long wait for repair and damage during storage.
Bought a 2016 Thor Freedom Elite from them. Water heater went out March 29 2016. Finally went in to fix in April. Had for six weeks. Tested it when I got home, still not fixed. Back in the next day. Had until June 1st, another two weeks plus. Picked up and left for trip to California. Within 45 minutes check engine light came on. Took to Ford and they found rodent damage to wiring. $440 repair not covered by warranty. Contacted Camping World and explained they had had it on their lot for the past month and a half. Was fine when it went in. In my opinion damage occured on their watch. General Manager denied they were responsible. Very poor service and lousy customer care. Will never do any repair work there again. Do yourself a favor and avoid this Camping World at all cost.
2010 eclipse attitude 5th wheel toy hauler
May 2016I traded my camp trailer 2008 Artic Fox in at camping World in Meridian Idaho. We went back and forth on the phone on a 2010 39' 5th wheel Attitude toy Hauler.
According to the salesman it had been gone threw serviced and was in great condition and was well cared for. He sent about 7 pic's. looked great. We did face time so he could show me the trailer. I agreed to trade my trailer for the toy hauler and set a time to pic it up several days later so they could get it ready.
.When we arrived in Meridian about 10:30 am they said to drop my trailer and I could pick the new one up at 1:00.
We finally got to see the trailer about 2:30 pm.
The toy hauler end had patches and it was trashed. I was shocked. The salesman that sold it to me skipped out on the walk threw and sent someone else. They got their manager and he said that was normal wear for the year. Mine was a 2008 and I said no mine was in perfect condition. He said I doubt it and he was sure he could pick it apart easy. So we went to look at my trailer. OOOps, He decided I never took it camping as it looked like new. Sorry Grandma took 4 little kids camping every summer and most the summer.
He said it would cost under $300.00 to replace the paneling. But would take them about 6 months .
They couldn't scroll the 3 tip outs out because it was parked to close the trailers. I took the trailer knowing they had gone threw and checked everything and it was good. We get home and loaded the trailer to head out for a week in the mountains. We went to open the back and you could see about a 2 inch gap in the back, the mount for the latch on the back of the toy hauler door had broke off. We had to drill it out and put a secure bolt in. We parked the trailer late at night and unhooked. The kitchen Slide out wouldn't tip out. The couch side made awful sounds. I put 3 grandkids on the couch and one with me in the bedroom. About 4:20 am 2 kids fell off the couch. I jumped up to see what happened. 1st step fell and hit the wall. Got to the lights no lights. found a flashlight went to start the generator and no power. hunted my jumper charger and went outside to check and jump start the batteries. looking I find one jack had collapsed and the other was about 12 to 15" off the ground and the trailer was tilted bad. Mind you this is a 39' 5th wheel toy hauler. I get back inside and start the generator to get heat for the kids and get them back in bed. about 6:oo am my oldest grandson (11) and I start blocking one side of the trailer and trying to lift it up so I can back my truck under it. 4 hours later we had dug a trench to back under the trailer to get it hooked on the truck. electric jack froze up. we finally get to a town about 13 miles down a dirt road. going 15 miles an hour because one jack was about 8 inches from the ground didn't want to brake it off. called CAMPINGWORLD SEVERAL TIMES TO COME GET THE TRAILER as I would not keep it, they sent a service guy over 5 hours later as we are setting in a pullout me and 4 little kids. He replaced the jack and checked a few things out and said to tow it back to Meridian when We left the mountains as there was several things that needed fixed. I let the guy whom I was dealing with (corporate) manager know I was returning the trailer and wanted my trailer and cash down back. He said he would get me in a different trailer no problem. My son and daughter took of work early and headed up with tools. They followed me back in to the campsite and the toy hauler door opens and comes down. my son is honking and flashing his lights latches on the door sheared off. Went threw 3 tanks of propane in 5 days and didn't even cook in the trailer. Air conditioner didn't work along with many other things. Monday we dropped the trailer at Camping World. I found another trailer better shape as they wouldn't give me my trailer or money back. Locked it up till we could figure it out. They opened the trailer with all my stuff still in it as I had no way to take the four wheelers home. The could have stopped the loan and re did it on the new trailer but told them I would trade the trailer back in. He had them submit for a new loan for over the price of the new trailer and was trying to say my $ 25, 000 dollars for the down was gone AND I HAD TO KEEP THE TRAILER and they would fix it Because I wasn't approved for the almost $ 50, 000.00 with no down. Called corporate and they would do nothing. REALLY. I AM 56 YEARS OLD. GRANDMA WHOSE DAUGHTER PASSED AWAY AND I ADOPTED THE KIDS. DON'T HAVE ALOT OF MONEY BUT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A GRANDMA LIKE THIS IS WRONG. I HAVE WORKED MY TAIL OFF TO GIVE THEM THE LIFE THEY DESERVE AND TO TAKE MY MONEY AND GIVE ME A TRASHED TRAILER FOR OVER $ 40, OOO.00 DOLLERS REALLY
Get a lwyer and have the salesman who sold you the unit personally served. You should also contact your local news agency and see if they have a unit which helps out consumers with these types of issues. Good luck. Camping World has gone to hell and a hand basket.
trying to buy camper
We went to look at trading out travel camper in at Camping World of Chattanooga. We were looking to upgrade our camper for a fifth wheel camper. We looked at several campers the day that we were there and finally decided on a used camper that we really liked. The salesperson that assisted us that day was very nice and this is no way a reflection on her. They had us fill out the papers and they looked at our credit and came back with an offer. Of course we did not like the first offer who does. Then they stated to get them to think that we were really interested we had to sign the paper and give them a credit card which they would not run. Now that does not make any sense to have to give a credit card but whatever. We then left the dealership because e that was very annoying. On the following Monday my husband talked with Jay and stated that he was supposed to be there on Sunday to talk with us and had thrown his back out. Jay assured my husband that he would look at our deal on Monday and get back with him as soon as possible. Jay never got back with us. Another guy called him on May 27th and we were working on a deal and getting really close to the payment that we wanted. And then he just quit texting and getting back with my husband. My husband text him on Saturday with no response. He finally text back on June 3rd and apologized and said that he had been out of town moving his fiancé back from Memphis and moving back here. He was sorry that he had not gotten back with us and stated that he would check when he first went into work that day and he never got back with us. Robert called my husband on Friday morning and told me that he had some numbers for him. I then looked at the camper online again just to look at the pictures again and it stated that a deal was pending on the camper. My husband then called Robert back and he stated that someone else had already put a down payment on the camper. Robert stated that we could come down and put a down payment on the camper too in case the other deal fell through. I feel like we came down on May 21, 2016 and looked at campers and found one that we were really interested in. We both work full time jobs so we were counting on those salespeople to help us with our deal. I feel like they let us down in every aspect. They said they would get back with us but never did. It seemed like we were always pushed to someone else to deal with. I feel like now we are missing out on the camper that we really wanted because of all this. If the salespeople had just been honest and maybe forwarded their work to someone else while they were off it would not have happened. It seems like there is so much lack of communication and the customer suffers which in the end is us. Now the camper that we really liked is probably going to be sold to someone else. I feel like something should have been different. We talked to so many people and I feel like they did not take us seriously at all and I am appalled at this. If this is what your business is based on then its not based on much at all. I am very disappointed and I think that we deserve something for all these things. I am not sure what would be an appropriate resolution but we are willing to listen to your suggestions. I think that we just got the run around at this place. And we will not be hesitate in voicing our opinions. I would appreciate a response back as soon as possible. Here we are leaving on vacation Tuesday and thought we might have our new camper to use to utilize but I guess that will not happen. Thanks for nothing.
addons end of contract
We purchased a fifth wheel from Camper World, Draper, Utah . One in March of 2015. It was a 2007 Keystone Everest, The trailer was 9 years old, They added on a $2025.00 for fabric protection on a 9 year old trailer, really. They told us it was transferable to a different trailer if we sold it. Then they tacked on $1800.00 for tire protection, in case I got a flat tire while traveling. Really that's a lot of bad tires. Road side protection . Yeah. So by the time we were through with Good Sam and everything they had added on with a smile on there little faces a total of $ 5025.00. On the contract I know they did not fabric protector on it they didn't even sanitize the water system. After six months we decided to trade it in for a smaller trailer. A 2012 Keystone Laredo which was a 3 year old trailer, and charged me $2025.00 fabric protection, why would you put that on a 3 year old trailer I know they didn't do that ether I drove by the dealership the day before it was to be delivered it wasn't even moved from the spot it was at. This time I got charged $2100.00 for tire protection in case I got a flat tire. They charged me twice for the same coverage they told us was transferable so with Good Sam this one came to $5125.00 for a grand total of $10, 150.00 of worthless add ones I suggest everyone look at your paper work if you got leather couches you don't need fabric protection. Buyer beware they will cheat you with a smile
crappy rv and even crappier service
Bought a 2015 Thor Miramar 34.1 (36 ft) class a motor coach from Lakewood Camping world a year ago.
Absolutely no one would walk us thru the coach after we bought it to explain any features. Waited for hours and no help. Couldn't even get directions to get back on the highway to get home.
Left for our first trip within weeks and the levelers would not work. We were camping in west Virginia that night and slid out of bed.
The next day the fridge stopped working, awning lights quit and the steps wouldn't work.
Finally got to our destination in Oklahoma and had a local dealer (non camping world) fixed the issues.
Since then we have had chassis electrical issues (both chassis batteries had to be replaced because they wouldn't hold a charge). Awning only works when we climb on the roof and help it out. Doors on the interior have fallen off in our hands and doors come off tracks constantly. Tv antenna retractor also fell apart
Also, windshield wiper fluid motor has never worked.
We call and call Swedesboro Camping world since they are closest and tell them the issues and are promised a call back. Never get them. We call back several times and still no assistance.
Totally unsatisfactory way to deal with your customers. You had zero issues taking $30k down on this coach from us.
And now, I have a medical issue that keeps me from using my coach (severe Vertigo). We have contacted Camping world to sell or coach back and get the run around. Talked to salesmen "Eric" at least twice with promise to talk to sales manager, no call back. We call again and are now told they have enough consignments on their lot. Fine, check with other camping world locations to assist us. Is that a lot to ask? I even went online to your "we buy rv's" site and fill it out. No response.
I spent 24 years in the military to retire to this?
Even when we started down this road to total disappointment and took it back to our purchasing camping world, the staff was astoundingly rude.
NEVER will I recommend your company to ANYONE.

bought a used coach that was a lemon, now cw is ignoring me and refusing to resolve the issues
Purchased a used coach in August 2015 from CW in Bartow/Tampa with around 38k miles on it. Had problems with it since the day I purchased it. Took it back to the dealership immediately, and they had to even come to my home to pick it up and take it back to their shop.-took them 3 times to fix it (or so I thought). Leak, generator wouldn't stay running, carpets were supposed to be cleaned, (but weren't), etc. Now, the brake lines went out while we were driving (per the CW where it was towed to- all the lines are rusted through to the point where pieces of it broke off when touching them). I have only put 75 miles on this coach since I have owned it-and keep it in covered storage. I had to have it towed to a different CW. It is been there for 5 weeks now, because I cant get a response from one of the GMs at the Bartow/Tampa store regarding correcting the issues. I have emailed and left voice mails numerous times. I purchased the unit with these existing safety issues, problems, etc, (and they obviously didn't do any type of inspections on the coach before they sold it). They are refusing to correct the problems. My family and I could have died if the brake lines went out if we were driving any faster. Classless management, shameful customer service, horrible service department. I will be taking this further up the chain. I have all documentation, emails, photos, etc. Repairs for the brake lines alone are $2k, generator still doesn't work, and underbody of coach has existing rust (a lot of it).

We Left our Prowler 2007 trailer with the Camping World located at 1600 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015 on December 11, 2015. The work order was for $2226 worth of repairs and a replacement awning. Since we were leaving it for an extended period of time to have the work done, we asked if it would be safe on their lot. They affirmed it would. The...
Read full review of Camping Worldmisrepresentation of day/night shade fabric
We ordered a new night shade for our toy hauler. When it arrived, it looked nothing like the fabric sample online. The Camping world store in San Martin was no help at all, they referred me to customer service, because it was a special order. Customer service contacted the shade company and they sent a picture of the fabric we picked. I took a picture of the completed shade and sent it to Camping World. Their samples are a close up of the material, they don't show the whole pattern, what we thought was a criss-cross texture, turned out to be a bunch circles/water spots. There's no way the picture on-line comes close to the finished product. Anyone with common sense could see that. They offered a $30 dollar credit for a new shade, I don't think I should have to pay anything for their misrepresentation of the fabric. The shade was $80 +tax, so I asked, make it $40, we'll split it. No can do they said. They can sponsor NASCAR's Camping World Truck Series but can't cough up $10 more. They just lost a 17 year customer. And it's not just because of money, it's their refusal admit their mistake. I have Pan Pacific and See Grins RV right down the road. They will get my business from now on.
Dear Customer,

parts department
Wanted a part to replace a broken part. Ceiling adjustable vent. I brought in the broken one, part guy looked up and was asking me to look in the book and pick one I said I want the one that matches this one (broken example). After a bit of flipping pages he came to the decision to order one well I wanted two ok $55. dollars later. They called when they came in...Wrong color and did not match old part. I said that it was not right nor the right color, he proceeded to tell me that I decided on the part in the catalog and it was special order and I could not be refunded. I am out $55. You have lost a customer! Not my first experience with Camping World, the first one in Dothan Alabama cost them a Class A motorhome sale, I went to another dealer and bought. I tried to trade last month again at a Camping World in Louisiana and again disappointment. I will not be doing business with Camping World again. Just a little effort from your representatives would go a long way but the majority of my dealings have been with people who just do not have the right people skills nor the desire to ensure customer satisfaction. I am sure this is not all of your employees but I have had my fill.
during the period of body repairing of theft of personal items
On the 29th of November 2015, I brought my Damon Astoria into Camping World Of Katy, Texas for repairs to the rear left section of my RV. I was to have it there by 8:00 am on Monday morning and seeing I live approximately 93 miles I drove there on Sunday to make sure I was there on time. As I checked in Monday morning I told them my RV was my HOME and I...

I purchase a used 2013 Motorhome and was told that they would perform a $2, 00.00 inspection to assure everything was working. When I picked it up everything seemed like it worked but some things, like the water system couldn't be checked. 4 months later I take it on the first trip and it quickly becomes a disaster. Water pump starts making a very loud...

I have purchased 2 batteries from Camping World. After one month I went to the auto store and they have checked these batteries. They said that they didn’t hold the charge. The company doesn’t want to replace them and said that these batteries were useful already. They could do nothing. I have paid $150 per ach battery and was shocked that after a month I needed new ones.
refunds for cancelled good sam products
When we purchased our Thor Motor Coach Hurricane 32A on 9/18/13 we had to purchase, in cash, Good Sam Gap Deficiency and a Good Sam Extended Service Plan. Of course, this money was due before we drove off the lot. On July 15, 2015 we sold the motorhome and were told we needed to sign papers requesting a refund of the two Good Sam policies. As soon as we...

I ordered a $1, 000 AC unit it took them a week just to email me that it was on backorder and then took another 15 days to arrive. There wasn't a dent or scratch on the box it came in. When we took it out the box it had 5 broken pieces we had no choice but to install it we had been without AC for a month already. I called customer service and told them that I needed a new one before I sent this back I couldn't wait another two weeks she said ok we will get back to you within 48 hours. four days later I call again and from the get go this guy didn't seem too happy with his job he literally cut me off mid sentence and put me on hold and hung up, if it wasn't on purpose why did he never call me back, so I call back and I was pretty mad so I apologize to the kind lady in advance and told her what had just happened she was totally nice and understandable she told me that in the system it said that I was to print out the papers on the internet and stick it on the box and return it first off I never received that email secondly I had to explain again that I have to have a replacement before I send this back and she understood and told me to please wait a second & that she wouldn't hang up on me that she had tI talk to her supervisor she comes back and tells me there's no way they can do that, that's their policy and I told her we spent $1000 there was no dings on the box so I it wasn't UPS it was placed in the box that way I told her there was no way I'm sending this back and its take another 2 weeks for this package to get there and another two weeks for them to send one out again she talked to her supervisor again another 2 or 3 times before we finally had something resolved but in the end I still had to pay for a brand new product that would take 2 weeks to get here. I asked her if there was going to be any problems with getting my reimbursement from the first a.c. and she told me it would all be taken care of. I feel like I shouldn't have to call four times to resolve an issue that should have never taken place in the beginning I believe that this is not very good customer service making the customer pay twice for a mistake that happened on your end and cause so much stress. I have photos but when I try to attach them it says the photos are too large.
shipping: slow & expensive
I tried to order an RV inline water filter via the Camping World website. I received an error message to enter shipping and billing info. However, shipping and billing info were already entered, so I called customer support and placed the order with an actual person -- who had poor elocution and terrible spelling skills. The call took a long time and then it turns out shipping was going to be almost $8 for one little item. OK, Fine. Whatever. It was still less than driving out to the only place that has this particular water filter + time and travel. But then it was announced to me that shipping would take 10 to 14 business days. So I asked to cancel the order and she said yes, but putting the money back on my credit card would take...you guessed it: 10 to 14 business days. The lesson here: ask about shipping before committing. The take-away: DON'T DEAL WITH CAMPING WORLD.
customer service
I placed an order for a camping chair for an upcoming trip. After I checked out I was THEN told that it could take 14 days to receive my chair.
I emailed them and asked to expedite the shipping as I needed it in a week and I was not given any shipping options at checkout. I received an email back stating that they don't have any other shipping options. I told them that I needed it for a specific date and that I was disappointed in the fact that I was not made aware of the long shipping times BEFORE I paid for the item. I then got a cheesey automated reply thanking me for letting them know that I was unhappy.
I replied again and got the same automated response. I decided to cancel my order and purchase the item with another company. I was told that my order had been cancelled and that my card would NOT be charged, but now TWO days later there is a charge on my card. I contacted them and showed them the proof that I was told my card would NOT be charged.
The answer I got was that it would take 5-7 business days to refund it. This company and its Customer Service are HORRIBLE!
I have never experienced such incompetence.Stay away from them!
