I had a bill in collections from GC Services Limited Partnership. I paid this bill November 11,2006. It is now March 13, 2007 and my payment was never sent to the original biller, they claim they never received my money. I have a confirmation number and a bank statement showing the payment made, and they still insist payment was not made, and would not make any effort to correct the problem. Due to GC Services Limited Partnership mistake my credit report has a dent in it that they refuse to fix. They fought with me about the payment made, screamed and cursed at me and kept hanging up the phone. They would not let me speak to a supervisor or another employee. Instead GC Services Limited Partnership would put me on speaker phone and talk slanderously. My money has been stolen and is still floating around in there pocket. There is no correcting this because they will not answer the phone or let someone else know the situation so it can be correct. GC Services Limited Partnership are thieves!

I have been being harassed by GC services. They are the rudest unprofessional group of individuals I have ever had to deal with. They won't let you speak with supervisors. They have cursed me out, laughed in my face and left rude messages on my voicemail. And the kicker is that they are looking for someone whom I don't know and have told them that it is the wrong number. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau.

Got a call from (GC Services Limited Partnership) these thieves and the caller identified herself as Tina and then asked my name. I asked her who she was calling from, the company and she became very rude and began rattling off an address seeking for me to verify. When I insisted on her company's identity she hung up. Fortunately for caller ID I had their number and Googled it and found this collection agency and the many comments about their practices. Don't be fooled and identify yourself or confirm your identity that is their tactic. I did not confirm my address. I then tried to call their number [protected] and it was busy. By way of Google the phone number came up to a BBB web site showing that was one of their many numbers. I called the main number and asked for a Tina and was told the company was very large and it was impossible to find this Tina. I did not want to give my name as I would only be harassed by these people. I don't have any unpaid debts so I know this is not correct and wonder why these people are bothering me. Just be aware that is why I'm posting this. PM

Great. I am really nervous now. I have arranged payment with this company for an old cell phone account.
I received a bill just recently from the cell phone carrier for the full amount, but, I assumed it was printed before my first of 2 payments posted. I will contact the cell carrier and verify they've received notification of the payment. The second payment is due to post tomorrow. I hope I can get to the bottom of this ASAP so I can put a stop-payment on the electronic check if necessary.

I work too hard for my money to have it taken and still be liable with the original company!

GC Services is the most incompetent, unprofessional so called "agency" I have ever seen ! I received a call from them on a Saturday morning regarding an old student loan that I have had to put on the back burner for a long time. I did not dispute the account, and was very willing to cooperate and set up a rehabilitation program. I gave this "collection agency" all of my info, and complied diligently with their every request as far as faxing their forms to them to set up the program with payment arrangements. I allowed them to do automatic debits from my checking account, beginning with a $300 down payment, and another $100 as my first payment. They continue to call me constantly wanting me to fax and re-fax the same information that I have already faxed to them more than once. I refuse to cooperate with them any longer. I now need to contact the original creditor to make sure they have received my down payment and first payment. I am going to close that checking account, as it was only a 2nd account used for them only, to begin with. (Thank God I did not give them my main account information.) If I can reach a payment agreement with the original creditors, I will be more than happy to arrange a payment plan with them, but GC Services will not receive another dime from me willfully.

GC services is trying to collect money on an account that has been payed on by Care One Credit counseling services . They have been rude and not provided me with any documentation that the account has not been payed on even though I have documentation that it has been payed on. They tried to take money out of my account even though I told them I was questioning the debt and needed proof of authenticity.

I received a bill for $3244.00 from gc services with my daughters address on it. This bill is not mine and when I tried to contact them, I found no phone number included with this bill. this is a very poor way to do business, if this is a legitimate company. I only found where the federal trade commission can be contacted. I will be contacting them along with the better business bureau. This bill is in regards to sprint pcs. I have never had an account with sprint. This is fraud. Consumer protection agency is another contact department. I now know why I am having difficulty purchasing a vehicle. Transunion and experian and equifax will be contacted. Buyer beware.

I worked for gc services, from november 2006 until june 8 2007 a premium of 74.00 was taken out of my paycheck on june 8, the script company advised me my coverage terminated june 7. How is it that you charged me fr a premium after coverage ended? This is certainly unfair, not to mention probably illegal. Each paycheck reflects a premium of 74.00 being taken... So basically gc services took money after they had already canceled my benefits. I will contact attorney general office about this matter. This is simply just another one of many reasons i no longer work for company. For GC to be the largest privately owned collection company. It seems to me they F**K their employees over and over again Which is why turn over there is extremely high and will not get any better. Dishonest, Untrustworthy, Deceitful, Unlawfully, are just a few words to describe Gc services Quitting was the best decision i ever made... I will look into matter further!

Let's not forget who failed to pay their bill on time in the first place... let's not forget who went 90+ days without paying their card... you debtors think your such innocent victims but if you'd simply pay your bill then you wouldn't be in this situation, would you? And most of these posts are embellished for dramatic purposes. There is absolutely no cursing or threatening or anything like that. The calls are monitored by the client (the creditor you actually owe) and if they are not satisfied with the service or find gross negligence and failure to apply the FDCPA... they will end the contract with GC Services. Be honest guys...

I realize that this post is from 2007 and I have to respond all these years later. In 2017 the FTC sued GC Services for violating the FCDPA. So this so called Employee's statements are null and void.

GC Services is after my husband for $$$... First let me say, these people gave him a credit card when he was only 17! He is now 28! These a#**holes call all hours of the day and night, seven day's a week. We have 3 children and they often get woken up by these IDIOTS. I tell you, if I could have got through the phone to the last woman that called, well, lets just say, she would not be able to make any more calls! They have also called some more family members with the same last name as ours, which I find total BS, If they want to talk to a person, don't call were you know they are not.

G&C services are not above representing themselves as Federal or State investigators. Recently I got a call from them seeking my eldest daughter, the man told me he was a Federal agent investigating my daughter, then he worked for the State of Missouri as an investigator. When I pressed him for his supervisors name and number he threatened to call the leasing manager in they complex I live in until I told him we owned our townhouse, at that point he started swearing at me and I hung up... These people are ###!

Lol, what a bunch of baloney you creditors cook up... I guarantee 99% of what you guys wrote was exaggerated for dramatic effect. Any payment you make goes right to the original creditor, GC Services does not touch it, it is not "sloshing around" GC Services. You know what the BBB and the FTC are not going to do a thing because everything GC does is according to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and all calls are monitored to make sure the rules are followed. And like in the one comment up there... if it is a fraud case or something like that it is YOUR responsibility to file a police report and find out what happened. As well collections agencies have to verify personal information so they know they are speaking with the right person... they are not trying to scam you.

I just received a call from GC Services. The man asked me go to a neighbors house to leave his (GC's) telephone number on her door. It was an odd call because the first question he asked me was, "Is your neighbor home now?" I called the number back about an hour later and a girl answered. There was a lot of loud music and laughter in the background. I had never heard of GC Services before and wondered if the call was legit or if someone was casing her home. I was about to call the police, but thought to Google GC Services.

I am relieved to find that it is just a collection company and furious that they would contact me to do their job. If they continue to contact me I will contact the police for harassment. They need to do their own work and not bother other people to do it for them.

It is called skiptracing. Collection agencies are governed by the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practice Act). They are allowed to contact a neighbor to obtain location information on someone. If you don't want them to contact you anymore, I would suggest you call in & simply ask for them not to. They probably left some sort of number(other then telephone #) with you to identify the info they are seeking. Out of curiosity did you give the message to your neighbor? Maybe you should, after all, if someone went to the extent of calling YOUR neighbor to get in contact with you, wouldn't you want to know?

I have worked with GC to set up a loan rehabilitation program for a student loan I had ignored for a while. They were 100% courteous, informative, and even let me check their credentials. I discovered that they are indeed an authorized collection agency for Federal Student Loans. I have had no problems with them, and frankly, they have been the most pleasant creditors I have worked with to date. Maybe its just a "Your Mileage May Vary" situation...

That's right, GC Services will help those who want to be helped. It is those of you looking for an easy way out or some kind of hand out that get treated like credit criminals. Kudos to you David on resolving your student loan debt. Everyone in our country counts on federal money, from future students, to our brothers & sisters dying in Iraq. Do the right thing, pay back your debt!

I received a letter from this company. It was addressed to my name, but the wrong middle initial. They stated in the letter I was to send them a payment of 350.00 or my wages would be garnished, attach bank accounts, and attach liens. It was supposedly from a court in California, LA county. I reside in CT and have only been to CA once, to visit a relative in 2001. My wife called to inquire, and was asked all kinds of personal info such as drivers license number, date of birth, etc. They finally figured out I was not the intended target and their policy is to send out threatening letters to anyone whose name is even remotely close. Do not fall for their offensive schemes, you never know who you are really speaking to and can cause you many head aches down the road involving identity theft.

Oh bull! Then why is GC services harassing people who don't even OWE the debt! I have contacted them several times telling them to stop calling my phone number. I'm not the person who owes the debt but they keep calling. Now they are calling my neighbors! If you want to collect then collect but don't harass innocent people who have nothing to do with it. And quit defending your ignorant actions too. If you guys play by the rules then why are there so many complaints for YOUR company? Maybe because you ARE crossing the line and breaking laws? I think so.

I have an overdue accout with sprint pcs also. However, its not for the amount that GC says I owe. I had recieved 2 letters sayin my account was delinquent so i made a payment over the phone (which i NEVER EVER do becuase of past unautorize payments taken out of my bank account). But, i did it anyway. Now i'm sittin here balancing my checkbook and on my summary online, there is no payment taken out of my account from GC. But yet it says my collected amt and my available, the available is the EXACT amount that gC took out. I'm now worried that i just gave a fraud company my information. AHH! What do i do? I have asked for my account to be turned back over to the original debtor by they refuse to do so... someone help me? Email me or something with some advice!

I agree 100%! Never give out your personal information! Let them give you the information they have!
I was called at my office on 2 different occasions and the person asked my front desk workers what my SSN was, what my date of hire was and all sorts of questions. When I got on the phone the person that called hung up. I called bask at the number that they gave and was transferred around to 3 different people before I was given a 'manager'. He asked me what my name was and asked what the last 4 of my SSN was I told him I was not going to give him any information because I wasn't 100% convinced that this wasn't some sort of identity theft scheme. I asked him to tell me what SSN he had associated with my name. He read me the last 4 digits and sure enough it was for a different person. I told him that they had done this exact same thing about 3 months ago and I couldn't understand why they would call the same number (my office number) and ask the exact same questions when we had supposedly solved this matter. I also told him that since this was the 2nd time it had happened once again targeting the same WRONG person (me), if it happened agian I was going to file a police report for harrassment. The guy seemed to understand and said he would try to fix the problem.

I received 4-5 phone calls from Monica at GC Services in the last two weeks. This is not counting the numerous others over the years. They are looking for information on someone that "put me down as a reference on a loan application". I am very close to this person and know that this "loan process" is completely false. They have even gone as far as to state that this person "has sat down in the office with them and they have been trying to help her get a loan for approximately the last six months. They really want to help put this loan through for her".

After two of the recent phone calls I demanded that I am not to used as a reference for this person and they immediately remove my name and all phone numbers from their records as well as cease calling. I was belligerently confronted by Monica stating that "I will not remove your information and that I will call you back". This conversation, if you can call it that, went on to her hanging up on me. Professional "loan" service, HA!

Upon that last call, I once again requested my information be removed from their records and was rudely and hastily told that if I would give them the information they needed then they would not call me anymore.

I am frustrated and angry and will continue to pursue legal guidance about these actions.

I have tried to call the number for GC Services back with either a busy signal or no answer. NO AVAIL!

I was contacted by Erick Ferguson in the Atlanta GC Services regarding one of my associates. Thinking it was a business call, I returned Erick's message to only discover he wanted to harass one of my associates at work. The associate has asked Erick to never call her at work again and because he could not get ahold of her, thought he would escalate to her manager. I told him for a personal matter he would need to deal directly with her and no longer involve me. He became extremely rude and when I asked to speak to his manager he became argumentative and kept speaking over me. When I hung up on him the person who answered the phone "pretended" to be a manager, the first time I called she was Addie, the second time Mrs. Gilbert... I knew they were playing a game and she hung up on me because the situation had nothing to do with me... well, it became by problem when you started harassing me to get to someone else. I will follow up with the ACA to continue my complaint against the company.

I just received a call from a woman at GC Services. They called to see if I would take a message for a neighbor. When I asked who was calling, they told me it was regarding personal business and that she was not selling anything. Then when I asked again what company she was with she told me GC Services. When I researched this on the internet I found that this was a collection service. I asked how she had obtained my number and she told me from a neighbor. I again asked who gave her my number and she told me that they have a system that can pull the names and numbers of people around the person they are trying to get ahold of.

I personally do not feel that it is right that this company contacted a neighbor regarding a collection issue. This is a personal issue that does not need to be spread around the neighborhood. I feel that this is a very unnecessary way of trying to do business. I only know this neighbor in passing and would not be willing to provide this information to them. I feel that this service has gone too far.

Unfortunately, I have been in the same position. I searched the FDCPA (fair debt and collections practicing act) online and read it. Top to bottom. It clearly states that calls are allowed from 8am to 9pm local time, 7 days a week. It's no fun, I know because I have received calls at both extreme hours and it has disturbed my household as well. I have sought advice on how to get the calls to stop. The only way to make calls stop is to send in a written letter, a cease and desist, to the company. FDCPA guidelines, section 805 subsection 3-c state that if written notice is received that all verbal communication is to stop, it must do so.

Hope you find this helpful.

To Straighten this whole thing out...GC never sees any of the payments you make on anything. GC has been around for more the 50 years, they are the best at what they do. Companies employ GC to collect on delinquent accounts in MANY different aspects(Student loans, car loans, credit cards, etc etc). You spend money/take out a loan and dont pay your bill ON TIME...You get a call, and you will continue to get a call until the bill is paid or some type of pmnt arrangement is made. If you cant set up a payment arrangement then there is no way the collector can stop the calls, therefore your name and number are still in the automatic dialer. If you get alot of calls a day its because you keep hanging up or no contact is made with the debtor...Therefore the collector cant stop the calls. You are late on paying a bill...For everyday your past the due date, interest accrues as well as possible late fees. Think of it from a corporate view...for everyday your late, the company loses money...NOT GC...The company that employs GC...BUT because you dont pay it on time you get late fees and higher interest rates... It cracks me up when people think that its GC's fault their payment got lost...When you mail something it doesnt go to GC it goes to the company that employs GC to collect...NOW...The best form of payment is over the phone, particularly over an automated payment line, as there is less room for error when it comes to putting in the account number for payment withdrawal.
The name of the company cannot be revealed unless the collector knows that he/she is talking to the debtor...DUH! This is for privacy reasons, do you want anyone who answers your phone to know that you have a debt? For that matter the collector has to verify info like address, phone, employer to make sure they have the right person, as to not give away any private information to someone that doesnt need to know it!
Hope this helps clear up the confusions...

I have to agree with those that have had a negative experience with G C Services. They harrass you until you just don't know what to think. They called looking for my daughter making it sound like she was running away from an obligation. The first person that called was like all friendly saying she was a long lost friend of my daughters and was trying to locate her. Then the nasty calls came after I refused to give out any info on my daughter. In this day and age of fraud you can't be too careful. Then a young man called saying my daughter was avoiding her obligations and was running from them. He was very rude and I hung up on him. He called me directly back and continued to verbally abuse me and slander my daughter. I finally took his name and number and had my daughter call him. Come to find out, it was from a hospital bill that her medical insurance had not paid yet. The hospital themselves never contacted my daughter regarding this. She is now getting in straightened out. It still doesn't take away the fact that these people act in an unethical and unprofessional way. I plan on reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

Having worked for GC Services for several years, thankfully not very long in a collections capacity - you would be shocked at what tricks those collectors will play on people. Very rude and its all a big joke.
The hard core collectors will play those types of phone games. I recall one time, where a collector called the customer (who happened to be a surgeon) out of the Operating scrub room, and he sang, yes I said sang a little collection song he created to her. This surgeon was completely scrubbed up for surgery, to save a life, and this jerk demanded she get on the phone.

Unfortunately for some people, being a collector is their job, and its a difficult job to do when dollars collected is the driving force behind their monthly bonus checks.

There are valid collection personnel out there willing to make reasonable payment arrangements. There is always someone else to talk to, and instead of calling back the same day. Wait until the next day and try to get someone else or a manager.

These people are sick, unethical, thieves who try to get you to pay debts you already paid. They verbally abuse you when you tell them it is paid. My bill is Sprint I always pay them directly. DON'T EVER PAY THESE LOW LIFE THIEVES A DIME. IN FACT EACH TIME THEY CALL ME I ASK THEM FOR THERE CREDIT CARD # AND SS#. They verbally abuse me and then hang up. No real legit company would stoop to this level. I am also in contact with a lawyer who is working on this case. I will post it!

I think its funny that "employees" of this company are coming onto this site to try and defend themselves! how unprofessional and pathetic can you get! i personally work for the 6th largest bank in the world, and work near their collections department, let me tell you that there is a massive difference between what a professional collections agent says, is allowed to say, and who they are allowed to contact and disclose information to, and GC does not come close to being professional. if you need to deal with these people request that your case be transfered to another collections agency, contact the original creditor immediately, and inform GC that you are aware of consumer protection laws and unfair debt collection practices, and that you want them to stop contacting you immediately. if they persist contact the federal court in your area and they will work with you to deal with these unprofessional fraud artists.

Here is a little fact. GC doesnt want to call you? In all truth we dont even want you to answer the phone. All we want you to do is go pay the original creditor hurting yourself by not paying a bill to "get back" at a collection agency is ignorant. Are only job is client service and our client is who YOU owe. So if you fulfill your obligation then we have no reason to even speak to you. If you make a partial payment however , in order to better serve our customer (who you owe) we provide customer service by contacting you for the full balance. REMEMBER : you are not our customer, you are the product. You are not entitled to customer service because simply you are not our customer. You are a consumer.

GC employee - are you kidding me? We're being harassed about an account that we have, but is NOT late. We have had our neighbors called, been screamed and cussed at, and all about an account we are in the green with. Even the card agency says they have not sent our account to you jokers. Everyone is late on a bill at some time, even someone as evidently perfect as you. Get off your high horse; you're not fooling anyone.

Just got a call from a woman named Judy, she said she was trying to locate a person that lives across the street, and that the operator give her my number since it was near buy... anyway after asking her how come the operator give you my number she said the it was close to the address she was looking for... she said that she was looking for this person, that she lives in Texas I asked her what does he look like, she gave a description... she asked if I would take her number and put in on the door, and I being a nice guy said I would... then I started thinking, I called 411 and asked them would they ever give out a persons telephone number if not asked, regardless if they lived upstairs, the same building or across the street... So then I called the number that this so Judy gave me, the answered GC Services, asked to speak to Judy, naturally she was on another call. I just hung up. BE WARE.

-- I was called by Mrs. Hicks (I later found out that she worked for GC Services); she left a very vague message to call her back
--2 days later I received them same vague message
--on 11/14/07 at approx 9:15AM EST I returned the call to Mrs. Hicks and gave her the required information for my bankruptcy attorney (that is all I am required to do and the calls must stop: this is the law)
---30 minutes lates I received a phone call from a Frederick Pawlik (sp?); GCS appeared on the caller ID. When I asked him why he was calling/who was he, he hung up
---the actual number that was used to call me was blocked from my phone
-- I contacted Mrs. Hicks again...she seemed apologetic but informed me that the system they use is automatic dialing. She did not say whether this would be resolved.
---I received an email from a friend who appeared to have been contacted by this company and was upset as to why she was getting these calls
---30 minutes from the last call I received another call from another female from GC Services. I explained to her that her company was bordering on harrassment and to ontact Mrs. Hicks
---I called Mrs. Hicks again this time I was very perturbed; I told her she was engaginf in unfair collection tactics and whereas I gave her my lawyer's name and number that these tactics were illegal. She wanted to explain to me again the Automatic dialing system, etc. I did not want to hear the system. She hung up.

I had a disputed charge that was denied by American Express for several thousand dollars. The BBB worked on my behalf to get this charge reversed but were not successful, so I have been making regular monthly payments. American Express turned my account over to GC Services and I have received rude and threatning calls almost daily. I have tried to get a copy of the statement with the charges owed (approx. $500.00 remianing) and they haven't provided. They want me to give them authorization to withdraw funds from my account with no supporting documention of the charges or they will ruin my credit and charge me 35% interest. I am willing to pay but I am not going to give my banking information to them over the phone. They have threatned and yelled harsh words to me for not giving them what they want. This company needs to be held accountable for their actions.
