Corrosion free complete and the person who applied it
Canadian tire truro, ns
Corrosion free complete vehicle dec 12, 2021. Received reminder in mail june 2023 that needed to be done again. Chevrolet malibu 2013 lt. 140,000. Km to date. Use the same winter tires that I purchased at walmart 6 yrs ago because they are like brand new. I am retired and do not drive my car much in winter.
My car started paint bubbling on both rear panels above wheels and in seam. Rusting bad to the point that on one side a piece of metal needs cutting out and replaced. Went to rust check this time and the guy said canadian tire did not do a good job at all.
Desired outcome: At a cost of 2200. the rust will be corrected at a body shop. 8 feel Canadian tire should pay for this because they did not apply the product properly in order to protect my car .
Honeywell Portable A/C Unit
I am so mad I could spit. But it's so hot, I can't afford to give up any moisture for fear of dehydration.
When we moved to our apartment 2 years ago, we knew we would need a couple of portable a/c units. We wanted the ones that stand on the floor, not the window units. One for the bedroom and the other for the living area. We bought the small one for the bedroom as soon as we moved in. We knew we were going to Newfoundland for most of the summer so we waited to buy the larger one. If anyone can remember, there were a lot of supply chain issues in the second half of 2021 and early 2022. In March of 2022, I saw that Canadian Tire had a 15,000 BTU (Honeywell) a/c unit in stock. We jumped on it because we weren't sure what the supply chain would be like once the hot weather started. This unit was purchased at Canadian Tire on Chemong Road in Peterborough.
We stored the unit in a closet until the middle of June 2022. At that time we installed it. We ran it when we were not at the trailer and the temperature warranted it until September sometime. It cooled the area wonderfully!
Then, it spent the winter back in the closet until today. We're home from the trailer for the weekend so we installed it right away. Turned it on, no cool air. Just room temperature air. We let it run for 30 minutes just to be sure. The compressor was not cutting in.
Now, I start with the phone calls. I called Canadian Tire. No help, one year warranty, warranty ran out in March, a year after I purchased it. I explained why we purchased it in March, how it was not hooked up until June and only ran minimally because we were at the trailer all summer. They suggested I call Honeywell. So, I did. No help, they told me to call Canadian Tire. Ok, let’s see if we can get it repaired. Called every a/c repair place in Peterborough. No help, they only service Central Air systems. So I called appliance repair places. No help. No one in this area will repair it. I called both Honeywell and Canadian Tire back to see if they could recommend an authorized Honeywell repair depot. Nope. There isn't one. I searched online, same result.
So, another item to add to the landfill. Neither company stood by their product. An $800 unit, used minimally for about 4 months is a piece of garbage.
Returns Policy
this particular store in Ajax is run by low life's! I was returning an item I had purchased a few days earlier receipt in hand (purchased from the Pickering store) I had been shopping at both stores for the past 15 years and often returned stuff to either store no problem!. When I went to return this one item she tells me Oh you opened the package too bad...

I went to order a belt for my son's jeep, on sunday may 21/24 long weekend nothing open on the 22nd an gave the guy the number of belt,3 times he brought it out I stood there looked at it, had wrong number on it an asked him again you sure this is right, his reply yes.
Come back tuesday to bring back belt due to it being wrong, not in stock.
Young guy gives me part number an looks up at another store an they had it in stock. My issue is a 45 minute drive 4 times to get a right part is just not right and daughter in-inlaw lost a day of wages due to this issue.
Thanks for nothing.
Desired outcome: Employee's should be taught to listen to customer an recheck product number before customer leaves .
Convoy rallies
I just learned of the so called hate rally planned for this weekend at your locations in Niagara Falls and Cornwall.
This is a dangerous precedent for your company to engage in. The fact that you did NOTHING to stop last week’s embarrassment says everything about what your company stands for,
Consumers react to this with their pocketbook. I for one, along with many others do not support this and if you want to continue to retain customers, shutting this down instead of a weak “ we do not support this” would go a long way.
A once loyal customer,

Desired outcome: Shut down this and further action by the Freedum convoys!
Complaint regarding racist incident at canadian tire in gatineau (quebec)
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you to report a disturbing incident that occurred at your Canadian Tire store located at des Grives, 213 Boul des Grives, Gatineau, Quebec J9A 0C7. On April 24, 2023, my husband and I visited your store to purchase a tomato seed. While we were looking for it, I approached one of your associates named Natalie for assistance.
To my surprise, Natalie said that she didn't know where the tomato seeds were located. After that, she immediately asked my husband to open his backpack for checking without any reasonable cause. We were taken aback by her actions, and I want to express how deeply disturbed and disappointed we are by this experience.
As an international Ph. D. student in Law and a resident of Canada, I have never experienced such blatant and unwarranted racial profiling in a store. We were calm and polite throughout our visit, and we didn't show any behavior that would warrant suspicion. I firmly believe that this incident happened solely because of our race and ethnicity.
When I requested to speak with Natalie's supervisor, Louise, she arrived at the scene, and I explained the situation to her. However, I must stress that I'm still deeply upset by this incident, and I feel that it's essential to report it to the management to ensure that it doesn't happen to other customers in the future.
I want to remind you that everyone has the right to be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or any other personal characteristics. I hope that you'll take this matter seriously and take appropriate action against such incidents that are unacceptable and discriminatory.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Sincerely,
Again Racism behaviour in your Canadian tire Branch
388 Connell St, Woodstock, NB
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to bring to your attention a deeply concerning incident that occurred during my visit to your Canadian store in Woodstock, New Brunswick, on July 20, 2023. My purpose in writing this letter is to lodge a formal complaint about the racist behavior displayed by one of your staff members.
On the mentioned date, I visited your store to refill five big bottles and also purchased two new bottles with refills. I paid for all the items, including the seven refills and two new bottles. However, during my visit, I noticed a disturbing incident involving your manager, Cynthia.
While I was in the store with my subordinate, I observed Cynthia recommending that one of your staff members keep a close watch on us. This action gave us the impression that we were being singled out and subjected to unfair scrutiny based on our race or ethnicity. Such discriminatory behavior is entirely unacceptable and goes against the principles of equality and respect that any reputable establishment should uphold.
As a loyal customer, I am deeply disappointed and disturbed by the treatment we experienced during our visit to your store. It is disheartening to witness such prejudiced conduct in this day and age, and it tarnishes the reputation of your establishment.
I kindly request that you conduct a thorough investigation into this matter and take appropriate action against the staff involved. I believe that implementing diversity training and promoting a culture of inclusivity within your team will help prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
I hope that you will take this complaint seriously and work towards ensuring a welcoming and non-discriminatory environment for all your customers. I expect to hear back from you regarding the steps you plan to take to address this issue and to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Fixing Throttle body& sputtering
I left my Vehicle on April 11/23 @Canadian tire @5970Mavis Road,Mississauga .Diagnosed & told me they ordered for parts. Then vehicle was sitting in the parking lot for 8 days. Every day I went there and I was told that part(Throttle body assembly) was not arriving. Finally I got frustrated and disappointed and took my vehicle to another mechanic and fixed same day.Canadian tire charged$282.50 for doing nothing for 8 days. It’s unbelievable & unacceptable that waiting for 8 days. Never Ever again to Canadian tire.
Friends before if you go there think 100 Times. They sucks customers like me visible minorities, I guess.
Customer rep manizha at lawrence square
I went to do a simple return today, April 17. Around 1pm. Service rep named Manizha
1-order number [protected]
She repeatedly questioned why the boots did not have a tag.. That is the way I received them. They were obviously never worn, just tried on in home and wrong size
more upsetting
2- order number [protected]
She insisted that the shoes were worn and that I untied the tag and retied them because the soles were dirty. That is the way I received them. (not the first time an online order came in poor condition). I returned them because my son did not like the way they looked - he never even tried them on, so no way he could dirty them. I waited and waited while she argued that the store does not sell shoes in that condition, no shoes on the shelf ever look like that, and no shoes would have been sent like that. Finally she called a manager who brought down the remaining pairs from the store shelf. All with dirty soles!
Very upsetting and humiliating to be accused of lying by a costumer rep. She didn't even apologize! The manager says they are just trying to help. How? By accusing me of lying? I've been a good customer for over 40 years. Never encountered such abusive customer service.
Desired outcome: i would like a response , some sort of compensation. my email is [protected]@gmail.com
Change tire service
I have a alloy rim tire and I have a winter tire that don't have rim. So I purchased a steel rim for my winter tire, in the Canadian tire and do the change tire in that location. Canadian tire associate store 0010. Kote holdings ltd. I just noticed that they change my wheel lock key. So I called the customer service and tell them about my situation , but they just transfer me and I waited for so long in auto department and they just hang up on me. And when I call back no more answering. My original wheel lock key they change to the rusty wheel lock key. I am very disappointed.
Desired outcome: I hope the company will tell their mechanic that be honest and do not take or exchange the original property of the car. I trusted my car in your mechanic hands, I hope they will not take the original property of the car.

Tire roll changeover
I have never dealt with such a bad customer service before with a tire change. I got to my schedule appointment at 1:45 PM for a 2 PM appointment. It has been two hours after and I inquired about when my car was going to be finished as I had to go pick up my child from school. They said that they just brought in the car now and it will take another hour. What’s the point of a scheduled appointment. When I speak to the manager, John O’Rourke, he was not helpful and quite frankly I’m never changing my tires here again. John should be ashamed of himself. He shouldn’t even be a manager. He just sits there at his desk staring at the wall.
And God for bid you contact Canadian tire head office they give you the runaround to speak about this customer service debate
Desired outcome: Fire the manager or give me my money back
Store manager harrasment
Last week I brought my car for the installation of DRL. They took the whole day and also charged me 326 but never done their work. I was asked to bring the car back today. Today on 4/8/2023, when I brought my car, I was told that I need to bring the car some other day as they are busy. I asked them that I don’t want to go back and forth and requested for my refund so I can go to any other Canadian tire location for the job. The store manager was called and in front of everyone he started yelling at me and threatened me that he will fail my car for RIV inspection if I go to any other location and also he was unwilling to do the job today or issue me any refund. At that point I felt unsafe and extreme humiliation in front of other customers. This incident happened in front of my 7 yrs. old daughter and many other customers and the CCTV cameras which should have recorded this incident. I ended up calling 911 for my safety. This is not only a nightmare for me as a female but also an example of extreme unprofessionalism specially if it is coming from the store manager. Please contact me ([protected]@hotmail.com) if you have any questions.
Desired outcome: Need refund for the job which was not done. Also strict action to be taken against the manager to avoid this incident happens to any customer in future and share the outcome with me. Thanks

Faulty axe
I attempted to return a wood handled Yardworks axe. The handle snapped. I did not have the receipt as my son in law built it for me. Yardworks if the Canadian tire brand so it is definitely theirs. The label is still on it and you will see in pics that it has barely been used and it has a 4 year warrantee. I have had it for 10 months. I have an axe which was my grandfather and has still not broken.
An axe is a very dangerous tool and I could have been maimed or killed. This is not the first problem I have had with this location. But this really takes the cake. Home Depot would not have hesitated to fix this problem. My primary heat is wood, I am living on government pension and I’m 70. I need an axe and if you can’t help me I am going to have to buy another one, which I definitely should not have to do.
Desired outcome: I want a response. I want a replacement of better quality as I do not trust getting the same again. And I really would like an apology.
Security guard at self serve
Hello at Canadian Tire around 20:10:23 today i was at self check scanned items and paid $78:30 security guy at self serve and watching me pay, and i stepped away from the machine the security guard (he) stopped me immediately and checked my bags and all items. I showed him my receipt he still touched all my items one by one and searched my items several times. When i pay for items this means The items are my properties and no one has a right to search my bags or touch any of my belonging. I was treated as a thief and humiliated at the store. Canadian tires take my money and treat me as a thief! I am filling a lawsuit against Canadian tirefor what happened to me today. I contacted store spoke to someone at the store and sent my complaint! Vancouver, bc @ Cambie street. My email: [protected]@gmail.com
Damage by towing and unauthorized towing to unknown location
My truck was towed by their service provider Kingsway towing Group, and they pulled the 4×4 vehicle with a Dolly. The Dolly was blown on the Anthony Henday Hwy, and severe damage to the car. The tow company operator told me they would fix my truck, so I did not take their insurance. The vehicle was towed to the auto shop for the previously identified issue to be fixed. My transmission and transfer case were damaged due to the blown Dolly because it was in the Park mode with a 4×4 option. They did not willingly pay for the repair but only paid the regular inspection charge of $150. I demanded a thorough inspection of the vehicle by inspecting the internal part because the vehicle was in the accident when the temperature was at -32 degrees. That freezing temperature, with the high impact of a vehicle hitting on the highway at 100km speed, severely damages the body and internal parts, especially the transmission and transfer case. But they rejected my request. I noticed three warning symbols related to transmission and transfer case 4x4. I could drive the vehicle at more than 80 km speed due to transmission issues. Also, the 4x4 malfunctioned.
I drove this vehicle to Fort McMurray from Edmonton. The truck was a breakdown on the Hwy when the gear was automatically shifting, and the truck slipped from Highway and rolled over into the ditch. I called emergency services, and they rescued me from there. Then, after all the police and insurance investigation, I called the Canadian Tire Roadside Assitance to tow the vehicle and needed to go wherever I chose after I assessed the vehicle's condition. But their service provider took the truck from the accident area to their yard without my instruction. Then I contacted Canadian Tire to deliver that vehicle to the destination I wanted to, Edmonton. Still, they could not provide service on the same day but offered service after two days. That was unacceptable because I would not be in Edmonton due to my work at Fort McMurry. My vehicle is still with their service provider.
Canadian Tire Roadside was not compensated even though they made the issue.
Desired outcome: Proper Compensation for property loss
Auto service department.

Read full review of Canadian Tireoil Change
Dropped off my 2010 Toyota Corolla. for an oil change on Jan. 5, 2023 T Canadian Tire, Selkirk, very slow, took an hour. But no wonder it took that long as I observed the staff chasing others around my car swatting each other with towels. Next day, I checked the level of oil and to my shock it was an 1.5 inches above add. Took it back the following day and yes it was 1.3 L overfilled, that could have really screwed up my motor. I wonder how many others they grossly overfilled on their oil changes! Is this where I'd want to take my car for something more serious? I had asked for management to contact me to discuss, even sent an email to head office that they forwarded to the Selkirk store. 3 weeks later still no response, so I thought if they didn't want to listen to me perhaps others would. I will never go back to the Selkirk store & I will tell as many others as I can about my experience. One very disappointed p..sed off customer.
