotten about. I could not get any help or reassurances on my situation. All I wanted was to see the dentist so I can have my teeth back. Nobody was able to help me so I got in my truck and drove the hour it took me to get back home. I lost a days worth of work, used up a half a tank of gas and now after a year of waiting I don't know where else I can go to get fitted for dentures.
Desired outcome: This trip cost me $250.00 and all I wanted was a set of dentures

Root canal treatment
Harold Thorne ACCT # [protected]-0
On Jan 18,2022 I visited the Warrington, Pa office and received a quote and detailed plan for dental work required. I was initially very pleased with the service provided and the office personnel. My Plan summary is [protected]-0... On 2/8/22 Dr Thorat performed a root canal on tooth #26. She did not require pre medication or medical instructions. On March 3 During Wax Try in & on March 31 while picking up my Partial denture, I advised Dr Thorat that my tooth was still very tender and swollen. On April 5 I made an emergency visit to the office, I was informed that Dr Thotat was no longer working at that office and a new doctor (Dr Bart) would look at the tooth, she advised me to go see an Endodontist, she did not do root canals. She gave a referral to go see an endodontist. On April 6th Dr Curso from Montomery/Bucks Endodontics re-did the root canal. I was required to pay full price for his service since Aspen had already been paid $696.00 by Delta Dental, my insurance co. and they would not any additional for work not completed. Additionally I paid $187.50. Since the original root canal was not sealed properly and treatment never completed I should be reimbursed the amount of (696.00+ 187.50) $883.50.
Sincerely, Harold T Thorne
Desired outcome: Reimbursement for poor and incomplete work.
Poor fitting dentures
In pain for days and they are too busy to fit me in after saying come as often as necessary for adjustment. The lower dentures (where I had surgery) are fine. Uppers are inflamed and also causing headaches. Surgery was on April 11th approximately between 2 and 3 pm. at the Stroudsburg,Pa. location. After an upper adjustment on the 13th the discomfort gone was and the problem passed to the upper right gums now. After calling them on the 14th I was told the were no openings to help me out for several weeks , not even noticing iI had an appointment on the 29th. In the mean time I have not been able to eat any food other than soft foods. Slower gums are healing well but I need other adjustments as well. My uppers and lowers do not line up either and causing headaches from misalignment.
Desired outcome: Take care of this now.

Service on my partial.
My partial broke and I took it to Aspen Dental to fix it. They made my top plate and partial both. I asked if they could adhere it back together. They said no, they have to do a couple of impressions and make a new one. I said ok. I went to pick it up, waited till I got home to clean it and wear it. It cost me $49 to get it done. Well, all they did was put the broken one back together. It is not even and is rubbing my gums. I went back to see if they could file it down. I was told, I'd have to go through the impressions again and pay. I have paid out $5000.00 + cash money for a top plate that is loose and a partial that rubs my gums. You would think they'd do it right. The bottom is loose also. I'm retired on a fixed income, I can not keep paying out money for them to not fix it right. I would like them to fix them right for the money I paid,or reimburse me and I will go somewhere else. I don't feel I should have to keep paying for something I already paid for. Please reply. Have the time I can't wear them, depending on what I eat
Desired outcome: My dentures fixed right or my money back.
Dental Work and Partial(s)
Began account while working in Sioux City Iowa, home Birmingham Alabama. Had partials made before I left Iowa, had problems with partials immediately. Gardendale office lost my first one, would not replace! Paid for second that broke recently. Office bad attitude and now they've come up with additional charges not given when partials received!
Desired outcome: Additional Payment not owed, replacement partial for the one lost and current partial repaired or replaced. [protected] [protected]@yahoo.com

“Deep cleaning”Charges/ services/did not submit bill to insurance company
- I had a “deep cleaning” done at Aspen Dental, Port Richey, Fl Location back in 10/12/21
- I’ve met with Christian (then office Mgr)
-I had the worst experience there, they took a bunch of x rays then provided me with an estimated bill for $24,683.00 for the recommended work which included replacing crowns,
-I told him that I would only want to get the “deep cleaning” that they “recommended”
- The bill for that was $2,624 wow!
-After the insurance coverage my charge, was $564.80..
-I paid I left an vowed never to go back there again!
— And to make matters worse I receive an email from them today 3/30/22 stating that I had a “balance”?
- I then called the office and spoke with Megan (present manager) regarding this email, and she stated that my claim was “denied” by United Mutual of Omaha..and that I had a very large balance? I then asked to speak with Christian and she said me no longer works there?
- I then reached out to my insurance company and spoke with Brittany (customer service) and told her what Megan had said..
-she stated that back in November they received a call asking for an email address and that Aspen Dental, Port Richey Fl had never submitted the bill, and that they had only submitted for an exam/ ex rays..(that was supposed to be free your office told me when I went there)
- Now I find that Aspen Dental, Port Richey Fl, never bother to submit the bill to my insurance company..
- Not only was I ripped off, your office doesn’t even do their job correctly!
I can’t even begin to tell you how my whole experience with Aspen was a total disaster!
Billing for bridgework and partial
Hello, I am very disappointed in the quality of work received from the Florissant, MO location it started off good the staff was friendly and great customer service but after the service was complete things went soar. I had a front upper bridge placed in February 2021, which I feel that my teeth were filed down to much because it is 1 year now and one of the teeth have broken and the bridge is loose. I was also measured for a upper partial which was not formed correctly because the teeth are in the partial are not full teeth. I told the dentist that the teeth did not feel as if there were enough but he said that they were okay. None the less, upon visiting in August 2021 for a cleaning and advised again of the partial but the dentist did not do another fitting for the partial and said that my bite is okay. Now we are in March 2022, and this bridge is loose and I do not even wear the partial which does not fit. Because the lack of assistance from Aspen, I have gone to another provider who has advised that they may not be able to recement my bridge but may have the bridge replaced. I have already financed over $3000 at Aspen dental. During that same visit I was advised that I had a remaining co-insurance payment of $1400 that I owed. I told the receptionist to add that to my financing. But in November I received a bill stating that I owe $1400 in co-insurance, so I contacted the office to speak to someone in billing but was told someone would contact me back. Needless to say after a week, no one contacted me back, so I called back again to no avail have I received a call back. I called a third time a after a month once I received another bill and the billing person stated to me that they could not add the $1400 to the financing because it has been longer than 160 days past the service date. As of right now, I refuse to sink anymore money at Aspen dental and have taken my service to a reputable dentistry. I am very angry, disappointed, and I feel that there is no reason for me having to have a replacement bridge a year after it being placed. I also feel that I should not have to pay the $1400, this should be written off due to the office's negligence not mine! Also, my suggestion would be a refund for the partial that does not fit and pay for the cost of me having to go to a reputable dentist office to recement / replace the bridge and fix the work that has ruined how I eat and my self esteem at this moment. I don't want any employee from that Florissant Aspen dental provided me with anymore service, I just want a refund so, I can pay the more reputable dentist to fix the work. My name Yolanda Bogan and I can be reached at [protected], contact me so we can resolve this nightmare.
Desired outcome: REFUND for the poor service of the partial and for the $1400 to be written off because it is not my fault that the billing person took to long to move that amount over to the financing!
Pushing excessive services
I went to my first appointment with this group since my Medicare Advantage program had only this group in a 20 mile radius. I have had regular (2-4 times per year) dental care up to this point.
They spent a good 20 minutes doing more Xrays than I have ever had in my 65 years. They then did my "gum measurements" which had 2 pockets at a 5 level and 2 at a 4 level- it had been 6 months since my last dental visit elsewhere.
They discussed my treatment plan and had me meet with the office manager to go over "financials". I did not receive the cleaning I had asked for and was told that they could not "ethically" do a cleaning until I had a scaling done. Their scaling involved using an ultrasonic device for better cleaning beneath the gums, which has been my REGULAR cleaning for the past several years. They refused to set up an appointment for a cleaning until I paid 50% of my responsibility after insurance coverage- $688.00 (insurance does not pay for scaling).
When I asked for an itemized estimate, they had included an electric toothbrush which I did not ask for, a cancer-screening charge, and a mouth rinse for my "developing peridontal disease".
As it turns out, my son had the almost exact conversation when he had gone to Aspen Dental years ago.
I feel they did excessive X-rays and padded the bill with various add-ons in the guise of complete and ethical care.
I will not be returning to any of their offices as this seems to be their modus operandi.
Desired outcome: None desired- lack of trust.
Same exact story for me...Ditto. I went to the Arnold MO location
