I was with my mom on Monday at around 1:30 pm in the Northern Cambria Doller General. She wanted to buy the Purex laundry detergent that was to be on sale for $3.25 and had the dollar off coupon from the newspaper along with the Renuzit adjustable cones with the coupon from the newspaper. The laundry detergent was ringing up at regular price and we even showed the girl the coupon. She tells us that it was only the sale price if you had digital coupons and wouldn't give the sale price or let us use the coupon. They she was ringing up the Rrnuzit and the coupon didn't come off. I told her about it and she just hurried up and took the m money out of my mom's hand. She wasn't going to give her the coupon and I made her return the items. She was huffing the whole time and didn't want bothered to be there, as when we went to the register and put the stuff on the counter, she was over near the toothpaste and that on her wall and walked away so that we had to wait. She wasn't happy about being there and couldn't have been more rude. I never go to this dollar store as it's always like that, and I definitely won't be back to this one after that. We didn't buy anything and left it all there. I would like something to be done about this situation as no one should be treated this way. I'm not even sure and my moms not sure if she gave her the 11 cents change. I've never left a store so mad and my mom wasn't happy either and said about how embarrassed she was as there were more people in line behind us that heard everything. I've never been treated like this at any other dollar store around and this one doesn't care how they treat people at all. I truly hope you look into this situation!

Store 14499 in Danville Indiana My assistant manager told me I was not allowed to take notes one night when I was training to learn key holder and goes on to tell me if I was to call him he would help me but he would be [censored]y. ... I have Fibromyalgia a taking notes is my everything in life especially having fibromyalgia I take notes on everything. I had filed first step of reporting them to get more investigations done . No apologies from this specific assistance manager Josh . I feel that I was treated wrong by this coworker my assistant manager I intend to tell everyone about how I was discriminated by Dollar General being treated like that was wrong ! My friend and I were travelling through Augusta, Ga. on the way to my grandmother's funeral in Tennessee and we needed to pick up a few items for our road trip and were in a big hurry. I believe it was Tuesday or Thursday around the 10 o'clock hour.. that is an estimate.
We couldn't find what we needed so we asked for help from a lady working there. After ignoring us twice she quite rudely pointed the area out and said "I don't know, maybe look over there, I'm busy." All of that while she was standing there doing absolutely nothing.
I made the sarcastic comment that that was such excellent customer service.. she came over, lowered her voice as if she didn't want anyone to hear her and my friend "Phil" was with me and can/will attest to the whole situation. She lowered her voice and said "[censored], you want to come in here and "flex"? on me?, whatever that means and continued asking me to come out in the parking lot where she was going to "beat my [censored] and my friend Phil as well!
Both of us are tiny in size, cannot fight and are devout Christians.. and she just kept whispering it at us and talked about her man outside "gonna handle business" on us. I maybe weigh 100 lbs soaking wet and have never got in a fight or done anything violent in my life. I abhor violence and work for PETA rescuing abused animals with Phil.
We were mortally terrified, especially going through the recent death in my family. How would you feel? I couldn't hardly walk out because my knees were shaking like Jello and with all the store and school shootings these days who knows what this person would do! She looked like one of those thug gangsters in a rap song. We nearly called the police but we were on time critical getting to TN. to see my family member be buried and didn't have time to stay 1-2 hours over a police report that probably would have went nowhere.
She had me so afraid I was praying for God to protect me until we got back to the car and got out of there and went on about our trip to Tennessee. It still sends shivers down my spine thinking we were going to be assaulted or even possibly shot in the parking lot in a place we know nothing of.
I will NEVER shop at any Dollar General again and I have let all my friends know.
I heard the other employee mention her name on the way out. I believe it was Anika or Akina. The lady was big and scared me so bad I nearly ran if my knees weren't shaking so much.
Shame on you for hiring people like this. I don't want to shop your store or speak to anyone from that place or any other again. I'm still afraid maybe she got my tag number and may try to find me.

THE STORE IN TURTLE CREEK, PA SUCKS. I purchased 1 starbuck hazelnut energy drink, but was charged for 2. This occured on 8/21/18 around 9pm. When i went for my refund, they acted like it was my fault and I was inconveniencing them. I was so discusted, I didnt notice they failed to give my receipt back. This store is always a mess and always out of stock on so many items its a crying shame. Im just going to have to waste the gas and go to the store on Greensbug Pike. Its the cleanest DG ive ever been in, and the employees are always so curtious. All the Turtle Creek store employees hate their job. When they first start there, they're alright an gun-ho. But after a while, they no longer care. Thats why you go through so many employees at that store. Who ever is doing the ordering, better go back to ORDERING SCHOOL. Last time I sent a complaint to you guys at corporate, nothing changed. Are you closing the store down or something? It sure seems like it. PLEASE GET THEIR [censored] TOGETHER. Dont they understand "THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT". This is a motto that is understood at the store in Chalfant.

nasty and hazardous isles
Soon after the grand opening of the Estes Park, CO location the store has become absolutely disgusting. I've always shopped at Dollar General stores and never seen such a mess. Last week there was green bacon in the cooler so afraid of all of the bacon being ruined I didn't buy anything from the refrigerator section.
Not only is it so filthy every isle has clutter which can be very dangerous. Just a lawsuit waiting to happen. Please send someone to clean up this store.

The store is a mess u can't get around the store to get to anything it's just down right nasty up there. The store manger is rude and disrespectful and hateful she is always on her phone she is never wanting to help anyone. There is never anyone up front to check u out. Nothing is in the right place for the prouduct the price is always something different then what it says it truly is. U have to stand in line for 30 mins just to check out even if u just have one item and the male stocker up there is sending inappropriate text messages to under age girls. The outside of the store is always a mess there is empty boxes everywhere there is trash in the parking lot. And every time u go to talk to anyone up there they act like hey don't know what u are talking about and want to get an attitude with u about it. And the store manager is not doing anything about it.

Hello my name is Jamie I was at the dollar store on 8/20/18 just as we do several times a week I was checking out it was my son's birthday so I was grabbing the last few things I needed for his party I was very disturb as the cashiers were talking about how this lady was crazy and maken jokes with a lady that was complaining about she got asked to leave becaues she was banned well it wasn't her they mistake her for the other lady that they were very rudely maken fun of her that's she's crazy well it really affend me becaues i have a son wich is mentally ill it's sad that Dollar General let's thus go on in I truly think some of these employees need to be fired this has been going on long enough they have treated so many others wrong and it's not right I will not step a foot back into your store ever and alot others feel the same please do something about thus before it gets worse ... Last night I needed a few things from the DG right around the corner because its convenient...but no. This is a 3 times a week thing where they close around 8pm and hours are till 10 because staffing cant seem to get their acts together and show up! I have passed it along that this location is ridiculous and its the newest one in the area! Packages are always everywhere, no one is to be found when you walk in? When I talk to the employees to see if there is some way I can understand why they don't service their customers its appalling what I hear. Its either hourly rate, no one shows up (Okay those people should no longer have a job.. PERIOD) they don't get hours or lack of hiring..I even heard it takes over a month to get the job. WHY? seriously I could run circles around the management they hire! Pay more and maybe you will get a little more qualified staff.

I was in the store Sunday around 1: 30 and 2 I was going there to exchanged some clothing and put it on the gift card and one of the cashiers (sister#1 Frances) asked for my id after I told her I didn't have it & was explaining my situation she attacked me by being rude & yelling at me for no apparent reason anyway while she's asking me for my name & date of birth so I then proceeded to give the information to her & she then said speak up I can't hear you in a rude way so by then I was already fed up with her rudeness so I yelled my name back to her so she tells me "f*** it I'm going to get my manager" come back with two other people & the first one came to me was a lady (sister#2Toni) & the Asst Manager (JT) was standing in the back so as I'm telling him what went on I said "I'm from *my home town" (McIntosh) an we don't get down like that so Toni(sister#2) says "No baby it's not where you're from its where you're at"(in a very rude tone)... so I said back " No it's not where you're at baby it's where you're from & first of all I wasn't talking to you I was talking to him" so she said "Do you want him to ring you up cause I ain't got to" so I said " Yes I do" so he comes with the same BS & continues to amp on the situation so as Toni(sister#2) is ringing up another customer that I think I heard her say she works there try to calm her down then Toni jumps down her throat & that is such such bad business

The cashier/manager was completely rude from the minute I walked up to the register, after scanning my card the 2nd time she said you must not have enough money in your account, which I knew wasn't true and my husband looked at his online banking- it showed as a pending charge which he showed her and she said its not showing on my end so you need to run your card again.My husband and I were trying to decide if we should run the card again and possibly get charged double, when the cashier continued to rant on about her theory and i said we don't care about that..(before I was even finished what I was saying)she said " I can't help that you're special and you don't understand how your bank account works!" I don't know if she was running a scam on us, or if there was really something wrong with the card going through but the whole thing was suspicious and instead of offering up solutions like you can pay with another card or cash, she started personally attacking me.I asked her for a manager she said she was the manager, i then asked her for her name and she refused to tell me her name. I just want to point out that the cashier I had dealt with at the time was an absolute delight. Kaylee? I think her name was at the West Point Store here in V.A, thank you so much for helping me choose a few of those items. As for the rest of the old devil women that work there I think its time to get attitude adjustments because making fun of customers and your own employees is just awful. I see these young girls go out of their way to help everyone who walks in that door and makes conversation when you have your manager rolling her eyes at people and the others just having such bad attitudes and accusing people of stealing. I felt horrible the one evening because I stood right next to a nice older woman who over heard an employee talking so horribly about her daughter that works there! I waited in line for about 30 minutes while the new girl was hacking everyone eput and no one would help her. The one with the thing on her head was in back on her phone. I shop there every day and see that same new girl.work there every day with no front end help and when she does call for help the attitude that is given that she pages them.is juT unbelievable. I was rushed and kicked out of the store 4 minutes before they closed because the assistant manager doesn't like me. The store is a place for old woman drama and these young girls should not have 5o tolerate it. They are their to work not listen to the old hens squeak about everything. Since when an employee can say such racial words to a child in front his mother .Her name is Cindy she works at dollar general in Opelousas, Louisiana store location hwy 31 . It should not matter what race your children are .As a white woman with all this racism going on she should know better and should be trained on how to treat customers .My husband and i are raising our children to not see color of someone skin .We love everyone . job application discrimination
I have been trying to work for dollar general again for a year or more and I have been told today that my application came back not rehire able I feel that I was given this because I was fired for going to a funeral and my cousin and sister can vouch for me. I will take this to the first us army national guard post and let them know they also don't want to work with the national guard because I was given trouble for going to drills. I used to work at the store in Crawford GA .
DG isn't the only job in the world. I'm sure other places would hire you.

Went to the Dollar General in South Coffeyville, Ok. Seen some items on a perfectly stocked shelf right in the back room. Where two doors perfectly open to enter. While I was looking at things that were, what I thought, a sale place. An employee by the name of Donna came up to me, yelling about how we weren't suppose to be back there. I was shocked that she would talk to her customers like that when it clearly was a mistake. I spend money in there quite frequently but I will never go back due to the lack of service and down grading I received from this woman. It was quite offensive and hurtful. Quite frankly I don't know how she is okay talking to people like that in general letting alone at work.

I went in to buy hotdogs and a pack of cigarettes. Gave her a $20 bill and asked if i can have two $5 bills for my change she stated she did not have two $5 bills to GIVE AWAY! Clearly i didn't want her to give them AWAY to me it's my change how would she be giving my change to me away? Then i asked her if she could spare one $5 bill and the rest in ones. She rolled her eyes and chunked the change. Clearly she's not happy with her job in customer service and it was very unpleasant for me. She was a short fat Mexican girl. I was there around 01:15pm today.
To you customers that keep complaining. You better not do it at my store. I had an issue with a customer. I the LP that they were stealing. I had to place batteries in their bag myself to make them look guilty. The best part of all of this was I got a gift card for catching the thief.
If its the weekend we cant just give you what you want bc the bank is closed till Monday. And we dont have enough money in our change account. We keep very little for ourselves. Just like our store customers think were the freaking bank and constantly asking for rolls of quarters. And i dont see what her appearence has anything to do with you not getting your way. There was floor box & osculating fans on the floor displayed for sale. I took pictures of the prices. They was all marked $1. & $2. (Something) I had 4 & was told by Rhonda they was priced wrong. Which was not my fault. I feel I should of had an appalogy by the mngr Rhonda & been sold the fans for the price they was marked. She raised her voice to the employee that priced the products telling her "Yes, Sommmeone priced them WRONG!" & That was it. I stood there looking like a fool while a customer behind me told me it wasn't my fault. Jody Lowther 3047 Orchard St Weirton Wv. She didn't even offer to put them back. After a long silence I said well I guess I'll just put these back. Nothing was said not a thank you or no I'll do that. She just rang my merchandise with a ticked off look on her face with the employee that priced it wrong stood there. She didn't ask that employee to pull the fans or please correct that. I feel I should of got the fans for the price they was marked. I had 2 of each. I shop there almost everyday. I've got to know a few employees. I can always tell when this Rhonda is working the store is a mess! She had the ONLY cashier clean up a broken pickle jar mess while a line formed. Rhonda did not wait on customers. We all had to wait in line for the cashier to clean up & then come & ring us out. While I watched Rhonda in a little room behind the counter. I was sure to ask her name when she reprimanded the New Employee in front everyone this time with the fan pricing. That should of been done in private. The items sold for the price it was marked & the items pulled immediately off of the floor. I've worked retail with rite aid for yrs. & this lady has surely caught my attention. She definitely needs customer service & correction of employee training to not do that in front of customers. I'm not 1 to complain & for me to be bothered makes me wonder how many more life long daily customers that may go elsewhere because of this management...? I took pictures when I carried back my own fans so customers behind me didn't have to manuvee around.
There's 2 numbers on the tag. 1 and 7. Does it make more sense for the fans to be $17 or $1.70? Use some common sense.

Visited the Dollar General located on Montvale Rd in Maryville TN on August 18. I couldn't get down many of the aisles to shop. Apparently they had gotten a truck on Friday and had the aisles blocked with u-boats of freight. There was at least 5 or six blocking the aisle of toliet paper and paper towels. Almost every aisle that I needed to go down had a u-boat of freight. This was not the first time that this has happened but this was the most inconvenient time. Normally they have a few out at the end of the aisles and totes of freight at the register. Out of all the Dollar Generals that I go to this one seems to be the worst to get through because of freight. The only reason I go to this one most is because I live 5 minutes from there. But on the 18th I put my items back and left without buying anything. I drove farther away from my house to go to another Dollar General just to buy the stuff that I had in my buggy at the first store. I had no trouble at the other Dollar General getting around their store.

She aquired a job there and says rude things about me loudly in front of her fellow employees and customers. I feel ya, Jessica Perez. Luckily I live near several Dollar Stores so when I decide I no longer wish to encounter a certain individual I just go to a different store.
Also another thing you could do is try to get a general idea of the bad employees schedule and just visit the store when they're not working.
