employee treatment!
Ok So in Altus, Ok. this Manager Maria, constantly yells at workers, even in-front of customers! She even made Mindy Scott work off the Clock for over 400 hundred hours over the last 4 years. (making her believe her job was forfeit if she did not .) Then if another worker calls in She tells Mindy that if she dont cover that persons shift she is going to take her off The schedule.
Case in point To day jan .4, 2018 Katelyn called in Maria told mindy she was to cover that shift, Mindy said she had plans. Maria cut her work days from 4-2. (hours from 20-10). this in my oppion is wrong so I am going to maake it a point to start recording every thing i see at this dg, and posting it on youtube, and Fb and resquesting a boycott of dg until Maria is fired!
store
Everytime I have been in the sparta NC store, you can not walk around the place. You can't get to the things that you need due to stuff being in the way. There is always alot of out of date things. You have to check the dates on befor you buy it. Because they have alot of the Asiles blocked with things. That is a fire risk. I am looking at calling the fire marshel for the county and have him look at this. The manangers isnt treating people like they are suppoce to. I wont go back in that store probley for a long time. I will go to Family Dollar and get what I need or Dollar Tree

employee
I was in the Manly Iowa Dollar General around Christmas time and happen to notice that a Heavy Set Fem.ale Employee that was working was HIGH on some type of ILLEGAL DRUG. And once I noticed that she was High on some type of ILLEGAL DRUG and wasn't able to find a Manager at the store I placed a call to the local police department and was automatically placed on hold. After being on hold for Forty Five Minutes I hung up. Then the next morning I tried calling the store to talk to a Manager and Didn't get an Answer, and after trying Several times to call the store and talk to a Manager with No luck I chose to inform Corporate about an Employee of their Manly Iowa store working while HIGH on some type of ILLEGAL DRUGS so that they can handle it
caesa dog food 12 ct variety pack $8.40 bogo with on package coupon
Jan 1/2018 We went to 2 stores in North Port FL and neither had the product - both stores told us they did not recieve any with bogo coupon on package.
This feels like false advertising when you do not have any of the product in the store.
We would like for you to provide us with 2 bogo coupons as we expected to purchase the product in the store.
customer service
Oh my God. Today, January 2, 2018, I just had the worst customer service experience EVER. I live maybe three miles from Dollar General so I frequently shop there. Today I had to get a few items such as diapers, pullups, and a few other items for my household. Upon entering the store at about 1:40 pm EST, I wasn't greeted but I didn't pay no mind to that. I'm used to not ever being greeted when I enter this store. So I just continued on to get the items I needed so I could go back home quickly. After I gathered the items I wanted I then walked up to the register to purchase. There was a young lady behind the counter that was talking to her children about climbing on the counter among other things. I was wondering why she was working with two children behind the register but I didn't question her about it. I felt like that's none of my business. The young lady then proceeded to ring my items and I suddenly remembered about their digital coupons after seeing the sign at the counter. Wondering if there were any coupons for my items I proceeded to pull up the app on my phone to see. But my internet was running slow on my phone as I was searching to see if there were any available coupons and she was just about finished ringing up my items by now, and the line was starting to pile up behind me. Figuring I didn't want to hold up the line, I just put my phone back into my purse, paid for the items, and then left the store. Once I got into my car I pulled the dollar general app back up on my phone and realized I could have saved over $9.00. I'm a single mom of three children so $9.00 is a good amount to save to me. I then pulled out my receipt and went back into the store and stood back in line to talk back to the cashier again. Once I was next in line I proceeded to explain to the cashier that I was able to pull up the app now I wanted to return a few of my items and buy them back with the coupon. The cashier then told me she needed to get a manager to do it. So she left the register and her two children behind the register to get a manager. A couple minutes later she returned with another lady with light brown shoulder length hair and told me to go to a different register. I did as she asked and proceeded to explain to the manager that I just needed to return the pullups and diapers so I could buy them back with my coupon. I explained that I had just bought the items only 15 minutes ago but I couldn't get their app to work on my phone at the time of purchase. The manager then told me no she couldn't exchange the items and let me buy them back cause they don't make money off of coupons. I was confused. I then told her I would have used the coupon earlier but I didn't see it. She still refused. So then I just decided that I would just refund the entire transaction because I wasn't going to just pay full price for the items just because she wanted me to spend more money. The manager rolled her eyes and breathed a long sigh before saying "Okay, I'll return them." I then went back out to my car and got all three bags of items I had just purchased and brought them back into the store. By this time there was now another line formed at the register. So I then proceeded to wait in line again. Once I got back up to the front of the line again, the manager rudely asked for my receipt. I handed it to her still shocked that she would rather return all my items. After returning all nine of the items I purchased totaling $33.94, I then asked her to please give me back the items behind the counter I had just returned. She refused AGAIN saying that she would not allow me to buy back the items I just returned using my coupon. Even though it was a valid coupon. I was now more confused AND offended now. What manager does that? Why refuse a sale just because you're upset I want to use a coupon? Why discriminate against me just because you're upset with me for wanting to save money? Especially when I shop here all the time. Of course I could have just went throughout the store and gather the items all over again but why should I have to be so inconvenienced? Especially when all she's gonna do with the items I just returned is put them back on the shelf. The whole thing is just [censor]ed to me. I then decided to just let her keep all her items that she now refused to sell me and proceeded to just go to another store to use the same type of coupon at Family Dollar (since they also have digital app coupons) and spend the same money I could have spent at her store. I think that someone should explain to this manager that the purpose of a coupon is to entice customers to shop at your store and NOT to become disgruntled with customers who want to use them to shop at your store. Coupons HELP you make money not lose money. For example, you could have made money TODAY by letting me use my coupon. But now you've lost my money today, the money I would have spent in the future, AND a loyal customer. I also plan to tell all my family and friends to no longer shop at your store #19011 (based on my receipt) again either. All because the Manager of this store at 2690 Metropolitan Pkwy SW, Atlanta, GA 30315 is extremely rude, unapologetically ignorant, and incompetent of running this store. Goodbye Dollar General...
employees
This store is obviously being mismanaged. Shelves are empty of too many products, while carts of boxes of products are setting in the aisles waiting to be put on shelves. Many times we have had to walk out without what we came to shop for. Last week, the cashier complained to the customer ahead of me, as he was scanning her purchases, how sick he was...coughing and throwing up. It was very unprofessional and made me not want to shop there again...!
customer service
The managers at store 89 in Jackson Tn on Airways Angela and Veva are some lowdown people they are rude and they don't know how to treat their staff and customers they take things without paying for them .They have ran all of the employees away that actually cares and help they customers and let's not mention their is always the one guy they have working the whole store he needs a raise. If they don't like working with the public they should give it to someone that does
It sounds like you have a more personal relationship than just as a customer.
employees, disorganization
The Dollar General in Portola, California has lost my business once and for all. I have been treated poorly by several employees but today tops the cake! Brenda was my checker and she was very rude, hostile and demeaning to me because I was using EBT. With the exception of 2 employees, I have never had good customer service there. The employees are rude, never smile or greet the customers and one time an employee was on her cell phone talking to someone about plans after work! The store is very dirty, shelves are always empty, and it is disorganized. It is really bad. Our small community needs good businesses and save us the trip to Reno to get our groceries, health and beauty items and things such as dog food and laundry soap. I spent ALOT of money at the Dollar General but I will not go into that store ever again. I also have many friends and a big family so word of mouth spreads like wild fire in this town. They have lost me as a customer for good!
shopping carts outside vs in the store
I have been shopping the Dollar General Store in Box Elder, South Dakota for a short while and almost every time I go I have to go outside of the store to get a grocery basket because that is where they keep most of them.
If I lived in Texas or Florida, I could understand this practice, but I live in South Dakota where we get a lot of snow and ice and extreme cold temperatures, many times below zero.
I do not think I should have to go outside of the store to get a basket to begin with, but when they are full of snow and ice cold, this makes my shopping experience extremely uncomfortable.
The store posts hours of closing as 10PM and this is now the second time I have been to the store and it has closed early. The first time I was in the store when it was announced we are closing in a few minutes and I was shocked because it was over two hours before closing time. Another time I went to shop and the stores big sign out front was on and the store lights were on and it was before 8 oclock and when I got out of my car to go into the store the car next to me said I hate to tell you they are closed. This is completely unacceptable practice for a store to close hours earlier than they are supposed to. I went to leave and while I was pulling out of the parking lot two more cars turned into the lot. Unfortunately I ended up having to go to the Family Dollar store two miles further down the road and I think at this point I just may not bother with going back to Dollar General, because they obviously don't care that people go there when they should be open and then not even get to shop.
It's possible they are short-staffed and don't have the staff available to do this. You should let the store employees know next time you visit (or call the store directly).
customer service
I always shop at the dollar general in Kennedale Texas . And I always seem to get rude service, it's very unpleasing having to go into a store and get bad customer service everytime . Makes me uncomfortable as a customer . I always shop and spend money at dollar general being one the prices and two it's closer to me . But if it's necessary I will start driving somewhere further to shop to get much better customer service . Employees need to fix their attitudes
store entryway
Your store located in Boonville NY needs an enclosed entryway. This building is located on a hill in snow country. The cashiers are stationed right near the entrance so as customers walk in or out, or even as they wait in line to pay, the doors open allowing in wind, rain and snow. This is uncomfortable for customers as well as cashiers who often wear coats, sweaters, and earmuffs as they wait on customers. This should be a relatively simple fix and one that would greatly improve customer and employee experience.
stealing from customers
Seems that this is happening a lot lately. Wont shop there again.

Warning: Watch your receipts when shopping at DG in Tupper Lake
FB friends experience:
Just a heads up to anyone who shops at the dollar general in Tupper Lake, always say you want your receipt and then check it to make sure it matches what the cashier told you your total was. I was asked right away if I had wanted my receipt and I said no. I then got rang out. I was told my total was $74.43, I gave the cashier a $50, a $20, and a $10. I then was handed back $5.57. A comment was made by the cashier about the price of the rug I had bought. I then became suspicious and asked for my receipt. This person did not want to give it to me and I had to pretty much yank it out of their hand! When I got outside I saw my actual total was $56.43 and my change should have been $23.57! This person intentionally told me a higher total and was probably [censor] their pants when I took my receipt! I'm seriously disgusted ð«

Renee Burnell Not sure what thats about but it seems like a policy they put in place (obviously not to steal from people, but to ask that question), my store asks me too and I always say yes its odd for a store like that to ask if you want your receipt.
Wow
Rosie Crate-Clement Yeah ask if you want your receipt before your even checked out, sounds fishy ð

coupons
I am mad/upset/disappointed. Shopped at local DG. Cashier rang up transaction and scanned coupons however, an error was made on their behalf and had to void the transaction. Cashier rang up total transaction again and my printed coupons could not be validated. It rang up that the coupons were already used. They were only used in the prior transaction that had to be voided due to DG employee error. Yes, coupons were scanned in prior transaction but not approved. I missed out on the $5 off for spending $25 AND $3 off of $15. I understand errors however, disappointed beyond words that management could not override this and grant the coupons that I had printed out and knowingly not used. I feel as though other competitors may have been able to accommodate this small glitch. How can DG fix in order to keep my business? If not able to fix then I will ways shop elsewhere. I work too hard for my money and spend lot of time to make my money go as far as it can.
dollar general store in eminence, ky
Only half the store aisles are accessible due to there being carts of boxes stacked to the ceiling. Any aisle that is accessible is a thrown around haphazardly mess. It is a miracle if something is in the correct place and if it is even near to where it's price tag on the shelf is. I've never seen a messier, more disorganized store. I would maybe understand if the stock needed to be switched out/unboxed and was temporarily in the aisle but these carts have been there for weeks. While the staff is usually friendly, they are lacking in the organization department.

tuna fish
Purchased several cans of your brand Tuna..pics are provided. The Tuna is ground up, making it look like Cat Food.Have bought from you before and Tuna has always been flaky.
Afraid to eat this, as I don't know if Cat Food and Tuna were mis-labeled! And I sure don't need to eat Cat Food. I always purchase my Tuna and Chicken from Dollar General, first time ever a problem.
Thank You for your time.
The Clover valley CHUNK LITE TUNA IS NASTY ! DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP ! Its FALSE ADVERTISING AT ITS BEST ! I, m talking too a lawyer in the morning. That minced tuna ruined my whole supper. Once you put this tuna in your mouth, it gets all in you mouth just like a teaspoon full of dust. I dont even think clover valley makes ANYTING WORTH YOUR TIME MONEY, or taste buds.
I also purchased cans of the store brand tuna from them today and the tuna looks like saw dust and smells strong. When I opened the cans
the top layer was turning lite spotty orange in color and it just fell out like saw dust. This is not the first time either.I hope I do not
get sick this time but I an not afford the name brands.
Thank You,
JG from Buffalo.N.Y.

long lines with only one register open all the time.
The Dollar General on S 31st in Temple Tx has been horrible ever since it was renovated. Their is always only one register open but there are several employees in the store. I don't know if they're doing loss prevention or what but no matter how long the line there is always one register open. I just stood in line for 15 minutes for paper plates that is ridiculous please for something about this thank you .
credit card machine at checkout
I am a regular customer at the Dollar General located 30420 Lake Shore Blvd, Willowick, Ohio 44095. I am in the store at least 3 times a week. I find the store convenient and friendly. However, the last few times that I have been in there, the lines have been incredibly long. Last night, I waited around 25 minutes in line alone. I asked the employee about the issue, and she stated that the other cash register could only take cash because the credit card machine was damaged. I only had a credit card, so I was forced to wait in the long line. A few people did have cash, but the majority only had cards. I like the store for the friendly staff, competitive prices, and convenience. From my point, waiting in a long line is anything but convenient. I could very easily run in and out of another store instead of spending my money with your establishment. I hope that this issue is corrected in the near future.
manager
The manager Mary Stokes at the Dollar General in Guthrie Kentucky store number 7068 is pure horrible. She has the same cashier Heather working every single morning. Neither of them are nice or happy. I decided to stop shopping until the night crew comes in. She bullies the crew and shows plenty of favoritism to one employee. I use to love shopping at this store at all hours of the day until Mary came a long.

If the manager is making an employee work off of the clock you need to be able to document that this is happing much of the time, and also the manager is threatening to fire the employee if she doesn't work off of the clock, working for free. She, and anybody else that has had this happen to, also along with the evidence to a lawyer that does labor law and sue the fool out of Dollar General. This manager is just padding her numbers to look good to her bosses. What she is doing is something that we fought about in the 1860's, slavery. It's not right, do something about it.
