My name is Edna Moore (Helms). I am a former employee who worked for the company around 2006. I was working my way to train for store manager and was excited. The store in question is #9735 in Hermann, Mo. The store manager at the time was Liz. Liz at this time did not feel that the other lady that was working there was management material and decided to start me on a path for management. While I was working Liz went on a small vacation and while she was gone I was fired by the older woman working there. She was a key holder as I was and found out that I was going for a management position and fired me. I cam in to work and she told me that I did not work there. I asked her to give me Liz's # and she would not. By the time I was able to talk to Liz was when she came back from vacation and by that time the lady that fired me had already told Liz I quit. This is absolutely 100% wrong. I did not quit. I was happy and excited to possibly make a career out of my position. I have been trying to get back on with Dollar General ever since. I reapply all the time to no avail. I hear that Liz has pretty much blacklisted me so I can never be hired again and this is so unfair. I am a good work and was devastated by the firing. I hear that the only way to resolve this would for there to be witnesses to come forward and tell the same story. There will be none of that because the only people in the store that day were me and the woman who told me I no longer worked there. If Liz put down that I quit and did not want to hear what I had to say then she will also tell you no different. This apparently has happened to other people as well. This store is in desperate need of good workers and the turn around is staggering. I have now had two store managers recently try express their willingness to hire me. The current store manager is Krista Schlitt and the former was Brenda, sorry do not remember last name. They have confidence that I can perform this job and Brenda is quite aware of the former manager and her ways. I now seek to please be able to be rehired and I hold a Bachelors in Psychology now along with my MBA in Human Resources. I feel that I deserve a chance to prove myself. If you as a company never let anyone return after they have either been fired or quit how will this store ever survive. people leave this place constantly and I only live 15 minutes away. Again I plead with you to reconsider my hiring status as I was unjustly fired and then lied about. Thank you very much Edna Moore 1530 Tomahawk Trail Hermann, Mo 65041 SS# [removed]

HR needs to update my info to Key Carrier, as the SM and DM has already called 4x. The new POS doesn't require keys anymore and I can't perform my job!

The Dollar General in Republic, Pennsylvania was a wonderful asset to the business community for at least the first year here. Now, however, it has become a place to avoid. At the least, it is generally a wasted stop since rarely are the shelves stocked, or even monitored by a live body. In short, the short staffing problem results in bare shelves; filthy store conditions; combative attitudes from employees (DG).
In this store, there is a prejudice against certain stereotypes perceived by management and clerks alike. For example, it is not unusual for an employee to refuse a customer the option of a cash-back transaction without rational or any attempt to compromise. In fact, at least one manager, Levett, is particularly contrary; accusatory; physically loud; and seemingly determined to drive customers away from "her" store. It is unfortunately not that unusual to find Levett loudly berating, accusing, a customer with no supporting evidence.
This location, Republic PA, was an incredible monetary force for Dollar General at its inception but now desperately begs a thorough clean up and employee redetermination. Republic, PA is a very small rural village; somewhere in the area of one thousand persons comprise the population and the consensus is that we are resenting the lack of product on the shelves, even worse, the nasty treatment by employees; the physical filth strewn around the restroom and salesfloor. Many residents do not have access to a vehicle and have no option to shop elsewhere and we all now plead with Human Resources to investigate and remediate the above outlined problems in the Dollar General, Republic, PA.
Hello, it's just a little thing, but I just bought a package of hotdog buns at store # 18886 in Olive Branch , Il. I have tried to call them 4 times and let it ring at least 10 times each. I realize stuff happens. But when I got home, got supper all fixed, we sat down to eat and ...MOLDY BUNS ! It was just lucky I had a loaf if regular bread we ended up using. I probably won't take them back, as it is too far to drive back , just for buns. But I wanted them to know , so they could check the rest of their stock. It's really aggravating that you can't even buy something and bring it home to eat , without something like this happening. Not sure if I'll shop there again, after this.

Shame this is happening and the company ALLOWS it. It happened to my daughter and she tried to reach out to the district manager, and still no response. This company needs a revision course on professionalism.
I have been trying to get a work verification (start and end date) as I am a former employee for a Veterans Incapacitated Dependent for medical insurance. For 3 weeks I have been stuck in a loop. Dollar General HR automated system says contact worknumber.com. The work number does not have my correct phone number so I am unable to create an account. Customer support at the work number says I need to contact Dollar General HR. When speaking to a live person at Dollar General I am told I need to call another number. I call that number and they refer me back to the worknumber.com. I tried a paid 3rd party service and they said they can't help individuals. Can someone help me resolve this?
