Canadian Tire Kick me out for wear my backpack

I was look at car wax and undercover loss officer came up to me and told me to put down the wax and leave this store now. I laughed. Seriously he said, you gotta go. Then a woman manager came and told me to leave or she's call the police. Why I asked? No laws broken I'm not doing any wrong here. I'm pay for my wax and I will leave. You people are pathetic.

Desired outcome: Have security watch people enter and advise us no backpacks are allowed now. It the size of a woman's purse. How about I carry it like a purse then ??

Canadian Tire Dog access

On Saturday August 6th I entered the Canadian Tire in Canmore AB with my dog. I was told to leave, that dogs are no longer allowed in that particular Canadian Tire. On further investigation, it transpired that ONE local resident had complained of dogs being allowed in the store and so dogs are now banned. Outside, there were 3 other people with their dogs wondering what to do in order to purchase what they needed from the store. All of us were on holiday in the area and therefore the only options were to leave an animal in a hot hot vehicle or simply leave. Most of us chose to leave and take our business elsewhere. Everyone was very upset. Canadian Tire is losing a lot of tourist business in Canmore.

Desired outcome: Revert to national Canadian Tire policy and allow dogs in the store.

Canadian Tire Canadian tire store in canmore

I recently went camping in Banff, Alberta. I stopped at Canadian Tire in Canmore, only to find that this year, they had banned access to dogs.

I travel alone with my dog when camping. I talked to staff and learnt that the dog ban came because of ONE PERSON COMPLAINING. There were multiple people who had dogs with them, and were unable to enter the store.

I DID NOT go shopping in that store, as there was no way I was leaving my dog in the hot car.

I'm very disappointed to see Canmore, change their dog policy because of the complaints of one person, versus the use of hundreds of campers with dogs.

Desired outcome: Reverse the ban of dogs in store

Canadian Tire Auto Service

I took my car to Canadian tire Regent in Winnipeg for sensor installation, one of my tires came out with a cat, the technician said it came like that while my previous tire service was done with infiniti and all my tires were perfect, calling the manager, he just said we are not gonna buy tou any tire, there is nothing we can do. So you can take your car to Canadian tire for service and be prepared for more damage or take it where they can fixe it with peace of mind.

Canadian Tire Cover for outdoor couch

When we got it home it was ripped. We decided to buy one from the place where we bought the couch from instead as the quality was poor on this item. The store refused to refund my money as we had 'opened' the product. How else were we to find out it was defective? If it had been in good shape we never would have returned it. They insisted on a store credit. One employee said it was because we opened it, the manager (?) said as it was under warranty we could have a replacement. We just wanted to return it so we could go somewhere else to buy a better one. I always thought Canadian Tire was a better company than that. I couldn't be more disappointed. Customer service is horrible everywhere these days, but I thought we could still count on our Canadian Tire store. Very sad.

Desired outcome: I would like an apology

Canadian Tire Battery 20v

Bought a battery 20v sold in a transparant plastic case, had no choice to cut the plastic at the top of the case to retreive the battery and found out that no charger was provided for this battery. Went to return the product and was told that their policy does not accept a full refund for items that our open. Note: had no choice to open the case to determine no charger was provided. Now found another product at a lower price with charge at a competitor and only options I have to receive a store credit.

I believe the company has the responsiblity due to the nature of the packing in this case to apply full refund as per other items delivery in box.

Buyer beware of purchasing any products at Canada Tire that have a plastic and tight packaging since refund will not be possible

Canadian Tire customer service

Store: Scarborough 3553 Lawrence Ave East. Cedarbrae Mall [protected]

official complaint customer service ( roughly between 1 and 3pm)

On July 24 teller on till number 1. refused to process order

Tills 1, 2, 3 and 4 Open. only 2 cashiers at the time. there was a line up (4 people waiting). Till 1 and Till 3 only tills open at the time and processing customer purchased. yet the other 2 tills (2 and 4) staff gathered around Till 3 talking, not servicing customers.

Getting frustrated with the slow service I moved to Till 1.

When I asked the cashier at Till 1 why there was no service on Tills 2 and 4

she immediately left her station and when over to Till4 ? confused by her actions. She asked me what I had left behind as she couldn't find it. at this point I was extremely frustrated. I told her " I DIDNT LEAVE ANYTHING AT TILL 4. " Cashier at Till 3 told me not so rude as there was a some misunderstanding. I responded all I wanted was someone to process my order so I could on my way. Cashier at Till 1 then pointed to a sign on the wall and refused to cash me out and go me to another Till.

I responded that wasn't going to happen and walked out the store leaving behind a concrete umbrella base

I drove to another CTC location at Sheppard.

You may want to retrain this cashier (TILL1) with refresher on customer service and maybe a ESL course.

If this is the way your staff treats your customers. I wont be shopping at this CTC store again. Will advise friendly and family to also avoid this store

Other CTC stores in the area: Sheppard, St Clair and Eglinton

whats happened customer service. with the economy the way it is .. you can't afford to loose customers.

Canadian Tire Yokohama Tire with pinhole leak in sidewall

On May 5th I purchased 4 Yokohama tire online. I had them installed 2 weeks later by my mechanic.

Approximately 5 weeks later and no more than 200km driven, I notice one morning that the drivers side rear tire was flat. I filled it with a pump I keep in the trunk and after a few hours it remained inflated so I figured I probably picked up a nail and made an appointment with my mechanic to repair it. Four days later I get to the mechanic, he removes the tire and there was no nail or screw to be found. He checked the valve for leaks and it was fine. There was definitely a leak and it wasn't until the tire lay on the puddled cement that we could hear a slight hissing. That's when we found a pin hole leak on the side wall which is not repairable.

I went to the Canadian Tire (Store 214) and the only thing they said without even looking at the tire, is "road hazard" not our problem you need to deal with Yokohama. So I purchased a new tire and called Yokohama. They stated that the tire needs to be inspected by an authorized Yokohama dealer like Canadian Tire and a report submitted. So I brought the tire back to Canadian Tire where the service manager did an inspection. Since I had already found the area, it took her only a few sprays of water to locate the leak. According to her if I had had them installed at Canadian Tire there would be no issue.

So she wrote a report that the tire was not repairable because of a hole in the side wall. The tire had no visible damage at all but she omitted to include that info. So I filed all the documents required to Yokohama and they tell me that Canadian Tire is responsible with handling warranty issues on their tires.

I went back and forth 3 times with Canadian Tire and Yokohama.

Eventually, the service manager says to me it was probably road hazard and when I asked her for examples of a road hazards that would occur without me knowing it, her examples were lacking. Finally, I stated that through this ordeal I came to realize that the tires I bought in May 2022 were made in April 2019.. Would the fact that the tires have been sitting around for 3 years have anything to do with the defect, because if there are not stored properly defects can occur.

Also, I noted that my invoice didn't say "sold as is Final Sale"

Well that sort of hit a nerve and she told me look it's been over 30 days since I purchased the tire on line so I need to deal with Yokohama. "not my problem" were her exact words

This is the last email I received from Customer service Manager at Yokohama

"Hi John,

My warranty department confirmed that Canadian Tire is responsible for any warranty on a manufacturer defect, regardless of where they are installed. You may be responsible for labour if they determine it to be a road hazard.

Good luck,

Desired outcome: I would like a refund for the 5th tire and an apology for having been submitted to such a run around.please send any questions or correspondence to [protected]@gmail.com Thank you

Canadian Tire Scan code practice

I visited your store at 2070 appleby line in Burlington, Ontario on Wednesday July 20, 2022 at 3:46 pm.

My visit was to purchase a garden hose that was advertised in your flyer for the week of july 15 through to july 21.

The item - garden hose [protected] regular price 59.99 sale 35.99

I found them displayed on an endcap. 4 hooks high, 4 across each with a label

clearly stating the item and the price of 35.99 - ending sale date of july 21.

I purchased 2. Upon leaving I noticed they had scanned incorrect at 39.99.

I went back into store to customer service. I dealt with Austin and was told they would honour the sale price. When I asked about the scan code of practice which they clearly display I was told that did not apply to sale items.

I challenged the answer and the store manager came to talk with me. He pulled up a revised version of the code that was not displayed. The revised version reads - "the code does not apply where sale dates are printed on the label and the sale has expired." The manager said being the sale price had a date it was not eligible. I pointed out the wording actually says if expired which clearly this was not the case. He refused to honour the scan code and would not offer the scan code discount. Said it was not a law. No it is not, but you have chosen to participate and honour the code? He said they would honour the sale price (it was still on sale on the ticket as well as in flyer!) like he was doing a huge favour.

The surprising thing I also learned from the manager was that the error occured as they already loaded next weeks flyer prices that starts on July 22.

This causes any item that is adverised at a different price to override the current sale. While this is great for a cheaper price it is sure to effect numerous items at a higher price. The entire scan code practice was created to ensure consumers the promise of accurate price scanning. How is loading new prices prematurely supporting this practice?

Desired outcome: I would like the store to honour the scan code and refund me $10.00. An apology for making me feel belittled and rude for even suggesting that they honour the price code.

Canadian Tire Incorrect product information on line

I bought the Yardworks trimmer [protected] specifically because Yardworks support answered a question 18 days ago on line saying Pwr Pod batteries work in this unit. I have a blower/trimmer that both use Pwr Pods.

The answer from Yardworks support is WRONG. The batteries DO NOT work & are not interchangeable. I got this trimmer to the cottage only to find I couldnt use it because I had to return it. Regretably it cost me lost time and gas money. It's a specific question on your own page in the Q & A section that is wrong answered by Yardworks support, not another customer.

I bought the unit based on that answer so all the tools would have the same battery & charger. Its incorrect!

Desired outcome: The store refunded the money. Need a more costly tool now. Store manager in Renfrew said they dont control site or online when I suggested removing the post. Minimum take the incorrect info down?! Very poor store response.

Canadian Tire Raleigh Huck Dual Suspension Mountain Bike, 21-Speed, 29-in

We bought a Raleigh Huck Dual Suspension Mountain Bike, 21-Speed, 29-in while we were visiting him in Courtenay BC. The store assembled it because they said the warranty is only valid if they put it together. The second time my son went out on the bike the chain jammed in the gears and he crashed. When he brought it to be repaired, they stated it was functional when he bought it so it wasn't their fault. This bike was obviously not properly adjusted and shouldn't have failed during it's second use. We are very disappointed in the quality of the bike and the lack of support from Canadian Tire and from Raleigh. My son should be able to return this bike for a full refund or at least have it replaced.

Desired outcome: Please refund or replace the faulty bike.

Canadian Tire Canadian Tire purchase

We purchased an electric bike for $2,000. at Canadian Tire on Hunt Club in Nepean, ON and had all kinds of problems with it. Had to bring it to a bike shop for repair at a cost of $140. Also they would not give any Canadian Tire money at all on the 2,000. Why? When we went back there, the woman at Customer Service said it would only be 70 cents anyway. The Raleigh bike was new and should not have had to be serviced by another bike shop. Canadian Tire cannot fix their new bikes before selling them.

Desired outcome: What will be done about this. We will no longer purchased items from any Canadian Tire because they cannot be trusted.

We had a similar experience with the Canadian Tire in Courtenay, BC. We bought a Raleigh Huck Dual Suspension Mountain Bike, 21-Speed, 29-in for our son and they told us it would only be under warranty if they put it together. The bike broke the second time my son took it out with the gears jamming the chain causing him to crash. When he brought it for repairs they refused to repari or replace it stating it worked when they tested it when they built it. This no return policy is not acceptable and I agree, they cannot be trusted.

Canadian Tire Raleigh - Huck Dual Suspension - 29" Mountain Bike

Purchased June 21, 2021. Paid 700$

Week 1 the steering was loose and he wiped out. I tightened the collar.

Week 7 (Mid Aug) Rear wheel was wobbling – could not ride. Hub retainer in rear wheel was missing. Took wheel back and it was replaced. What damaged was done?

Week 10 )Sept) Chain broke – I repaired it. What damage was done?

Getting ready for this year (April):

Front derailer would not shift into all 3 positions – only 2 . Was this from previous incidents?

Chain broke again. What damage was done from the sudden jarring?

Replaced chain. Everything seemed ok, expect front derailer.

Chain jammed and broke and twisted rear derailer into spokes resulting in badly bent derailer and possibly bent spokes.

June 03, 2022 – all sprockets on rear wheel were free spinning. Manger on shift said the bike looked well riden (impossible as it has been out of order several times since purchased). He also said it looked poorly maintained ( impossible as it was just in for repairs and an overall check up by your 3rd party bicycle technicians).

July 4, 2022 – chain broke (this was replaced when the rear sprocket issue was repaired 1 month ago)!

Bike is very poor quality! Looking for a refund as I have had nothing but issues with this one!

Canadian Tire Re: Cancelled Order: [protected], Jun 22 2022

Jun 28, 2022

Re: Cancelled Order: [protected], Jun 22 2022

To whom it may concern:

On the 22 Jun 2022, I purchased a Set of 4 new tires (MotoMaster AWII all season, Size: 215/75R15 100T) for a total of $272.24 at your store in Kingston, ON.

Unfortunately, the purchase was unexpectedly cancelled even if at the time of purchase the product was available at this location (see enclosures). I returned to your website and spent a long time trying to reorder different models without success. I then called the store and found out the tires were no longer available for unknown reasons.

I think this isn’t living up to your obligation and requesting the items as advertised. As this item was on the website, the purchase took place and I was expecting to have these tires. I would appreciate your company providing me with tires at the same price you advertised on your website and as clearly understood by your customers.

Copies of this transaction including tire size, model, etc… are available. Any new tire fitting this description at the same price would be considered acceptable to me.

I look forward to your reply and a resolution to this problem and will wait a few days before I seek other assistance. Please contact me at the number email below.

Sincerely,

Éric Larouche

Enclosure (s) AVAILABLE

Desired outcome: Any new tire fitting this description at the same price would be considered acceptable to me.

Canadian Tire Service

I ordered a HB Handmixer back in the late fall of 2021, Canadian tire gave me a rain check for the sale price of the mixer. Over time we forgot about our rain rain but on June 24 Mount Forest Canadian Tire called me and told me that my unit was it and I could pick it up at the store with the appropriate receipts. I informed the caller that we were shocked that it the rain check was still available to us... it took us a while to find the rain check receipt but we finally located it. I made the 30 minute drive to Mount Forest on June 26 and the Manager at that time told me they could not give me the rain check, in fact the manager was somewhat rude about the entire situation leaving me embarrassed standing there at the check while she (the manager) left to do research on another computer (I assume) the line up was getting longer behind me. If it was too old then why did Canadian call me, you need to improve this process or at least correct it to ensure it does not happen again. ? - poor customer service. SKU [protected]

thanks

Desired outcome: Tell me how this happened, why did Canadian Tire call me to come pick up the mixer when they new the rain check was over 6 months old - Fix it

Canadian Tire Damaged cv boot while replacing tie rod

On May 30th, 2022, I took my vehicle to the Huntsville Canadian Tire Automotive department to have my bearing and tire rod replaced on the driver side of the vehicle. Ten days later, I had the oil changed at another service location where I was told my CV boot was torn. I advised them about my service appointment at Canadian Tire to have the tire rod and bearing replaced but couldn't remember which side was done. The service technician told me it is the driver side as this tire rod looked new - on the same side as the torn CV boot. The service technician took pictures of this torn boot upon my request and told me that the only way the CV boot could be destroyed like this is during improper installation of the tire rod.

Once I arrived home, I checked my invoice from Canadian Tire only to find out that the invoice had been incorrectly filled out - documenting the replacement of the tire rod on the passenger side of the vehicle. Was this done to protect themselves? The invoice is printed off after the service appointment - therefore, altering the invoice in their favour? I confronted the service manager at the Canadian Tire Automotive department to have this torn CV boot inspected. My vehicle was inspected, and I was told that this CV boot is no longer sold and will have to replace the complete rack & pinion unit instead. I was also informed that the reason the CV boot got destroyed is that the fluid inside the rack & pinion unit has been eating away on this CV boot. Though there has not been any fluid leakage from this or any location - also verified by another mechanic (not at Canadian Tire).

Why am I not being told the truth? I don't see why I must replace the rack & pinion unit if they damaged the CV boot? If that CV boot was damaged before my vehicle was serviced at Canadian Tire, the service technician would have informed me of the CV boot replacement needed.

I have received opinions from other mechanics, and they all agree on the following:

no leaks at rack & pinion

no new rack & pinion unit required

CV boot was destroyed during improper installation of tire rod

CV boot - a universal one - can be found online

I hope this issue can be resolved quickly (at another Canadian Tire location)

Many thanks,

Yvonne
