new shopping carts
I go to the west 10th St. Dollar Store in Indianapolis IN frequently. Recently they added poles to the shopping carts so the carts can not be brought outside the store. This makes it extremely difficult for customers who purchase a lot of products or items from your store to get them to their vehicle, especially those who are pregnant such as myself. I asked the employee if the reason for the poles were because people were stealing the carts and she stated, "No, it's because people leave them outside." This blew my mind. She also stated this store is supposed to be a quick stop and grab store not for big shopping. If this is something corporate has mandated you may want to rethink this new implementation. If not and this has been done by the particular store manager can you please ask them to stop it.
Thank you for your time.

employee working from opening to closing
Do you think it's fair to have one employee, who is not the manager, working from opening to closing? Often, he has been the ONLY employee in the store. How can he be at ease to take the mandatory break, even to use the restroom when he is alone in the store? This cannot be legal. I'm referring to the store on Main Street in Salem, SC. I, as well as many others, depend on this store so as not to have to drive 15-20 miles.
It's not against company policy to have one person working by themselves, as long as its daylight, but it is against company policy if that person isn't a key holder.
cashiers
I want to know why in the hell everytime I go into DG store in Wellsville, Kansas...there is only one damn cashier and the line is 45 minute wait cause other cash register is closed? This store has been open and never used only one register WHY? I am fed up going here and standing in line cause they don't want to open another register to help their customers! I left my products I intended to buy on floor and walked out as did several other customers, it needs Addressed by the District Manager or he/she needs replaced as the manager if this store does it ridiculous! They need to hire more cashier's and stop being cheap company and step up for their customers!
As long as the store is making money, nothing will change in these stores.
cashier
The cashier that worked the morning shift at store number #18244 (shakina) is very rude and should not be in customer service dealing with the public. As soon as you give her a coupon she holds up the line just to read the whole coupon word for word and call a manager. Instead of scanning the coupon to see if it would go through she complains i hate coupons to the consumers. If you don't like dealing with coupons then you are in the wrong profession. The coupon I gave her stated $5 of 3 gain products and that you can only use 1 in a transactions. The idiot cashier was just about to tell me that I can only get 1 gain product when the coupon stated $5 off 3. The manager had to ring the things up. The same idiot cashier said that a 5 ounce product is considered trial size which is the dumbest thing ever. When it came time to pay she said so how are we going to do this this ebt, cc, or debit card. I was not even going to lower myself to this person by answering her because she is not worth it. If this store wants to keep its consumers happy you need to put this girl in the back of on the floor stocking the shelves.
There's too many fake coupons going around. The cashier was just doing her job.
cashier customer service
only person in line walked up to check out made me wait 5 minutes to do what she wanted. she came back then i asked about a 2 dollar off coupon her response was its probably digital. i pay for my items, the receipt prints with the coupon and she acknowledges it then says nothing then finally offers to fix it i no longer trust what shes doing to be honest. it seemed like she was going out of her way to not use the coupon and liked making me wait. maybe racism as she is african american and i am caucasian.
That's it. It was racism. Lmao.
corporate dg weekly ad
In Pine island mn today I went to get Diet
Pepsi 12 packs tonight Oct 6 at 7:30 that was on sale for 3/$10. The ad says through Oct 6 not stopping at 7:00 pm. I called another store and they were selling sale price until 10:00 pm. How can you have a corporate ad but it differs from store to store. Today was first day of stopping the sale at 7 pm. I looked at the ad again and it said nothing about stopping at 7pm. I asked the clerk and he said it was DG policy. That was when I called another store. I was very disappointed with only our store stopping the sale at 7 pm. Any questions please contact me.

Actually the stores are supposed to pull the last week ad before putting up the this week ad. The new ad is active in pos after 7 however the old ad even though its taken down is still active until closing.
rude and obnoxious employees
I just left Dollar General #02355 and am appalled at the vulgarity two employees were using in the store. I purchased a little over $20.00 but might've purchased $100.00 had I not been so dismayed!
I know I read the name tag on one employee being named Mona who was Hispanic. The other one was also Hispanic. She kept saying the f... you word. They were using words like [censored], f..., stupid...all quite loud that I heard them three rows away and at the front of the store all while they were towards the back. They were yelling all of this to a man that was there playing around with them also being obnoxious! Yelling, "I ain't got time for your [censored]! F... you!" This took place over a period of 15 minutes that I was there. I can't imagine how much longer it had gone on or goes on daily. Shame on them! There were children, elderly and several other people. The Manager had to have heard them. She did nothing! Unless she was not the Manager but she was the only Caucasian lady there and she was not talking like that.
I would appreciate it if you have a class for these ladies on how to act in public, especially at My Dollar General!
bathroom service
I have visited 2 dollar general stores in Bristol, Tn. so far in the past year; and when I desperately had to use the bathroom, they would always say that it was out of order. How can the employees work without using the bathroom? Some people walks to where they have to go, and when we shop at the store, we deserve as much respect as the employees. There's no way that the bathroom are out of order each time we go in!
A bathroom is a privilege not a necessity in stores that don't serve hot food.
manager at 4321
While in the store working on a reset, with the store full of customers, this manager rudely & loudly pitched a fit because I was pulling forward product on the shelves to properly merchandise & complete my reset. I was unaware that the product was pushed back for a reason and was simply doing my job. A simple and polite explanation of the products placement would have been more than acceptable and appreciated.
Also, prior to my encounter with her I observed her angrily reprimand, again in front of a checkout full of customers, a assistant manager for asking her about a process concerning your internet coupons.
I completely understand that she was and is stressed both personally and professionally; however, that does not excuse her deplorable treatment of staff, people or of merchandisers there to support her & her store.
the store
Store in Tolar Texas 76476 is always unorganized and dirty. The staff is great but the management does not seem to know how to use his employees to keep the store in working order. This is the only Dollar General that I have went into that looks like this and they are not living up to y'all's values and are making your company look bad. It's so bad you have to move stock to get to what you need. There is always trash on the floor and is never picked up. I hope you look into this matter soon because like I said they are giving your company a bad reputation.
dirty store rude manager
Wow I don't know where to begin, this store has gone down hill since you hired that new manager, the store is no longer clean, trashy, selves are bare, floors are dirty, she is very rude, not helpful at all, I live in a very respectful community, and the appearance of the store is embarrassing, at one time people use to say including myself that this store is the cleanest well stocked store around, we all loved shopping there but as of lately no i wont shop there you need to check the store out its awful cant even get down most of the isles for all the trash, boxes, and big crates in the way, we shouldn't have to kick the garbage aside and move things around to get to our needs, I am so disappointed in the store, ready to move on. you need to get a manager who knows her job, and quit playing on her cell phone and not not be rude, and say she cant help us because shes busy give me a break, who does that, well i hope you take this seriously .really need to fix this, and stock them selves, I am ready to call the health department, and what ever else i need to call, Taquisha has to GO she is rude and much much more, thank you for reading have a good day.
You need to call corporate, they will never see this
manager very rude
This is the 2nd time ive been to the store at this location and its even worst than before, , , I guess the motto here is take the customer's money be as rude as possible and you too can be a manager And the place is very dirty, i seen a rat running in between food products, , very nasty place to shop...on top of the rudeness of the manager, what I don't understand is how can this place have such rude managers while the Rite Aid's that's right beside it has excellent customer service and the place is very much clean.
store appearance and cleanliness
Yesterday was the second time I contacted the company about my concerns regarding the Dollar General store on Washington Street in Kankakee, IL 60901. The clutter, messiness, and uncleanliness was pretty bad. Everything from walking into the store to choose from a cart with no backside to hold items inside of it or a cart that looked like it had been involved in an auto accident, the large spills/spots on the floor (been there for weeks), the aisles that need to be maneuvered through in order to avoid toppling piled up boxes or items spilling into the aisle, etc. all make for an unpleasant shopping trip. I thoroughly enjoy shopping at Dollar Generals but these last couple of visits have not been very pleasant or enjoyable. Today I am sending pictures to be included in these complaints.

Although its annoying this is a common issue, but corporate does not monitor this site, so it's best to do the survey and keep calling corporate.
there is no service!!!
The shelves are bare you can't walk through the aisles for all the totes of merchandise that hasn't been put up there is trash on the floor the floors have not been mopped or swept price tags aren't right and you stand at the counter for 15 minutes before you can get somebody to come check you out then they act like it's some kind of inconvenience for them to do their job. I didn't realize that you could submit pictures or video but be assured tomorrow I will go back and take pictures and video and I will make another complaint and send you those
You need to call corporate. They don't monitor this site. It's an ongoing issue in many stores
stolen personal item
I went to a dollar general on main st in Burlington NC and I left my personal belongings in the buggy. I called them and was told they would look for it. When I got there the cashier was really rude to me and said that she didn't see Anything. Even got upset about me asking for my stuff. I asked for the manager to see if they could review the cameras to see who took my belongings and she said that they didn't have cameras and clearly there is a camera in the store entrance. Which is where I left my buggy. This is unbelievable. I will be contacting corporate about this, this is unacceptable to have that type of people working for their stores. I personally think the cashier took my things because of the way she reacted when I asked for my things. It's like she got mad about me asking for my things.
I’m sorry it was the dollar on chapel hill rd in Burlington NC 27215
Call corporate, they can watch the videos and see who picked up your stuff. But a police report would help.
Why did you even bring personal belongings into the store in the first place? Smh
manager of the store
The dollar general store #13668. In Dodson branch, tn. 38501. The manager Shelly Good has been heard bragging and laughing about calling the law on people and saying that she is going to rid this community of the riff raff. Why is this woman still allowed to be the manager, she has ran off customers, people don't even like going to the store anymore because of her. She not only is rude to customers but she is extremely rude and disrespectful to the employees. What is it going to take for you to realize that she is ruining the store because of her behavior.
A good boss usually lets everybody know that riff raff isn't going to be tolerated and maybe the employees needed some motivation.
rude cashier
I went in the Dollar General in Pineville the other day to purchase a couple items. I noticed this cashier named Christy was standing outside smoking, on her phone. I proceeded to get my items and after browsing for about 20 minutes, I went to check out. The cashier was nice but Christy was still outside smoking and on her cell phone. There was about 15 people in line and when I asked her why don't she help out, she claimed that she can do what she wants and the cashier would be okay. What an attitude! I would think that customers deserve better than that and me and several other people I know will boycott this store until action is taken. We won't come back to this store until she either quits or gets fired! This isn't the first time she's acted like this either.
I love how you remember the name of the "rude" cashier but you don't mention the name of the polite one.
The cashier has the ability to page her with the phone if she needs help, so if the cashier didn't page her she probably assumed she had it under control. Customers do have a tendency to over aggregate the lines because they have to wait. And I always take my lunches outside when it is nice, just because there is a breakroom doesn't mean you have to use it
You should contact corporate. They most likely won't see your complaint here. If she was on lunch break, thats one thing but if it was just a smoke break thats another. I know of this Christy person through a friend of mine. She is a very snobbish person and does need to be fired for her response for refusing to help.
She was probably on her lunch, and since you asked and probably with and attitude, she didn't feel the need to explain herself.
If she was on lunch, why wasn't she in the designated break area instead of in plain view of everybody where it was ASSumed she was working, getting paid to smoke. Even if she was on "lunch" by rule, she should've clocked in and helped out then either finished break later.
worker did not want to help customer with finding a item in store
I walked into dollar general looking for automotive items...I could not find air pressure gauge for my car tire..I asked the employee if the store had the item?...the employee said I dont know if we do or not...I asked the employee for help finding the item, she then asked if I looked down the automotive isle?..I said yes but maybe I overlooked it..she then said I dont know, she would not help me look for the item or did not ask any other employee to help me look for the pressure gauge...I am very displeased with the customer service, I will never go to this dollar general again if the employees are not willing to help a customer find a item.
Let me guess lol. You barged up to the register and harassed the cashier while they were checking out customers. And they couldn't leave the register, so they just pointed you in the right direction. But you had already looked there, so the employee is so rude and unhelpful!
They probably didn't have any or you would have found one. They have a million things to do as it is.
not offering skin products to all backgrounds
I was very upset after leaving dollar general. I took my daughter to get makeup for fun and dollar general has nothing for her skin color. She was so upset and heartbroken seeing all the different shades for white people. But nothing for her. I hope that this can be fixed right away. I shouldn't have had to see my daughter so embarrassed that she's not the normal color which were words out of her little mouth because dollar general can't offer a wider range of colors.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
poor customer service by manager suzie
First off, I am a former employee of hers. I quit approximately 6 months ago for numerous reasons, poor store management. I am now a customer who shops at the store 1-2 times per week. On Tuesday morning, 10-2 I received a phone call at 6:30 in the morning from your alarm company telling me there was an active alarm at the store and that police were on the way. I was taken aback that I would be on their call list after 6 months. I sent Suzie a message asking to have my name taken off the list. I did not receive a response 24 hours later so I sent her a second message. To date I have not heard anything from her (not shocked). As a customer I want my name taken off the list so I don't get woke up during closed hours at the store. Seems like a simple thing to accomplish.
That's poor management. The manager is supposed to have you removed from that list immediately after you quit.
As a former employee you should know dg does not monitor this site. You need to call corporate or talk to her in person on one of your trips to the store through the week.

For the people who walk, pushing a cart home is their transportation. Unfortunately that leaves the store fewer carts for customers to use. Stores lose money when they have no carts. Something had to be done. For those who buy a lot, make multiple trips to the vehicle or have extra person to help.
