I just went into the store listed above and it's a huge chore for me to even walk because I am not mobile the way most people are. I went specifically to buy a pack of cigarettes.
I understand that it's protocol to check and require employees to enter in the Driver Liscense number. I used to manage a large chain of grocery stores so I am aware of these protocols implemented by corporate. But I am 42 years old, and though I did bring my listener with me I was very rudely denied the purchase. (Expired License) Because of the pandemic, California licenses were extended for individuals by the state of individuals who's were expiring. I am certain and even went back online to the official California dmv website.
I know dollar general is not affiliated with DMV and I know that the employee was following rule but common sense and exception could have been administered in this unique situation. I even expressed this to her and she (ERIN) acknowledged that she knew this information regarding DMV and expiring license extensions. Her justification was that now you could go into the DMV. Although that may have just recently happened, it still is being enforced and implemented to persons like myself in this situation. The fact that the nearest DMV is 35 miles away, and by available appointment only and the heavy snowfall, I feel some grace could've been applied. Consider if it were you, you'd being pretty upset too. I'd appreciate it if correspondence could be made back. My email is [protected]@hotmail.com
My kind regards, Catherine Dlo
