the way management treats the employees
I was in dollar general, I witness the manager (i shop with this store many times) she was telling a new male employee that she was a ### to work for. A few days later I was in the store she was telling a female who was applying for a job, that she was trying to get rid of a male employee and she pointed over at him and he was working away, he was around late 20's. She cackled and laughed. Not only this these females will be smoking in front of the store when customers come in and huff and puff and get mad because they have to put the cigerette down. Unprofessional, the lady should not be in management, she should not be making statements to an new employee that she is a ### to work for, she should not make comment to potential employees that she is going to get rid of a male because she would rather work with females, smoking in front of a business is a big no no.
Where is the training for the managers of these store, where is the humility of treating people especially coworkers with respect. Also are they not aware that this is embarrasement to the corporation. Something needs to be done.

rude
Dear Sir or Madam;
Hello, My name is Marion Threatt. I am the current CEO of Clearing Services in Memphis TN and a long time contributor to my neighborhood and my community. I have been giving my services to the local Dollar General stores in Memphis for years: buying clearing material and other supplies for my company. My experience there has always been pleasant until one Sunday afternoon. On Sunday May 27, 2012, I was a little dirty from helping my neighbors that day. My sister and I went to Dollar General to purchase a 2pk Super Glue gel (#[protected]-140). As we went to the register we were rudely checked out buy a female cashier. The register didn’t have a closing sign or anything on the register. She then told me rudely that I had to get into the other line after we had waited 9 minutes in that line: while she was staring at us. She then proceeded in saying that “You can go some where else sucker ### ###. “. I then asked for her manager’s direct number and she replied “You can’t touch me. I am the assistant manager for the company. The company can’t touch me anyway. I can say whatever I want to any customer.” After this, my sister and I left the store. Her actions have led me to write this letter. Any employee, including the managers, who are disrespectful to their customers in such a horrible manner, should be terminated from the company. Not only does this give the manager a bad reputation, it also makes the company look bad. To continue the quality service I have experienced before this incident, I feel it is in the best interest of the company to have this manager removed. If you have any other questions or need any more detail my name is Marion Threatt, my email is [protected]@hotmail.com, and my cell number is [protected]. Thank You.
Sincerely,
Marion Threatt

parking & manager
I was in Dollar General in Parsons, KS 5-22-12. I parked my vehicle out by the street in a parking space. When I went to leave there was a car parked 4 feet behind me and I was unable to back out. I went back in the store to see if they could assist me in having the person move their car, and the cashier nor the manager, were any help at all. I told them if there were lines in the middle of the parking lot, people would know where to park. He informed me that the middle is not for parking. Everyone seems to just park here and their in the middle because they do not know that. He states that is why they have so many fender benders. Then obviously, a sign needs to be posted stating no parking except in designated striped parking places. I actually wiggled my way out of the parking place, but will never go back to that Dollar General...
Really? My experience is that most "intelligent" people know that the lined spaces are for parking. If they are going to park wherever, it wouldn't matter how many signs there are telling them to park in the designated spaces.
customer service/incorrect change
I was just in the Eaton, Oh DG when i made a purchase for $5 & change, gave the cashier a $20 bill and received $4 back in change. When I noticed in the car I went back in & spoke with the cashier. The manger LISA never apologized, accused me of lying, saying they had cameras. I advised her that I wanted to view the tapes then & she would see the cashier shorted me $10. I requested that they at least count the drawer for my missing $10. She said I had to call back after closing and if she was STILL THERE then they may be able to return it but i can't prove it. WTF! I have never had such RUDE customer service in my life. She never apologized, That's CUSTOMER SERVICE 101 always apologize to the customer for an error or perceived error! This lady was just worried about being right. I am calling corporate Monday for the way I was treated, the fact is I work for a retail customer based higher end Home office where customer service reigns. I make that $10 in less than 30 minutes at work, it's not the $10 its the basic premised that she felt I should go out of my way to make sure she doe her job. FYI the correct response to this LISA is apologize for any inconvenience that the situation has caused, actually listen to the customer with out alienating them with accusations even if you think they are wrong. Offer to CALL THE CUSTOMER after you count the drawer. Offer some type of appeasement, ie small gc or etc. Or to do away with the whole issue you could have offered my $10 back on a gift card and that would have resolved the issue and guaranteed repeat business! You are a poor manager & DG should be ashamed to have hired a manager that don't know about customer service. Take a class's at Sinclair.

It wouldn't matter if you made $100 per hour. The CUSTOMER should have been treated better. I also hope the clerk and the manager does see this as well. Maybe then when they know there is a forum for complaints out here and who knows someone from DG might see it and react to it. Look back at the original post. The manager admitted it was all on tape, then get off your lazy duff and go check the tape. I bet if the clerk claimed the person stole $10 from the register, that tape would have been reviewed within minutes.
Typical DG management style. Those who can, get to do it and stomped on and the ones who cant do it, get pushed up the ladder. Ask any DG employee that has worked at least a year or more, it will take some time, and they will confirm what I said.
"I make that $10 in less than 30 minutes at work, "
well aren't you so special...
so because you make more money than her it is ok for you to come on a public message board and publicly bash her? Lets see, you gave the store location and her name. I hope she sees this and does what she needs to do.
You know, there is always the chance you didn't give her a $20 after all and just thought you did. Oh but wait, you are the customer and the customer is always right (even if they are wrong), I forgot.
Not to excuse the rudeness, but I was taught to count my change before leaving the register.
I have worked retail for better than 25 years and I have never seen such poor customer service as I have at ANY DG store. The one in my town used to be good. Then the done a remod and changed the store. Fired everyone and started with fresh people. They must have scraped the bottom of the barrel to find 'employees'. Rude, lazy, the store is dirty, dark, shelves half empty, delivery carts all over the sales floor and out side. All in all just a piss poor way to run a business.
I agree, no matter what, you should have been treated better. Had I been the manager I would have counted the drawer right then. They can do a print out real quick to see exactly how much money has been thru the drawer. The print out can show activity right down to the transaction. Typical DG manager. The "old school" days of managing are long gone. Good luck getting any result from DG corp. I have sent emails over and over and yet to have any reply. If you notice there is no phone number of any kind for customer complaints. That should be a clue right there.
You could have called the police and made a report, they would have reviewed the footage and/or confiscated it if you couldn't wait until the till count at closing.
unprofessional/rude
I went to the dollar general because my daughter needed a quick and cheap pair off shoes. On the back wall signs were everywhere that said "all casual comfort shoes $5" my daughter picked out a pair and they rang up $10. I noticed this and told the cashier. I even took her to the back wall and showed her all the signs. She said she couldnt help me and that they were $10. I asked to speak to the manager on duty, and she screamed to the back really loud for a woman named julie. The manager slowly came to the front of the store while a line of people waited to check out. I told the manager what had happened and that the shoes were supossed to be $5. She said she was just the assistant manager and couldnt help me then turned her back and started checking out people on the other side. I asked for her to get the main manager and she said that the manager doesnt answer phone calls. I asked for her name and she said, "i'm not scared to give you my name" and wrote it very sloppy on a piece of paper so I had to asked her again so I could write it down my self. Very rude and this was total false advertising. This happened at the dollar general near the corner of shipyard and carolina beach rd. The cashiers name was monica hines and the asst managers name was julia lowe. Do not shop at this store!

kimberling city, mo.dollar general. I was an all time shopper at this store until we got tired of going in there and then having to wait for the cashier to come in from outside where she was smoking and talking on her cell phone. She did yell from the door "BE THERE IN A MINUTE'. To me that was rude. This person is wears blue jeans to work which are dirty, and am sure not the uniform of the store. On other occasions we have herd her yell for a cashier to come wait on customers and she was standing right there.! She is also very very rude to other employees and to customers. How can dollar general expect to keep loyal customers when we have to deal with that! You HAVE LOST US AN SEVERAL FROM OUR SENIOR GROUP.UNTIL THIS FIXED. The name tag says Betty.
stealing, drugs etc..
The only store at the moment in this town is the Dollar General and really corporation office needs to investigate the store more closely or more often, To which the management lynn advises applicants this place does not drug test, is stating to my daughter has she is doing application how she is in need of some drugs "seriously", When you have a manager that advises a consumer that she smokes pot and advises her employee April smokes pot and also steals but has not yet fired this employee When you are shopping in this store with children and your suppose to trust a cahier that manager has already advised you steals you have a city full of people that have complained of the customer service in this store, when said manager is smoking it with employees in back by dumpster, Is this just such a small town that corporate office just don't care or what?
Im sure you little sweet angle of a daughter will be out at the dumpster smoking with them. ITS A DOLLAR STORE ! might as well register your daughter there for her china patten, so when her baby daddy gets out of jail...u-all can have a weddin
employees
I recently went to store #12012 and found the employees generally rude and disinterested in customer service in the past. Today's experience involved two female employees who were stocking shelves, or at least supposed to be. When I went down the aisle with the person accompanying me they whispered and as soon as we walked past the end of the aisle I heard one make a rude comment and the two start cackling. When I walked passed again I was greeted by the same behavior. I talked to a manager who seemed less than willing to even act as if his employees were in the wrong as the two walked past to go out and get carts. One of which smirked as they walked past. I informed the manager I would not be returning and that he needed to teach his employees how to behave in a work environment if he did not wish to lose more customers.
This is not the first time there has been issues at this store and I am positive it will not be the last.
I am a non-smoker i tried to return a blouse i bought there. He refused said it smelled like cigarette smoke i will not shop there again!
cashier dressed like slut
My husband and my to small kids and myself went into Dollar general today to get a few things, the cashier was dressed like trash. A young girl with way too much of her top showing, and the gentlemen that said he was the manager was staring at her the whole time. I felt very uncomfortable being in there and my kids seeing her dressed that way. I thought this was a family store, not a Hooters. I will NOT EVER be back!

new manager
I will not shop at this store ever again. They fired the entire management team and brought in all new people. They are very rude ans not friendly at all.when you go in there they act like you are bothering them.A very good friend of mine has been accused of stealing twice by the new manager, she even called the law and had her and all her belongings searched in front of a store full of other customers.they did not find anything that was stolen on her...in my opinion she should sue their ### off for false accusations, embaressment, slander and any thing else possible and the manager should be fired...

I guess this is a problem with the majority of their stores. I my self have been harassed while shopping at the Dollar General store located in the Lake view section of Clifton, NJ not once but more times then I would like to remember, when I approached the Store Mgr. to try and resolve the issue he turned towards me and clearly stated that I should go and shop at another store preferably, the store located in Paterson with the rest of my people my response was fast and clear that he had no right telling me when or were I should shop. I then proceeded to exit the store.
hours working
Hi. I am the spouse of a Dollar General Manager. I always thought that Dollar General was family oriented and that they cared about their employees. In the last three years my spouse as gone from working 46 hours a week to working 60 plus and my spouses District Manager now will only let my spouse have 1 day off a week. I'm sure the D.M gets at least two days off and I have been told from some of friends that shop in my spouses store that the D.M. has been heard screaming and talking in very harsh tone and telling my spouse they are ignorant. This kind of behavior is totally uncalled for. I spoke to my spouse about it, but my spouse doesn't know what to do, for everyone believes the D.M. I also believe it is not fair that if a manager that works for Dollar General that is they need extra hours for the store.that they have to take their paid vacation hours to give their employees more hours to keep the store clean tidy and recovered fully or to get extra work completed that the D.M directed them to do so. I also believe a Dollar General store should be given hours by how much money they make for the Corp. not by the volume of customers they have. Come on Dollar General get it together ... Money is nice ... but family is ones life also.

15 Feb. 2012- perln - Our store #10712 is a mess. A few months ago, you let the manager go. Well, I am here to say that she kept our $General clean and neat. Ever since she was let go, our store is the biggest mess. Things in boxes are scattered everywhere. The shelves were always stocked fine before and never the dirty mess it is now. It took me awhile to find out how to email you. Sure hope you can get our store back to normal, because we were so excited to have one placed in our area.
putting cleaning goods in with my food
My friend and I went to the Dollar General and was buying wax and tomato juice. Not only did the employee look like something that stepped out of a SYFY show, (very scary) he never looked up, said hello, and decided in the middle of my transaction to restock his dime supply. He had enough until I was gone. He put my floor wax in with my tomato juice! No, he did not put one in a sack and then put the sacked merchandise in another sack, he had them side by side. I looked at my watch and it took him over 4 minutes to do 3 items. Then he almost forgot to give me my receipt. No thank you or nothing. By the time I was done, there were 6 people behind me, waiting in line and shaking there head. The store was a disaster and it wasn't because of getting new merchandise, it was just dirty! See ya Dollar General, no more will I be back.! Your lose because I go to Dollar General at least 4 times a week.
Sorry little kitten but you're wrong when it comes to Walmart. When I buy gum, it's put into a separate little bag. Same happens when I buy a greeting card. We buy all different types of items there, including food and beverages and not once have they mixed non grocery items with grocery items. And here's the kicker. We've never asked them to do so... just saying
I'm sorry but this is why people stay away from retail because of customers like you, must you complain about every little thing we do wrong? They are both bottled or securely in wraps, they won't break open unless you drop them. If you went to walmart, they would do the same thing. Get over it and be nice to the people who serve you, next time you may be on the other end of the situation.
As a former employee, I am soo sorry you were treated like this. The company scares off any good employees and keeps the rude and lackluster employees at every store. :(
not getting paid for the hours I worked
I'm a military wife and working part time for dollar general. I started this job since may 2010 and didn't have any problems until we were under new management. I would work 4 hrs and 30 min's (Break) was taken out. Just so this manager could save payroll and get that nice bonus at the end of the month. I wasn't the only one whose time was missed with and we decided to report it in sept.2011. The district manager was told and she said no one had the right to steal from us. She took the sheet and tried to figure out how many hours the company owes each one of us; mine was 17 hrs and 45 min. I was told it would be in this weeks pay check. When I went in to look at my pay check stub; it was not in there. It is now jan. 2012 and yet no one wants to fix this problem. I'm a working person and would like to get my hours that is owed to me. Now we have a new uniform policy and they expect me to go out and buy a black pullover shirt to wear. I feel if they can't pay me for my hours, then why should I go out and buy a shirt to wear for this company when they should be able to provide for us. I'm not a piece of dirt you can cover on a rug. I work holidays and weekends and I even come in for other people and I work over the time i'm suppose to do and this is the appreciation your company gives me. I'm about to move again and I will never work for this company again. I will let better business bureau know about the situation. It really upsets me that you all think we are the thieves and when you take from me and not willing to apologize or anything makes me think you all are not to be trusted. The video cameras should be on yourselves instead of me! I do want my money! Thank you!
I just tried to shop at your store in shadyside ohio 43947 and at 6pm it was closed. There was no power outages because I went down the street to reisbecks.
Surely if the lady is 'on the books' then breaks should be paid? Go get 'em girl!
accused of stealing
I went into the store on 12-24-2011. Had 4 items in my cart, my husband called me and told me I had to hurry and come home. I grabbed the items and put them back on the shelf. I grabbed a book by the front door and opened it just to see what kind of deals they had before I came back, I was just looking for stocking stuffer's... The mgr at the store, who's name is patrick stood there and in a rude way said"your in a hurry huh" why don't you remove the items in your purse before you go"he grabbed my purse and rudely searched it, found nothing and then threw it back at me, almost spilling my things on the floor. He then tells me"people that have big purses tend to steal this time of year"I say you know what, that was very rude I want your corps number, they would not give it to me. Then I told him, how dare he assume because I had a big purse I stole something? I then took him to the isle I put the items back in, and showed him exactly where they were on the shelf. He took them and shoved them back like he was mad because he didn't find anything on me? I then again asked for the phone number to make a complaint, they again would not give it to me. The lady at the register said he was the mgr and there wasn't a thing she could do! My sister has her own store in ohio so I called her and she said I definitely need to report him. Which is what I am doing. I am in the process of hiring a attorney over this because he had no right to snatch my personal belongings, for one.. He had no reason at all other than my purse was too big to even look in my things, and he rudely threw my purse at me and got mad when he couldn't find anything. I have never been that humiliated before in public. I want something done about this, that man doesn't deserve to work around humans. I am very disappointed nothing was done when I wrote the company a few days ago. My family and friends refuse to go to that store now, and I will never step in there again. If this isn't the site I should be at please let me know so I can turn him in to the right place. I'm positive it was on tape so if they pull it they will see how rude he was to me and what he said. Then after all of that happened he says to me" this is the time of year when people tend to steal" I told him he accused the wrong one with me and walked out. Id like something done about this.
I still havent heard back from their corprate office! So now, i take your advice and im calling first thing in the morning to find the right att:) I tried to give them the chance to call, write, just something and nothing so...Now im gonna take this as far as i can to make sure this doesnt happen to someone else or even me! Because im NOT a friendly person when cornered and threatened or someone touches my things...Ive been nic long enough! I will deff let you know what happens:)
Thank you impudent1..I will do just that:) I am more upset that he rudely grabbed my purse then threw it back at me and was madder than hell because he found nothing! lol.. He was dead wrong and the tape(if there is any) will show it all.
My MAIN complaint is HE touched my belongings for absoutely NO REASON AT ALL other than HIS ASSUMPTIONS?! Then proceed to THROW my purse at me when he found nothing...read the complaint before commenting:) thanks:)

I do agree that they are very rude at the dollar general in hobart, Indiana. I work at the family dollar in hobart and we greet and smile and help as much as we can with every single customer... where as dollar general employees do not.. I am sorry that you had to go through that hun. :[
Dollar General on Ridge Road, Hobart Indiana- Who hires the employees? I frequent this store and find that the "newer" employees are very rude. As far as I'm concerned they will not be getting my business any further. I tend to stop there about once a week and spend about 25 to 35 dollars each time, but I will spend my money elsewhere from now on.
employee rights violation
I began my first (And only) day of work on november 28, 2011 at dollar general in flora, illinois 62839. On that first day of work, I was physically pushed (By a elderly lady named linda-lead clerk and only employee with authority level of 5) and had to put my arm up to prevent me from falling face first into the shelving. I complained to the store manager...

When my grandson visited the dollar general we have found on numerous occasions where the employees and manager are outside smoking. In fact one time the manager was at the door calling for the other employee to come outside to smoke. We were the only ones in the store at that time. They left the store unattended and no one was there to afford us help if needed. My grandson has asthma and when he is exposed this causes him difficulty in breathing. Pls inform your employees it is not professional to smoke outside by the entrance door while customers are entering your store. It it continues we will have to shop elsewhere.
I went to the DG in Easley SC on hwy 8 and 2 of the employees were doing the exact same thing. One of the employees walk out of the store with a cigarette hanging from her mouth while the other walked over to where their boyfriends were waiting. They were carrying on so loud n cussing u would have thought it was a gang. This is nothing to the unprofessional attitude of all 4 of the employees that were in the store at the time I was in there. No one wore any type of clothing that let u know they were employees, as a matter of fact one of the girls had on a camo hoodie n Jean's while the other wore a day glow yellow shirt with Jean's and the other similar. They were screaming out n back across the store at each other. I had to ask the price on a gallon of milk, when there were 3 shelves full and no price mark on either the gallon or shelve of any of them. The girl informed me of a price then said it's right there and pointed to the shelve above the 3 shelves of gallon jugs to the half gallon. When I told her that was a half gallon she said goodness just look up its n the wrong spot. The one in the Camo sweatshirt got into a very disrespectful conversation with her Mother on her cell phone, on the floor, so loudly I could hear every word she said about her mom for not picking up her kids bc she couldnt bc she was at work then got off the phone told her workmate her n her boyfriend were going somewhere n didnt want to take her kids with them. The other girl in the day glow tshirt was behind the counter fussing about her manager and I'll just say it was not nice at all, very disrespectful and not something anyone wanted to listen to. Both of these girls, YES girls far from Ladies, were the same two that were outside smoking and I'm convinced on may have been a manager but who would have known bc they were wearing no I'd badges or anything. This is not the first time I've been in this store which has been open a total of maybe 6 months and the level of unprofessionalism and disregard for customers feelings as well as health is very alarming. I looked the building over for a # to call corporate but found nothing then found this website which I'm sure no one who has any authority to do anything about it ever checks. Thank u for listening to my rant. What has happened to even mediocre customer service these days?
So evidently the sign on the propane tank case that says "NO SMOKING" only applies to customers!
See picture below. This was at the Dollar General store on Piat Rd. in Youngsville, La.
I work there as an assistant manager and I dont smoke so I dont get the breaks that the smokers do, I get told by my store manager "Jared and I have been busting ### we are going outside to have a smoke."Then they sit outside for 30 minutes smoking and talking while I am busting my butt working the register and have a long line, you dont fit in at dollar general unless you smoke. Its the Dollar General in Apollo beach fl. Dont go there very unfriendly people I was the most courteous there, everyone else looked like they hate their jobs.
i work at a DG, and its the same where i work also, i dotn get 3 15 minute breaks ontop of my 30 or 60 minute break yet everyone who smokes does, and god for bid im like hey im going to sit down for a few minutes my feet hurt i get threatened to be wrote up for not working hahaha.
Totally agree, its not right for the customers or the co workers. Working 5 hours with NO break, while the MOD and other workers get so many smoke breaks while you suffer at the cashier alone.
I really am starting to believe that the only way you will be hired by DG is if you smoke at least 2 packs of cigs a day.
unfortunately DG cares less if you take your business elsewhere. I hate walking into their filthy smoke clouds. They have one line open everyone else is outside smoking and cursing. Then they dare you to say something about it.
spouse of employee
I am the spouse of an employee for dollar general and I just want to say why do it seem like the store manager get all the benefits. At my spouse store the store managers never work nights maybe one weekend so they make the schedule to benifit themselves. The store never work the salary hours but is getting paid more than anybody on the job but then when the dm coming they stressing everybody else to get it right as if they been doing their job. Then when they go over in payroll they want to cut everybody else hours when they the ones getting all the paid hours of not working. By the way my spouse is a keyholder and a male. I have heard that my husband has to work mostly nights because if someone rob the place he can handle it better well he's not a security guard. So to whomever is in charge of the payroll for the stores payroll you need to look into your store managers not working their salary hours but getting y'all salary money.
Second hand reviews are useless. Please ask your husband to post his complaints.
wrongfull termination
I'd like to start by saying I thought this company cared for there employees. I had been with the company going on a year now.. I was thrown in a store that was distrored.. And me my self thought there is no way I could fix it.. But with my long hours and alot of sacrifices.. I made it a near model store back room cleaned and rolltainers that were from...

To whom it may concern,
I have bought many bags of said pistachios! I am also upset about the fact that the serving size went down yet the price went up! This is a time Americans need every bang for their buck! But my main complaint is that the last bag of pistachios i bought, about a week ago, was the nastiest pistachios I've ever tasted! They tasted bad, most were like they were soggy, some salted some not, some were just plain rotten! I've actually told many people in the past that these pistachios could go up against some of the more expensive brands! Now I wish i could retract that statement! I doubt i will get anything out of this! It seems no one cares about customer service in this country anymore! Heck now a days, which i wouldn't doubt this email does as well, goes to some foreign country where you can't understand them and they could careless about your problem! Well i hope someone cares about the quality of your product and concerns of your customers! Unless something is done for me, I will no longer buy ANY of your products, and be sure to let everyone I know, the terrible quality!
Thanks, Brad Dugan

Read full review of Dollar General and 1 commentthis store sucks.
My mother and I picked up four items and she told me that if I wanted one of the items that I would have to play along with her and say that it was on sale when it was not. So the cashier said that it was not on sale and my mother said the sale item rang up as full price. She already wroted a letter on this. They refused to check to see the item if it was on sale or not so my mother said she did not want the item it it did not scan at the sale price. It was on regular price but one of the item i wanted was in the wrong spot so my mom said to pretend that we dont know it is regular price. My mom was mad because they refused to check the item and there was more of the toy item i wanted because she said while i get in line you put the rest of the toys in there so they give it for that price when they see it is on the sale rack. They refused to check it out two people refused so she said forget it and now because of them I am sad and won't get my toy because they refused to check it out. She says thanks for making a little child sad.
From Wendy age 11

commonsense
This person is not eleven. This person is an adult troll pretending to be 11 for attention.
The mother probably has 4 other children, is illegally here in the Country thanks to Czar Harry "Traitor and Marxist" Reid, and reporting 6 children to feed her fat face on food stamps. This is why we need FOOD STAMP REFORM WITH CHILD LIMITS, and US CITZENSHIP REQUIRED. But we need to throw Saddam Hussein Obama out next year! Romney is ObamaLite, so be sure you pick a winner. She is also probably a ### child. She loves to destroy merchandise. The mother needs to be sterilized but thanks to the God and United States of America hating liberals that is considered cruel and unusual punishment. Illegals think condoms will kill them. CALL YOUR ELECTED OFFICALS AND DEMAND FOOD STAMP REFORM WITH CITZENSHIP REQUIREMENT AND CHILD LIMITS. DON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER KEEP CALLING THEM PLEASE!
Ums, huh? The store sucks because the staff wouldn't accommodate your mother who was trying to steal from them? Ok, where can I go to review your mother?
While this seems like a fake letter it is very possible that the letter is true. I have often heard of parents getting their young children sometimes even younger than the daughter steal. While an eleven year old knows that taking an item off the shelf and putting it in their pocket or bag is stealing they don't know that putting an item from a more expensive bin to a less expensive bin is also considered stealing. They think that because they paid for it they did nothing illegal. A child trusts their parent and does not think they are doing anything wrong. So it is possible for an eleven year old to be unaware that what she is doing is wrong if their parents encourage this sort of behavior.
Also note that at 11 a child right now should be in grade 6 or 7. By that time(unless they have a learning disability) they should be able to write a better review. I think that this person is pretending to be 11 by purposely making spelling and grammar errors for trolling purposes not knowing that at that age you should be able to type better.
Fake or not, it is possible that this letter is true. If this poster really is 11 and her mother does this kind of stuff all the time it is possible the child does not know that it is illegal. I have heard of many cases where the parents use their children to steal all sorts of stuff for them because in some cases they are too young to be held responsible if caught. These children don't know right from wrong because they trust their parents are not doing anything wrong. They don't find out until they are older. Now an eleven year old would know that putting a chocolate bar in their pocket and walking out of the store without paying for it is wrong, chances are they won't know that putting merchandise on a cheaper bin to try and get it for that price is also wrong and illegal. They think as long as it is paid for whether they pay the correct price or cheaper that they did nothing illegal, and unfortunately parents like the person who wrote the review encourage this behavior so much that a child thinks it is perfectly okay and does not question the parent. Thought I doubt this person is 11. They are just claiming to be 11 for trolling purposes. They are purposely making spelling and grammar mistakes to make them look 11. At 11 they would be right not sixth or seventh grade and by then you can type a more legible letter. Sure there will be some errors but not like this. Unless the child is special needs.
One of the better fake companion complaints around here. Well done.
