your policies regarding terminating a membership
I received a charge of $150 on my American Express today. It is for a membership my granddaughter enrolled in when she lived in Ohio a couple of years ago. It was supposed to be cancelled so when I went to cancel it, her name and email address and physical address could not be linked. And my husband's AE card was used for which he has no knowledge of Care.Com. I have no clue where you got that. Where and how did you get it? After a 45 minute conversation with one of your agents who after linking one email address and one physical address to my granddaughter, I was told that she needed another email address. Why? You must have a date of birth. A social security number? I asked how I could get charged if Courtney's account didn't show up and when I paid, who would the payment go to if her account wasn't showing up. I then asked to speak to someone who had a little more knowledge. Now I was told that two (2) Courtney Watkins showed up. What? I was falling for a lot of what your Agent said until then. Oops! Two Courtney Watkins are not going to have the same DOB and open membership from Ohio. I want this membership cancelled. I have no intention of paying this charge. I am having a block put on Care.com and I intend to take it a step further by writing a letter to the BetterBusinessBureau and also complaining about the way my phone call was handled. Please do not send me any more charges. It will be a waste of your time and mine.
care.com
I applied for a job late Friday evening for the following night. I simply asked where did they live? The next morning I got a reply about 7 am I was at work so I replied back at 10am. They then stated please don't take this personally but I already sent a bad review about you because I THOUGHT you weren't going to reply back. I didn't except a job nor back out on any job, I just didn't reply back to her as fast as she would have liked. I told her I was confused as to why she would do such a thing. He explained she has had bad experiences when it comes to people ghosting her. I apologized for her experiences but that had nothing to do with me. I had told her I messaged her about a few of her other job posts and didn't get a reply. She said she was the employer and was arrogant to think she should have to reply to me! Next day, my account is terminated. I did nothing wrong and she does not know me. I have excellent reviews and work with several families from care.com. And I was in the top 5% for my location. To be terminated from someone's false accusations who does not know you and care.com not having any proof other than just a comment from someone is just wrong! It is my word against there's but I can send care.com our conversation to show all the proof needed tht I was not in the wrong and my account should not have been terminated. I make a living from babysitting and now I do not have my account. Very wrong!

fake one month package
Care.com is a website that allows you to search for care, however, in order to be able to message people you need to buy a package. What was looking like a one time package of 45 pounds, it was then automatically converted in a monthly subscription for the same value without being clear of that.
I just noticed that I was charged since March the 26th till now for 45 GBP every month.
The information is not clear at all and this should be considered a scam.
Cancelled the subscription however need to fill in a complaint for the abusive behavior that this website is having.
I just upload an image of what is shown to users while trying to get access to the package I mentioned. The information leads you to think that is a one time off but it not.
Thanks in advance.

service
I have been a paying customer to care.com for about 3 years now. Before summer they terminated my account. And gave NO reason as to why. Previously i was ananny to a family and the family was controlling, the mother was weird and it was MY idea to find another family to work for and they agreed with it. Assuming that could be why, these issues need to he investigated and both sides looked at. Not just terminate one person knowing humans argue and humans fight. They also lie which im sure happened somewhere in that situation too. After seeing i was terminated, i sent out an email asking what happened, they said they didnt have to disclose anything and its in their policy. I understand, but there are plenty other services out there that will tell you what happened or make it known that THEY made an accident. Thats customer service, thats how you treat people. I've done nothing wrong, never abused anyone, anything, have never cussed around the kids, NOTHING. I can no longer use this service that i made MY money with, my means of work, because this family (im assuming) lied on my name. Thins wont always workout, jobs and individuals wont always get along. Unfortunately. I've given over $200 to this company. After all of this was done, i went online and found that plenty other have had this exact problem, and this is absurd. Look into issues before you react.
termination
I had my free account in order to look for work. I had followed all rules and violated none of their listed possible violations. Yet, I attempted to logintoday and at first thought I'd lost my mind and forgot my PW. Went through my emails and saw they had terminated my account via their very generic statement of we terminated because we can for a reason or no reason. They then message all of those you had contact with to let them know you are terminated, which tarnishes your name no matter what because people will assume care.com had a good reason and that I must have done something pretty bad to be terminated...or membership cancelled. Totally frustrated at this point and I really needed to gain some employment.
account terminated for no reason!
I have been using Care.com for YEARS to find employment as a caregiver, babysitter, pet sitter, tutor, etc. I've had plenty of success with wonderful families. Once we confirm, we no longer use Care.com to communicate.
I had been doing the same thing to find additional work for this semester (I'm a student) and out of NO WHERE my account has been terminated, the day before I'm set to meet a new client. I'm furious, of course, because this may mean losing the job! I called their support and spoke with an idiot with a script who is completely unable to give any answers.
From here forward I will be sharing my experience VERY vocally in order to warn other users.
Who knows, maybe I'll make my own version that's not a scam...

termination of services after over a decade
We have had this service for over a decade to help find care for our profoundly artistic son. Out of nowhere they terminated our ability to look for caregivers. This inability to find caregivers affects my sons quality-of-life, our ability to be contributing member to society and was completely unjustified. The only incident we had was one of our caregivers failed to show because it was raining and said she asked to not come in but my husband explained That we were at work far away from the home and not able to get there quick enough. To relieve the other attendant who could not stay. I kindly sent a text explaining sorry for my husband getting upset ( all he said is rain passes, pull over, watch the radar and then proceed with safely to the house ). She declined which left her son without care. She continued to respond in text after I instructed her not to and that she's been blocked in a very negative way. Then she proceeded to call up care.com and make a complaint against us. Care.com terminated services with us for no fault of ours and she should be reported for negligence. We reported Care.com to the BBB, Adl, attorney general and hired a lawyer. All care.com would say is that they don't have to tell us anything and due to theTerms of the agreement and the service can be canceled at any time for no explanation or reason. They cancelled us and let a negligent caregiver continue on their side.
Wrongful Termination
Same situation as every other poster. I've been a caregiver on care.com for over 5 years, 2 advanced degrees, and 15 plus years of experience. I changed my address and the next day I was terminated. All the company does is send a generic email stating they don't have to tell me why they terminated me and it can be for any reason. This is a detriment to my career because care.com is a major caregiving job hub in San Francisco but not only that, they contacted every family I've ever been in contact with and informed them I was terminated. I'm still working with some families! I feel like regardles if that is somewhere in the terms and conditions it is a total violation of my right to privacy. Care.com is a middle between employee and employer. They have no right to intrude on relationships after matches are made and emailing everyone I've been in contact with that my "membership has been closed because this member no longer meets the eligibility criteria for Care.com membership, has violated our Terms of Use, or because we have determined that he or she is not suitable to use our services" is detrimental to my career.
premium membership
Hello.
I was charged $20 for my premium membership. I did not realize this was an automatic payment taken out, I thought it was a one time payment or I would not have signed up. The money was taken out of my account without my knowledge, causing my account to go negative and then the bank charge me an additional $38. I would like to be refunded as the membership is now cancelled and I will no longer be using this website.

terminated account for no reason
I signed up around 4:30 today, posted an ad, then got terminated around 6:30. I don't expect them to tell me why, but I DO expect them to refund my money, which they probably won't and I will have to dispute with the credit card company. And no, there was nothing in the ad that violated their ToS, it was boring and I'd post it here were it not for the fact that I can't access it because my account is terminated.
I get why some services can't be specific about the reason for termination in some cases, but what stops a company from making money by randomly terminating memberships and keeping the fees you paid them? That would be very easy to do and is the very definition of a scam.
Sorry, a clarification: "HOWEVER, I lost the discount I received" - I meant that I had used a promo code when first purchasing a membership/subscription, and when I signed up again (after they told me I wasn't banned), I lost that discount.
Follow up: they actually did notify me to say my money had been refunded, AND told me I could reinstate my account with the same contact information, which was a surprise. They even told me the reason for termination - apparently it was because my profile name wasn't a real name (I set up this account ages ago and had just filled in my initials at the time, and had forgotten to change it when upgrading to a real subscription).
So, outcome was better than expected. HOWEVER, I lost the discount I received. In addition, it would be nice if they just prevented purchasing a subscription in the first place for minor anomalies like where a profile name doesn't match a credit card name, for example. Finally, I had to contact them to find out all this information - like the fact that I could sign up again using the same information. The termination email I got certainly made it sound like I was banned for life.

will not delete my credit card
I have not gotten legitimate replies from Care.com. I tried repeatedly to remove my credit card but they said I had a recurring charge. Not true as I only signed up & paid for 1 month. They got their money but there was no way to remove my card. I called my credit card company & blocked Care.com from any future charges. Every time they said I had a lead or interest in my childcare business, it went nowhere. I did go on their site to reach out to families to do the legwork myself when I realized I had spent money for no return. This seems to be a total waste of time & money as you get your hopes up & then NOTHING happens. I question how they get so many suckers to pay them money because the providers seem to be the losers in this game. I will NEVER subscribe to this business again & the only satisfaction I'd have would be to get a total refund but I suppose that they can use the excuse that my credit card is no longer available for any transactions. How about a check in the mail, baby? You for sure have my location. Kathy Fraley

deleted account without reason
I've been a nanny on Care for years. I'm 33 & I've been a professional nanny for 5 years. I moved to an area where it's basically the only source to advertise nanny positions, so imagine my devastation when today I received an email stating "Your Care.com account has been closed. Please feel free to save this email as a confirmation for your records." That's it. Their website makes it clear that they can delete your account for any or no reason, but that doesn't make it right! I regret every dollar I spent on this site & now worry it will reflect badly on my reputation.
My email was actually replied to & my account reactivated. The reason it was closed was because I changed my name there, which is against their TOS.
terminated account
Same thing happened to me. I was a member for many years. Nothing in my life changed (arrests, email, phone number, anything!) And out of no where, they terminated my account. I called several times. All they say is "they're not obligated to give a reason". Its embarrassing because an email gets sent to every person whom you were ever in contact with on care. Makes me look bad as if the reason was something severe. And you can Never join again. It's completely ridiculous! They should atleast give a reason, provide more information or do an investigation. I'm a great nanny and they basically dragged my name and future through the mud, for nothing! Horrible company.
removed for no reason after over 9 years
Removed from their services after over 9 years of having a profile. And they won't disclose why. Other than they don't have to give any reasoning why. I paid my dues. I have worked for many clients off of care.com that can vouch that I'm a great worker. And I have been kind and caring to their loved ones. Yet you hear on the news about certain individuals that had a history of abuse of some sort. And not until they commit a crime and actually hurt someone. And are exploited on national television. Then they remove that person. I have kept a back ground check on myself. Both on myself and driving record. I am state certified. And if I was a criminal or commited a abuse my license would be suspended. And yet when you call the nurses registry my license is active.
billing
I cancelled my membership and the company was still charging me for over 1 year. I thought it was another company charging me until one day I started investigating the company as it appears on my bank statement.
I called and spoke to a person by the name of Mark, he stated that they would cancel my service and reimburse me for charges made in the past 30 days only. I have been charged since February 2018 - June 2019 and all I get back is 1 month. I will be contacting an attorney as this is robbery.

unethical behaviour
I am not looking for any type of reimbursement and there is not way for this to be resolved but I do want to bring some kind of light to this situation so it does not happen again. I hired a sitter/nanny from this site around May 7th. She met with our family even though she tried cancelling but I had explained that if we did not meet that day that she wouldn't be able to sit for us since we needed her the following day if my spouse and I liked her. So she met everyone and we all hit it off my older son who is 4 liked her and warmed up to her. She sat for us maybe three times overall, she started not answering txts or cancelling and even said she would give us a free night to watch the kids. She also left a job early due to a boyfriend issue so there were red flags all over. So she was supposed to watch our younger son who is one on a Thursday night while I went to my bowling league and my spouse was going to be meeting me. She was at the house earlier when my son as not there yet and she looked different eyes looked red but I didn't think much of it. She went out and sat by our pool with her legs dangling in the hot tub holding our son. A day later I find out that she and my spouse had gone out drinking and she is now working for him doing some marketing for his business. She had four drinks while she was out with him and was supposed to watch our son. She had gone out by the pool with him and after finding this out the only thing I could think of is god forbid she dropped him in the pool or slipped or fell and how unacceptable and irresponsible of her. I know he should not have taken her out to drink but she should have said no and not crossed that line. Now we are in June and I chose to move out of the house due to our own issues. We hired Marci Prester in hopes to reconcile but he cannot be trusted clearly and she is now living in the house we shared. She told us she would have a car and was apartment shopping. She still has no car and is living rent free with my children's father and I guess he would be her employer. I feel that this is not healthy for my children to see someone that would babysit them living in the house and being romantic with their father. When I found Marci I ended my membership because I felt I found the right person but I couldn't be more wrong. I feel that she is acting unethically and as soon as something like this was starting to develop she could have just stopped coming around or at least not watch my youngest child the night she was drinking. I told him that I did not want her around the kids since it seems like all they do is drink together and this is not the environment I want for my children. I hope that if things do not work out for them that she does this to another family.

terminated account
I have been a member of care.com for a few years then out of no where my account was terminated. It is not okay to terminate someones account without giving them a legitimate reason why. Its embarrassing that an email goes out to everyone you have been in contact with on the site. People you have worked for! As a wonderful nanny of over 10 years, with fantastic reviews, my name was dragged through the mud for no reason. The "possible termination reasons" that go out to everyone is despicable! "Sex offender, child abuse" etc. The ONLY thing I could think of, is that you can't be a member of their competitors sites (in fine print!) And I was on Sittercity. Being terminated and never allowed to return is beyond ridiculous! Especially for a sorry reason like that. Something needs to be done about this. I've made many calls and emails to the company and got no where.

terminating an account based off of a complaint from someone who doesn't like me, in which they did no further investigation
I have been with care.com for about 4 years, I have given them over $150 for my memberships in those years as well. I recently was a nanny to a family and it didnt workout. The family complained to care.com and they removed me from their website right away. No questions asked from me on what happened or if I was the actual suspect or the victim. It is not ok for a company to just keep sending "well, we dont have to disclose anything with you, its final and will not he reversed". Your job as a company is to listen to customers especially laying customers of 4 years. This is crazy. So all these years I could have complained when I didnt get along with a family and their account would simply be terminated? Not ok. This is a way of income. All because a family doesnt like me anymore and lied on my name? I have recommended over 20 people to this website and this is how im treated? Will never recommend again and will have those that I did recommend use sitter.com or sittercity.com. I also havent received my money back either. After paying nearly $55. Do not use this company. Also they apparently dont need any reason to remove you... How awesome for an employee who spots your name but doesnt like you to just remove you because they can. Sounds scam full.
@care.com i messaged you on Facebook in which i was told me account would be reviewed in which they said the same thing. “We do not need a reason to close an account”. Same thing i was emailed from you guys. Horrible company that does NOTHING to try and fix issues with PAYING customers. I am a real person, i’ve never abused anyone, i do my job. There was no reason to terminate me. A previous family lied on my name because they no longer like me. So its totally normal and should be expected to have our accounts cancelled when jobs dont workout? Seems to be the norm. I’ll be sure to post around and tell others NOT to risk it. Stuff happens and jobs can have disagreements but for your company to take sides and remove someone with NO INVESTIGATION is disgusting.
3 month auto renewal debacle
So I got suckered into signing up for 3 months service with inclusive background checks for around $135.
I cancelled on the day it was due to renew and also notified my bank not to release payment, which was showing as pending.
Despite taking this action, i find "IdontCare.com" have taken the money and still downgraded my account!
This was 2 months ago and despite sending around 15 emails requesting a refund, im still getting no where fast. Most infuriating is that they keep sending the same generic response that I need to take it up with my bank. No, you took my money for a service you aren't providing and are not taking responsibility for refunding.
I've also tried calling but when the correct option s are selected the line cuts off - sketchy.
No one is taking ownership, despite emailed promises that management would be back in touch. I actually waited 2 weeks and no manger could be bothered to get back to me.
There's some bad companies out there from a customer service perspective, but idontCare.com may well be the worst.
I wish I'd seen the reviews on sitejabber.com before ever using this company.

thieves
I cancelled my account within one month of signing up. I am POSITIVE I cancelled. Just discovered they've been billing me for 2 years. I never received notices they were billing me. I have now asked to see the records that show I signed up for automatic billing (an unethical business practice) and that they attempted to notify me every month they billed me. They refuse to send me any documents and now refuse to answer my emails. And, they've refused to send me the corporate address, which, as a US company is a legal obligation. So, not only did they literally steal 1k from me they're breaking corporate law. So, I'm looking for an attorney to file a class action suit against them. There are countless people with similar stories. They are literally stealing money from people.
