child safety harness missing on all carts
I live 5 minutes from the Dollar General Store in Pendleton Ky. It's a fairly new store and I love shopping there. I guess I never noticed it before, because I'm normally shopping alone. I now watch my grandson weekly n recently took my 16 month old grandson with me. I was shocked to quickly realize that not 1 but ALL of the stores shopping carts seat buckle had been cut. I showed employee and she too checked other carts and was shocked that ALL had been cut. Both sides of each cart had the buckles cut off leaving about 4-6 inches of the old strap left hanging. This is SUCH A HAZARD and tragedy is no doubt going to happen. I see A lot of moms having to use the carts with little ones n children are reaching out to products and parents are literally catching their kids before falling on concrete floors. PLEASE. Do something n do it QUICKLY before you not only have a lawsuit on your hands but a sinless tragedy of a precious child. Thank you. M. Smith.

manager
The store manager at store #16259 in East Camden Arkansas thought it would be a good idea tonight to come up to mine and my husbands vehicle and start verbally assualting us over fans that were purchased yesterday. My husband returned today to buy 1 more for my son at half price which she "approved" last night. When he went to purchase she said I did not approve that nope, nu huh, and I am the boss honey, I didn't approve anything. She called him a liar infront of the whole store and was also extremely rude to the customer infront of him then to him (says she has witnesses and she wasn't rude). Regardless you should not call one of your customers a liar. He returned w/in minuets to show her the receipt where he got them for half off and she called him a liar again. I called and asked her name and was completely nice. I got what I needed, Her name is Shermia, said thank you, got it and goodbye. She called me back, I thought how unprofessional that was but, she doesn't seem like she has much customer service experience anyways, so I let the call go to voicemail as I was trying to avoid confrontation. That all took place this morning. Tonight I was craving ice cream, so we went back not even concerned about the fan ordeal (or the fact I purchased an empty package yesterday). Like I said above as we were getting into our vehicle she rudely says did you call and ask for my name and # today, I said I did not. She proceeded to call me a liar and I said hold on I called but I only asked for your name. She's starts acting belligerent, and I sit down in my truck until she starts lying again, this morning she called my husband a liar about the fans, now she's changed her story to, she approved them last night only, for 14 dollars and made accusations that he was mad they weren't half price today. He wasn't mad! We were a bit unnerved being verbally attacked leaving a business by the store manager. In her word the boss. That's the person who represent the Dollar store in my area. She will not yell at my husband over some stupid fans and obviously a stupid mistake. So I let her know she needed to work on her customer service skills because professionals do not act that way. She hollered we are banned from the sto (store) and the police will be called if we come back. That's fine I can do w/o dollar store I can go to Murphy's for all my needs. But I'm not sure why Shermia (not sure of spelling) has the right to ban me and my husband when she was the one who approached us w/ an attitude. Human response to verbal assault (by a store manager) and false accusations tends to be defending ones self and that's exacly what I did. We feel she was embarrassed when my husband returned w the receipt and caught he in a lie. I have worked w the public for over 15 years if I had ever treated a customer that wayI wouldn't be able to even shop at your establishment. This is 2 times in 2 days Dollar General employees have been rude (then attack me and my husband) and I've never had an issue before. The store is always nasty and dirty and his hard to push a cart around the store but I still go to support a business in my community. I've chosen to go since the store was built, when I the consumer had a choice to go to a cleaner store where the employees are helpful, prices cheaper, and are not all rude. Please email or call me to let me know if I'm really banned, because it's not fair for me to be banned when she approached us in the parking lot getting into our vehicle yelling at us. I could understand had I went to her w an attitude first but We did not therefore I don't understand why We got banned. I didn't attack her first, I did however defend myself and husband. Please call [protected] or email [protected]@att.net. Again I just don't understand how her attacking us as were were trying to leave resulted in us getting banned from the store. I don't even know the point of her coming to our vehicle nothing was resolved and all she seemed to be mad about was me calling and asking her name and #. Which I only asked for her name I do not need her # I can reach her at the dollar store as I did today if I needed so that was out of line and a lie. Customer service is about smiling, being friendly, helping and assuring customers in anyways possible. I always have went above and beyond for mine doing more than expected. If she's not happy with her job maybe this is not the profession for her. I'm am not trying to put her down maybe she just need training on how to deal w confrontation and how to welcome customers into YOUR store as she is the representation of what Dollar General is. I'm sure the district manager will take her side. And if I'm banned this is this book on amazon called smile it's a customer service book I would at least suggest she read the book if training is not a possibility. Sorry this is so long but I am upset and shaking. I've never been attacked like that leaving a store, esp by a manager. Please return my message via phone call or email preferably phone so that I may speak to someone personally.
store quality
We are proud to have a DG in our community of Runnelstown.
However, this store has gone down horribly. Everyone in the community is talking about it.
The store is a disaster—merchandise all over the floors, employees smoking in the front doors, incompetent employees with known records, trash and garbage all over the parking lot, and an overall disastrous appearance.
employees with records - so? That doesn't make them bad employees. Heaven forbid someone learns from past mistakes and tries to turn their life around and be a productive member of society! I applaud businesses that look past that and are willing to give someone a second chance.
Petal Mississippi is a [censored] hole. Actually the whole state is I used to live there. If you want a nicer store my advice is to move up north. Our store gets swepted, recovered and stocked everynight. And mopped twice a week.
She's just telling it like it is.
If customers didn't trash the store while shopping, it wouldn't look like that. JS.
Exactly I dont unsrstand why people have to touch stuff if they arent going to purchase it.
michelle general manager
I am writing to you because not only is you manager unfit for her job but she also post stuff about to people of ozona on social media nothing but bad mouthing the people of ozona when she is the problem she was also sleeping with her assistant manager which has recently quit now I have been in this store recently and all she does is stay in her office on the phone or outside on the phone smokeing as in the picture this is an everyday thing I guess y'all like paying her to sit outside on the phone all the time she is rude and inconsiderate to all the venders especially the Hispanic ones because just the other day she kicked out a frontline employee for no reason and now there is a white girl doing her frontline and she is happy this leads me to believe that she is very racist and needs to be fired for her behavior ask any of you other managers about her and you will find out all the problems that she makes in her store I am recording everything thing that she does to Hispanic people because if she is not fired I will sue the company and manager for her actions and the company for doing nothing about her
Let the woman work and stop trying to take [censored]ing shortcuts to make a dirty dollar.
manager taking pennied items home
I have witnessed the manager of store #3944 taking the "pennied" items off of the floor and taking them to her car instead of putting them in the dumpster where she is suppose to. She purposely leaves last at night after employees are gone so she can take these items home with her to distribute to friends or family. I shop here daily and she is very rude to say the least. Your employees under her never smile... And always seem on edge. Something needs to be done.. Please. These employees are so nice.. But you can feel the tension when entering the store and she is present. Please please if you care about your employees you will deal accordingly. Thank you...
total store
The store in Winfield, AL was a total disaster you could not shop for the aisle were cluttered with random merchandise freight everywhere 2 employees were standing and talking about getting drunk after the Friday night football game. I thought I would shop there instead of going to Walmart but I was wrong. I took photos of the empty counters junked up aisles, shopping carts filled with merchandise and freight everywhere.
A concern shopper
That's what happens when low class customers shop a store.
Get a life!
tobacco
On Thursday August 23rd I went into the dollar general to buy a pack of cigarettes like I do everyday and I asked for eagle 20's the short blue ones. An employee named Shannon Bentley at store 00348 refused to look to see if u all had the short ones and made me take the long eagle 20's and I cannot smoke them bc they choke me to death. Only reason I knew they wasn't out like he said they was is the next day I went back and another boy that works there got down in the bottom of the case and found me the ones I wanted and said that he was too lazy and wouldn't look for people. I feel this is bad customer service on anyone's part bc he would not take the time to look to see if they was out just assumed there wasn't any. I could took my business elsewhere but I always shop with the dollar general. I feel he needs some lesson or something on how to help and treat people.
Stfu and let these people work.
manager
I'm curious how a store can be managed and run properly, when the manager of the store is never at the store.
I see the asst. Manager and sales staff there in the mornings and evenings, but only 1 time in the past 3 to 4 months have I ever seen the actual manager of the store, and she was too busy taking a personal call instead of helping the customers.
I frequent the Dollar General and have asked if 2 employees in particular have a bed and pillow in the back room, because they are ALWAYS working.
When I've asked where the manager is, she called in sick, or her fridge isn't working, her cars broken down etc.
I've been in management for several years, and been an hourly and salaried employee. I understand people have things come up in life, but I don't think your manager at this location works but maybe 15 hours a week. I'm sure shes getting a bonus from the store quarterly, or semi annual, or annually, but it needs to be going to the employees who are working their schedule and busting their butts, and opening or closing the store when said manager has her frequent crisis.
I'm sure if you viewed the video footage of that store, you MIGHT see the manager work 2 days a week, and probably not an 8 hour shift.
Are you jealous cause you don't have a job like that?
customer service
I was returning an item with a receipt within the days allowed. The cashier whos name was Linda, could not read the number at the bottom so they did my return without a reciept and would not give cash back. Which is how I paid. I then asked for the 5th tume if I could see MY reciept and read the number to her. She called the manager over and said " she says its a 3 but..."...they tried the 3 and it worked! No appology or nothing and then continued to say that if i wanted my reciept back they needed to mark it so "I didn't try to returning it again." Out loud, very loud, in front of the 11 people waiting in line by now. I have NEVER tried to do that EVER in my life! How dare they accuse me of that?! Even 2 people behind me gasped and nunbled how rude it was for her and the manager Jill to say something like that! I just moved to Hicksville ohio bc I have an Ex who is threatening my life and daughters and they also continued to say my full name and my full address out loud 3 times. They have no right to say my personal info aloud for all to hear! I will be taking this to my lawyer
Seems to me like if you're returning an item, that makes you the store and the employees the customer. Technically they can do or say anything they want because the roles are reversed.
service
I was visiting Jacksonville FL and went to Dollar General on 13807 Main Street to where I had bad customer service by both the staff and manager. I went to purchase Tide pods and there was a sign for a coupon through the app in which I have. First the staff said I had the wrong product and I switched it and then got a different one and was told by the manager when he came over oh well I can't do nothing else I can't change the price so either you want it or don't he never came over with a clear explanation of why the coupon would not apply to the purchase. The coupon did not expire until tomorrow 8/26/18 and both products had a sign under saying it would be $1.95 after the $3 coupon. The customer service delivery from both the staff and manager was rude and very disrespectful as a customer and I just want to inform someone of the service that they are providing at that store. Because as a manager he could of worded that differently that he couldn't honor the coupon or that the coupon did not take but to talk down and rude to me was very unprofessional and rude.
First amendment gives the manager the right to free speech. You'll live.
customer service
Upon checking out the clerk was very rude hateful when I asked a question she yelled in my face excuse me rolling her eyes we did not speak to me the whole time is very nasty all together I felt very unwelcome in that store. Walking out putting my stuff in my car another employee was having a cigarette break she stared me down like she wanted to hurt me the whole time until I was out of sight. Overall this door feels very unwelcoming unsafe not a good feeling at all when you're here
employee harassing me
I was at dollar general district number #859 I was standing in line to buy my product which i seen it was geting late for me so I sat my basket down ..then a lady that worked there wasn't on the clock had followed me outside to say what is my basket there for she has to be the one puting it up like as if I wasn't coming back to get the basket ..I told her I was gonna get the basket but why would she even exchange words with me in such a negative way and attitude. .then a man I domt know if he was the manager are not but the way he went about it took pics of my license plates as if I was a theft ..etc and I'm always spending at the dollar store ..today 8/24 was the worse customer service outside of them not speaking nor greeting u at door ..poor service on that end ...then after exchange of words he said i cant come back into store as if I did something wrong when he didn't know the story on the end of when I told that lady she is rude and he is unprofessional ..I need this addressed because I'm call cooperate as well on this issue and filing a complaint for harassment ..I called for their names he hung up the phone saying don't threaten me when I just asked for names and district numbers ..poor service and lost a loyal customer I will not go to n e more dollar genarals
managers and store
Me and my husband go to Dollar General religiously in Little Rock, Arkansas on Mabelvale Cut-off. Lately the store has been closing at 8pm and we know it closes later than that. When we go in the store and get ready to check out, there is always this young man there, who he says he is the manager. All I know is he has gold teeth in his mouth. When checking you out he always seems to be talking to the other manager that is off duty. He is talking to her like they are on the streets. He is cursing and it's not under his breath, it's loud, loud enough for us to hear it while we are in line. And the other manager says nothing. Way to go. I think they need to be fired. This is unexceptable.
That's the problem with you people. If everybody that you want gets fired from their job because of a cuss word, this economy would be in terrible shape. Next time wear some damn earplugs.
service of the manager mike, the behavior and refusal to give me district managers number.
I wen to Dollar general in seymour last night which would be Thursday- August 23rd. I ask to make sure red dot was 50% because I have a relative that told me that the red dots are still 50% off. The cashier said they are full price, so then I ask Mike the manger if I could have the District Managers number he refused many times, said he is the only one that can have and he cant give that out. The Manger and Cashier were rude. Also other store have clearances on like summer items for today, they only have a few out. All the summer popsicle are gone none in the store, if they do they keep them in the back for themselves. When the red dots were on sale in my home town, I came back to Seymour Dollar general and they had no signs out at all. I would like to have a district manger call me
customer service
I have emailed at least 3 times and spoke to several people via telephone several times. I have also allegedly spoke on telephone to a vp of something. My concerns started when Sarah Gregos newer key holder was hired. As mentioned wewoka is a small town where everyone knows everyone's business. Sarah called another store and told them to watch me and girlfriend because we steal, which is not now nor ever the case. Of course I received a call from the other store telling me about sarah calling them. I also indicated that I was concerned about issues getting worse once I started to complain. I was correct after the vp called me and insured me that things would be better. She indicated she would resolve the issues. Things are ridiculous now, certain ones Liz and Trish and Sarah will refuse to check my stuff out. Attitudes and behaviors are worse when Sarah is working. The new cashier Jill gets picked on. Yesterday Sarah yelled at her in front of other customers when.she asked for help. Tonight trish was walking by when my girlfriend said excuae me because she was asking about the clearance sale, she started to laugh and kept walking, actually turned around rolled her eyes. When I walked up to register and asked her if she could scan an item so I could see if it was 1/2 off clearance she snatched the item and said I dont know why I need to scan it are you even gonna buy it. The item actually rang up higher than the sticker I said well its marked wrong she said you probably changed tag anyways. When we finished shopping trish and liz we standing near an isle, trish pointed at my girlfriend laughed and said her right there. This is my last attempts at contacting this office to make the situation right I have begun to write a letter to several newspapers including daily Oklahoman as well as have contact info for news channel whom I explained i would attempt to contact corporate one last time before taking advantage of his offer to help me make this issue and the innapropriate way that it is being handled more public. Right after I spoke to one of y'alls head people. When I walked into the doors loud enough for several people to over hear, sarah commentef "watch out this [censored] right there likes to call corporate and tell on people", she laughed and said sorry honey, they love me and will believe my store any day". Please fix this issue the atmosphere is so.uncomfortable that your new cashiers quit their jobs because of the bulling that goes on in the wewoka store
Sounds like you're the one causing all the drama.
poor management
The manager Sarah at dollar general in Hayward wi was a very poor manager. She didnt want to help check customers out because she was too busy on her cell phone with a personal call. Another time in there she had a very poor attitude and giving customers nasty dirty mean looks! The shelves dont hardly have anything on them and they look as if they are very far behind on stocking! I been there many times when there was only one person running the entire store with no help. That manager Sarah should be fired! If it was my company I would never have a manager with such poor customer services and attitude run my store!
To you customers that keep complaining. You better not do it at my store. I had an issue with a customer. I the LP that they were stealing. I had to place batteries in their bag myself to make them look guilty. The best part of all of this was I got a gift card for catching the thief.
This complaints make me laugh bc when it comes to cell phones ive been screamed at by customers for being on our handheld device that is owned by the store. " oh whenever your done playing on your phone I need help". Like really . Also our store is not even a year yet we have big issues with our store phone and have to use our cells to call out with computer issues. You customers still treat us like dirt. Thinking were on personal calls and then complain. But what have learned working at my store you customers are blind and cant read [censored]s. Not sure if its a Wisconsin thing since Im not from here but seriously. When the light is off and a sign is up that register is closed. And the red button with the big red writing that says push for customer assistance bc we are out on the floor isnt pushed you will stand there for a while.
And fyi Last time I checked Haywardis faraway from any large grocery store. Your surrounding area shops there and there truck is probably on Thursdays the shelves empty out fast over the weekend. The vendors do not send enough merchandiseto restock fully. It happens in our store.
If you worked there and have to deal with the [censored] they have to deal with, you'd be giving people that same [censored]ty look too.
employees
You have a store in Labelle Fl. #15348
I shop this store ever since it was a plain Dollar General and was always happy with it but now it has become a Market store and it has changed as far as the employees.
When it opened a few former employees came over to it from the old store, these are good workers and friendly, always helpful. Now you have kids running the store, acting like teenagers, slapping at each other, making comments that they shouldn't and just not working as they should.
I see that this store seems to have manager and assistant manager problems, may I suggest that you quit hiring children to act as bosses and hire some adults. You have lost a number of the older employees due to the fact that these kids do nothing but cause trouble and then try to throw everyone under the bus to cover their butts. Is this Dollar General policy?
I have see with my own eyes these kids walk by carts in the lot and not take them into the store, walk by trash on the floor and keep going, walk by items that are leaking or broken and not do anything with them.
I worked retail for a number of years and don't ever remember such trash like this in a store, maybe corporate need to get off their butts and see why this store is such a mess.
Now about your managers, the first manager Kevin tried his best to make this store a showplace but due to illness he left and was replaced by another do nothing person that just smoked and tease the little girls in the store and make a spectacle of himself, he was named Bill, he is now gone also, he had an assistant manager that didn't work and between the two they had everyone doing their work for them and they were just goofing off.
Then came the parade of part time managers, one man named Drew began to clean up the store, people were actually working and the store began to improve vastly but he was taken away from the store and another manager brought in, then the trouble started again with the kids not working, spreading rumors and just generally causing trouble and the store has gone downhill again.
I had the chance to talk to a number of Ex- employees that left because of the turmoil going on, they told me that the boys Mario and Fernando are the biggest problem in that store, they constantly lie to the managers and make people do their work, take the credit and tell the manger that they did all the work. I thought ok just sour grape talk until I heard other employees saying the same thing.
Now you have placed a new manger in this store, this man is the biggest grouch I have seen, that is when he is there and on the floor, mostly he is the office sleeping according to the cashiers. It was also said he doesn't like to deal with the female employees and has a habit of leaving notes or telling a male employees to pass on his comments, I see a law suit in the making here.
If Dollar General Corporation thinks this is the way to run a store then I will switch to Family Dollar, They need to start taking an interest in this store and see for themselves what is going on here, I know a number of people that have quit shopping this store because they say its just not worth the crap they have to put up with.
I might suggest that you get the former manager Drew back in this store, let him straighten it back up, get rid of the kids and hire adults.
We are starting a group in this area called Hendry County Consumer Group for the sole purpose of keeping an eye on this and other businesses in our area and trying to get improvements in them, so you can look forward to us continuing to file complaints until this store is fixed.
I would also like to make this comment concerning the employees that do work, they are treated like slaves, taken advantage of and looked upon as do nothing personnel and scapegoats. You have one older white lady, a young white girl and two Spanish girls are working their butts off when ever they are in the store while your Spanish boys are loafing around causing trouble.
I am sure that nothing will come of my complaint and it will be regarded as trash but I will say I know there are cameras in that store as in other stores and its a simple matter to check them and see exactly what goes on, that is if Dollar General Corporation has the desire to do it.
customer service
Dear Sir/Madam
I was in your store at 11:10 am on August 24 2018. I proceeded to check out and the woman at the register (manager)just walked away not saying anything to me. Another lady came from back room saying I would have to move my items for purchase ($80) that register was closed. I usually do not complain as I have been in customer service. I spend about $300/mo at this store on a regular basis. I hope in the near future customer service in this store improves.

cleanliness
Dollar General at intersection of veterans Pkwy And delprado blvd cape coral. The bathroom has to be against code for cleanliness. And the floors around the store are covered in dirt, hair, bugs, dust, old merchindise tags that have fallen off, ect.. Most of the stores in the cape coral area are fairly clean other than this particular one. Thank you for reading. Hopefully the subject can be dealt with it could possibly be a turn off for I and other family's who shop at the store year round.
Most appreciate, Anonymous
That looks like one of the cleaner restrooms I've seen. It could be a lot worse.
store clutter
Customer Service:
Something needs to be done to help Caroline with the Heights Ravenna Rd. store located in MI! I was in there yesterday & there were carts after carts of merchandise that needed to be stocked! Also carts with empty boxes that needed to go in the back. But Caroline was by herself & needed to tend to customers. This isn't the first time that I have noticed this issue! I go in there at least once a week & this is an ongoing problem! The shelves yesterday were naked! Hardly any merchandise for me to buy because it was sitting on carts for stocking. When she was off for 2 months, that store was unreal! Stuff laying all over the floor, stuff just laying in the middle of the isles & the entire store looked like a hurricane ran through it! Thought I would share this problem & hoping that something gets done to help that store! I only live 5 minutes away, love the employees there & have no intentions of driving further to get the items I love purchasing at Dollar General!

Do the responsible thing and leave the child at home with a babysitter so accidents like that won't happen!
Chris, my name is Khrys. Are you serious? Babysitter? Please just, just be nicer to people. It really helps me with my poor self image. I am an assistant store manager for DG. I am also a new vegan and have found that the less harm I contribute to, the happier I am. I didnt have a good life growing up and I doubt you did. This person just wants to take care of their grandbaby. You dont know their life. You dont know how hard it is to trust someone else with our children. If she is taking care of her grandbaby, there is a reason.
You're obviously a troll that likes to talk down to others. Being an assistant manager, you should realize that posting derogatory comments on this site could cost you your job if corporate finds out about it.
