Bought xbox 1 on Friday 22 November and the console is not working doesn't go online and when trying a disc wants to install and keeps saying updating. Went to the Southadale shop where it was purchased and they not giving good service they want us to sell back at a lower price instead of fixing the problem. Are we being ripped off or what and its only 2 days my son hasnt even played. Purchased 2800 and they want us to sell back at 1300? Customer service from the so called manager was very rude

Because you only bought the Xbox two days ago, it is obvious that you are entitled to claim a refund or a swap since the device is faulty. You should not be given a buyback offer instead. Make everything of record, even your conversations with the store, and if necessary, take the matter to senior management or raise a complaint with consumer protection.
