I have been using CVS since I just moved to North Carolina 10 months ago. There is some very shady things going on at this facility. In the past they have lost my antidepressant Zoloft had to give me another one and so I was left with less refills. My concern is not only is it poor customer service and the employees are very rude and clearly hate their job...

On December 15, 2022, I ordered a refill of Zolpidem Tartrate( CVS pharmacy 4501 Lincolnway East, Mishawaka, Indiana 46544). The automated phone service stated this order would be ready any time after 5:00 p.m. I knew this was incorrect information. So I called on December 15th at 5:30 p.m. to verify the status of my refill. It stated the prescription was being processed. On December 16, 2022, I kept calling the automated CVS phone service from 11:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. and it repeatedly stated that my prescription was being processed. Finally, at 6:00 p.m. the phone service said my prescription was ready. The drive-thru person discovered that CVS had dropped my prescription after the expiration date(12/15/22) and the computer system would not allow her to override the lock even though I placed the order on 12/15/2022. Now I must have insomnia for the next 3 nights!
Desired outcome: Since I have chronic issues with insomnia, I needed to be offered the choice of 3 Zolpidem Tartrates for this weekend. Then my family physician could provide CVS with another 6-month prescription on Monday.
Update on my CVS complaint: I called the CVS complaint department. It took about an hour, but the end result was positive. Today's pharmacist agrees to unlock the computer lock. I was able to purchase a one-time refill. Now I will have a decent night's sleep. Thank goodness!
Hemophilia clotting factor
On December 7th 2022 an order for life saving / life sustaining Clotting factor was placed with CVS Specialty Pharmacy. Due to insurance requirements this medication can only be ordered when the supply is nearly exhausted. It may not be filled early.
CVS Specialty pharmacy failed to properly maintain the prescription and it ran out. CVS specialty pharmacy didn’t inform the patient until the day it was to be delivered.. to further complicate the matter CVS failed to again meet the stated delivery date and again informed the patient 9 days after the original order that they would not be delivering the medication due to a lack of proper quantities. When asked to send what was available for a partial fill , CVS personnel agreed to deliver the medication by Friday 12/16/2022. Again, CVS failed to deliver the incredibly rare and life sustaining medication informing the patient via voice mail that the medication would be shipped on Dec 20th, 2022.
While personnel apologized, it is abhorrent that anything other than providing the medications would be acceptable. No concern at all for the patient health, well being or safety.
This is the most irresponsible and unprofessional behavior I’ve ever encountered from any pharmacy or hospital providing these products. Again, these products are rare and very difficult to obtain from any local pharmacies or hospitals. In fact, it’s impossible to simply go to another provider and get an instant supply of this blood derived medication.
CVS Specialty Pharmacy should have a patient complaint procedure in place as required by most states and accreditation agencies. CVS Specialty has no meaningful means of resolving such issues. The fact that a “manager”actually had the nerve to make the final call to my voice mail to state basically that it’s too bad for the patient because we don’t give a damn.
It can easily take weeks to months to transfer to another service without any guarantee of a start if service date or the reliability or quality of any of these services.
This is negligent at best and quite literally has placed the patients life in Jeopardy without any concern, remorse or even a molecule of effort to perform their required due diligence.
Desired outcome: Any and all employee(s) or service that either knew or should know the consequences of such negligence can result in death should be formally disciplined, fined and removed to prevent any further potential harm to patients.
CVS Paris texas
I’ve tried calling them several times and they don’t answer. I was on hold over 20 minutes each time until I hung up.
Also, the names of the pharmacists are not visible. There is one pharmacist in particular who is rude to me but when my pretty wife needs help he’s all over helping her. He spends a lot of time flirting. So when I know he’s on duty I have to send her to get anything. I’ve gone and he gets angry if I offer to stay and wait for my medication so he tells me to come back. When I come back at the requested time he snaps at me not realizing it’s been the 1- 2 hours he requested. If it’s my wife he gets it right away.
Desired outcome: Answer the phone
extra bucks reward
Returned an item & was issued a $9.00 extra bucks reward sent to my Extra Rewards card. The code on the paper coupon([protected]) expire today 12/16. However at checkout I was told it wasn't on my card. The number that appears on the paper copy [protected] stating $9.00 was sent to my card
I am unable to return to store today, 12/16 which is the expiration date
Desired outcome: Issue of $9.00 that I can use in store for a date later than 12/16 as store claims it is not in their system
Care pass & bcbs get your s*** together
I have cvs care pass membership, have tried multiple times to set up medication delivery online. Webpage will not load and I have all permissions enabled including location, cookies, etc. Called local pharmacy who told me that bcbs does not allow medication delivery and insurance claim filing at the same time (wtf?) and I need to call bcbs. Called bcbs who then called my local cvs pharmacy to try and help resolve the issue. Ultimately it boils down to sloppy computer software programming and coding that must be resolved to allow cvs care pass members to utilize the medication delivery service they are paying for and also be able to file their insurance claim on prescriptions. If we can put a man on the moon over 50+ years ago don't tell me you can't fix this! Good grief what century are we living in? This is just unbelievable... Fire whoever can't fix it maybe? So frustrating to get bounced between cvs & bcbs and neither will claim responsibility for the problem.
Desired outcome: CVS & BCBS PLZ WORK TOGTHR PEOPLE ITS NOT THAT HARD! FIX YOUR SOFTWARE/CODING PRBLMS SO CARE PASS MMBRS CAN USE THE PRSCRPTN DELVRY SERV THEY ARE PAYING FOR & BE ABLE TO FILE THEIR INS CLAIM FOR MEDS
Pharmacy
I brought my son's psychiatric medications to store #4579 on 15 December 2022 at 10am. I informed the representative that took my paperwork that they needed to call Martin Army Community Hospital to move the meds over to your store. I was informed the medication would be ready to pick up "later". I was never informed it would be over 24 hours until the meds would be ready. When I called this evening the associate that answered the phone had an attitude with me. Upon speaking with the pharmacist, I was finally informed that one of the two medications was ready but the second on would not be ready until 11am on the 16th of December. The issue here is the one ready on the 16th is the medication that he has to take first for 8 days.
Desired outcome: associates trained right and attitudes changed. being informed properly from the beginning.
Prescription
This is the CVS at Ridgewood in Salem Virginia I have went there twice last week I went there and there was a blonde girl that was very rude to me made me wait over an hour for my prescription even though there was another gentleman came right in an hour later needed the same prescription and I told her that I had a sick grandbaby that needed this medication antibiotic but they fixed his first and I have been there over an hour and then tonight I went back needing my medicine and they said it was over the counter and I just asked her what is the name of it I'll just come in and get it myself she said no that she would get it herself and she was very rude to me I do not like how they treat people here I don't understand it I am trying my best I got two grants kids in the car they're small I would have to get out and get this and I've told them this over and over I have to wait hours on end just to get a prescription everybody else in front of me gets theirs and leave I do not know why this is policy or something needs to be changed about this thank you Dinah leffel
Desired outcome: What is the outcome I have to wait every single time doesn't matter what it is and people in front of making go right ahead and get theirs
Closing early all the time
Both locations in Austin keep leaving handmade signs up and closing early and every time I drive out of my way to find the notes left on the door. It’s super frustrating.
The location on South Lamar in Austin, Texas does it ALL the time. This time I drove 15 min away to next one on Riverside and guess what?! Same damn thing! I’m searching everywhere and this happens way too often.
Desired outcome: Staying open hours it says is always open
Service employee: Christian
I spoke with Christina at 69-80 Grand Avenue in Maspeth, NY on 12 December 2022.
She was very difficult and rude regarding coupons that I had. She stated that I could not use both coupons and didn't explain why. She said that I could only use one coupon. Again without an explanation. I used the one coupon still not sure why I could not use the other (and Christina didn't know either.) When I got home I looked at my receipt to call the corporate office about the poor service I received from Christina. On the receipt it stated coupon not used.
I called the store and asked to speak to the store manager. Kendell answered and said that she was the store manager. Kendell put me on hold then came back and asked what I wanted. I asked if she was the store manager? She said that she was the assistant manager.
What type of store is this when your staff act like children?
Desired outcome: I want my $3.00 coupon given to me in cash and want you to speak to the manager and staff to do their jobs properly without the poor me attitude.
Pharmacist
On December 7, 2022 my husband, Kenneth E. Adams who is retired from the US Navy with 24 years of service took prescriptions for both of us to a TriCare approved CVS Pharmacy located at 30 Orvin Lance Dr, Blue Ridge, GA 30513. CVS refused to fill one of my doctor’s prescriptions for Adderral 30 mg advising that CVS Pharmacy could not obtain Adderral and/or a generic. Never has a pharmacy in the 12 years since I was diagnosed denied medicine -including CVS! My husband took his’s well as my (Teresa F Adams, 141 Rhonda Ln, Mineral Bluff GA) prescriptions to Ingles Pharmacy where all prescriptions were for filled.
I have been diagnosed by 2 independent doctors (one test conducted in 2010 in Jacksonville FL and tested again after relocating to the North Georgia mountains by a doctor in Murphy, NC (nearest facility) As having ADHD, PTSD, Major Depression and Generalized Anxiety. Unless the federal laws have changed, CVS Pharmacists do not have the authority to diagnose nor reject doctor’s prescription orders.
Desired outcome: Investigate claim and take appropriate action against pharmacist
CVS located in Target in Fort Smith AR, Pharmacist Anh
This isn't the first time dealing with Ahn. She is a pharmacist located at the CVS pharmacy in Fort Smith AR. She in the past has called about medications that we E-scribed to her location and had been sending for over a year. She called me to go over the Rx since she had never filled the Rx before. I explained that there were no changes on the Rx from the previous months and didn't understand the need to contact us. To me it seemed like a lot of extra work to call on every E-script just because you have never filled it. So, you lost this patient since it continued to be an issue with filling this patients Rxs. After dealing with her over the last few months my other patients have asked to move their Rx to other pharmacies in the area, so they don't also have to deal this kind of inconvenience. Yesterday (12/8/2022) I called in 2 Rx for a patient. After sitting on hold waiting for 25min. someone to talk too, Anh answered the phone. She preceded to ask me if I could fax them in. I told her If I could have faxed them, I wouldn't have sat on hold for 25 mins. She proceeded to take the information multiple times even after me explaining that this patient fills both these Rx with them monthly and they should be in the system to see. Instead of me repeating the same information multiple times. She continued to ask for my address, phone number, DEA, XDEA, and NPI for the provider... As I went to give her the second Rx, she said that she had closed out of the patient's profile. I told her that I made it clear when she answered I had two Rxs for the same patient to call in. We went through the same process again for the second Rx. Address, Phone number, DEA, XDEA, and NPI.
Today the patient calls and says she went to Target to the pharmacy and was told she didn't have any Rx to be filled at this time. I told the patient that I called the Rx in myself and would call the pharmacy back and let her know once they were taken care of. 12/9/22- I called the pharmacy and I asked for a manager, and she told me there isn't one, then it was he is on vacation till 12/13. I asked for his name, she said his name is Brad. When I asked for his last name, she said she didn't know it. If I had a complaint to go to the CVS corporate website.
After being unable to talk to the manager or a supervisor, I explained that I called in two Rx for a patient yesterday and that the patient had been there today to pick up her Rx's and she was told that she didn't not have any Rx to be filled.
When I explained to Anh that I called in two Rx yesterday for a patient she said yesterday was messy. She would look for the Rx. I told her that I called them in and she was who I spoke too. She then said that yes, she would have to find them. I asked do you know the name of the patient in question, and she was able to give me the patients first name. She had me hold while she looked to see if they had the medication in stock. Then if it was within the time for them to be filled. She said at that point that the one Rx was to early and couldn't be filled till 12/17 for insurance to cover it but the other was available and they would try to have it ready by 5 before they closed. I proceeded to ask why they turned the patient away, telling her she didn't have any Rx to fill. She didn't have an answer. She asked if she wanted to pick them up today. I explained that yes she would have liked to pick them when she was there earlier before their break.
I would hope that this isn't behavior that could go on unnoticed. This Pharmacist isn't helping keep your customers. She is causing more issues that its worth.
Desired outcome: I would like a call or to be contacted by the manager, since this has been an ongoing issue.
Pharmacy Customer Service
I got a prescription three days ago sent to CVS/Pharmacy #8940 Bronx, NY - 1688 on Westchester Ave. I have been calling for three days. Each day Im on hold for no less than 45 minutes. The very first time was 51 minutes. It took so long that I got a Charlie horse in my neck from holding the phone. Why doesn't the pharmacy just have someone available to answer the phones. It seems that would be the logical thing to do. I had a specific question about my medication related to my blood pressure. I haven't even been contacted about the medication. I'm supposed to take it every day, but I have yet to receive it or find out when or if it is even available. I feel like your company could do a lot better when it comes to customer service. Even as I write this complaint, I have been on hold for 30min. This is ridiculous service that should not be allowed by your company. I hope this letter is read by those who can actually make a difference.
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a simple answer or better phone management.
Not reeceiving any coupons/rewards
I called CVS a few weeks ago complaining about this, and they reassured me that I would once again be receiving my reward/coupons, etc., after a couple of weeks. But no no avail, I still am not receiving them.
I use CVS constantly and wonder what in the world happened! Please advise!
Thx.
My name is Carmen Lee and I use the CVS in Amherst, Massachusetts, on University Avenue. My phone is:[protected]
I will look for your reply as soon as possible, as I “live” on little income and used my coupons all the time to help with my limited income.
Desired outcome: To get my rewards and coupons back, as usual
I may still file charges but would like to see those employees dealt with appropriately.

Good day,
On November 24th, I went to pick up a medication from a CVS pharmacy located at 8900 SW 97th Ave Miami FL, 33176. While there I put on the Flu Vaccine. Few days later I received some papers from AETNA CVS Health;
Coincidentally I found out that someone named Ivan Parra Sanz (NPN #: [protected]) ,which I don't know who that person is, had canceled my contract with my current health insurance on marketplace and not only that but the one I had applied to for next year. That information for my insurance was only given to my Health Insurance Broker and no one else which led me to find out that someone at the CVS Pharmacy had gotten my information and given it to a the
broker "Ivan" who canceled my two insurances and put me into the system of AETNA.
Bottom line- someone at the CVS pharmacy gave my personal information to that broker to commit insurance fraud.
Desired outcome: Pharmacy manager should investigate the person who is giving away personal data to brokers to commit fraud.
Pharmacy
I use the cvs at 2375 Vanderbilt road in Naples Florida. I have cancer and severe neuropathy and I am on morphine every month. Every single month without fail I have to not only be in severe pain for sometimes 11 days on top of going through withdrawal over and over again because they are out of this medication every single time. I was going to switch pharmacies but the only reliable pharmacy in this city is too full to take new customers for controlled drugs - probably too full because they are the only reliable pharmacies. The cvs in North Carolina where I lived before this never had this problem. I’m going to have surgery soon and I’m terrified I will not have meds afterwards. 😭😭😭
Desired outcome: I would like to see them stop running out of medication for chronically I’ll patients.
Listen something very wrong is going on with this place. This is my 3rd complaint. I have to find a reliable pharmacy as soon as possible as I have SURGERY coming up. I have CANCER. I gave them the benefit of the doubt one last time and used their pharmacy. First I got a message they were filling my med. next I got a message that there would be a 4 day delay. Next I got a message that there is not an 8 day delay. So once again in addition to horrific pain I now and going through withdrawal. What’s happening to their medication? What’s going on?
I also never once have received a reply or acknowledgment from this site about my other 2 complaints either.I just really need someone to do something about my medication. I keep having to go through withdrawal because of this cvs. They will say it’s being filled and then I will have to find out it’s going to be 3 or 4 more days. And then today they added 4 more days. I have cancer and an upcoming surgery. It’s not fair that I may have to go through withdrawal when I have surgery. I’m going to have to switch pharmacies because I’m terrified of continuing to have to go thru withdrawal on top of this suicidal level of pain I’m in all the time.
Drive Up 1233 NORTH STATE ST, Greenfield IN
[protected] 1:10PM arrived at the drive up. Six cars in line, finally my turn.
I am at the window right at 1:30PM. The CVS employee start cranking down the closure for the window "time for lunch".
So, the prescription for an antibiotic was called in late afternoon on [protected].
I have a serious infection and was out of the antibiotic. I finally had to call and speak to a pharmacist to get it filled 12:40PM.
So I've been all day without the antibiotic, now, even longer.
You are practically a monopoly and with all monopolies you eventually take customers for granted.
Your business will suffer eventually.
This store (1233 NORTH STATE ST, Greenfield IN) is the worst.
Disgusting.
Desired outcome: A sign on the building at the beginning of the line:Lunch 1:30-2:30pm, If you are in line at 1:30pm please accept our apologies for closing the drive up. Know we appreciate our customers!
Closing of the drive though in Marshfield
CVS in Marshfield supports the Town the elderly that can't stand for long have to now stand in line and the lines are now very long to the door.
Why don't you pay your employees a living wage. a Min of 70 bucks an hour?
how do you expect to keep people on low wages dealing with the horrible public I feel bad for these people working there and I don't blame them for quitting. You guys hord huge profits while you keep your people that bring it in for you poor.
you should be ashamed of yourselfs.
Desired outcome: Pay them a living wage and maybe you'll keep people that will operate the drive though window and allow the pharm D's to work instead of being check out people. your horrible.
Refusal to deliver prescribed drug
As a french senior visitor to the USA, suffering from Head-cold and Nasal obstruction, I consulted on 11-21-2022 late afternoon, the CVS on-duty pharmacist at 2973 State Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93105 location. He quickly recommended a drug under prescription. So far so good.
But I was refused the delivery of the said drug by the selling desk (Karlie?), due to insufficient identification ? although I presented my French Passport (bio-metric, necessary to enter the USA), and my international Driving Licence (accepted by all car rental companies in USA).
Please explain such refusal .
I would think if a passport is good enough to get into the country then you should be able to have over the counter cold medicine delivered!
