automotive service
First off, I am a big fan of Canadian Tire and this specific location! I have been coming here for at least 15 years.
I wanted to let you know about 2 specifics problems I have had recently, with the Service Centre.
About a month ago I had a problem installing a shock. I booked it in to get a bolt drilled out and the shock fixed. After a week, the bolt came loose and fell out. After talking to staff at your store, they determined that I had more wrong with my truck, and would not acknowledge that the Tech might not have tightened up the bolt correctly! I chose to leave a poor rating on google.
When I came in today for a tire repair and a review of my suspension on my other vehicle, the MANAGER (I think), came up to me and told me it would be several hours before he could look at the vehicle (which is fine). He also mentioned that I was the one who wrote the terrible review on google and that the situation resulting in the poor review was my fault! I was shocked, but let it go.
I came back to pick up my vehicle after a phone call to say it was ready! The same Manager (in black shirt and big gold watch) was still there. I asked if he wanted to talk about my google review.
He replied with, "Nope, you said what you said and that's it."
I have written over 100 google reviews on various businesses around Calgary and only about 5 have been negative.
At this point, I am not sure if I am more upset, or concerned, that this person represents Canadian Tire (a brand I have always valued).
If anyone would like to discuss this and my google review, please contact me.
Sincerely
Brad

an employee
I am dealing with you guys from last three years at the automotive department and today I went in to get the quote for winter tires at the Penticton location and your employee BOB working at the desk gave me the worst experience as he was being so rude and was so unprofessional that I don't think that i ll come back to you guys and probably even ask my friends that not to go there as me and my friends have about 6 cars and we used to get the service, inspection done from you just because of that guy.
hamilton beach duo flex coffee maker
Hi there,
I bought the Hamilton Beach duo cup coffer maker just short of two years ago from from your store in London. I'm terribly disappointed in this product!
I basically gave up on it about 6 months ago when it stopped functioning completely...
What has happened throughout time
1) When the single-serve worked, it tasted like plastic (how toxic!)
2) Single serve has endless errors and stopped working
3) single serve started bursting out hot water at the seems (burnt me on several occasions)
4) It never got hot enough.
Is this covered by warranty (your website says 5 years). Can you advise on my next steps?
I am in the position of needing to buy another coffee maker to replace this horrible product and am questioning ever buying Hamilton Beach brand again because of this poor, poor experience. And, questioning Canadian Tire for even stocking this item, since I have been a dedicated, long-time customer that prefers to purchase from a Canadian chain. Very disappointed..
Can you please get back to me on my options?
Best,
Andrea

Im very mad and i wont ever be coming back i want my money back for this poor service!
tire centre customer care
I purchased tires & had them installed Aug 10, 2018. The service includes an inspection list that is gone through & the customer is informed if any visual maintenance is required. My brakes were visually inspected and checked of as "Good". Last week I noticed a sound on my brakes, and got them inspected - they were completely gone! I have taken pictures of my receipt, the checklist, the odometer reading at that time, and now. There is absolutely no way that my brakes were visually inspected as indicated on the receipt. I am very disappointed in this customer service, and the false promotion of a visual inspection of my truck, but in actuality, this service isn't being done. Now I have no confidence whatsoever that anything on the list was actually checked by the staff member(s). I have attached receipt and pictures.
Thank you,
H. Wayne Gardipy
company policy
I made a purchase of a dehumidifier on September 2, 2018 at the regular price of $379.99. My husband and I received a flyer in the mail 2 days later, September 4, showing a sales price of$199.99, the sale to start on the 6th of September. When I went to the store on September 5 to get a price adjustment I was told that she could not do it, price adjustment, that day and to come back when the flyer STARTED that's the only time she could do a price adjustment. I am extremely angry over this incident, wasting my time only to be told to come back later! This is one of a few bad experiences lately with Canadian Tire. I will be packing the product up and returning it. I have resisted shopping online until now... thanks CT for the bad experience!
She can't do a price adjustment BEFORE the price changes. It doesnt go on sale until the 6th, so there is no price in the system to adjust. It is no different than you walking into the store the day before the sale and trying to buy an item that is in the next week's flyer. This isn't their fault, but yours.
the product they posted to be available online has no available stock in actual store
Canadiantire.ca - false deceptive information on the product listed - did not try to resolve customer complaint I found the item "gracious living 8-drawer white tower" product #[protected], listed on canadiantire. Ca on sale for 1/2 of its regular price: $59.99 - sale price is $29.99. On september 3, 2018, it showed that they have 7 in stock. That same day, knowing that they have it, I went to their store located at: 250 silver linden drive richmond hill, on l4b 4w7 [protected] I went to aisle # 52 as mentioned on their site, and couldn't find the items. I went to customer service and spoke to taz, she confirmed that her system also shows they have 7 in stock. When I informed her that there is none, she paged for a sales associate to meet me in aisle# 52, who told me, "yeah sorry, I know the system is showing we have 7, the manager is aware of this issue, he's been looking for them and can't find them". I went back to taz again, I told her what the sales associate said. I requested a rain check, but, she refused to give me one and said this is because the store shows that this item is in stock that's why she can't give me a rain check. I said, "yes it shows you have stock on both your website listing and your local store system, however, you don't have the physical item available!, therefore you should give me a rain check, I lost time, cost of gas and milage". She said she can't give any rain checks. I told her that I don't agree with her decision and this is deceptive/false advertising, I came from afar all the way to the store only to find out they have none in stock. I asked for a store manager, yonie came, and told him exactly the same thing, he said he can't give me a rain check. They did not even offer to call other stores for me, to check which store has this in stock. I believe this is one of canadian tire's way to bring customers to their store - false deceptive advertising. So, when customers come for something, they buy other things at the same time. I advised taz and yonie that I will post this story public and will also contact the head office, they said that's fine and it's my right to do that. Canadian tire customer service is terrible! Search canadian tire reviews or canadian tire complaints on google to read what people say about canadian tire. Canadian tire product listings are misleading.
They had a glitch in the system, they were incredibly apologetic and they explained to you what happened. It wasn't deceptive, it was not meant to create a problem, it was a system error and they explained that they were aware of it but unfortunately it is not something they had any control of at the time. You seem to be under the impression that because you didn't get the result YOU wanted, that means it is poor customer service and deception and false advertising. Just because things don't go your way it doesn't make it poor customer service. If it is a system issue, then calling the other stores regarding stock wouldn't work either since their inventory system wouldn't be up to date either.
fishing rod and reel and solar lights
I had purchased a fishing rod and reel and a 10 pack solar lights from Canadian tire Nanaimo August 28th or 29th. I paid 61.95 for the rod and reel and 49.95 for the solar lights. I was spending the weekend in Port Alberni Fishing and the rod tip broke I took it to Canadian Tire in Port Alberni and they replaced it. I cant say enough good things about that store. I notice my rod 51.95 a ten dollar difference in the Port Alberni Store and my solar lights were 34.95 a 15.00 difference I took my bill to the Nanaimo store for a refund difference they told me they couldn't do it giving me some lame excuse why the price difference. As a consumer it don't matter to me if the item is cheaper in another branch then it should be credited. I will not shop at Canadian Tire Nanaimo the staff are rude customers do not matter to them . Kudos to the Port Alberni store customer service is still top of there list.
management
My husband was being harrassed by the manager and a so called undercover. They were falsely accusing him of stealing a knife. My husband who was on the phone with a client put his phone down emptied his pockets and showed the money in his wallet. They kept saying they seen him on video and when I asked to see video they denied me, I also asked if they were sure it was him and not someone else who might be wearing some colors as him an they insisted it was him. My husband had told them even tho he didn't steal their knife that we would pay for it but the undercover insisted on being very rude towards my husband an myself. Which is wasnt my husband, so not only did they embarrass him and made him lose his job because of the false accusations but they arrested a guy outside the store that happened to be wearing the same color clothes as my husband. The undercover was making threats to my husband an I as we left the store. Now my husband spends a lot of time an money in this store because we always buying stuff for our 66 Plymouth VIP, and household items. Which I didnt get to buy the items I had in my cart due to the issue we had with the store manager. Also nobody ever around to ask for some help or advice, the store is always dirty as well as the washrooms. No one has customer service skills. I'm very disappointed with this place.
Unfuckingreal! Go to Canadian tire yesterday with the intention of buying a socket set I saw on their online flyer. I take out $200 cash out of the bank machine, throw my 81 yr old dad in the car and off I go. Walk in the door and we are "greeted" by some 102 lb geek in a security uniform doing his best to look tough, (Wal Mart has a "greeter", Can. Tire has a "security gaurd") Oh yeah, my dad & I stopped to look at the literal [censored]ing giant collage of previously caught shoplifters that are banned they have on the wall in the entrance foyer, before youre actually in the store. So as usual I see no one in a red Canadian Tire shirt (save for the checkout gals) so I go directly to aisle 40 where the website said they were. No one around, 5 minutes I'm pacing around the tool section looking for a red shirt, finally I get somekne to unlock the glass display and he hands me the socket set, i look at it, and say to my dad "ok lets go get a couple more things and go" the guy rips the socket set from me! (frikkin $79 peice of crap) and says it will be at self-checkout for you. WHAT THE [censored]?!. I'm not allowed to carry my socket set around while I grab a couple more things?! What, I'm gonna stick it down my [censored]in pants, or make my 81 yr old five foot nuthin' dad put it under his coat?! [censored]in thing is $79 for one thing and for another thing...uuhh lets see now...oh yeah..I HAVE NO INTENTION OF STEALING ANYTHING! That goddamn store makes you feel like a theif the second you walk in the store, then it's, zero "red shirts" and lotsa idiot "store dicks" peeking around corners, following people around, spying, harassing decent folks that came there to spend $. [censored] you Can. Tire, I'm done with you, taking this socket set back, get my money and go to the local Mom & Pop hardware store and buy one.
tire change
My father was waiting four hours for his truck tires to be changed. Right when he turned to get out of the Canadian Tire lot, his tire fell off. His brakes are broken, the tire is broken and there is damage inside where the tire is inputted. This could of been dangerous for himself and others around him, and we do not accept this from this company. We are very frustrated and currently do not want to come back nor do we want people we know to come back. We would like to be contacted with what you can do. My email is [protected]@gmail.com.
auto repair
I took my Mercedes for a simple battery change and 3 1/2 hours later I'm told they dont know what's wrong and the truck wont start. They advised they "googled" how to change the battery and dont know what's wrong. If the techs dont know how to service a particular brand of car why take it? I've now missed 3 client meetings and a potential of thousands in commission income.
I don’t want your credit card! I just want my gas!
Ok this is borderline harassment+fraud at this point. The gas bars are now having big discounts on gas and while people are pumping this $0.05/Litre off, approaching them for the purpose of convincing people to sign up for credit cards. Then they follow you into the store when you go to pay and try to put the savings onto a card you didn't sign up for as an example. I've known people who have gotten these cards in the mail after filling up at gas sales. But I suppose Canadian Tire is above having ethical practices.
customer service and product sale..
I had a veired experince today at one of the store at 1450 corbusier Laval store. There is one sun shelter demo model on sale. I want to buy so I asked some one who is responsible person for this section.he advised that I have to ask at Customer service for more information. When my turn came after haln an hour, the lady who served me, asked some other persons in the store about these as she was not sure how to deal this kind of situation. After few minutes of waiting one guy (was not seems supervisor or manager) came to the counter and told me that if I have to buy it than I have to dismental it from the store..which is really sounds stupid and weird, so I explain them that this should not be the way...than after another few minutes later he and one of the supervisor told me that if i cant dismental it than I have to pay 350$ to them for dismental charge...I am not agree with this stupid policy...I am not happy with there customer service and behaviour if lady Marie pier...This issue need to be solve please..Thank you.
RK
Sorry not able to upload documents, showing its more than capacity. I had a small piece of paper given mentioning the price of sun shelter and dismantlement.
Adding, supporting documents...
credit card
I guess there is a reason why this store pushes there credit cards so much; it's so they can bolster there actual sales profits with the apparent skimming of peoples' Canadian Tire credit cards, likely amounting to a substantial sum of money. When you finally get to speak with someone about it, they tell you that they will NOT do anything about it. What kind of business is this? A very dirty one, that i personally will avoid from now on.
mastercard account
In June, 2018 someone fraudulently charged $ 650 to my account. I contacted Cdn. Tire and told them about this and they said that it would be removed from my account. On my next July statement I noticed that this amount was still on my account . I called them again and they said don't worry Mr. Olauson this amount will be removed ! Now in August I see that this amount is still not removed and they have added $ 23.44 [ 19.99 % interest charges ] I had trouble getting ahold of the accounting department but finally spoke to A Roxanne and she told me now that they were not going to remove this ! I am a 74 year old who has been dealing with Cdn. Tire for many years and can't believe what has happened ! Please help me…thank you.
cashier "sarah"
Hello.
I had ordered 3 items online a couple of weeks ago to be picked up at the
300 Maidstone Avenue West
Essex, ON N8M 2X6
Canadian Tire Location. I arrived to pick up the items on Tuesday, August 14th, at 6PM. After receiving the first two items, the cashier, ***Sarah*** (young girl with dark hair), told me that I still needed to pay for the third item.
I explained to her that I had already paid for the item online ahead of time, to which she replied "no, you didn't". After reiterating that I did, in fact, pay for the item already, she flatly and rudely repeated "no, you didn't".
I then told her that I had paid online with my mastercard. This time... again, but much louder, she exclaimed "NO, YOU DIDN'T PAY FOR IT".
I then pulled out my phone and opened up my Capital One statement showing the exact amount that was debited, and matched it up with the price of the item for her to see.
Without a word, she then finished the transaction and told me to "have a nice day". No apology, no sincerity... nothing.
I frequent Canadian Tire anywhere from once a week to once a month and in 31 years of being alive, I can honestly say that this is the first bad experience I've ever had with anyone at Canadian Tire. I sincerely hope management finds it necessary to send Sarah (the young girl with dark hair) for some additional customer service training (and training in general, as she can't seem to figure out which items are paid for and which are not). Additionally, I don't think hiring entitled snobs in the first place is very good for business.

vehicle repairs
I recently had my truck service done with canadian tire in airdrie Alberta.
I wanted all parts removed or replaced to be put in the bed. Of my truck. Not one part was in the truck when I picked up my vehicle.
I was told the metal recycling company and the tire recycling company took all the broken and replaced parts of which they were still good tires only one had got a screw in it. And when I asked for replacement they installed a different class of tire forcing me to buy 3 more.
I want all my parts that were removed from my truck and the canadian tire money is not paid on cc transactions so I lost out on 131.57 as well I could of paid on debit if i was made aware of this
Please contact me for the paperwork and further information

lack of personal on floor and checkouts
This Salmon Arm Canadian Tire has got to be one of the worst stores for costumer service. For the past months now, there has been a lack of personal on the floor to help customers and long lines at the checkouts. It seems the experienced staff have left and we are left with too few experienced staff to help. It is much better to go to Walmart than stand in a very long line. I rarely complain but after working for Jack Juusola for more than 15 years and converting the present location of this store, on line training was a yearly "must", it appears that is not the case anymore. I can see and hear the unsatisfied costumers. This town deserves better. Dave Bruce [protected] Retired
auto service staff
I went into Canadian Tire in Collingwood for an oil change and Jenn was extremely rude. She should not be in a customer facing role. Absolutely miserable to deal with. I listened to her interact with multiple customers after myself, and she was very condescending.
I will no longer come to this location for auto service if this is how customers are being treated. Completely unacceptable.
