Poor, slow, confusing response to a request for initial service 30 days ago
Dear FPL:
This complaint is regarding a Town house development in Palm Beach Gardens, Fl-there are 5 residences involved in this complaint-12853 Trevi Isle Drive-FPL# [protected]; 12857 Trevi Isle Drive-FPL# [protected]; 12861 Trevi Isle Drive-FPL#[protected]; 12865 Trevi Isle Drive FPL# [protected]: 12869 Trevi Isle Drive FPL#[protected]. We have been unable to get service hook ups and our closings are delayed.
David Adejunmobi had been our rep until he left approximately one month ago. He left without answering numerous emails dating back over 30 days prior and never called us or emailed us to say he was leaving and let us know who our new rep would be.
My superintendent Jorge Ruiz sent this EMAIL to Anthony Lozano 6/11/21, " It was a pleasure and a welcome relief to speak to you yesterday after nearly a month attempting to reach out and schedule our upcoming Buildings with David Adejunmobi for wire pulls and meters.
"I was pleased to see that after our conversation yesterday an F.P.L Crew showed up with Meters for 12853 & 12857 in Building 4; only to find out that the wire was not pulled to the Meter Cans by your sub-contractor Viking. This is extremely disturbing in as much we have closings set up for this building all next week. There are 5 other Buildings that are fast approaching that we will be needing Meters set. Closings scheduled for Building 6 & 7 in July, Building 8 in August & Buildings 9 & 10 in September. Anthony F.P.L is late with the wire pulls for Building 4; I need your help to expedite the wire pulls and the meter installation this is obviously our priority." signed JORGE RUIZ.
This is a problem when a power company cannot make up its mind whether to pull the wire itself or have their favorite contractor pull the wire. It nearly always gets mismanaged and we are left holding their bag. I need to get FPL or Viking here ASAP and finish the job we asked about over 30 days ago. I want to see a plan in the future from our rep that avoids this. I would also like the name of Anthony Lozano's supervisor. Thanks you.

Billing issues
I am so very frustrated. I have never been late on my payment in my whole time as a good customer. I had fraudulant activity occur with my Suncoast Credit Union checking account. They had me close my account and open up a new account. I tried several times to update this information and for some reason your system did not accept it and 2 of my payments did not go through. I tried paying last month with a credit card and your system obviously did not accept it. Now, my account is now locked. I have been treated so rudely by your customer service staff. Not sure if you record the conversations, but if you do you should listen to my calls.
Desired outcome: Wanted to be treated with the respect I deserve for being a valued customer.
Substation
I live at [protected] directly facing a FPL substation. Two weeks ago, 3 large extremely bright lights were illuminated apparently while work was being done. HOWEVER, these lights have been on 24/7. Even with my blinds closed, my entire house is illuminated like it is the middle if the day. I twice left messages on a voicemail of ‘Lori' in construction mgmt at [protected]. She has yet to call me back. Please help!

Past data information
Made a request for FPL DATA for court requested documentation for years 2017, 2016, 2015 of FPL summary audits for account #[protected] and account # [protected]. I was told by Ms. Juarez (4288) that she did not have a supervisor and no data was available and there was nothing in written to support her statement, "that there are no data available" after two years for the date of request (2021) or no written letter by FPL to substantiate that they do not provide summary audits after two years. Corporate office representative fixed bill, still shows I owe
On May 27, 2021 a representative from FPL Corporate Office called me to follow up on my bill. Auto-pay came back and charged $30.00. She said I could have auto-pay. She set it up and removed $30.00 charge. NOW the payment came back again and another $30.00 charge. I paid by credit card but NOT the $30.00. Someone needs to call me, I can't get a HUMAN being on any line I call. This is affecting my EXCELLENT credit rating. HELP HELP HELP

FPL charging $15 to pay with a credit card? Convenience for who? Profit making for FPL is all it is! FPL should be fined for mistreating it's customers.
if I could choose between FPL and any other utility to work with, FPL would be fired in a heart beat! Disgraceful.
Use the money from all the employees FPL no longer employ since implementing this form of extortion.

Corporate customer service and billing
I have two accounts at different addresses but in my name. My daughter rents from me and wasn't paying her bill on time. She now pays by credit card. I opened a new account in April and when I received my first bill, I set up auto-pay and paid it from my bank account. They returned it and charged me $30.00 because they used the wrong account (using my account that my daughter pays.) I filed a complaint on the Pissed Customers Website and Jessica from the Corporate Office called me. She looked at my situation and then said I could have auto-pay, so she set me up. She also deleted the $30.00 charge. Today I got an email, my payment was returned and I was charged $30.00 again. I can't talk to a smart human being. I am so disgusted with this situation, I should get this bill free for all I have had to go through. There is no excuse to continue this kind of treatment. The left-hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

FPL opened an account without my permission, and then sent it to collections and damaged my credit without notifying me or sending me any statements.
Billing fees and auto pay cancellations
I just activated service with FPL on March 15, 2021 and I have paid roughly $120. I was told I did not have to pay a deposit if I set up autopay with FPL. I was also told I would have to pay a activation fee within10 days of moving in, by logging in my account or calling to make a payment. When I did that, it said nothing was due until that following week, which was the end of March. On my online acct, it then said i did not owe my next bill until April 20th. Every time I logged in my account, it said nothing due. Then the next few weeks went by and I did not notice anything from autopay coming out of my account, so I log in my acct and they said my auto pay was denied and I owed 150 for my deposit fee for my auto pay bring denied and 130 for electric. I called my bank, wellsfargo, and they have no record or transaction of FPL taking any money out of my account or my autopay being denied what so ever. Now, I log in and it says I owe almost 400! When last week I paid 100. So, that's a total of 500 in charges when i have not even lived here and had service with them for 90 days. I have called over and over to reach them through customer service and this is all during business hours Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and I am unable to reach any person lie about my bill I need help reaching them and I need this resolved before my electric is shut off on my daughter and I I have a 6 year old and I'm a single mom and I need this resolved and I do not have $500 to pay because something is going on with their services. Please help! I had O U C Electric in Orlando for the last year and I've never once been late on a bill so I am not trying 2 have a negative account any electric company and I need help

The absence of service
I always have auto pay. My computer has been highjacked, My financial information is blocked. I know the problem was a keylogger from Russia. Virus scans can not locate the virus. When FPL bills my bank, payment will be rejected. I have spent too many hours trying to inform FPL of the situation. I tried to change the financial institution . FPL will not accept a Visa card. I have one checking account.
FPL hides behind electronics. I have tried phone calls. On hold for a long time; then I was invited to leave a call back. Call back put me on hold for 20 minutes then broke the connection.
I have tried phone prompts. Not one prompt matches the situation. I tried most of the prompts. I have been down uncountable rabbit holes with this system. Chat is so ridiculous it is a comedy. I am no longer laughing. This is a very large hole of unbelievable crap.
This monopoly will stop my service, ruin my excellent credit before it make me enter a loony lock up.

I am being overcharged for my bill
My bill was over 99 dollars this month. I know that my energy usage has not doubled. Please resolve this. I moved out of my last apartment at 5332 Grand Cypress cir apt 202 but am still being charged. I AM required to have 350 characters so I will have go on and on even though I have already made my complaint. My account online still has my last address even though I HAVE moved out and stopped service there.

Being overbilled for surge protection that I do not have on my electrical service.
I have been being billed for surge protection equipment that I do not have on my electric service. I have been trying to speak to a live person for about a week. I have six different phone numbers and they all go to the same online recording, which is of no help what so ever !
These charges are unauthorized by me, and they amount to $22.06 per month.
I am going to guess that no one even reads these complaints !
Desired outcome: Either provide the equipment or credit my bill for the seven months, which I have been paying for.
Reported leaning pole causing multiple urgent issues 6 time & still not repaired
Called to report a leaning pole(guide wires broken off), causing a sagging wire over driveway(that will not allow us to get RV out), & pulling our main power line off the side of the house. It has been 1 month of numerous phone calls & still not repaired, & no date or schedule of any repair to be made!

How many times are we going to lose power at the slightest wind . I have no power now at 10 am 4/20/21 and was told it will be back on by 12:15pm 4/20/21 due to "transformer affecting 7 customers". On 8/24/20 we had the same issue but "lateral fuse"needed to be replaced- at that time we requested tree trimming in hopes it would fix the problem. Were the trees trimmed, was the " lateral fuse" replaced, was there a transformer problem back in august?
It is now 2:14 pm I'm missing a days work along with the other 7 families because this problem can't get taken care of once and for all.
Please let me know how you plan to remedy this ongoing situation ( not the band aid trim job that has been done in the past )

Trees and lines
I have a had an ongoing issue with FPL for over 6 years.
Back in 2016, FPL surveyed my home and advised my tree was touching their lines and they would have to trim it. I thought a trim of the top of tree would be sufficient. When I viewed their work, they hacked into my tree from one side and damaged it.
The tree grew out a little more; so by 2018, I called FPL (me being proactive) and asked them to come out and trim the tree from their line again. They sent some lady (contractor) out who said that even though the tree was high, it wasn't touching FPL's line - yet - and there was nothing they could do at that time.
Now, 2021, the top of the tree is touching their line again. I have my grandmother- who just came home from rehab after suffering a stroke, living in the home. We have had a number of storms recently that has taken limbs off of the tree and sparked FPL's line.
The first time I called to report, I never got a call back after they said they'd send someone out. I called a second time, two weeks ago, and was told to submit pictures to fpl.com/trees-the address doesn't exist!
I need FPL to come out and clear their lines so I can get this tree cut down. No one will even attempt to cut my tree down until FPL comes out and clears their line. I can't blame them - as it's a liability for their company and employees. I have an elderly individual living in this house and need to get this tree down. FPL started this problem back in 2015 when they hacked into my tree and now I need for them to come out and help me with the process of getting this resolve. FPL, take responsibility, clear your lines so I can do my part!
Today will be my third time calling in roughly a month.

fpl send out people to cut my trees they show up with no notice and start cutting and dropping tree limbs on my dog multiple times broke into my yard damaged my gate if they give people notice gate would be unlocked but to break in called to complain and its very difficult to contact anyone when you do speak to someone they are useless 3 times in one month they show up to cut till they cut ground level and all times drop tree limbs on me and my dog fpl doesnt seem to think its a problem they showed up again 3 times in one day after me calling to complain I was informed they were leaving and back again dropped trees on my shed whoever they send out needs to be fired they over cut take no care as to what or who might be below no notice they cant get anyone to respond you have no rights on your own property men can come and go as they please damage whatever they want let your dogs loose if you lock your gate they have broken in fed up no longer feel safe to have me and my dog on my property they go from the yard behind me and start cutting without notice without checking to see what they drop trees on cant get anywhere with these people and why would they put power lines in the back yards
part 2 they came back again at neighbors request { neighbors who want all my landscaping removed } they cut down potted plants dropped a tree on my shed damaged fence again bent a lamp post in half again no notice to break into my property cameras show they made no attempt to come to the door at all choseing to break in fpl came out and told me he did not see that they needed to cut more but they came out again today discussing what else would be cut so fed up with these [censored]s
Tree trimming
I have requested the trimming of overgrown trees for more than 3 years. The trees have now grown up to the transformer, covered my house lines and grown into the lower main power line. FPL tells me it is up to me to trim my house line out but had they maintained the line this tree would not have grown to the transformer nor over my household line. This is a fire hazard waiting to happen. FPL contractors have been through my neighborhood but fail to even look at this line intersection. In the photos THERE IS a transformer, just have to squint to make it out.

I am a customer of over 30 years and I just tried calling to cancel my service for I am moving to N. Carolina and the virtual assistant would not let me talk to a human being and was insistent that it could help me even though I repeatedly said I did not have a forwarding address yet to send the final bill. I tried to say I have always had automatic withdrawal from my checking account yet the stupid artificial intelligence could not comprehend that I wanted to have the final bill withdrawn from the same account bank I have always used for I will be keeping it but no it still could not understand and I finally had to use the address of the home I am actually leaving for it to accept my cancellation of service. I think the fact I could not talk to a human being speaks volumes of how little FPL thinks of it's customers( never missed a payment in over 30 years) and shows me how Orwellian you have become. Thank God I am leaving Florida for Julia is a dumb [censored]!
fpl working trimming trees.
fpl came to trim the branches from the trees in the back of my house that were i assume touching the power lines. my address is 251 hearth st. sw palm bay fl 32908. I own the lots from the corner of santo domingo and hearth to the corner of heart and scotten ave the last lot i keep it clean. fpl has always gone
throught that lot to get to the power lines that happens to be in the back not in the front of my house. This man went through the front of my lawn got
struck in my grass made deep wholes in the grass. I have pictures. He left me
a note that he would come and fix it. two week and I had to send him a text
as to when he would be coming to fix the damage he had caused. well he
came through down four pieces of sod and said he would be back with some more sod. I was not home other wise I would have talked to him. he
came back through down a few more sod pieces and called it a day. well there are owe the were not covered in order to cover thoses wholes they first need to be filled with dirt and then put down some more sod. I am
livid. I am a 68 year old widow, I cut my own grass. there is no way I can go over those wholes with my lawn mower. I need someone to come and inspect this damage and get it fixed properly. FPL BIlling
Account # 64436-8571 . I scheduled a transfer order through the online system. It was scheduled for the 15th of March to transfer to the new address. My power was shut off on the 10th. When this occurred I called because my daughters were at the house and they said there was an error on the date and they would immediately turn power on. Today I receive a bill with a deposit, I have never paid my balance late to ensure that I have a good payment history with FPL. Today I was transferred to Ms. Ruiz who says there was nothing she can do to assist me since they ran my credit (that was ruined due to COVID) and she says she cant waive my deposit. What good is it to be a good customer with good payment history when all they care is to get money. Of course because they are the only one who provide the service we cant speak to anyone above Ms. Ruiz that can help me. Thanks FPL I am a single mother of two always making my payments on time to make sure I am good customer and not once did I call to say I couldnt pay when my salary was cut 30%.
