Subscription
I went to this website, read the subscription details carefully, which in LARGE FONT states a monthly amount. Before submitting my payment information read again at bottom of page that when I submit I would be charged a monthly amount. After submitting I verified my account online and was charged the yearly amount. A difference of 12/ mo to 140.00 for the yearly amount. I feel sorry for any caregiver that deals with these people. I also noticed that caregivers that were contacting me were calling from 30 - 40 miles away instead of the maximum 10 miles I required. Please do not make the same mistake as I did. Why anyone would need a years subscription for a one time trip out of town for a pet sitter is beyond me. Please do not deal with these people. If you need a pet sitter go to your local shelter. They will have a listing to assist you with reputable people. Interview like you would anyone and for little money you can run a background check to see how reputable they would be.
terminated for no reason
I signed up for care.com to find a babysitter for my 2 month old daughter before I go back to work. I had picked the free option so luckily no money was involved, however, the same day that I signed up I received an email from them stating that they were terminating my service. There was no reason listed just that they reserve the right to terminate...

I moved across the country and hoped that my account would help me find a sitter in my new and unfamiliar city. I changed my address and posted a new ad. The ad appeared in my old city. I received several responses but all from the old city. When I emailed customer service about the problem, I received a snarky email stating that I had not "updated my address correctly" and that I did not have a job posted. When I forwarded a posting of the job, plus all of the replies; the customer service person stated that it takes 48 hours for an address change and that I did not have a job posted. She made no effort to view my account or review the job or the replies. This service is no better than a yahoo group. No one seems to be moderating, no one seems to be able to read and they treated me as if I were a ###.

check fraud
Some girls got online at care.com and applied for baby sitting jobs. Someone, supposedly out of Hutchinson, KS is sending these girls large checks with our routing and account number and an actual employee signature that they copied and having these girls deposit these checks and keep a small portion and send the rest back by Western Union. You would think care.com would look into the people who advertise a little closer. Don't fall for it girls! If it sounds too good to be true...then it probably isn't true!

Hmm... contact your bank and let them know what's going on. You can report your checks stolen and close that account and open a new one, The Bank will give you a new account and routing number.
horrible company don't use
I signed up and after a few days I couldn't get into my account anymore. I was very confused and called. Once I got through to a customer representative, he put me on hold for 15 minutes only to come back saying that I did not abide to their terms of agreement and it was a private matter, thus he could not tell me why.
I had just had a baby, need a nanny was told this was a great website to find one. I couldn't understand why they would cancel me, so I read their terms of agreement. I did not break any of their 'rules' listed so why was I cancelled? I spent a lot of time reviewing their 'candidates' and emailing people back and forth to set up interviews. So I decided to call back and ask for a manager. When I did, the same thing happened but THIS TIME she said, well we can cancel you for any reason which sounds like a cop out to me.
After reading the reviews on amazon I think they might have done a background check on me and found incorrect data. I can't imagine how because I work for the federal government and there is no way I could work for them if I did not have a stellar background check.
Also the candidates are exactly what another poster categorized them as. Young students with no experience, out of work mothers, etc. They ALL wanted a lot of money for the job too! The background check was a joke too -- you had to pay $50 for another 'real' one and if its anything like the one they did for the other reviewers, its a joke.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY there are tons more other there that I'm going to try as well as Craigslist. The people that sign up for care.com do it for free and their 'background check' that they share with you costs the caregivers $8. For $8 buck how good of a background check can it be? I got this directly from one of the caregivers I was able to interview before I was rudely cancelled.
They don't care at all.

Ms. Kitty,
I know you posted this last year, but I just found this site and posted my complaints. I think an attorney and a group of consumers should file a class action suit against this company for not providing services as promised and taking our money. If you are interested in pursuing this leave me a message.
I hope you finally found a good nanny -- we are still searching for a housekeeper!

illegal activity and wrong report
I joined in order to find someone to pick up our children after school. I get an email this evening that due to a report they pulled on me they are closing my account and refunding my money. I'm completely baffled and stunned and scared because I've always known my background to be clean. I've never been in trouble with the law, not even as a teenager. Well, they sent me a copy and the only thing the person in the report had in common with me was the first and last name. That's it. She had felonies coming out of her rear, her middle initial was L. Mine is I. She's 5'5. I'm 5'3. She's 150. I've never been 150...and so forth...Now I have to go through the trouble of contacting the company they got this report from and verify who I am and then the company that ran the report has to report back to them when they've verified who I am so that Care.com can reinstate my account. Well, they can keep their crappy account - good riddance. Stay away from them..if they could mess up my report..what if they messed up and got a good report on someone with a bad background? Scary!

I agree with this poster.
Care.com is HORRIBLE do not use them.
they cancelled me for no reason and their candidates are also horrible. read the amazon reviews here: http://www.amazon.com/Care-com-Inc/product-reviews/B002IR8ZF0/ref=cm_cr_pr_hist_1?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addOneStar
we are not the only ones that care.com doesn't 'care' for.
fraudulent website
This site charges you an arm and a leg for outdated information. I joined and found tons of listings for sitters in my area. I contacted about thirty women and found disconnected numbers. I left messages at the few good numbers I called and not one single woman returned my call after I left a voice mail. The women who actually answered their phones gave me a lot of "Oops, I forgot to take myself off that site." Not one single woman returned my e-mails that I sent through the site. There is no quality control on this site. The info is old and useless and it is very expensive to join ($29.95/mo). Also, it was a pain to cancel my membership. They don't make it easy. Save yourself money. Don't join this site. It is a scam and a waste of time. One is better off putting an ad in the paper or using a nanny service.
Hi, my name is Tricia and I work in the Member Care Department at Care.com. We're sorry you didn't have a great experience using our site and we're here to help you if you need any advice on how to find care. We find that posting a job to advertise the offered position is often times the easiest way to start. Each job on average sees 15 applicants and this way, you also know the applicants you are replying to are already aware of the time commitment and job responsibilities. After you find care, downgrading or closing your Care.com subscription can also be done right through your account. If you need additional help, however, our member care team promises to respond to inquiries within 24 hours of receiving them at careteam[at]care.com or you can also call our toll free number at [protected], Monday through Friday from 10am-6pm ET to talk to a member care representative live.
I had a very different experience with care.com. Most of the profiles I looked at didn't have phone numbers but when I sent e-mails, I got responses within a few days. I ended up getting a sitter and a backup sitter in about 2 weeks. I ended up keeping my membership after to find a pet sitter for my new dog.
unauthorized charges
I signed up for ONE month. One month for $30 and they automatically renewed my membership each month for $30. I had no idea this was happening because of course I did not get an email, thanking me for my continued unauthorized membership payment and a receipt for being screwed. I rang and asked for a refund and I was refused. What happened was I kept getting email from people who wanted to look after my cat but we had already chosen a sitter so the emails were just thanks but no thanks we found one already. I had no idea these were part of the premium membership since I had no idea I was STILL PAYING! So he said, since I used the email, I will not get any money back! I've filled a BBB complaint. This is trickery and such a shoddy business should never be trusted!

BNMV-
My name is Mike, I work at Care.com. I am going to reach out to you to see if we can resolve your issue.
Our premium subscription membership does renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle, which is stated as you choose the premium-level membership. Your premium subscription membership can be downgraded at any time on your Care.com “My Profile & Settings” page or by contacting our Member Care team. The premium-level membership offers full access to our service, which includes the ability to send messages to caregivers, along with caregiver contact details, standard background checks, references, and the backup benefit, Care-on-Call.
We are glad you found a cat-sitter and we hope we can be a service for you again in the future.

illegal activity: background checks
Good Day,
I was a prospective employee through this site for a Nanny, Caregiver, Housekeeper, and Pet Sitter positions. After a period of no activity of all my numerous applications to jobs I received a form email that I was being suspended from the site. The email stated the reason being they did a background check and found information. Mind you this information was a court case where I was never served, arrested, charged, or even requested to appear in court. The court records and their background screening service Axciom report the case was dissolved and that I was never charged with anything and again never even served or arrested!
After a long time of internet research to find an actual phone number for Care.com (unbelievable!) I spoke with their customer service rep who told me they suspend any ones account with any information on background history no matter what the circumstances are and that is their policy. This policy was also stated in their "canned" email. I could not speak with anyone else regarding this issue and had tried to reach management to further discuss this with them. Additionally management did not call me back nor respond to the email I sent them.
This is a violation of the Employment Commission; per their Title VII (paraphrasing) no company can make blanket discrimination in regards to a background check. Even though they are a caregiver site they must prove why they disqualified someone for potential employment, upon their review of the background check! They do not even take the time to even look over these reports, only just to disqualify either a potential employee or employer from their site, though this is breaking the law. Really sad for the paying customer!
In these tough economic situations so many people have had to apply to any type of job just to help feed their family. My desire is to see every person get a fair shake to find any job, especially in these times. You would think Care.Com would CARE about this devastating national unemployment and its effects on the families.
I am very interested in anyone who has experienced this same issue with them and I would ask that you please join my group.
FYI the phone number for Care.Com is [protected] :-)
Regards,
AJ
Mike,
Your designation that you are not an employer is in Serious question, as you are pulling credit reports under Federal guidelines of permissible purpose for employment, and not a "Connection Service"! Sounds like a big Federal legal permissible purpose violation to me! and it seems that your companies business definition is a “Kay –sir-rah” manner!
I did contact your customer service and Acxiom originally. My complaint was addressed in an inappropriate business manner with your customer service department, which was a great waste of my time. I got the ridiculous response that any notation on a national background check, whether negative or not, Care.com immediately removes them from the site. No questions asked …….final answer. (OMG!)
I had stated to your department that Axciom’s report revealed I have NO criminal record, have Not been arrested, Not charged or even Served in this case. Axciom DID report this correctly and gave this same information to Care.com. It was simply a case opened and closed by both the courts and the plaintiff. Yet Care.com just eliminates anyone instantly without regard to a valid reason. You have a mandate to investigate this, by EEOC regulations and your site states your “Mom force” also takes this responsibility. They would Not return my call nor would customer service let me even speak with them.
I am not debating you’re compliancy of Care.com with regards to the background check. Yet I am appalled that Care.com is making blanket decisions and company policies to discriminate against anyone who like me only has a public record that is in no way negative! You have totally misunderstood my complaint and not addressed this issue. I doubt seriously if you or anyone at Care.com would find it acceptable if a company handled yourselves in this manner.
This is WRONG, discriminatory, and incompetent business practices to treat anyone as such, especially with our countries horrendous unemployment rate and economic demise. It is pure laziness and unprofessional not to address these issues properly and call it company policy! This is the nature of my complaint that you have not addressed!
In the normal company customer satisfaction is of number one concern and policies are dictated regarding this standard.
As far as your company and or customer service phone number it is NOT listed on your site………again (hint, hint).
The many complaints on this Complaint Board consistently reveal your unethical company policies.
Regards,
Ajay
Hi AJay I experienced the exact same issue! Until a month ago I have been working on Care.com for over 6 years. Had 5 stars and impeccable references! Out the blue the terminated me; without indicating what’s in my report that warranted termination! All my clients are appalled and will not use this service EVER!
This company needs to be SHUT DOWN!
Just wait until you're a family looking for care and you have a wonderful benefit through an employer to pay for backup care should you ever not be able to find someone. And then they run a background check on the family looking for care even though their terms and conditions explicitly State they do not do that. It's funny, I'm cleared through every single national, state, and countywide database because I've never been charged with anything nor convicted. I am currently speaking with an attorney. There has to be a class action suit status available for this. They are about to cost me my dream job.
I worked with 6 clients from care.com over a span of 11 years . Then one day I lost my dear client of 5 years , ( they found me on care.com ) i went to go back on to get a new client and , i was told SUDDENLY i was not ever able to use this site again 2/2 background check ? I did not break any law I’m not “ in trouble with any laws” again THEY PLACED ME IN 7 different homes over 11 years and EVERY ONE OF THE CLIENTS LOVED ME! Suddenly because of a “ background check “ i can’t use them . THATS FALSE! If I had anything on my background why would they place me with so many clients to do not only overnights but live in care. ? I now have no way to find work at all . Can someone please help me I’m 56 i just lost my client of 3 years I need help . I will not make it without a job . Please please someone explain how care.com can do this ?
Hi, I too have had issues with Care.com. I need the phone number to call them. I was permanently suspended via email by Care.com and the only thing on my background check as a conviction is a speeding ticket! I am a pregnant mom so my options are limited for work. I desperately need to find a nanny job and feel that Care.com has unfairly terminated my account and left me no recourse. I would be interested in a lawsuit at this point. Please contact me if you are moving forward and I will as well.
I too was a sitter on Care.com for a few years.. I loved this site! I had babysat for many lovely families! I counted on my babysitting jobs as extra income as well! One day out of the blue.. I was told that I was suspended from Care.com.. with out any reason what so ever! I constantly called the site and sent emails to Care.com pleading with anyone who would listen that this was unnecessary and unfair action. I deserved an explanation as to why this had been done to me.. but no one seemed to care to explain anything at all to me.. I am still in the dark as to why Care.com treated me so terribly. The humiliation and depression it caused me is inexcusable! So much for Care.com.. no one working for this site seems to care at all! :(
Care.com needs to disclose to it's Illinois members and subscribers that a new law went into effect in Illinois, and it's called The Domestic Workers Bill Of Rights. I encourage anyone hiring a domestic or a domestic worker in Illinoisto be aware of this new law, and it's purpose: to prevent the exploitation of domestic workers, whether they're in a private setting or business setting, regardless of whether there is a contract or not.
Care.com needs to disclose this new law's existence on their web site, otherwise they may be inadvertently faciliting illegal behavior from perspective employers. There are minimum wages and one full day off, as well as other provisions, and enforced by the Illinois Dept. Of Labor. Illinois is one of 7 states to have enacted this law to prevent the exploitation of caregivers by employees.
I PAID OVER $40. I WAS GIVEN THE NAMES OF 2 LADIES. ONE LIVES NEAR ME - NEVER RETURNS MY CALLS . THE OTHER LADY DOES NOT RETUEN MY CALLS. AND THE SECOND ONE CHARGED ME $30 TO TAKE ME TO THE VET WITH MY BEAGLE WHO WAS EUTHANIZED. MY BEAGLE WAS VERY SICK.
i would like a refund. never did find a driver.
Had talked to a rep from Care.com--and he said, if you don't need the service after 1 one call and cancel the contract to stop charging your acvcount.
Beware of Care.com. I complained about a fraudulent bill and they canceled my account. I am a disabled veteran. Because of my disabilities, the VA has provided me with a stipend to hire a caregiver. I ran an ad on Caregiver.com. I spent several weeks compiling information in preparation for hiring a caregiver that the VA would approve. Without notice, and without explanation, Caregiver.com canceled my account and abandoned me. When I inquired, I received several nasty e-mails, and was given no information. I have never been treated so badly in my entire life.
I wish I would have seen this before I signed up and took the last of my income doing so. My background check came back clear. My driving record was OK. But because they couldn't find my birthday on file. And tried to tell me my birthday is wrong. Care.com cancelled my subscription I called care.com and was transferred around for some time. Just to be told that I need to call the company they go thru that does the background check .so I call them they tell me to call care.com back have them fix my birthday. And they can run it again. For another 69.00 It's A scam They are funding stupid reasons to take innocent people money
bad practices and service
We were looking for a nanny to help out with our daughter so I signed up with Care.com and ran an ad. At first, things went well. We got some applicants and were in the process of scheduling interviews. Then one day, I went to sign in and couldn't. I sent a message to them and received a generic response stating that my account had been terminated. They had...

Searched the website for caregivers for my business and paid $250 for an ad as they seemed to have many in my area. I only received 1 reply from someone 30 miles away. I contacted the company and they will not refund any money and they can clearly see that I did not receive anything for my money. I placed an ad for $25 on Craigslist and immediately received over 20 replys. Care.com is definately not worth the $250, all businesses please do not waste your money!
Thank you Tricia at Care.com for resolving the situation. I appreciate it!

Ruthless exploitation of housekeepers seeking employment! In looking for a housekeeper, I happened upon Care.com. I was encouraged to register and place an add for FREE! Logged into Care.com to find pet sitters. We live in a high crime area, so we are having trouble finding dog walkers. Went on as a guest and was able to "view" a listing. It pulled listings that were not anywhere near my location. When I re-added my zip code- I get the screen that you have to fill out a profile.
Its "free", so I did- So I logged in, and I find that you STILL cant contact anyone unless you sign up for a paid subscription -
Deceptive- and certainly not free.

Care.com can be useful but BE CAREFUL of recurring charges. I used the site to find someone to take care of my dad during the day, and found a couple good people, but forgot about the billing fees. Ended up paying more than double what I thought I was going to pay.
I signed up for Care.com to find home care while I was recuperating from foot surgery. The caregivers who post ads are not very reliable and back out of things at the last minute. The person whom I thought was going to help never got in touch with me and I ended up getting someone else, who mostly complained about her fibromyalgia and how she could not lift anything, nor could she push a wheelchair, which she never told me about before. I don't think they really do any background checks and I would never use any of these people again. I am cancelling my subscription and what was supposed to be a one-time use ended up being a charge on my card every single month, as others have posted. I do not mind at all paying for quality, but to be charged $35 per month for substandard services is more than anyone can stand. I do not recommend using this website or company, ever. Right now I am on hold with them to speak to someone about cancelling my account, and I have already been on HOLD waiting for someone to talk to me for over 33 minutes, according to the digital timer on the phone!
I was another victim of the automatic renewal scam from Care.com. I signed up for a one month membership and they continued to renew it without my permission. I would never work with them again.
These guys are scam artists. They have a website that you need to provide a credit card to see service providers (perfectly legit :)). Then they sign you up for auto charges without ever asking your permission - even if you never log into their site. Even better - there is no place on the website to cancel your card information or stop them. Try calling them (not available on weekends) and they never answer the phone. Stay away!
I signed up with care.com to promote my pet sitting business. I paid for premium membership service for the month and within a week decided to cancel my membership for a variety of reasons. i was led to believe that upon canceling i would be able to ride out my month subscription until my membership expired, which was to be Dec 18 ( 3 more weeks of service! ) This is what it says for canceling: “If you cancel your subscription, you may use your subscription until the end of your then-current subscription term; your subscription will not be renewed after your then-current term expires.” BUT! when I canceled my entire membership was deleted instead of giving me the rest of the 3 weeks due!
I paid for a month of service but received a week. Deceptive rules, slippery terms! Very frustrating.
Hi Lublen,
We are sorry about the confusion regarding billing on your account. All of our subscriptions are set up to automatically renew as stated on the upgrade page, and in our terms of use. Our service is set up like this because we would not want to interrupt anybody in the middle of their search process, or while they are attempting to communicate with possible candidates. You can edit this setting at any point after upgrading in the Account & Settings page, or by calling or emailing us at any point before the renewal date.
We are glad to hear that you were able to find some good caregivers through our site!
Best Regards,
Care.com Member Care Representative
Hi Elisa,
We're sorry to hear about your experience with Care.com. If you choose to cancel your membership before the end of your subscription, you should continue to have the full access to the site, and we are sorry if this wasn't your experience. We hope you were able to contact our Member Care department to hopefully clarify what happened in your specific case.

Hello, I am a Member care representative from Care.com. I do apologize for any misunderstanding. Our memberships on the site are subscription-based, but they can be canceled at any time. Members are made aware of the automatic renewal on both the payment page and on the confirmation page. You have the opportunity to set a reminder on the confirmation page that sends out an email notification seven days before the account is set to renew. Again I apologize for the misunderstanding, but wish you the best of luck in the future.
false advertising
I set up a profile with Care.com, so that I could look for positions and circulate a profile for care giving. One caveat is that Care.com encourages profile builders to give their social security numbers and a credit card number, to run, (they say) a background check.
Of course, I mentioned this in a phone call to the local police department, and was advised against giving out this information. We all know about identity fraud and phishing these days.
Unfortunately, I met up with an undesirable potential employer, who posted a negative review about me, without proof or documentation of any sort. When I went to Care.com to request that this review be removed, I found that I had been listed as a paying Customer Care Provider (never authorized by me), and that I could not withdraw my information until my account was payed in full at the end of the month.
MInd you, I had signed up with Care.com with the full understanding under its terms, that this site was free, unless one had signed up for payed services.
I would suggest that people who want services or who seek a job, look elsewhere. Care.com seems illegitimate, to say the least.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I recently was informed that my account with care.com was deleted do to a bad background check. I was sent an email in 2013 that I never opened and she could see on her screen that I had never opened it. I wasn't even using them then and had no computer at the time so I had no way of knowing I received an email. I didn't even realize I had an account with them until last week when I tried to sign up for an account, and after half a day of my life was spent posting pictures and information on my account it was deleted. After 3 days of emails to a representative I was told it was do to a bad background. After calling them I was told to try to open a new account under a different email (which i had to set up) and then to pay for a background check and to see if that will work because they didn't think that Sterling could help me. Sterling or Care.com? Sterling was very helpful Care.com not so much. Well I couldn't even get to the paying for a background check before they said no that they couldn't create an account. I never paid for a background check previously so when they ran that check over a year ago they ran it for general information. I have a very common name and live in a big state so chances of them finding a record is very high especially seeing I have had this happen to me before with an apartment complex. I called sterling the background check company and they needed a control number so I called care.com again to get that and they informed me that I will never be able to get an account. What? That's not me. I will gladly pay for a background(even though I shouldn't have to) just to clear my name and show you that you have the wrong person. Nope nothing they can do. This company is ruining peoples reputation running general background checks. If you are going to run a check run an accurate check so that u don't falsely accuse people and keep them from working.
Sittercity is honest to tell the applicant who is a real member, so the time is not wasted to applying for jobs that do not exist because a membership is not paid! Sorry for your misinformation...they have helped me in many jobs!
Folks: Don't bother signing up and wasting your money. This is what they will send you (see below). Go to sittercity.com. Much better website and customer care! This is a copy of an email sent by www.care.com. Be aware folks. Email: Further to my email earlier this morning, I wanted to remind you that we have decided to remove you from the Care.com community. This means that you will be unable to re-enroll on the site in the future.
We appreciate your continued understanding regarding this matter.

I would advise not posting on care.com. I had a woman post a negative review on my account and I sent several emails requesting they remove it. This woman posted a negative comment because I felt the area she lived in was not safe and I refused to accept a job where I felt unsafe ..especially a night shift. So, I had 4 interviews lined up and after she posted that..I haven't had one call back. It's just absolutely insane. Should care.com remove that negative posting, I will remove this one. I am just beside myself. My resume, references and longevity speak for itself.
Sittercity is a scam, Babysitting jobs are false advertising, they lie and say they are matchmakers, but they are not, Parents dont even know you exist if you are not on the first page results. It sucks, save your money, before using them and protect yourself from Identity Theft. Complaints keep coming and coming from my friends. Do not use sittercity.
I work for Care. com. I'm sorry you had a negative experience. I'd be happy to help you resolve the billing issues and any other problems you had. You can email me at smanzo@care.com

I went on this site to find nanny jobs and messaged over two dozen families who were seeking nannies on the site. When I didn't receive ANY responses I thought it might because I hadn't completed a background check (something the site offers for $8). I provided my information (social security number included - huge mistake!). The site however, did not ask for my past addresses or former names- things I thought were needed for a background check. Then 30 seconds later, my 'background check' came back clean. I don't know a lot about the process, but I always thought it took more time than that. Although, I haven't experienced problems related to releasing my social security number to this company yet, I'm fearful as they have shown untrustworhty thus far. Needless to say, even after my 'clean background check' was posted on my profile I never recieved any responses from families.

Oh yea, this site is a scam and nothing more! It tells you to fill out a free profile, then you can apply for jobs. Ok then you WASTE your time to apply when the people seeking you can not get your information unless they have a paid membership! So obviously the staff deletes your contact information so no one can see it unless they pay! What a waste of time! I sent probably 25 application e-mails for nothing! They do not tell you all of this up front. Also it says all of "their" caregivers have background checks, that is a BLATANT LIE! The background check that took 10 minutes and they didn't even have my previous address? It also states it's the fastest growing site for caregivers, again, A LIE! It only gets to the top by people wasting their time logging in everyday to see no one has responded to you! Someone should shut this place down!
Please see my post, and you will understand why you never received any job offers:
Ruthless exploitation of housekeepers seeking employment! In looking for a housekeeper, I happened upon Care.com. I was encouraged to register and place an add for FREE! I registered and placed an add for a housekeeper. I received many responses by the next day, with many well thought out explanations why they would be the best choice. Now the scam kicks in! In order for me to contact these people and offer them the job, I must first secure a paid membership to Care.com, which they claim can be cancelled at any time. Of course, you will see by numerous other complaints, that once you give them your card the billing keeps right on going. So these poor people seeking employment pay this unscrupulous scam house to apply for jobs that are posted and never get to communicate with the prospective employer, because the "FREE" ad was a scam! I placed an ad on CraigsList and had more than 20 responses within 24 hours. Do not be taken in by these scam artists! Use a legitimate service like CraigsList or numerous free bullitin boards to match job opportunities with eager people or businesses seeking work.

misleading information
signed up for subscription- understood the terms of the membership. Interviewed several candidates for a postition I was offering- also requested a background check performed on each candidate. The candidates' checks were clearedf by them- however I performed my own- through public record and learned one applicant was a CONVICTED felon-several times over for larceny. Their background check was false. Do not trust their claim of "background checks offered". it is bogus and misleading.
I brought it to their attention- and they dismissed my concern, and did not remove the applicant from their site. The court documents do not lie.
Always do your own background check- do not rely on someone else.

misleading
Company offers a free listing or a "Featured" Listing..for $50 per month..One would think that paying for a listing would give your entry a prime location and extra attention akin to a sponsored link on Google or Yahoo. Not so much..The featured listing offers nothing more than a small green triangle that has "FEATURED" in it...My listing was 22 spots and 2 pages down (not likely to be viewed by your average surfer)..all of which were "free listing" members. No value here and certainly no benefit. When I complained they kept my money and returned me to free listing status. Still no response from this company. Avoid and save your money.

Care.com has charged me 50 per month every month since I recieved email confirmation that my account was closed in Nov 2021. They are unresponsive to emails and I cannot find a phone number to contact. I want to be reimbursed immediately -this is fraudulent.
We hired a woman to work for my client to relieve me on my days off, and the hired person keeps sending her inverted family member. We have no idea what her real name is. It’s pretty disturbing. I wonder if these women are being trafficked by other women. Seriously! Why doesn’t care.com have a legit phone number to talk to about real issues?
seven attempts and you will not accept my photo, but took my money. please email me and explain why. the last attempt was September 24, 2023.
Why was my elderly mothers credit card charged over 40.00 a month with out any communitcation or billing being sent! I signed up for one month and have been charged since March! It was automatic with out consent and I can see many other people have experienced the same problem!
I am a premium member. My name is Christine Gordo and i dont have any idea why i cannot log in in my account anymore, pls respond to my email at christinegordo@yahoo.com, thank you!
I'm very upset.. I've been sending emails to care.com, more precisely I sent 5 emails about paying for a job I did last Friday and nothing, no response, no solution.
It's ridiculous that I have to keep begging Care.com to transfer the money to my bank account.
Charge os $38.95 appear on my account without authorization or notification and considering worthless BS business they are running, this must be reversed.
ADVISE TO ALL : BE CAREFUL DEALING WITH COMPANIES, JUST ANOTHER SHADY AMERICAN SCAMMER!
February 12, 2023 I was not notified that they would be removing $74.85 from my bank account until they did it. I thought I had changed it to basic and I saw it had been changed to that. But for some reason it was changed back to premium. I did not change it back to that service. As they can see I have not been using their site for a long time.
I paid for a subscription and they cancelled my membership without telling me. I cannot get a hold of anyone. ( Via email or chat) I am requesting a refund because I paid $80! They took me money!
I am trying to get in contact with them . There is no response. I have e-mail confirmation of cancelation. But they are still charging my Credit card
