Expedia Expedia website and reccomendations

Recently we took a weekend trip to Chestertown MD. We looked at the hotels, in Chestertown MD, and they were VERY PRICEY! So, we looked on your Expedia website and found a hotel in Edgewater MD.

According to Expedia, this hotel is Approx 17-miles away and a 20-minute trip. We wanted to go back to Chestertown, so we booked the hotel. When we got to Chestertown, we found out that your sight had INCORRECT INFORMATION. It might be 16 miles if I was a duck or if I could hover over the water. IN total, it took 75-minutes to get to the hotel and it was nearly 60 (NOT 16) miles away.

Unfortunately, we have events planned for the second day that we could not attend.

Desired outcome: So, I would like to request a REFUND for the Cost of the Hotel AND for the EXTRA GAS and wasted second day. I would like a Refund of $150.00 for the troubles this has caused.Please advise what I need to do to make this happen.

Expedia Expedia travel confirmation - Thu, May 11. - (Itinerary # [protected])

I walked into the property #717 and was shocked to see how unkempt the outside of the property was. The shower was in such poor condition that I had to do a second look. There were no tiles but also looked like the existing shower structure was falling apart. I called and messaged the host and within 20 mins of reaching the property I had to leave due to the false advertising and poor conditions of the cabin. Then a few days later the owner sent me an email educating me on the weather difference between Florida where I had driven from and Indiana. I told her that I had spent over 30 plus years in MA so I was well aware of how the temperature and weather is in May. She acknowledged that the shower was in poor condition and none of the amenities were present as advertised and stated to me that she would include that in the advertisement for the future. How is it fair that she charged me for false ad. I had paid over 500 dollars for a place that I did not stay and she only refunded me 150 dollars which was a joke. She charged me for cleaning when no cleaning needed to be done as I did not stay. She also charged me lodging fee even though I did not stay there. The host does not include the pics of the shower in the listing so please ask for the pictures before you book. None of the amenities advertised on the listing was present and the outside was very unkempt. I would have expected that they would have spruced the place before a guest arrives. Very disappointing experience.

Expedia Hotel

The Deluxe Inn in San Antonio is the most disgusting place EVER! Mold, cockroaches, smoke detector ripped off wall, no ice machine, no tv remote, and when one was delivered, there were 2 fuzzy channels. Paint peeling off all walls and the toilet made me want to vomit. And what hotel chain mandates a $60 cash only deposit per room? They said the gas station next door has an ATM. This place needs to be burned down and start over!

Desired outcome: Expedia needs to remove this hotel from their platform immediately!

Expedia Accomodation refunds

1. Itinerary #[protected] in the amount of 230.35 (Canadian funds) was to refunded to my Visa Card within 7 - 10 business days of April 30/23.

2. Itinerary #[protected] in the amount of $357.26 (USA funds) was to be refunded to my USA Visa card within 7 - 10 business days of April 30/23.

This was confirmed by Justine of Expedia on May 5/23 by recorded telephone conversation. I have contacted Expedia numerous times, the last being May 24/23 and to date (30+ days later) I still do not have my refunds!

Desired outcome: Refunds executed and sent today.

Expedia Hotel booking

Had been advised earlier by customer service officer Maria Isabel when I contacted Expedia for a 27-31 May stay on 20 May, that I can inform the hotel personnel upon check in that I will check out a day earlier and will be charged accordingly.

When I checked in, the hotel personnel did not allow paying for 1 day less than original booking, and advised I should contact Expedia for a refund for 30-31 May.

Both Expedia and hotel refuse to honour the option/advice provided by Expedia, and I ended up paying for a night not stayed, the bad experience will deter me from using or recommending Expedia in future.

Desired outcome: Expedia should honour the refund as I had acted on the advice they provided and suffered a loss

Expedia Unaware of the fraud

On 5-24-23 at 7:23pm I called the Henderson hotel to book a room.

I thought I was talking to the actual hotel.

The agent said he was in the reservation department.

He DIDNOT tell me he worked for Expedia.

He told me he was booking me a gulf view room. (Rsv#[protected])

I received a reservation the next day for a room with no view.

I called the next day to cancel the reservation only to find out I was NOT able to cancel, and the fee was my whole payment of $1,282.45!

The agent did not tell me the reservation was non-refundable or I would have never booked it.

This is for a reservation in October of 2023.

I just booked the night before.

Something is very wrong here.

Expedia I can no longer trust you as a middleman to book travel plans.

JC Car Rentals out of Florida is running a scam, and, because

you have partnered with them by recommending them to your trusting customers you are also to blame. I have used your service for many years but no longer feel comfortable in doing that. After being ripped off, I looked them up on the BBB site. There are so many complaints I don't understand how they have not been shut down. I assumed you would only be associated with upstanding businesses. Lesson learned. You need to stop recommending this rental agency so no one else will be ripped off. Every person I saw walk through that door to pick up their car was blind sighted by made-up charges.

Desired outcome: Expedia stops partnering with this company.

Expedia Airplane tickets

My wife and I were flying from Venice, Italy to Eugene, Or. Venice to Frankfurt (Luthansa), Frankfurt to Seattle (Condor), Seattle to Eugene (Alaska). I booked the flights through Expedia. Luthansa got us into Frankfurt late so we missed the Condor flight. Condor said we had to talk to you to get us home. Luthansa said we had to talk to Condor. When I called you guys from Frankfurt, you said I needed to talk to the airlines. NOBODY took responsibilty but I bought these tickets from you. While stranded, NOBODY ever contacted us to help us. We waited in a Luthansa line for nearly 3 hours before deciding since we NEEDED to get home, we booked flights to do so on our own, costing us nearly $4000. I have used Expedia for years and I unless you help us get some of this money back, I will never use you again. The flight locator number for these first two flights was 4EJMWB. What service do you provide? Unless I get some refunded money from you, obviously you provide nothing. I would like to still use you but this is the last straw for us and we have LOTS of people that we travel with.

Expedia Service Not Rendered and Refuse Credit OR Refund

Purchase a round trip flight from San Diego to Honolulu for June 1 thru June 5th Realized flight dates were incorrect and I contacted Expedia. I was willing to pay an administration fee for change and any flight fee's that may have been increased due to date change and Expedia was unwilling to make the change and would not issue a credit for future use. I was told if I did not use the flight for those specific dates I would loose the whole cost of the ticket. This was not a last minute change more than three weeks notice was given.

Expedia was unwilling to work with me on any type of solution. For a company who rendered no service to keep complete payment is unacceptable and should not be considered acceptable.

Desired outcome: I had to re-book and pay for additional flights. I would like to be refunded or at the very least I would like a credit for my original flights.

Expedia Vacation booking

Paradisus Cancun confirmation #: [protected]

We are writing to report a grievance with Expedia. We booked through Expedia our trip to Cancun flying frontier and staying at Paradisus Cancun from 3/8-3/13/23. On Wednesday 3/8 the flight was cancelled by Frontier stating maintenance issues, and rebooked for Thursday 3/9. We had to travel from BWI by Amtrax, to Philidelphia, PA, book and stay in a hotel, and leave at 5am to get the flight to Cancun. Meanwhile we were calling Expedia customer service to have our Wednesday night at Paradisus Cancun cancelled, but we got the run around with Expedia stating we had to contact the hotel and the hotel stating we had to contact Expedia.

Regardless there were multiple phone calls placed and noted to Expedia customer service regarding the cancelled night at Paradisus Cancun and to get a refund for that night, or to apply it to the extra night we stayed. We were told we would hear something back and it has now been over one month and we have heard nothing. We also spoke to the agents at the resort and we were told we had to go through Expedia.

We would like attention paid to this issue as soon as possible. Not only did the cancelled flight cost us a nights stay at Paradisus, but money to take a train to PA, money for a hotel room, as well as ubers to get to the airport, and train station to the hotel. We were told we could have the canceled night reimbursed to us, or applied to the extra night we stayed.

I look forward to hearing from someone regarding this issue.

Expedia Expedia Travel Insurance Policy

I book a hotel and flight package in April 2023 with travel insurance for 5 people. I canceled within 5 hours of purchase and received a refund for the air and hotel but not the travel insurance. When I found out, it was past Expedia’s “15 day” refund policy. No one on Expedia told me I needed to cancel the travel policy separately through a third party called AIG. I tried to call both AIG and Expedia and they past me back and forth for over a month and then told me it’s too late for a refund. Expedia and AIG are the worst!

Desired outcome: I’d like the refund I’m owed.

Expedia Refund for price drop

I booked a trip with Expedia from Boston to Seattle and then back from Seattle to Boston, 4/6 through 4/10. I paid for price drop insurance and I received an email from Expedia saying I would get $80 back that was supposed to happen within seven business days. I talk to the online agent several times with no resolution. It’s now May 5 and I still have not seen my refund.

Desired outcome: I want my $80 price drop guarantee refund. At this point, I think you should refund my entire trip.

Expedia Failure to change booking date to return home early due to medical condition.

I was to return May 1st. but wife got a upper respiratory infection and we decided to return early to get it treated. We tried to change the date on the return flight from May 1st to April 28th but could not get a confirm. Contacted an expedia online agent and he could not get a confirm, he contacted AA airlines and was told all are unavailable.

Result was we went on expedia and book the very flight Itinerary # [protected] for $599.86. There were 12 empty seats in our area, so the flight was not over booked. After arriving home, I contacted Expedia again for reimbursement for the medical return. I was told they could not but would give a credit for the return not used. I had not planned on another trip this year so the credit would be wasted.

The issue is I needed to spend an additional $599 that I should not have had to spend to return home due to medical reasons. Second, Expedia allows changes with no cost, but in this case told me they could not do it. I feel I should have the second trip refunded due to expedia not living up to their obligations. It would be one thing if everything was over booked, but 12 seats empty.

Expedia Hotel Refund

I'm Mirna On Feb-24-23 I bought a package from Orbitz the web page or plattform wasn't working correctly and keep telling me to start all over again so I did it 3 times and finally I could finished the transaction the problem is that later when I checked my credit card they charged me twice,I being talking to a lot of people from Orbitz and 2 from Expedia they all told me they were gone fix it but so far they having refund $883.+ for one room at best western in Guatemala city I already paid for one but they are supposed to refund the money for the second room we are only 2 senior citizen people and we don't work anymore,so we don't any extra money to just give away/

I even call the headquarters of Best Western and they told me that is expedia that got the money so Expedia is supposed to REFUND the money to my credit card I hope they do because I being waiting to long and it's NOT fair to make paid double or $1,700.+ for one room .

Desired outcome: Expedia to refund the $883.+

Expedia Booked package was over $1,000 more than original receipt

I booked a package deal through Expedia. I clicked on package and made sure flight, hotel, and car were all clicked. I then put in that I wanted to fly from Philadelphia to Key Largo, stay at a hotel in Key Largo, and rent a car. Two pages of hotels in Key Largo came up. Under each hotel option it quoted a price per person and then a total price. I chose the Hampton Inn which quoted a total price of $1,900 for flight, hotel, and car rental. I chose a King room with garden view and clicked book. It then took me to the available flights. I chose nonstop and a time which was more expensive for each flight which I agreed to.

The total price of the trip was now around $2,400.00. I booked the two flights. Then it took me to the rental car page. I chose Thrifty and an SUV and clicked book. I then clicked on the receipt which clearly stated Package Price $2,069.26; Added taxes and fees of $357.74 with a total price of $2,426.80. I HAVE A COPY OF THIS RECEIPT DATED MARCH 22, 2023.

HOWEVER, when we got back from our trip, I noticed on my Citi charge card that American Airlines had charged me $418.00/pp for our tickets for a total of $836.00 along with an Expedia charge of $2,200.00. I called Expedia and talked with 5 different people through chat, phone, and e-mail. The last person I spoke to was a manager who admitted that the first receipt sent to me was a mistake and they sent me the new receipt. I never saw the new receipt because the e-mail subject was "ITINERARY", NOT NEW PRICE/RECEIPT. I glanced at the itinerary, never seeing the "New Receipt". NO ONE EVER CONTACTED ME TO LET ME KNOW THAT THE ORIGINAL RECEIPT WAS INCORRECT.

So, I went on Expedia website again and typed in the exact trip I took. Guess What? Now the price was even cheaper at $746/pp and it clearly stated that the price included flight, hotel, and car. Is this how Expedia makes their money? By saying it includes the flight, but then charges full price for the flight? I will never again book through Expedia because of their fraudulent business practice.

Desired outcome: Refund $836.00 for airline tickets which were included in the original package.

Expedia Flight change customer service

I received a notice that my flight that I booked for my son on Jet Blue for the last leg of our trip to Hawaii was no longer availalbe. (leaving at 9:20 PM on July 4th and arriving in LAX at 5:45 AM on the 5th and then he was supposed to take a connecting flight at 7:20 AM. This was moved to 6:50 AM and he was not given an option to take that flight, even though there were tickets available from JetBlue). I received an e-mail and was given 2 options, one 4 PM flight and another for 6:50 AM (the next day... which I didn't realize). Since his flight from Honolulu to LAX was scheduled to land at 5:45 AM, the 6:50 time seemed to be the most reasonable. I selected the 6:50 AM flight. Only later when I got the confirmation e-mail at the end of the day did I realize that it was booked for the next day. To me this seems crazy that I was even given an option for a flight 25 hours later so I missed that it was the next day. My bad I guess.

As soon as I saw this I called Expedia to attempt the change it back to a flight on the 5th of July so he could get home that day as he has to work on the 6th. The first guy said we could make the change but there would be a $1 change fee. As I gave him my credit card info he then informed me that the system wouldn't let him make the change and that I needed to contact JetBlue directly.

I tried chatting with an agent and let them know that I either needed to cancel the whole trip and rebook or change that last leg of the flight to the 5th. I was offered a refund of the entire trip by JetBlue for JetBlue credit but I told them I preferred a refund. They said I'd have to contact JetBlue for that.

I contacted JetBlue and they said that these changes can only be made by Expedia and only Expedia could do a refund. I contacted Expedia again, this time using the chat and was told that only JetBlue could make the change. This went back and forth for a while.

In that chat I again stated that I would either need to change the flight back or cancel. Since I was told that I couldn't make the change, I said that I'll take the JetBlue credit that I was previously offered. This new agent then apologized and said that this was a mistake and there is no way to get credit or a refund.

I then called back and spoke with another agent who said the same thing, that changes can't be made and no way to get a refund. I asked to speak to her manager. She then put me on hold for 30 minutes and came back and said she could get my son on the 4 PM flight on the 5th for a change price of $90 + dollars. Since the JetBlue 6:50 AM flight was only $49 plus a $30 bag fee, I declined since the earlier flight was preferable and cheaper. I then asked about the manager that she supposedly had been contacting. She put me on hold again and I finally did speak to a manager who was very nice and assured me that he could take care of my needs and there would be no problem. After speaking with him for a while so he could understand the situation he said that he would need to speak with JetBlue directly and solve the problem but that it would be another 1 1/2-3 hours and he would call me back. Since it was 10:30 PM EST at this time having already been working on this for 4 hours, we agreed that if he could solve it in the next 2 hours he would call me that night or, if not, I would get a call in the morning. I stayed up for 2 more hours waiting for the call then went to bed and never received any call the next day.

I finally ended up calling back for service at the end of the day today (4/25/2023) and was told by the agent that there was no solution.

I went back to the JetBlue site to book the flight myself. Of course the cost of the flight had gone up $40 so I paid $89 for the flight plus $30 for 1 bag for a flight that I already paid for and booked with Expedia.

Desired outcome: I would like a $120 refund for the flight that I had to book. An apology would be nice as well since I was left hanging with none of the promised resolutions.

Expedia Bait and switch

We are writing to express our extreme dissatisfaction with the booking process and subsequent accommodation provided through Expedia. On the 5th of March 2023, we booked a hotel at The Vendue. Confirmation number [protected]. The hotel is located at the listed address of 19 Vendue Range through your website. The pictures and amenities are why we chose this specific hotel for our trip from the 4th to 12th of April 2023. After booking, we received confirmation that we were given accommodation across the street. This hotel not only had a different address, but it was also a completely different hotel that was not as nice or full of artwork as the one we had booked. This is clearly a case of bait and switch and is completely unacceptable.

To make matters worse, we were forced to pay an additional $117 per night to stay at the hotel we had originally booked. This is a significant amount of money, and we were not prepared for this unexpected expense. The two hotels were of vastly different tiers of comfort and quality, and we feel as though we have been taken advantage of.

We are demanding reimbursement for the difference in cost between the two hotels, as well as compensation for the inconvenience and disappointment caused by the switch. Furthermore, we strongly urge Expedia to fix their website to ensure that this type of situation does not happen to any other unsuspecting travelers.

We expect a prompt response to our complaint and a satisfactory resolution to this matter. Thank you for your attention to this issue.

Expedia Credit for my cancelled flight

I called to change the name on my purchased Ticket due to flying out of two airports the same day. (Seattle, Washington and John Wayne, Orange County.) The Seattle Ticket was for my son, my flight was scheduled for June 26, 2023. I talked to Expedia representative and explained to him my situation and was told I could not change the name. Which would have solved the problem! I had to cancel the flight and make schedule a new flight. My family is scheduled to flight to Newark, New Jersey to visit my Mother and Brothers in Jersey City, NJ. I do not need credit for the flight because I am a US Navy Veteran who suffered a Burst Aneurysm, Stoke, Quadruple Heart Bypass Surgery, Retina injury, Hypertension PTSD, Traumatic Brain injury and I am a Diabetic. I am 100% VA disabled and do not fly on a regular basis. This is the reason why I would like my money refunded to me. I served my country fighting in the Persian Gulf War and Iraq. I am only flying to see my mother who is not getting any younger, I am truly blessed that I and her are still here! I am on a fixed income, and I am emotionally torn by situation which is keeping me up at night. I had to pay $1027 for my son to fly after the cancellation because the price of the tickets increased. Thank you for your time and patience. I hope this matter can be resolved because I will never used that credit because of my condition.

Re: Budget billing (incident 2/26/2023 to 3/4/2023)

I made my reservation on Expedia (itinerary [protected]; Budget confirmation 18900908US5) with a price quote of $252.44. When I picked up the car at CDG Orly, the Budget attendant handed me the car key, saying everything was ok. I did not sign any contract - in particular, I did not agree to any additional (comprehensive) insurance coverage since I carry such insurance through my credit card. A claim of over $600 was put on my credit card. I assumed that included a guarantee deposit.

When I handed in the car at Gare de Lyon on 3/4, I was presented with a bill of 566.42 euros – exceeding $600. The explanation I was given was that I had contracted comprehensive insurance coverage. The contract I was shown carried neither my signature nor my initials - I never signed any contract at pick-up. When I objected, the Budget representative told me she could not modify the contract (which I found plausible). So I asked her to print the contract/bill for me. She told me it would be sent to me by e-mail. I eventually received the (unsigned) contract after complaining, and there has been a charge on my credit card exceeding $600.

Desired outcome: Refund of unauthorized optional insurance charges
