Del Taco Empoloyee complaint

About 5:00pm Thursday 4/20/2023 me and a friend went to del taco on greenback and Sylvan Road we ordered an avocado chicken burrito and a del double burger after looking at the receipt we saw that the cashier rang up the wrong burrito, so they made the correction and gave him his food and then forgot about my double burger. After arguing with the person behind the counter we finally get our food and leave only to get home to find out they gave us the wrong burrito again when we took it back the lady behind the counter argued again and followed us outside the and told us to never come back.

Desired outcome: Write up for arguing with a paying customer.

Del Taco Discrimination against autistic child and awful inedible food

My son is autistic and while at this place, girl was rude and short because she had to work. she was mad he used two gift cards, completely ignored my mobile order telling me I didn’t order ( it was behind her and still she argued). Then my son asked for red sauce to be put on his beans and cheese-the way it’s always been, she rolled her eyes-cut him off (humiliating him as it’s hard for him socially as it is)and loudly said as she pointed to sauce packs- if you want sauce it’s over there. Why the heck would we have to use cold sauce on hot beans and -if I wanted to cook I’d stay home-gross as was every item also missing, incorrect, disgusting, undercooked/overcooked-not one item even pop was edible and she pouted every time she was made to fix it. Still wasn’t edible but after TWO hours of this and $$ we were starving as nothing was edible. Slow, rude, several eye rolls, threw her headset on the counter. She continued to embarrass and upset my son after he saved as did I for our biweekly trip there - sorry we aren’t rich EVERYTHING was garbage-couldn’t eat a thing and it’s his fav place. He said after two hours of this, mom can we just go-they stole my money, made fun of me, and gave me food that was awful (near tears as autism is a very difficult disorder and yes it’s obvious so she has zero excuse.

Desired outcome: Refunds for del and bell after her and inedible food&something for how he was treated.I’ll be filing at ADA or receive $70 plus something to restore his loss of dignity. Belittled him in front of entire place now fix it or I will go viral

This place also emailed me a gee sorry, we will work on this not happening in the future here’s a $5 coupon for your….next visit! There will NEVER be a next visit. Had they handled it correctly and not a sorry/we may try/$5 insult-there was a slim chance we’d return. Insult my child a second time with a $5 coupon after what she put him through (the review is a very slimmed down version as it was a 2 hour ordeal and they’ve stolen enough of my time, money and dignity of my child along with insulting my intelligence. There will be no next time, refunds not in gift card form make it right by him or I’ll make it very public.

Del Taco Oil used to make the food

on 3/7 I placed order #47 at Del Taco #1016; at Sunnymead Ranch in Moreno Valley, CA. We order from there all the time.

Today, the meal was bad. It seems the oil that the chips were cooked in and the french fries were cooked in were rancid. It ruined the Macho Carne Asada Nachos purchased and the macho fries.

I did no return the rest of the meal back to the restaurant, because, honestly, I was exhausted from the day. This Del Taco has always been a great place to pick up a quick meal, but this was truly horrible.

If anyone else has complained, I'm with them!

Desired outcome: refund my dinner purchase of $19.03

Del Taco General managers

My wife is recovering from cancer, she has dizzy spells from radiation that affected her inner ear and balance. She frequently can faint or fall and I have to be able to receive a call in case it is her, police, or a witness/good Samaritan trying to contact me. When I was hired, I made it clear that this could happen on my shift and that I needed my phone on me for such an emergency. I do not ever use my phone at work unless I am on a break or lunch break. My General Manager Maria (Del Taco #965) said it was fine and understood why I needed my phone on me and approved me to keep it on me at all times.

On Friday February 24th I arrived at Del Taco for my shift from 2pm-9pm. Within a minute or 2 after I clocked in, I received a phone call. It was a random number in the Las Vegas area. I answered it in case it was someone telling me my wife had fallen. It was actually my apartment manager and the phone call lasted no longer than 30 seconds. After hanging up my phone, a General Manager in training (F between the ages of 40-50 years old) told me that I cannot have my phone on me at work. I explained vaguely that my wife is recovering from cancer and faints and I thought it was her or someone calling about it. She then proceeded to argue and said "It doesn't matter that she faints, that is not my problem." She then proceeded to ask for me to prove through medical documentation that my wife has this condition and that without it, I cannot keep my phone on me. I responded "you are not my manager, Maria is and it has been cleared with her before I even took this job and was a condition to me taking this job. You should take it up with her. Also, what you are asking me is illegal of you to ask since I am not leaving my shift." Her response was "I don't care, I need the documentation for proof." She then proceeded to threaten firing me for not cooperating with her. First off, this is something that was already approved, not only by a manager, but HER superior. It was unprofessional of her to not consult with upper management before reacting this way. I consider this not only harassment, but discrimination and illegal to even ask me of any medical condition my wife has when this issue was already discussed by her boss and was not making me leave the premises or my shift. Managers are the face of this company. If she had been professional and kindly requested the information or consulted with my boss, I would not have a problem, but the way she went about this is NOT manager material. I want to report this kind of behavior because no one should have to put up with this kind of disrespect and abuse of power. I show up to work on time, I do not use my phone on the clock, I fill in for employees who call out, and I work very hard at my job. I deserve better and expect more professionalism from someone who is called a General Manager.

Desired outcome: Either receive a write up for unprofessionalism and harassment/discrimination and retraining on how to properly and professionally approach such issues (especially when dealing with medical information and legality) or be terminated.

Del Taco unappitizing cold food

We ordered del taco today and all of the food was a mess. my tacos carbon tortilla was broken in have with just chicken everywhere on all 3 of them. The french fries were so cold and tasted like they were a week old. We ordered our quesidilas with no sauce and it was flooded with sauce. The bean and cheese burrito did not have cheese in it. It was just all bad.

Desired outcome: I would please like a refund please of our order its was 42 dollars.

Del Taco staff and quality

Unlike most reviews I've read, I like Del Taco and have always went out of my way and passed Taco Bell to go there. I'm in Mesa, Arizona and the store I'm writing about is on South Country Club Dr. and Baseline Rd. I ordered 2 Mega breakfast burros. First I told the woman and then I told the man. What I got was 2 ordinary burros. One for my husband and the other for my son. They were dinkie and on top of that each had both ends open which made the contents fall out when unwrapped. This is unusual for this store and disappointing for me. Don't know whats happened but hopefully this store isn't going to fall to the level of all the stores I've read about on the reviews.

Desired outcome: go back to what you were serving to the public before today...check your employees performance.

Del Taco Food service

We went through the drive-thru in order $44 worth of food, when we got our shakes, they weren't fully filled up and when we got home, we noticed that they forgot three tacos and macho fries were missing also the two tacos that we order was not even full wrapped and the cheese were on the outside of the tacos it was on the side of the taco it was very messy even the combination burrito the meat was falling out of the burrito and the French fries were dirty brown like the oil had not been changed, So I drive all the way back to Del Taco and explain to I believe it was the cook and when I was explain to her the way the tacos was wrap she wasn't even looking at me and I even told her excess me you're not even looking at me on what I'm showing you she replayed I hear you. I indicated that again you're not even looking on what I'm trying to show you she was so busy looking at the receipt instead of looking at me and never one did she say she was sorry she said we will replace it and that's it. The sad thing gas prices skyrocket, and I should have not had to drive all the way back especially with the attitude that I had to deal with. The Lady that gave me my food was very nice and she said she was sorry/ the cook should of been more professional and nicer about it. When we got back home all are tacos where broken. I also gave her two tacos back and she didn't even replace the two I gave her to fix she just gave the three thats was miss from my order, I have been going to this Del Taco for a long time and never have experience this before.

Desired outcome: Replace the miss food but short me two of the tacos I took back to get corrected

Del Taco Customer Service at Del Taco Walnut, CA

I'm a long time customer of this particular Del Taco in Walnut, CA. It was fairly good with food preparation and customer service. That took a serious turn since 2021. I'm fearul that the lack of service and the decline in food being prepared to order is borderline dangerous.

No longer do you hear a pleasant greeting in the drive thru. It's, "What can I get you?" After requesting one item, it's immediately, "Is that it." It's downright rude.

You hope they get your order correct. That's about an 80% chance.

You pray the fries are fresh and fully cooked. That's a 50-50 chance. More times than not the fries are undercooked (dangerous to one's health!); or they're grayish, limp, unflavorful, or sitting around for a while. The amount has gotten less and less as well.

The tacos are sloppily prepared with plenty of meat on the outside of the taco or meat falling out of the wrapper. Same with the bean & cheese burrito where too many times the beans are staining the outside of the tortillas. Sometimes the chicken in the chicken & fries snack box is undercook or even wet with the "crispy" parts are falling off of the chicken. What is that about?!

This Del Taco needs to get it together. The employees hired since the pandemic have been dreadful. They are the bottom of the bucket. Can barely get an order correct. Most make my skin crawl when I get to the pick up window and see them. They look nasty and care-less. It's just a job to them and they don't mind giving you nasty food...just how they like their own. No scruples, no integrity.

I'll drive the extra miles just to avoid Del Taco in Walnut, CA. Somebody please call the Board of Health. No joke.

Desired outcome: Clean this franchise up fast. Get some real employees; not the best-we-can-find class of people.

Del Taco Stole my money multiple times

I ordered numerous times from various del tacos. One cheated me by not giving me 3 chicken ranch rollers I ordered at the one in azusa attached to the shell gas station, the other time I ordered extra meat on my snack tacos but instead of getting extra I had multiple with very little meat and 3 outright with from the one in Monrovia, lastly the one right next to the LAX airport did not give me one of my nacho crunchtadas. Customer support never even returned my call. This company is run by a band of thieves, period. Check your order in the drive thru before departing because they withhold stuff likely to pocket more money.

Del Taco Long Black Hair

7/22/2022 around 12:45 Went to the Dalton Ga location on Glenwood Ave inside to get 8 regular Del Tacos to go. The wait was a little long but the cashier apologized. Got back to my work desk and after the first taco was consumed I opened the second taco to add a pack of sauce and there was a 5 inch long black hair that had obviously fallen into the taco. I threw the rest away feeling sick.

Desired outcome: I won't eat there again. Please make sure your food prep people wear hair coverings , gloves and masks if necessary

I apologise now that due to the nature of what happened I cannot make a small, quick and to-the-point letter. But it must be done. Even though my own son's first job was with Del taco I feel what happened to me on that day needs attention.

I was out of town and in a huge hurry but because I love Del Taco's Quesadilla's I went ahead and made the extra miles across town getting behind a huge slow line. I ordered two soft tacos with extra secret sauce(the extra sauce was never received) and a cheese quesadilla with green chili sauce inside. I mentioned Green sauce inside twice just to make sure and he answered back during the order at least 3 times. I received my meal without being given a receipt. They never asked if I wanted one. I pulled out and into a parking space for a few seconds before getting on the road to check my order. I had a very important scheduled meeting I needed to be at. (Again I was in a hurry) However, when I saw there was absolutely no green sauce on the quesadilla I thought " I came clear here for this very thing. I am not leaving without it. So I am going to quickly go inside and get one with green chili sauce. Due to it being lunchtime the drive-through blocked all Del Taco parking spots. And once I tried to get into one I was stuck in the drive-through. I had to get in line to be able to get into a parking spot. I had no idea this would take almost 20 minutes. I could not go forward or back out to get out. Hooribly designed. My Mother got into an accident coming out of this very drive thru line many years back. Nothing has changed. Once, I finally got into the parking spot I rushed in, explained my problem to a cashier man although getting his attention wasn't fast or easy. I was offered a new quesadilla that was done correctly. I gave them my old one which was then thrown away. The lady cooking or making the quesadilla for me looked straight into my eyes as the cashier told her about my quesadilla being made wrong. She should have done this right away but it took an additional 10 to 15 minutes to get it. I watched her take many orders before finally getting to mine. Again taking longer than last visits here when they got it wrong. I received my quesadilla and rushed to my car and out of that area. If I did not get on the freeway now I would miss my meeting so I didn't check before leaving. Why would I? I watched him explain it to her and then I watched her take the other orders and then finally mine (although I couldn't see what she was putting in it) . When I finally opened my quesadilla up there was absolutely no sauce! I cannot tell you how upset I was at that moment with everything I had to do to try to get a quesadilla made with green chili sauce. And to still not get it? I feel I was being played with. And yes I missed my appointment. I don't know what she thought she was doing. But I don't care anymore. I just felt that this Del Taco has some problems that need to be fixed. Like I mentioned there was no receipt. I hope you can still do something.

It occurred at 12:15 pm on the 28th of June. A woman cook that made the quesadillas. I apologize for not making this complaint right away as I planned on doing. Too many things were going on. And then I forgot until now.

Two soft chicken tacos with extra secret sauce and one cheese quesadilla with green chile sauce inside. Along with a water. Also besides having no secret sauce on the tacos there was barely even a tablespoon of chicken in each taco. From past experiences, I know something went wrong there as well. I wish that someone could check in on this Del Taco and see what is going on. Or call the manager about my experience. See who was cooking that day on the 28th of June at noon time. Maybe someone can talk to her. I can't be the only one she has done this to. I would also appreciate getting either a refund or a free meal for what happened to me and my entire meal. Thank you

Del Taco Lack of locations is the south san diego area

Hello to the new owners of Del Taco (Jack in the Box), I been a big fan and satisfied customer of your burger chain since its inception. When I learned that you folks took over Del Taco, I was thrilled, ever since I ordered my first Del Taco combo as a teen-with your awesome crinkle cut fries and delicious hot sauces and meaty hard-shell tacos and tasty bean burritos I was sold. I seldom frequented your rival Taco Bell, that is course until Del Taco locations started to disappear from my neck of the woods (South San Diego 92154). Granted every time I travel into Greater San Diego or the Northern Counties, I seek your franchise specifically, however, there is a serious Del Taco presence deficit down south near the border. It's too bad to, I always see the Taco Bells in my area filled with high school kids after class lets out and filled with young adults and families during peak dining hours. I hope and guy will be as aggressive about building Del Tacos down here as you were Jack-in-Boxes, heck one can't travel but a few suburban miles without see at least two of your restaurants which is fine by me-by the way. Anyway, I hope my ranting don't fall on deaf ears, and thank you very much for your time...WMorales

Del Taco Customer service

I went to the Del Taco in Flagstaff, AZ the first week of June, 2022. The store was a disaster, and my order was wrong. The store was staffed with children. Young children. I called Del Taco and asked to speak to an area manager. They said they would, but never did, instead sending me a gift certificate for $10 to use at my next visit.

When I went back to the same Del Taco, nothing had changed. Messy store, same child labor and THEY WOULDN'T ACCEPT THE GIFT CERTIFICATE from Del Taco Corporate. I called back to Del Taco and they never contacted me again.

Del Taco couldn't care less about customer service. Don't waste you time talking to anyone, because they don't care.

Desired outcome: Decent food and my money back. Perhaps an apology and an explanation.

Del Taco I'm complaining about unconscionable treatment of a customer

The incident occurred at Del Taco located at 12207 Apple Valley Rd, Apple Valley, CA on Friday, June 17th at approximately12:50p.m. I went to this location to purchase two Del Tacos. When I received my order I removed all of the cheese from both tacos and they had strands of lettuce on them [miniscule amounts]. I took the tacos up to the counter to complain and the person who made them told me that's how they make them. I didn't accept that explanation so I continued to complain. Since I recognized that my complaint was going no where I asked for a refund because I didn't get what I paid for. I asked the person who was refunding my money to apply what I had paid to a Del Beef burrito. While placing my order the manager who prepared the tacos told me, "You can get a refund on your Del Beef order also." I and another customer couldn't believe what we were hearing. With that I told the person to refund my money and said "Since that's her attitude, I don't want anything from here." The other customer said to her "I can't believe your attitude as a manager talking to her that way." The managers' response was, "As a matter of fact, I'm the general manager." We asked for her name and while making faces, she said her name is Beatrice. After all of the commotion I said I'll never come in this place again because my business is not appreciated. Her response was "I don't want your business." I was beside myself. I've never been treated that way by any business and I'll never patronize a business who treats me with no respect. Absolutely no customer service.

Desired outcome: an apology for absolutely unacceptable customer service.

Del Taco Price of fiesta pack

I'm a loyal Del Taco customer and go there often. My order most of the time is the Fiesta Pack (6 Tacos/6 Burritos). Today I went to the Del Taco drive through window and ordered the Fiesta Pack. The price is usually $ 17.00 + (counting the tax), but today when I pulled up to the window the cost was $ 22.00 + (counting the tax). I said "what!, the price is usually $ 17.00 +" I was told "sorry, we have a glitch in the system and that's the price. I told them "do you realize that that's a $ 5.00 price hike over the usual price ?" Then I was told "ok, I'll give you a discount, and the price will now be $ 19.37" I had no choice but pay it, but I'm not happy about it. The Fiesta Pack has been wonderful, but being charged $ 5.00 more than usual because your system is having a glitch just isn't right. I was given a discount (when I complained) but the ending price still came out to more then the usual price.
